Ch 2- Fire Dragon, Rebel, Monkey and Bull
"Here we are!" Natsu exclaimed as the four looked at the giant guilt of Fairy Tail. Natsu opened the door and yelled as loud as he could, "I'm back!"
"We made it back alive!" Happy yelled as they entered the guild hall.
"I heard you guys destroyed—" a man was saying. Well, at least until he got kicked by Natsu.
"What was that for!?"
"You gave me wrong information!"
"It was a rumour I heard! I didn't know if it was true!"
"A rumour!?"
"Ya wanna fight!?"
"So Natsu's finally back, huh." Lysa and Lucy turned to face a boy with dark hair and he looked...peculiar is all I'm gonna say. Deal with it! Narrators have preferences too ya know!
Anyway as I was saying... Natsu turned to look at the raven haired boy and instantly went head to head with him, growling.
"What's it to you, Ice Princess?" Natsu asked while scowling.
Now the ravenette's name is not Ice Princess. It is Gray Fullbuster and let's just say that Natsu and Gray are friendly rivals. Then again...not so sure on the friendly part.
And this soon became an all out war.
"I'm a REAL MAN!" Yelled a white haired...man as he jumped into the fighting and an orange haired boy joined in as well after having flirted with Lucy and Lysa. Lysa, having given him a sad slap.
As Lysa watched on with the fighting, the more adrenaline she felt pump on her veins. She wanted in on this too, but...they didn't know her. So it'd just feel wrong. That is until Gray bumped into her after Natsu took away something of his. And Gray asked if he could have them from Lysa.
Big mistake, bro.
"Watch what you say, Icicle Head!" She yelled at the top of her lungs.
Natsu turned to look at the person who had just given Gray a well fitting nickname.
"What'd you call me!?" Gray asked, infuriated.
"You heard me! I called you Icicle Head! Is that truly how to talk to girls and possible new guild mates, princess!?"
"I made one mistake. That doesn't mean I'm gonna take this!"
"Ya wanna go, buddy?" Lysa smirked.
"Bring it on, girly!" Gray smirked back.
"You aren't supposed to start fights, Lysa!" Lucy exclaimed in worry.
"You'll be surprised at how off you are!" Lysa exclaimed, jumping into the air as her left started glowing with the butterfly symbol to which Gray gasped, "Ash Phoenix: Golden Fist!"
She said as her right fist was engulfed with golden flames. Gray extended his arms
outward.
"Ice Make: Shield!"
Gray grinned that he was able to block Lysa's attack , but to his surprise Lysa smirked
"Ash Phoenix: Fury Flame Burst!" She yelled as the flames around her fist grew in size and pressure giving off high heat, melting the ice, letting the attack through.
Gray was thrown back, only to get back up with a smile.
"Ice Make: Hammer!" He said, as a hammer made of ice formed in his hands. He went to strike at Lysa.
"Green Angel: Earth Wall!" A wall made of rock constructed in front of Lysa as Gray's attack failed to hit its target.
Lucy could see that almost everyone in the guild was continuing with their fights. Then from the distance, she saw a small figure who jumped down from the second floor and grew large in size.
Wow, I'm saying this so casually as if it is usual. Well, it's not! Though for me it may as well be.
"Stop, you buffoons!" yelled the figure.
Gray immediately jerked back as Lysa retracted her arm from conducting a spell. Everyone else froze as well.
"Hey there, gramps." Gray said, casually.
The man lowered in size until he was small. Real small. He walked to up to Lysa and Mirajane walked towards the man beckoning Lucy to follow.
"Hello there, Master. We have two new recruits. Lucy and Lysa." Mira said introducing the girls.
"Hello, I'm Makarov, the master of Fairy Tail!" Makarov said.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Lysa Cynthia."
"And I'm Lucy Heartfillia."
"Nice to meet you both. What kind of magic do you use?"
Lucy was the first to answer. "I'm a celestial wizard. So I use celestial spirits."
Makarov nodded in acknowledgement before turning to the blue haired girl. Lysa looked away for a moment before taking a deep breath and looking at the Master.
"I use FateSlayer magic...and more."
