Back into a small section of D.C, there was a small apartment complex. Clio wandered around for a bit. She glanced at a family photo of her and her parents and sighed sadly.
"Mama...Daddy….I miss you" She sighed. Then two doves flew towards her and She nuzzled them and turned on the T.V. and Hearts in Seoul was on. As she watched the couple getting together a few tears slipped from her green eyes
"You know Princess and Prince, I wish love would happen to me like that…" then a beeping noise came from her desk nearby.
"Alright...Let's do this thing…" Clio wandered over to her table and stared at a circular device that was small and flat and beeping a green light
"Okay commencing test of camouflage camera number 75 batch 3" Clio spoke in melancholy. She walked over towards a virtual reality headset and headphones and whistled.
"Princess, Prince…" the two doves flew to the teen. "Can I put this on one of you?" one of the doves with a pink feather approaches her. "Thank you, Princess...Here's something for both of you" Clio leaves out some chopped vegetables and fruit in front of them and they hungrily dug in. Clio placed the device on her head and asked Princess to fly around.
"The camera's clear...placing it into 480p…Princess, chirp for me…" Clio commanded. Princess chirped and the audio came in clear.
"Audio's clear. Princess, come…" the dove flew back to her and Clio took off the camera and smiled.
"It worked….It worked...it worked...it worked…" Clio squealed in utter joy, scaring her birds. "Sorry, But I'm just really really excited…" then a knock on the door was heard. Clio trotted over to the door and looked through the peephole. A redheaded boy was holding a box and a bouquet. Clio gasped and opened the door
"James…" The two shared a quick hug and kissed each other on the cheek. James looked around her place
"Ooh, girl...Look at this…"
"Yeah...I'm still at this whole science thing…What's all that for you're carrying…"
"Well...Happy early birthday Clio…" James presented his gifts.
"Jamie...You know my birthday isn't until Friday…"
"I know but I needed to get you this before it was sold out in your size…" James shoved the boxed towards her
"Well thank you...You can put the flowers in the vase over there…" Clio pointed to an empty vase with a dove design on it.
Then Prince and Princess flew past James. "Hello Prince and Princess"
"They love it when you come over…"
"Well, aren't you going to open it...Your present…" Clio opened the pink box and took out the jumpsuit and gasped. It was a black jumpsuit with multiple patterns and colors(Think Eleven's jumpsuit from Stranger Things).
"Jami...This is beautiful...It's expensive...how did you get this?!" Clio covered her mouth, seeing how beautiful the jumpsuit looked
"You know the whole drag race job that I had...The pay is excellent, and I managed to snag the last one…"
"Thank you so so much…" Clio hugged James.
"What are you waiting for….Go try it on...I didn't buy it for you to just stand there and gawk at it…" Clio went into her bedroom and came back with the jumpsuit on.
"Oh my goodness...You look stunning…" James applauded while Prince and Princess trilled in approval.
"You think so?" Clio shrank.
"Oh course...That's what best friends are for...Check the pockets, there's more…."
Clio checked the pockets and found a necklace with her name on it. It was gold and her name was in cursive and there was a crown on the C.
"May I…" Clio lifted her long hair so he could put it on her neck. Then she checked the other pocket and gasped. "You're taking me bowling…"
"Yup…"
"You lugnut...I love bowling…" Clio jumped up and down excitedly
"So Wednesday night…"
"Wednesday…Thanks so much, James...You're a good friend…"
"Honey you know I'm always here for you…" Clio smiled. James left her apartment and she sat down and sighed. Her doves noticed her gloom and went up to her.
"Why is James so sweet...Hey Princess and Prince...Remember the time that I told you that I tried to ask out James...He came out to me that day...Don't get me wrong...I have nothing against it...He's still my best friend no matter what...I just couldn't believe it...Wanna keep watching Hearts in Seoul?" Clio turned on her T.V. again and continued to watch T.V., not knowing someone with pink was watching her from the window
One week later
The next morning Walter Beckett and Lance Sterling head to work at H.T.U.V in Lance's car.
The agency was pretty busy in the morning with everyone coming in and getting scanned in. One of the security guards had an alarm on her computer that showed that Walter and Lance were coming.
