Secrets, Lies, and Everything Else Chapter 1: "New Year, Same Troubles"
Heyo! What's this? A new fanfiction for the MLB fandom? Lol. XD
Will continue if people like the story...if they don't...I guess this will just be a very weird one-shot. :I
Alya closed her locker door, "So, what new stuff are you trying out this year?"
Marinette blinked at her, grabbing her own stuff out of her locker, "What do you mean?"
Alya crossed her arms, "Seriously girl? You've gotta at least try something new! There's tons of new clubs, why don't you join one?"
Marinette shrugged, "I don't really want to. Plus, I've still gotta make Adriens 60th birthday gift, and I need to design a new cover for Jagged Stone's latest album-"
"Hold up, Adrien's 60th birthday?! The dude just turned 15! That's ages away!"
"I know, but I like planning stuff ahead of time." Marinette smiled sheepishly.
Alya face-palmed, "See, this is why you should join one of the clubs. Come on! It'll be fun!"
"I'm busy." Marinette said, which actually wasn't a total lie. How would she focus on her career as Ladybug, if she had even more stuff to do? She could barely fit everything into her schedule.
"Fine, if you're not joining a club, at least join the yearbook committee. I'll be in it. We'll work together!"
Marinette frowned, "I already told you Alya, I'm busy."
"I saw Adrien's name on the sign up sheet!" Alya said in a sing-song voice. She wiggled her eyebrows up and down.
Marinette groaned, turning around to stare at the sign-up sheet. Adrien's name was printed in neat handwriting at the top of the list, followed by a few other students. Marinette recognized Alya, Ivan, Rose, Juleka, Marc, Nathaniel, and a few others. Further down, she spotted Kagami's name.
"Forget it." Marinette muttered.
"Uh-uh, no way you're missing this opportunity." Alya signed Marinette's name on the paper.
Marinette yelped, "Nonononono! What are you doing!" She tugged on her sleeve, "Erase it! Before he sees!"
"Before who sees?"
Marinette screamed.
Adrien laughed, "Sorry, didn't mean to startle you."
"Hey Adrien! Look! Marinette ALSO signed up for the yearbook committee! What are the odds?!" Alya elbowed Marinette, who glared at her.
"Cool." Adrien said causally, "Guess we'll be working together."
"No!" Marinette blurted out.
"Huh? So you...don't want to work with me?" Adrien asked innocently.
Marinette face-palmed in embarrassment.
"What Marinette means to say is, that she'd love to work with you, RIGHT?"
Marinette bobbed her head up and down quickly before she made a mistake.
As soon as Adrien left, Marinette grabbed an eraser and tried erasing her name.
"Why won't it come off?!"
Alya smirked, "I wrote it in pen."
Marinette complained, "I am so dead."
"No you won't! It'll be fun!"
"No, I'll tell you exactly what it'll be like!" Marinette spoke in a deeper voice, supposedly resembling Adrien, 'Hey Marinette, wanna hang out?' And then I'll say: 'Uh-I-I-blehblehblehblehblahhh.'" Marinette pretended to faint.
Alya laughed, "That's why I'll be there!"
"Yeah, but Kagami-"
"If it helps, I'll invite Luka-"
"NO! Adrien probably already thinks I'm crazy, and I most definitely don't want Luka to think that I'm crazy too!"
"Nobody thinks you're crazy! This is perfect for you two to get closer! At least try it, okay?" Alya asked.
Marinette sighed, "Fine."
;.;.;.;.;.;. ❤️ ADRIEN ❤️ .;.;.;.;.;.;
(Time skip to the end of the day)
"Okay class, that's it for today!" Ms. Bustier said cheerfully as the bell rang.
"Bye Ms. Bustier." Everyone replied, heading out the door.
Plagg floated above his owner's head, "I honestly don't get why you're joining the yearbook committee. Between fencing, school, photo shoots, and being Chat Noir, when will you find the time?!"
Adrien shrugged, "It sounded fun, so I signed up. And Kagami and Marinette will be there. Nino said he's gonna go too."
Plagg rolled his eyes. At least if Marinette would go, then he'd be able to talk with Tikki, but that was like the only good thing about this. Plagg whined, "But then you'll have less time to look after me. Who's going to being me cheese?! Hm?!"
"Get your own cheese."
"Whatever. If someone gets akumatized and you can't save them, I'm blaming you."
"That won't happen, I'm super careful."
Adrien narrowly avoided tripping over someone's book on the ground.
"You were saying?"
"A coincidence." Adrien argued.
"Mhhm."
Marinette panted, running straight into Adrien, "Aaaaah!"
= CRASH! =
"Wow, real smooth." Plagg's voice was muffled from inside Adrien's pocket.
"Ugh, stop just standing there! Move out of the way!" Marinette said, looking up. Then she noticed who she was talking to.
"Oh-uh-oops-uh- h-hi Adrien! I...didn't see you there..." She glanced at him apologetically, "I was in a rush. I dropped my History book around here, and now I can't find it."
Tikki honestly didn't know what was up with that history book, but Marinette somehow always managed to lose it.
"Oh, was this was yours?" Adrien asked, handing her the book.
"Yeah." Marinette blushed, putting it back inside her bag, "Well...see ya."
"Bye, Marinette." Adrien waved.
"Bye." Marinette whispered, before walking away.
;.;.;.;.;.;. ❤️ LILA ❤️ .;.;.;.;.;.;
Lila scowled, twirling a strand of hair around her finger as she watched them from the hallway. Marinette was so pathetic. She'd tell Adrien about Marinette, but honestly, she didn't think that the girl deserved the attention. For once, maybe she agreed with Chloe on something. Maybe. She would figure out other ways to destroy her.
This was going to be her masterpiece.
"I told you I'd make your life miserable, Marinette Dupain-Cheng. And for once, I wasn't lying." She grinned, watching as Marinette exited the school building.
Yeah so um that was it...tell me what you thought maybe? For those of you MariChat shippers, there will be more MariChat in the near future (If I continue)
Don't forget to review, follow, and fav! :) ;D
