Katherine POV
126 days remained on the wall until they'd be home and each day felt longer than the last. Katherines heels echoed off the pavement of the garage lot. She was dropping the boys off to Gemma before meeting a friend in Lodi.
He had contacted her asking for assistance on flipping some houses. He had the cash flow and the connections but he didn't have a female to design the interior.
Desperate for something fun and exciting to do Katherine all but jumped at the opportunity. She could live out her HGTV dreams in peace and make her own schedule. Deciding to keep it to herself until she worked out the details was a bit harder to do.
The prospect Kip was following her and the boys around like a shadow. She'd talk to him when they got to the coffee shop and beg him not to say anything yet.
"There's my grand babies!" Gemma yelled excitedly from the office door.
"Gwandma!" Abel let go of her hand and booked it as fast as his little legs could take him.
"You ready to have a sleepover with me finally?"
Abels laugh echoed off the cement walls of the building and made a smile take over her face.
"Here's their bag and of course if you need anything at all call me, okay?"
"Of course baby. Where are you off to looking so hot?" Gemma asked while she buckled the car seat into her Cadillac.
Katherine chuckled and shook her head before Gemma asked her again.
"I'm going to Lodi to shop and to pamper myself. Thank you very much." She replied sarcastically.
"And why the hell do you never wanna pamper with me? I mean Christ do I need to be dying to get some attention?"
Looking at the matriarch Katherine rolled her eyes. "You are a drama Queen."
"Am not. I asked you two weeks ago and you said you couldn't."
"You're the only person I really trust with the boys and so when Taras off the last thing I want to do is ask her to watch them alone while you and I go be girly girls for the afternoon."
Little white lie never hurt and she knew Gemma would love the flattery.
She saw Gemmas eyes soften and look at the little boys that had stolen her heart. She nodded her head in understanding and pulled Katherine in for a hug.
"Have fun and be safe sweetheart."
The two went their separate ways after Katherine had a drawn out goodbye with the boys. She truly hated each minute she wasn't with them but she also knew it wouldn't hurt if she found some type of job for herself that would allow the best of all worlds.
...
The meeting with Markel went wonderful and he was more than excited to have her join him on the projects. He had wanted a partner for a long time but never wanted to mix business with pleasure.
His boyfriend Travis would help him occasionally but any disagreement would lead to a war at home and he had had enough.
He currently had several houses under contract that needed to be designed. The locations varied from a commute of thirty minutes to a commute of three hours.
She had explained somewhat of her life and that she had two young kids. Her schedule and availability would be directly affected by them but he seemed fine with it.
She was relieved and excited while heading back toward Charming. As she pulled into the driveway she saw that Tara was home and excitedly got out of the car.
Opening the front door she was met with quietness and heard the shower running. Deciding that takeout would be perfect for tonight she placed an order in for Chinese. The water shut off and she heard the sounds of drawers opening and the closet door closing.
Something came over her suddenly and she started walking toward their bedroom. She leaned against the door frame and admired how beautiful the woman was.
Tara finally looked up in the mirror and saw her watching as she got dressed. Katherine knew her eyes must have been blazing with lust because Tara bit her lip and stopped covering herself with the articles of clothing she had picked out.
"You look incredible. Where'd you go off to today wifey?" Taras voice was teasing.
"I'll tell you about my day later. I'm suddenly starving baby." She took a few steps toward the doctor and dropped to her knees.
Looking up as their eyes met with a twinkle of love, adoration, and lust.
Tara POV
"So you want to work? Is it because you need more money? Or do you need me to-"
"No no no no. It's nothing like that. I promise times a million it's not that. I just what something fun to do that I enjoy. Plus I can take the kids with me and make my own schedule. Eventually he wants to be partners 50/50 so it'll be perfect."
Putting the food container down on the table in front of the couch she turned and looked at the young woman beside her.
"Alright, I think it a great idea. But. You tell Jax and Gemma."
Katherine gave her a look before crossing her arms and huffing back I got her couch. "Can't you tell him? I think he'll take it better from you."
"No can do buttercup. You're going up for a visit tomorrow anyway. The boys can be a buffer for you."
"Ugh you hate me." Katherine pouted.
Leaning over the body that she had grown impeccably fond and possessive of she attached her lips to the delicate parts of her throat.
The sound of the tiny moan gave Tara the encouragement to continue.
"I could never. Ever. Ever. Hate you Katherine."
The following morning Tara woke to her alarm and got ready for work. She had slid out of bed as quietly as she could and luckily didn't wake Katherine up.
On days like this she was beyond grateful for Gemma and her wanting to spend time with the boys. Katherine needed time to recharge.
Tara couldn't complain. She'd wake and go to her job which she enjoyed beyond comprehension. She'd come home to house that was clean, dinner that was cooked, and children that were taken care of.
Katherine would always let her sleep in on her days off and would always find ways to make her smile. A couple weeks ago she had come home to a small garden in the backyard filled with her favorite flowers.
Katherine had completed it with Abel and would take care of it each day.
Deciding to take the extra minute she wrote a quick note on the pd of paper beside the bed and left it with the sleeping beauty.
Some days she wondered if all was to good in the world and something would have to give. Other times she wondered if maybe fate had stepped in and simply given her and Jax the answer to a happily ever after.
Tara hoped that Jax was as supportive of Katherine wanting to work as she was. Although seeing Katherine smile when she talked about it would help ease the blonde biker into agreeing to just about anything.
But he could be stubborn. He lived the idea of having one old lady that was the homemaker and could be there at all times. He lived in a very sexist world and Tara was sure that him having a more traditional old lady would balance out the fact that she was a busy surgeon.
"I love you." Leaning down she kissed the brunettes cheek before leaving to start her day.
Walking toward the hospital entrance she saw a familiar face and smiled.
"How you feeling today Unser?"
"Well, I'm alive so there's that." He laughed.
"What brings you by? I thought your appointments were on Saturday?"
His face grew serious and it cause her stomach to flip.
"Well I wanted to tell ya that a new sherif is in town. I gotta tell the guys but, just be careful sweetheart. He's a real pain in the ass."
"Well shit."
Authors note:
Hey everyone I'm back finally and apologize for the hiatus. Life got in the way and all that but I'm back. Just wanted to get this out there and let you all know the writing style is going to be a bit different moving forward. I want to fully immerse the POV and few like I've been kind of off with that. So the next chapter will be much more in depth of each characters feeling and using first person perspective.
Howl that makes sense lol!!!!
Any feed back is appreciated xoxooxox