When the duo came in...Cheers and applause came in every direction. Walter wasn't too fond of all of the attention being on him, but Lance, however, was used to the attention.
"Thank you...Thank you….Oh, you're too kind...It's like Paparazzi in here" Lance gloated. All Walter could do was shyly wave at the cheering crowd.
They make their way towards Joy Jenkin's office
"Good work Sterling and Beckett…" their boss praised
"Ah, it's-it's nothin...Just that serious string got em and flying in the car" Lance boosted
Then Marcy slowly walked into the office and cleared her throat. "Lance…"
"Then then there was the skrrt skrrt of the car and backup arrived just in time to the party-"
"LANCE!" Walter and Marcy shouted, finally getting Lance's attention
"Do you have an explanation as to why there are only 2 briefcases out of the 3?"
Lance stopped sipping on his coffee and took a look at the 2 briefcases
"Well for a fact" A redheaded woman came in with glasses. "This took place at exactly 10 minutes after we caught Wallis and his henchmen."
Eyes pulled up a computer that Marcy, Walter, Lance, and the rest of the co-workers in the office could see the footage.
They spotted the red-tailed hawk going inside the car and taking the briefcase and flying away
"Wait, freeze that image…" Marcy ordered Eyes, which she did so
"Yo, that's a sick bird" Ears commented. Marcy took a closer look at the bird and the briefcase
"Yo Marc...You recognize that bird…" Lance asked
"No, but somehow the briefcase looks familiar...Eyes, enhance that image."
Eyes enhanced the image to make the image clear.
"It was the same briefcase that was in the car we chased…" Marcy whispered.
"What's in the briefcase?" Lance asked.
"Well, all I know is that it contains a chemical that can control a human's brain and manipulate them like a puppet…" Joy told him. "The only thing is that we don't know what chemicals are in it…"
"We need a chemical whiz for this…" Ears spoke. On cue, Marcy's phone ran sn she answered it.
"Hello...You got expelled...Alright, I'll be right over...and you better have an explanation…"
"Marc...I didn't know you have a kid…"
"Ears...I don't have kids...I have a niece…" Marcy remarked.
"Why did she get expelled?" Walter asked.
"That's why I'm on my way to ask her…"
When Marcy, Lance, and Walter got to school, Marcy went into the office and met a nervous Clio
She had her hair down and sported a white lab coat covered in red, blue, green, and yellow splotches. Underneath she wore a white t-shirt with a dark green and red peace sign and gray plaid pants with a black belt.
"What happened this time?" Marcy rubbed her temples
"Experiment gone wrong…" then a girl with a uniform burst out in anger
"This freako made me bald…" the girl screamed pointing at Clio
"I didn't make you bald...I warned you not to touch my experiments… your hair is right here" Clio had a handful of blonde hair in her palms.
"So your experiment made a girl bald…"
"Well…." then 2 more girls came out bald sneering at her.
"Woah…" Lance and Walter were stunned.
"First of all how did this happen…"
"Remember that experiment I showed you last week, The girls tried to mess with the tungsten carbide by adding a metal into it and it went horribly wrong and that happened….I told them not to touch it…"
"Clio…"
"Aunt Marcy I swear I didn't mean it...I just have to figure out a way to reverse it and I haven't figured it out yet…"
"Yet...You better do it right now…" the girls marched up to her
"I'm sorry okay it's just...Science is trial and error and that was a complete error and I just have to know how to fix it and it takes time…"
One of the girls was about to pounce on her until she was hit with something and the three girls were tranquilized, thanks to Lance
"Okay...How do your experiments end up so chaotic?" Walter asked.
"I don't know...I was still working on it and then something was in it...I left for a second to get my tools and then I came back and the girls were bald like that…"
"Girl...Your science stuff needs help" Lance told her
"It's Clio...I know...Maybe I've been reading my book wrong…"
"Book?" Clio presented them with a large book.
"This book is every aspiring chemist and scientist's best friend...At least that's what my professor told me...I read it 5 times a week...All of it and memorized every single chemical table, every experiment done by previous scientists, and best of all most inventions that have not been made yet…" Clio blurted.
