DevilishPixelation1006: I was wondering when somebody would say that.
Guest: Thanks!
I have just learned that The Batman is getting a March 2022 release date instead of October 2021 now. COVID really is the worst, huh?
Song of the Chapter: Gotham's Reckoning by Hans Zimmer
I own nothing but the story.
He was out the next night as well, running across rooftops, looking for criminals.
"Where are you?" he said to himself. He knew they were there. It was Gotham. They were known for the amount of criminals they had running rampant through the streets.
He put his hand to the ears on his cowl and adjusted the small dials on it. Bats used echolocation to get around. While he couldn't quite do that, he could enhance the cowl sensitivity to sound. He didn't use it much since he could hear a mouse scurrying in the wall and think it was a criminal sneaking around. Now, though, he was sure there was something because he couldn't see anything.
He immediately heard sounds coming from a building nearby. He looked around and saw that it was coming from Wayne Enterprises. He walked to the edge of the roof and lenses popped in front of his eyes, zooming in. He saw three men on a ledge, breaking the window next to them.
The lenses retracted and he pulled out his grappling gun. He aimed it and fired, the hook burying itself into the ledge. The criminals didn't notice, because they had already gone inside. He pressed a button, and it pulled him all the way to the ledge and broken window. He silently walked inside and saw that they were heading to a section of the building where old machines were stored. The ones that could be useful in the future.
He hid in the shadows, watching them. He was going to catch them, but first he was using this moment to see if there were any flaws in his security system.
They cracked the code and then walked in. There weren't too many security measures, as the place needed to be easier for the ones with clearance to access. Most of the machines in there had potential to be used during emergencies, so it had to be able to be used easily.
He walked in silently and saw them looking through the things in there. He figured that they were just thugs looking for whatever could be worth something.
Suddenly, he heard one say "I've got it. Let's get out of here."
They were going for the door when he stepped out of the shadows. "That doesn't belong to you," he said.
"Who are you supposed to be?" one asked.
"H - He's the one everyone's been talking about," another said. "The Batman."
He threw his fist at that person and they crumpled to the floor. The one who asked who he was grabbed a device and threw it at him. He caught it and threw a batarang at him, pinning him to a shelf. He heard one behind him, and punched him. A piece of a machine was in his hands and he picked it up. It was a piece of a machine that was made by his father. It was designed to turn a formula or chemical into a gas and spread it over the city in case of an outbreak of some sort of disease. The pieces were spread out across the city in different buildings owned by Wayne Enterprises. They had to be hard to access, because anyone could put a toxin in the device and kill millions.
He looked at the criminals on the floor around him and realized that this was one part of a bigger plot. Someone wanted to use the device, and he didn't think it was to cure the city of a disease.
Suddenly, the piece was taken from his hand. He looked around, and saw nobody. Then he saw something run towards the window. He looked at them and saw it was a man in an orange and black suit. He wore a mask with two eyepieces on different colored sides. One was black, and one was orange. He leapt out the window, a sword in his hand.
Batman quickly ran to the broken window, watching the man use the blade to stop his fall, burying it into the side of the building. He pulled it from the wall and ran to another rooftop. Batman used the grappling gun to get to him, and landed in front of him. "Who are you?" he asked.
The man said nothing, instead running at him with his sword. He swiped it at him, and Batman dodged, going to the side. Batman threw a batarang at him, which the man deflected with his sword. He punched him in the stomach, and then in the side. The man slashed at him again, feinting a strike, instead going for his leg. His blade hit, making a deep cut on his left calf. Batman groaned in pain and fell to his knee.
"So you're the Batman everyone's been talking about," the man said. "They made you sound like someone to be feared."
He put his blade to Batman's neck, and said "I'm afraid that I'm not very afraid."
Batman pressed a button on his glove, and smoke erupted from the sword, the man's stomach, and his side, clouding his vision. Batman then put his hand to his eyes, and the lenses popped out, showing him where the man was through thermal vision. Spikes popped out from the side of his forearm, and he moved them so the sword was in between two of them. He moved his arm back, and disarmed the man, the sword flying back.
He punched the man across his face, and then kneed him in his stomach. He kicked him away, and shot the spikes from his forearm, pinning the man to the ground.
"I stand corrected," the man said. "You are a force to be reckoned with."
"Who are you?" Batman asked him.
"A simple man with a larger purpose."
He pulled a small blade out and pulled the spikes from the ground, breaking free. He ran at his sword, and stabbed Batman in the side when he moved to stop him. He picked it up, and leapt from the rooftop. Batman pulled the blade from his side and ran to the edge, but the man was gone. He looked at the blade and saw that there was some sort of symbol.
"Who are you?" Batman said to himself.
Who is he?
I really enjoy hearing what people think of my stories, be it good or bad, so it'd be nice if you left a review.
