On the private jet, Clio glanced at the concoction and she tried to use the same chemicals she theorized would be in there, radium and rhodium and hydrogen.

"Come on...One last attempt... For James…" Clio had her goggles on and latex gloves on and she tried to mixed the two ingredients together to try to get the same pink color and effect… but then the radium and hydrogen didn't mix and it melted in the bathroom sink

"Aww, man…." Clio sighed disappointedly. Then a knock on the door, startling her lightly

"Clio...Are you doing okay?" Clio recognized that voice.

"Yes, Walter I'm okay...I'm coming out…" Clio came out of the bathroom and sat nearby him, taking off her goggles, and her scrunchie, letting down her very long hair. Walter saw her panicked face

"Are you sure you're okay…" Walter reached out to her

"This doesn't make any sense...I can't get it to match the same as the chemical whoever made it….I tried it but it just doesn't work...they have to be using something else...Something to make that hypnotical….chemical...It has to be something in there...Maybe my calculation isn't right but I know it has to be something-" Clio ranted. Prince and Princess sensed their owner's distress and flew to her and landed on her head

"Hey hey hey...You're doing amazing...We just gotta figure out what's in the chemicals...Let me see."

"I wouldn't do that Walter...You might wanna look in the bathroom…" Lance pointed and Walter saw what he was talking about.

"Oh…"

"See They have to be using something else...Have to be…" then a hand went on her shoulder.

"Hey, You can do this Clio….Maybe you should take a break...You've been at this since last night…" Marcy told her niece.

"Yeah...Wanna watch Hearts in Seoul…" Walter suggested, making Clio gasp.

"You watch it too…" Clio watched with her eager emerald green eyes looking at Walter as he set it up for her.

"Yeah...Do you…."

"All the time…"

Once Walter had everything set up. They both watched it but the internet was wonky.

"I got this...I do this when my internet goes out in my apartment. Clio takes out a small squared device and places it on the side of Walter's mobile lab and the internet was working.

"I call this… The Anywhere Hotspot…" Clio announced.

"Very effective…" Lance said on his phone.

"Thank you...Sometimes I think my devices aren't the best…" then Walter placed his hand in hers.

"Hey...Your inventions are amazing...and something else...Your-Your beautiful…"

Clio looked into Walter's light blue eyes and their eyes met. This made Walter blush and more so Clio blush.

"Thank you, Walter…" Clio sheepishly replied Walter smiled back at her as they both watched the show together. Lance smiled, seeing a connection between the two scientists. Walter slowly wrapped his arm around her with his hand hanging. Then Clio took her hand and placed her hand with his.

Marcy saw this too and a smile formed on her face. "My niece found love…" She thought

"Uh oh...We about to arrive in Brazil...Just in time for Carnival too…" Lance glanced out of the window. Clio and Walter glanced at each other, smiling, and looked out of the window.

The next morning they arrived at the hotel. They were all dressed in Hawaiian shirts and jeans except for Clio

"Why did we all go for the same thing?" Lance asked Walter

"Because you're posing as a family on vacation…" Walter whispered

"Keep your eyes open Clio…" Marcy told the child.

Clio nodded and looked around. As much as the hotel was beautiful, it was also huge. She tried to look for people with pink eyes

"Did they say who the target was…" Lance asked Clio. She shook her head

"It could be anyone...Please keep a lookout...Backup has this place surrounded…" Marcy instructed.

"Hey, you wanna hit the pool?" Clio turned around to see a young woman with red hair in a pink bathing suit, holding her hand out for her. Clio saw that her eyes were pink like the chemicals

"Why...why don't I take you somewhere, Besides, I know a better spot…" Clio argued

"I insist, I just love the pool…"

"Oh no...Really I feel like the beach is better, the nice waves and even the song The Girl from Ipanema might play there...you know Tall and Tan and young and lovely The girl from Ipanema goes walking in…and besides I'm not even dressed." Clio replied

Then She felt the girl clinging very hard to her wrist trying to tug her. "Let me go, mam," the young woman screamed.

"Walter, get the serious string," Marcy told him. Walter tossed her the serious string and sprayed the girl's legs.

"Get them…" the girl screamed. The group began to run towards the entrance and Clio whimpered as she saw a group of people that had pink eyes like the woman run after them. Then Clio had an idea

She took out her chemo balls and tossed them at the people, making a mist temporarily blinding the people.

"HA ha nice shot…" Lance told her. Then Clio heard a woman scream and she turned to see a lady with a stroller with a familiar man tugging at her.

"James…" James turned to his friend with pink eyes. He roughly pushed the woman aside and tried to go for her. Clio luckily dodged his moves.