Literally, everyone in the guild was looking at Lysa at this revelation. Even the Master
was trying to get his head through this. He had noticed a strong aura from the girl earlier. And her left eye had a mark...
"So you're the Fate Slayer of this era? You're the Requiem Rebel?"
"Well, that is what they call me."
A moment of silence. Lysa was wondering where she'd said something wrong when cheers suddenly broke out.
"WE HAVE THE FATE SLAYER IN OUR GUILD!"
Lysa was amazed at this. Their rowdiness was almost...comforting.
"So, what are the four elements you can use?" Makarov asked.
"Fire, Earth, Water and Air."
"The four main elements, eh?" Makarov said before he looked at the young girl again, "You're power type...?"
"A. initiative." Lysa said hesitantly seeing as to how the Master knew of there even being any types. Well, this was the Master of Fairy Tail she was talking about.
Makarov nodded as he turned to the other members, "Brats, we have two new members!"
Everyone cheered at that. Then came the big speech for destroying stuff at the shore. That was partly Lysa's fault too, but...they didn't need to know.
Then came getting the Fairy Tail mark. Lysa was contemplating whether to get a blue, red, green or yellow mark until a simple idea struck her. Just use her favorite colour.
"I'll take the mark over here," she turned her left wrist so that the side of the palm of the hand was visible. She pointed to her wrist, "and the colour blue will do."
Mira smiled and put the blue stamp of Fairy Tail on the front of her wrist.
"There you go. Nice to have you with us, Lysa." Mira said.
"Yeah." Lysa replied. She looked around the guild for a while and saw Lucy. Lucy had asked Lysa to join up with her once she got her insignia. Lucy was standing at the job board with Natsu, who looked extremely bored while Lucy tried to show off her insignia.
"Where's my father!?"
Lysa turned her attention to a young boy with black hair who looked angrily at Makarov as he simply brushed the boy's words off.
"You're father's a wizard, Romeo. He can handle himself just fine! So go back home, have some milk and cookies and wait for your old man!"
"I hate you! I hate you all!" Romeo yelled as he ran out of the guild hall. Lysa looked down, her hair shadowing her eyes.
Mira could be an airhead sometimes but she could have sworn she saw Lysa scowl. A scowl filled with hatred, sadness, anger and guilt. Mira turned her attention to Natsu who seemed to charge out of the hall behind Romeo and before she could comprehend why, Lysa raced out as well.
Lucy looked at the two who had just departed from the guild in pursuit of Romeo. "Why...?"
"Why'd you come along?" Natsu asked, groaning as his face was filled like a balloon and green like he was about to puke.
They were currently sitting in a wagon which was taking them to Mount Hakobe, where Macao, Romeo's father had gone for a job.
"Hey, we thought we could help, so we came." Lucy replied to the pink haired boy.
Natsu just growled at Lucy and made great effort to speak, "I'm talking about you. Lysa asked me."
Lucy simply scowled at the fire mage and looked towards Lysa who sat there, staring off into the scenery.
"Hey Lysa, you've been very quiet. Something on your mind?" Lucy asked.
Lysa turned her head to look at Lucy and the blond gasped. Lysa looked like she'd just been on the most horrific thing ever.
"Liz, are you okay?" Lucy asked, concerned.
"Peachy," Lysa said, but then she quickly turned and held her mouth like she was gonna blow, "well, as much as I can be."
"Wait, you have motion sickness as well!?"
"Bit more controlled than...Natsu there with some...practice. But still the same." Lysa replied with breaks of holding her mouth so she doesn't vomit.
"Guess Fate Slayers have it as well, eh?"
Lysa nodded as she tried her best to push down another wave that was coming in. Just then, the wagon stopped moving.
"This as far as I can take you," the man driving the wagon said.
At that, both Natsu and Lysa jumped out of the wagon in sheer happiness.
"FREE!" They both yelled happily.
They had moved onto climbing Mt. Hakobe where Lucy was currently freezing and Lysa and Natsu were just bored.
"Why is it so cold here!? I mean it's summer right now! It shouldn't be so cold! How are you both not freezing!?" Lucy asked as she held her arms, shivering.
