Song of the Chapter: Old Tech by Alan Silvestri
I own nothing but the story.
Two figures were in a small, wooden hideout in a village. One was wearing a hoodie and seated in front of green holographic displays, and the other was standing up and wearing a mask.
"This is bad," the hooded one said.
"You think?" said the masked one. "The web's taking a lot right now. And those vampire people aren't helping."
"We have to get the web back in a stable position," said the other. "It's time to bridge them, but - "
"But what?"
They sighed. "Can those four even stand up to a threat of this scale? This is huge, and there is no room for error."
"Well, that's all we got," the masked one said.
"I beg to differ," said a new voice. The door opened, and a new figure walked in.
The one in the hoodie up and drew a green blade. "Who are you?"
They raised their hands. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, relax. I come in peace."
They sat down and said "So, you having problems with the different universes?"
"How do you know?" the masked one asked.
They pulled out a pencil. "You think you're the only one with the kind of power you have?"
The hooded one was silent for a bit, staring at them. "You're also a - "
"Yup."
They waved the pencil in circular motions around them. Holes opened up behind them.
The hooded one was confused. "Who are you?"
Light shone onto some of their body. They were smiling. "Call me … the Presence. And I'm here to help you with this problem."