"JAMES…" She tried to call him to get his attention. He grabbed a pole nearby him and began to swing at her, trying to knock her out

"JAMES It's me…" She screamed. Then she took a pocket knife out of her shorts and began to combat him. With every swing, Clio blocked it with her knife.

"JAMES STOP…" She cried once more. Then finally he swung the knife out of her hands and grabbed it. Clio tried to run but James grabbed her long hair, making her fall to the ground. Clio flipped to her back and tried to crawl backward away from her friend.

James pulled her back to him and tried to get on top of her, trying to rip her shorts.

"JAMES STOP IT…" Clio heard her shorts rip and she threw the chemical ball into his eyes, making him yell. He blindly tried to grab for her, tearing her pink shirt in the process.

"CLIO RUN…" She heard Walter yell. Colorful smoke began to surround her and yells of Yay were heard. It was blinding to her as she couldn't find a way out. Dazed and confused, she tried to find a way out.

"Walter, where are you…" She screamed. Walter heard her scream and he looked around for her

"CLIO...Follow my voice…" Clio listened and found a gap clearing and began to run towards it. But before she could make her way out, she was tripped and she fell on her back. James loomed over her with her knife. Just as James was about to slit Clio's throat, she grabbed the knife and held it to James instead. Then she saw the smoke disappearing around her and James.

"Please James it's me, Clio…" The young adult whispered. James' eyes were still pink, looking deep into Clio's emerald green eyes. Then Clio switched the knife to herself

"CLIO…" James suddenly threw the knife away from her. His eyes turned back to normal. They went from pink to a deep ocean blue. James looked at Clio, from her terrified face to her ripped clothing.

"Clio….What have I done?!" Clio opened her eyes and saw that James reverted to normal.

"James…" Clio wrapped her arms around her best friend.

"I'm so sorry Clio…" James whispered. He was sobbing until Clio hushed him

"It's okay...As long as you're okay...I'm okay…" Clio whispered.

"Clio, You're okay…" Marcy ran up to her along with Walter and Lance. "You're James I presume…"

"Clio told me lots about you...Finally an honor…" then gunshots ruined the moment and the group of five race to a corner of the hotel as the gunshots blocked the bullets from hitting them.

"We gotta get out of here…" Walter said. Lance looked around and found an exit not too far from them but the bullets firing at them were a problem.

"There...But we might be biting bullets…" then James began to think.

"Not if they can catch me first…" James spoke up. Clio turned to him.

"No...They'll kill you…"

"It's okay…" then James took something out of his pocket. It was a small dark red box with gold wrapped around it. "Give this to Phillip for me…" he then turned to Walter who was holding Clio's hand. "Take good care of Clio for me 'kay" James spotted a gun nearby his feet. James took a breath and grabbed it.

"On my mark...you guys make a run for that exit…" Clio turned to him.

"What about you…" James turned to her and gave her an embrace. He held onto her as much as he could and she returned it. They finally let go and James picked up the gun and began to go out and shoot

"GO GO Now…." James screamed. The quartet ran for the exit with Clio occasionally looking back and she ducked behind the corner of the exit door, watching James battle the hypnotized citizens.

"James…" Clio silently called. James continued to shoot. "James…" then finally James went down, having taken too many bullets… "JAMES…" Clio screamed seeing her friend go down

"Come on Clio, We have to go…" Marcy called to her niece, grabbing her by the hand. All Clio could do was watch James' lifeless body get shot, making sure he was dead. They luckily weren't spotted and made their escape to one of Lance's boats.

Meanwhile back at the beach house...

"What a mess…" the man said, watching through the security cameras of the hotel. He witnessed the blood of James' body and the way that the hypnotized citizens were about to terrorize the people there until they were stopped. His wife approached him with champagne and lunch.

"Don't you worry about it...We have a supply to get am I correct?" the wife replied.

"Right there's no time to waste...get everyone and everything out of there…"

Meanwhile, on the boat on their way to Austria, Lance, Marcy, and Walter gathered around a door where they heard Clio crying. Eyes and Ears even felt bad after they were told about what happened.

"Clio...We're so sorry about James…" Walter said, leaning towards the door.

"It's my fault he's dead…" Clio spoke roughly through the door.

"No, it isn't your fault…"

"Yes, it is...I should be the one dead at that hotel, not him…" they heard her voice crack, nearly beginning to cry again.

"We should leave her alone…" Marcy told the others. Lance left with her while Walter stayed at the door. Something about her made him not want to give up on her just because she was grieving her only friend. He took a breath and slowly turned the knob, letting himself in the room.

He saw Clio with her head down on the desk where most of her stuff spread out. She luckily changed out of her ripped clothes. She wore a red sweater with a white crochet flower in the middle and it showed her midriff ever so slightly and high-waisted blue jeans. Her hair was in a high ponytail. She slowly turned around and saw him giving out a light gasp.