This left the agents confused as well as Walter who stood in bewilderment
"Okay Okay...Maybe I got too enthusiastic...so this book helped me with most of the experiments I've been doing here at the school" Clio made her point
"Ok, Clio...I know you want to make it in the science chemistry world but it's just not easy…"
"I know…"
"Sometimes you can't rely on books like these...Just please for my sake...Stay out of trouble...I'll take you home okay…"
Clio sighed in disappointment and left with Marcy. Walter couldn't help but feel bad for her. He knew what it was like to be looked down upon, especially at a young age.
As Marcy drove Clio home, the young adult stared out the window. She didn't want her science to cause harm...It was the wrong chemicals that caused the harm.
As she gazed at the window she saw a man with pink eyes. She took a glance at him and suddenly he looked straight at her. A chill went down Clio's spine and her gaze went straight ahead.
After Marcy dropped her off back at the apartment, She got ready for her bowling night with her friend James. She placed the jumpsuit on her and placed her long hair into a high bun and placed some silver hoops on her ears. Then a knock on the door was heard
"Happy Birthday...Clio…" James called from the door. She immediately lets him in
"You ready to go…"
"There's something I gotta show you first…" Clio shows them the camera she was working on
"What do you think huh…"
"What is it?" James asked
"It's a miniature camera and microphone, take off your jean jacket." James did as he was told and Clio placed on the camera and it blended in with the light blue color
"OMG…"
"Right...Put this on…" Clio placed the virtual reality device on her friends head and ran towards the camera and waved
"Hey the camera on her is really good…" James exclaimed
"Can you hear me?"
"Loud and clear…" James took off the device from his head and met his friend. "I think this one is your best one yet…"
"Thank you…"
"Now Are you ready…"
"Let's do this...I'll be back Princess and Prince...Please be good…" the birds trilled and waved her off.
When they got to the bowling alley everything was in full swing.
"Wow...This is amazing…" Clio complimented
"Our spot is over there…"
"James Darling…" a voice called. A group of people waved them over from the corner
"Aah, my good friends…"
"So this is the darling Clio you told us about... happy 18th…" a man told her and kissed her knuckles
"Thank you…" Clio looked down shyly
"Clio this here is my boyfriend Phillip…" James cuddled next to the shorter man.
"Pleasure to meet you…" Clio smiled.
"So I heard you were in a science school...How's that going for you…" then Clio cringed at this.
"I got expelled…"
"What happened…" a woman asked her
"Experiment gone wrong…"
"People don't know that science and chemistry are not perfect…"
"Thank you…I tell people at the school that all the time...It's about trial and error…" Clio was happy that someone agreed with her.
"Are we gonna sit here or are we going to bowl…" James announced to the group
"Oh yeah…"
The bowling was a lot of fun, especially for Clio. She tends to use the bumpers when she plays. Phillip thought she was cheating but She told him it was for physics.
By the end they finished playing, They presented her with a cake and a few presents. Clio smiled but then looked over her friend James shoulder as she heard something
"Sir this is a private party you can't-" the employee was shoved out of the way as a man came towards the group. It was the same man that stared at Clio out of the window
"Hey man this is a private party we don't allow what you just did over here" James confronted the man
The man didn't say anything, making Clio more scared. His light pink irises made him almost dead and zombie-like. Then he suddenly tried to grab for Clio, but James grabbed him
"You get away from her…" James yelled, punching him. Then the man turned to him and grabbed him by the jacket collar and dragged him away
"Let go of me you prick…" then the man started to choke James
"Let him go…" Clio shouted. The man turned sharply around, pulled out a gun, and tried to shoot at Clio, but the bullet grazed her cheek.
"Whoever works here shut this place down…" Clio shouted. Then the man began to pick up the pace dragging her friend out of the door with Clio following after them
"CLIO…" James shouted before the doors could shut
"Jamie...JAMIE...Jamie…" her shouts were ignored when her friend was dragged into a black car. Clio looked very closely at the license plate and it read POELAB
She quickly picked up her phone. "Aunt Marcy...Please help...I'm in trouble"
