Chapter 1

Tara woke up after not getting much sleep. Jax and the guys went inside two weeks ago for a fourteen month sentence. She couldn't believe that he was going to miss her entire pregnancy and that he'd miss Abel growing up. Most importantly she didn't know how'd she do it on her own.

Gemma would always be willing to help but she needed space from the matriarch. They were working on their relationship but it was far from steady or strong. Tara knew Gemma would want a say in everything and she needed to lay down some ground rules before things even had a chance to start up.

She heard Abel start fussing so she figured she should get up and start her day. Walking into the nursery she couldn't help but smile. This little boy was her entire world and she was so happy to be his mother. She picked him and held him against her while swaying back and forth. Neeta had to quit unexpectedly last week after her mother fell ill and needed to be cared for. Tara wasn't sure what to do for full time care.

Once he was calm she changed him and got him ready for the day. She made her way out to the kitchen and started on breakfast for the two of them. She couldn't believe that she was going to be bringing another baby into the world.

Thinking of her baby she placed a hand on her stomach that had started to form a bump. She knew it was a boy with all of her heart. She went through her usual motions and by lunch time was started to get antsy. Abel has just gone down for a nap and the house was quiet. This was the worst time for her. Her mind would just think and go into overdrive. Lately her mind wandered to the day before Jax left for Ireland. The pain of him cheating still hurt her heart.

If she was being honest with herself she knew that their relationship was not as strong as either of them liked to think. She knew they were not a conventional couple, a doctor and an outlaw. The two of them were to much for each other most days or more so not enough for each other.

They had work to do as individuals and she was going to work on herself. But she did love him and she knew he loved her. The pain would subside eventually but she also knew she needed something for herself. She needed to be happy.

She was missing something. Tara had done well most of her life being a loner but what she truly craved was companionship with someone who could understand her and balance her out. Someone who didn't belong to a club or have other responsibilities essentially. She needed a bestfriend.

Where was she supposed to find a friend? Work wasn't an option, everyone she worked with was older or if they were her age they only wanted to hang out with her in order to have an "in" with the guys at the clubhouse. She knew she had a friend in Opie but he didn't really count.

She continued through the motions that had become her life. The following day she headed into work after an awful morning with Gemma. Jackson's mother had arrived at 6:30 and started pointing out everything Tara had not done in terms of cleaning the house.

Tara knew her blood pressure was high because Gemma just couldn't understand that with Tara working 60 hours a week the last thing she gave a rats ass about was whether the kitchen smelt like fresh lemons or not.

She decided to stop at the small cafe by the hospital for a iced tea before her shift. She was so far in her own thoughts that she walked in and completely collided with someone.

"I'm so sorry!" She started to say. She heard a small airy laugh and looked up to see a small long haired brunette girl smiling at her.

"Don't worry about it. It's usually me walking into people" she spoke with a smile.

Tara felt like maybe just maybe the universe had thrown what she'd needed into her orbit.

"I'm Tara." Extending her hand.

"Katherine." The girl shook her hand.

"Let me replace that drink please." Tara spoke while noticing the large iced beverage had spilled onto the floor. When the girl had protested Tara insisted and went to the counter. She paid for both drinks and Katherine had thanked her.

"Are you new to Charming? I haven't seen you around before." Tara spoke while the two walked out into the morning air.

"I've been here a couple months. I was a long term substitute at the elementary school. Not sure what I'll be doing next since I don't have a full time position yet." Kristen spoke with a small shrug and still remained to smile.

With out much thought Tara had started talking again "I have a son that could really use a sitter. I work at the hospital full time so..."

Kristen smiled so big "Really!? That would be amazing I was a nanny all through college. Actually preferred it over teaching in the schools."

Tara was thrilled. Maybe she'd get a friend and a great caretaker for Abel in the process.

"Let me get your number and I'll call you when I'm off. Maybe you can come by tomorrow for dinner and meet the little guy."

The two exchanged numbers and went on their ways. Tara walked into the hospital with a whole new attitude. She felt really good about this.