"It's okay...It's okay...It's me…" Walter had his hands up. Clio wiped her eyes from her tears and sniffled. Walter came over and wrapped his arms around the young adult. Clio had a bit of a jolt so Walter gave her his yellow jacket.

"Th-Thank you…" Clio sniffled once more. Walter noticed that She was holding the same box that James instructed her to give to Phillip.

"What's worse about this is that...James was going to propose to Phillip…" Clio opened the box and a gold band showed brightly. Walter looked at the ring and back at Clio. the young woman then grabbed her ragdoll, Lizzie, and cradled her.

"He was the only friend I've ever had...He was so amazing…"

"I'm so sorry...I want you to know that you're not alone…" Clio looked up at Walter. "I lost my mother while she was on police duty 12 years ago…"

Then Clio wrapped her arms around Walter. "I'm so sorry Walter…"

"It's okay…" Walter rubbed his back. "Guess we both lost someone important to us…"

"Can-Can I confess something…" Clio sniffled. "I wasn't sure if I wanted to do this at first...A lot of people don't take me seriously...I'm just a chemistry student that invents stuff from ordinary things...Now I want to stop those guys more than ever...For James...Oh, what am I saying...I can't do this...I failed to save James…"

Then Walter lifted her chin to meet his face. "Clio...James sacrificed his life to save you...He wants you to do this...He wants you to help us save the world…"

"I just don't want his death to be in vain…"

"It won't be in vain…He died for you…He died to save you…" then a choked cry came from Clio. She wiped her eyes from her round glasses and a small smile appeared on her face

"Okay...I'll do this...I'll do this for James…" Walter replied with a smile of his own.

"That's the spirit…" then Clio's face softened.

"When you said I was beautiful on the plane...Did you mean it?" Clio asked. Walter gently cupped her cheek.

"Of course I do...You are beautiful…" Clio smiled. Slowly but surely, the two young scientists began to pull towards each other like a magnet. When their lips were centimeters apart, thunder roared, making Clio gasp and hug Walter tightly

"Hey what's wrong…" Walter asked. Thunder and lightning answered his question.

"I'm sorry...I'm s-scared of thunder…" Clio stuttered.

"I'm here...that thunder won't touch you" Walter wrapped his jacket around himself and Clio. Then Clio began to giggle.

"This reminds me of the time I was with Aunt Marcy...I was 5 or 6 years old and then when thunder struck...I was so scared and I ran to her arms and she comforted me…" Walter looked down at her and grinned.

"You and Marcy were close…"

"Yeah..but then she just left...and I never knew why...It took me a long while to get her number so I can secretly text her...so we can still have that connection."

Marcy leaned into the door listening to the conversation and a few tears slipped down her face. She walked towards the railing of the boat. Lance noticed and began to approach her.

"Hey uh...What happened back there...I'm sure Clio is a bit better…"

"No, It's...Clio was talking to Walter about a memory...Clio and I used to be very close when She was little…" Marcy took out a picture and showed it to lance. It was a picture of them at a park and little Clio was feeding the pigeons with Marcy watching wholeheartedly.

"What happened…" Lance asked her.

"Well Let's just say her mother got a little jealous that I was spending too much time with Clio and it got ugly from there...A few years ago I found out Clio has my number...that sly girl…I'm just scared for her safety...She's my only family left...I gotta protect her…" Lance had a look of guilt on his face, hearing Marcy open up to him. He placed his large hand into her smaller ones.

"Hey...She can do this...You just gotta trust her...Does Clio know anything about this…" Marcy shook her head.

"I want to tell her so badly…but right now this mission is important and the last thing I want Clio to be is more hurt than she already is…"

Lance didn't say anything else and just wrapped his arm around Marcy and just watched the waters and the storm go on. Marcy then remembered the memory Clio told Walter

Late in the night, a storm went on and a little girl singing was heard. A small ragdoll was held in the air.

Little Clio was playing with her ragdoll and Marcy watched her with a warm smile on her face. Clio's parents were away on a business trip at the time of the memory. Clio had her hair in two pigtails, wearing a pink polo shirt with yellow stripes, black shorts, and white socks.

"La la la la la…" Clio sang. Then thunder erupted loudly, making Clio shriek and cover herself in the blankets nearby Marcy who heard her fearful scream.

"Hey hey...It's okay...Come mere…" Marcy picked up the scared Clio and unwrapped her, to see her niece clutching onto her ragdoll. "You're okay...Your aunt Marcy is here…" Clio sniffled and looked up at her aunt. Marcy wrapped her arms around Clio and hummed a lullaby. Clio held onto her aunt as She gently rocked the little girl, calming her from the frightful storm outside

Marcy looked back at the door where Clio and Walter stayed and slowly looked back ahead, waiting for the challenges to come in Austria