"I'm a fire Dragon Slayer. I can't freeze." Natsu answered.
"And I have the fire element running through me," Lysa replied.
"It's your fault for not dressing right." Natsu mentioned.
"Hey, even you didn't dress right. Neither did Lysa!" Lucy snapped, "Hey, you have a blanket! Give it to me!"
Lucy forcefully grabbed Natsu's bag and rummaged through it for a blanket and draped it over herself.
"Oh I know!" Lucy exclaimed, pulling out a silver key, "Open Gate of the Clock Constellation: Horologium!"
A giant grandfather clock with a face appeared and Lucy quickly settled herself inside it.
"Wow, it's a clock!"
"So cool!"
Happy and Natsu gaped at the clock while Lysa just watched on with amusement at the clock. Lucy's mouth moved but they didn't hear anything.
"What? We can't hear you!" Natsu told Lucy.
"I'm staying here and I'm not coming out! She says," Horologium repeated for Lucy.
"Then why'd you even come?" Natsu asked.
"What job brought Macao to a place like this!? She inquires,"
"You came along without even knowing?" Natsu asked. "He came on a job to slay big, vicious creatures called Vulcans."
Natsu turned back and saw Lysa with a distant look on her face as she stared other right. Natsu was going to ask her if she was okay or not, but then Horologium spoke.
"I want to go back to the guild! She proclaims,"
"Go ahead and be my guest, I say back." Natsu says as they continue on the path again.
"MACAO" Natsu exclaimed, "MACAO, WHERE ARE YOU!?"
Lysa looks around with her magic and spots something, "A Vulcan!"
A giant Vulcan jumped down to the two mages' level with a loud thump and looked at Lysa.
"Woman!"
Right when she heard that, the monster triesd to approach her, but then her eyes turned a deadly golden scaring the Vulcan.
"Scary Woman!" The Vulcan said, speeding out behind Lysa and towards a certain blond.
"Lucy, oh no!" Lysa yelled as she and Natsu watched Lucy get taken away by the Vulcan.
"What're you two doing!? Hurry up and save me! She demands."
Lysa just sweatdropped. Natsu on the other hand just out right deadpanned.
Horologium had just been dropped off in an ice cave with the giant snow monkey. Inside, Lucy was having a not so happy day. First the freezing cold. Then being kidnapped by a giant dumb white monkey. And then Horologium disappeared.
Oh joy.
"Hey you can't disappear on me! Come back!" Lucy yelled to the small shine p what was left of Horologium.
"I'm sorry, but my time is up." Horologium's voice echoed.
"No! Can't I have an extension!?" Lucy cried, swinging her arms.
And all she got was silence. For the most part.
"Hey, monkey! Tell me where Macao is!" Natsu yelled as he scurried in with Lysa following only to fall face first into the ice.
"You're for the theatrics, aren't you?" Lysa questioned Natsu as she took up a fighting stance.
"Yeah, I agree with Lysa." Lucy said, nodding furiously.
In just a second, Natsu was back up on his feet. Natsu hurried over towards the Vulcan.
"Hey, tell me where Macao is!? He's a human man!"
The Vulcan seemed confused for a moment before speaking, "man?"
Natsu looked overjoyed. Apparently, the pink haired boy thought the giant stupid monkey knew where Macao was. "See! He knows where Macao is!"
The Vulcan motioned for Natsu to follow him as he walked towards the big opening in the ice. Natsu followed it and just when he stood right before the hole...
Lysa's eyes widened, "Natsu wait!"
...The Vulcan pushed Natsu off the ledge.
"Natsu!" Lucy exclaimed.
Lysa just stood there as her eyes were hidden underneath her bangs and her magical aura suddenly increased.
"Her magic power. It's capacity just went to the extremes!" Lucy noted, "But how...?"
Lysa raised her head, revealing golden eyes with the butterfly symbol bursting in the left eye.
"Bad move, Snow Monkey." She said. Lysa disappeared in a blur of blue towards the monkey and kicked it square in the chest, sending it flying back just from sore momentum.
"She didn't use magic!?" Lucy squealed in awe as she watched Lysa leap in front of the Vulcan and punch it into the ice creating a giant shockwave.
"H-how...?" Lucy whispered, watching the blue haired girl back away from the Vulcan in victory. That was when the Vulcan started glowing and turned into a middle aged man with raven hair and a moustache. But before either one of the girls could question this, a flame erupted outside as a blur of pink jumped into the ice cavern.
"Where'd the Vulcan go?" Natsu asked, looking around for the giant monkey which was oh so gently throttled to the ground a few minutes ago.
"Lysa beat it and it turned into that man," Lucy explained pointing at the raven haired man.
The three stared at the man for a man.
And stared some more.
And stared some more.
"Macao!" Natsu and Happy exclaimed and they both instantly made a run towards the fallen man. Once Lysa and Lucy heard that name they shared a small glance before diving behind the pink haired boy and the blue flying feline.
Natsu kneeled beside Macao and tried to gently shake him awake. "Hey Macao! Wake up! You can't just stay here! Romeo and the whole guild is waiting for you to get back! Wake up!"
The man groggily urged his eyes open and it was quite clear that Macao was struggling to stay conscious. "I beat nineteen of them but the last one got me. I'm so pitiful."
"Pitiful?" Lysa scoffed as all attention turned towards her. "There's nothing pitiful about you. You beat 19 of those damned things! Normal mages struggle to beat even one! Romeo's out there desperately waiting for you! You have a son who knows just how awesome you are! I'd like to see how many people are out there that could defeat as many vulcans as you did cause I really don't think there are that many. So don't you dare say you're pitiful. I know we don't know each other but I'm just saying this as a fellow human being. For all the people who weren't able to learn magic, hold your head up high because you saved them from having to deal with these monsters."
Macao kept a steady gaze for a while before looking down, away from Lysa's blue orbs, "What's your name?"
Lysa simply stared at him for a moment before breaking into a sheepish smile, "I forgot to introduce myself, didn't I?" She dropped the sheepish smile and took on a more polite one, "My name is Lysa Cynthia. It's nice to finally meet you. I'm a new member if Fairy Tail."
Macao grinned, "Name's Macao Conbolt. Nice to meet you as well, Lysa." He then turned his head to the blonde who stood at the back with a small smile. "And who might you be?"
Lucy looked surprised for a moment before smiling cheerfully, "My name's Lucy Heartfillia! Pleasure to meet you!"
"Same here, Lucy." Macao smiled.
Romeo sat as tears fell out of his eyes and he furiously rubbed at them, trying to conceal them.
"Yo!"
That voice. He held his head up and stared at the five figures heading towards him. One of them unmistakably familiar. Romeo jumped at the sight as Macao placed a hand on his son's head and ruffled his hair.
"Dad!" Romeo yelled in happiness, "You're back!"
"Course I am!" Macao grinned, "If any of your friends come and annoy you again, make sure to ask them if their dads can defeat 19 Vulcans like yours can."
Lysa watched the exchange between the two and a strange feeling welled up inside her. She was happy for them yet she couldn't help but feel jealous. Natsu caught her staring at the duo of father and son asked, "Pleasant sight, isn't it?"
"Hm." Lysa hummed in agreement.
"Ya know..." Natsu drawled out, looking at both Lysa and Lucy, "Fairy Tail is family and now..." He placed his arms around the two girl's shoulders with a large grin, "you're a part of the family as well!"
Realisation crept up to her in an instant after that was said. That's right. Lysa had joined Fairy Tail, the most rowdiest and strongest guild in Fiore. They treated each other like family and they even accepted a girl like her into their family. They cared for each other and helped each other out whenever it was needed.
Natsu stomped out of the guild right after Romeo. The black haired boy was looking sullen as he walked slowly. Stuck in thoughts filled with sadness and regret. But then, a hand found it's way onto his head and Romeo looked up to find the smiling and reassuring face of Natsu who then walked out in front him, leaving a silent message.
They comforted each other.
Macao watched with an astounded gaze as Natsu kept on explaining to him how awesome Macao was for destroying that many vulcans and how much Romeo just wanted his father back thee with him. A smile made its way up to his face.
Lysa couldn't help it as a smile crept into her own face. It was just like that day.
She had found true family once again.
