Two weeks later, Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura and Shikamaru were called into the Hokage's office "Old man what's the big deal all of a sudden, that anbu barely gave us enough time to change out of our swimsuits" Naruto sulked.
Clearly having been enjoying his break from training and missions these past almost three weeks "Easy does it Naruto, where'd that maturity from the Chunin Exam's go, perhaps this should go to someone who doesn't pout" Hiruzen chuckled.
Pulling out a vest, three Chunin vests to be precise "Lord Hokage does this mean what I think it does, that Naruto and I are two out of four people to be promoted to Chunin" Sasuke asked, itching to grab the vest and put it on.
Hiruzen nodded "Yes Sasuke, the both of you along with Shikamaru" the Hokage informed, passing out the vests to the newly promoted Chunin, he was proud of them which is why he'd decided on sending them on a particular mission.
"What a drag, can I turn it down, being a Chunin is to troublesome and will interfere with my cloud gazing" Shikamaru yawned, utterly lazy even now in the face of their leader and Sakura almost hit him for his unbecoming attitude.
Fortunately the Hokage refused to let Shikamaru turn down his promotion "Now, your probably wondering why I called Sakura in here seeing as she's already been promoted" Hiruzen said, lacing his fingers together.
As he moved onto the main reason he'd promoted them a week early "That did cross my mind yes Hokage-sama, why….unless we're being assigned a mission that involves the four of us" Sakura nodded, quick on the uptake.
"Correct you four are going on a B rank mission to escort the Kazekage and his shinobi back to their village and negotiate the terms of a new treaty which I'm leaving entirely up to you four to decide on" the Hokage announced.
Sakura exhaled and he could only imagine at what was going through her head "How long do we have to prepare for it and what's the duration of the mission" Sasuke questioned, taking over for his teammate who probably wasn't sure what to say.
Glad that this meeting was moving along quickly "Pack and be at the gates in three hours, you have two weeks, don't fail me" Hiruzen declared dismissing the Chunin from his office to prepare for their mission.
Team Seven was quick to hurry home "What's going on you three" Kakashi questioned when they appeared in the house after being called to the Hokage's Office, it was then he noticed the vests Naruto and Sasuke carried.
Naruto huffed "B rank mission Kakashi-sensei….us three with Shikamaru and we have to ugh escort those people back to their village and negotiate terms for a new treaty" Naruto explained, vanishing up the steps to his room.
"Dress lightly and bring heavier clothes for the nights" Sakura hollered after the two boys, before sitting on the couch and rubbing her temples as a headache threatened to split her skull, Kakashi eyed her in concern.
Until she decided to simply heal her headache "I really need to think about signing you up for volunteer work at the hospital, perhaps once you come back from your mission maybe" Kakashi commented.
Proud of how far she'd progressed on her medical ninjutsu, Sakura smiled sweetly before finally heading up the stairs so that she could pack, two hours later they were back downstairs and in lighter clothing than they were use to.
Each of them carried their serpents as they bid him farewell and disappeared through the hatch in the floor upon arriving at the gates they found the Sand Shinobi already milling about, keeping their heads down except for the Kazekage.
Who was stood with his children towards the front of the group, Rasa immediately noticed them as they approached "So it's you then, escorting us home" the Kazekage sighed, having wished to never see this particular girl again.
"Yes Kazekage-sama, and one other person" Sakura bowed her head, respectful in spite of what he'd had done to her, before falling silent as they waited an extra twenty minutes, and still Shikamaru was a no show.
Her brow twitched "I'll send a clone to see what's taking so long" Naruto offered, a short nod was his answer so a clone bounded off down the streets in the direction of the Nara heir's house, five minutes later he came rushing back.
Shikamaru on his heels "Were you purposefully being as slow as molasses Nara, you know how important this mission is right" Sasuke glared at the lazy ass as he was called while they signed out so they could get their mission underway.
"Blame my mom this time not me Sasuke, she wouldn't stop nagging" Shikamaru grumbled, taking his turn to sign out at long last and with that the enlarged group began walking down the path in the direction of Wind Country.
Once the gates were out of view Sakura raised her guard "You know your Hokage is sending you on a suicide mission right, our return won't be well received and you four could very well die" Kankuro snorted.
Feeling chatty all of a sudden "Then we'll die but we'll go down fighting" Sakura shrugged, unbothered by the possibility of dying, especially since she'd already died three times, almost four to be exact.
It was starting to get old really "How can you just be so casual about your death, your insane Haruno" Temari gaped in horror at the younger kunoichi, extremely uncomfortable at her blaze responses and reactions.
"Maybe, it's just the way she is though and we wouldn't have Sakura-chan any other way" Naruto chimed in, scanning his surroundings warily, because he knew better than to let his guard down, that's when someone would attack after all.
Rasa was extremely disturbed at the conversation "Think about how your parents would feel if you went and got yourself killed, or any siblings you may have, you'd be leaving them without their older or younger siblings if you died" Rasa said.
"Parents ha ha that's funny, siblings even funnier, none of us have any, we're all orphans except Nara here who has his parents still" Sasuke snorted from the back of the group since they'd already decided to have him guard the rear.
Hazel eyes widened at that "Didn't you call him your brother before" Gaara rumbled in his usual gravely tone of voice looking straight at Sakura before shifting his gaze onto Naruto, a little confused.
Sakura tilted her head in acknowledgement "Naruto is my adoptive brother, beyond that we have no one else except Kakashi-sensei" the pinkette said, casting the blonde a fond smile, then she went back to watching their surroundings.
Shikamaru saw this as his chance to ask a question that he'd always wanted an answer to "So what happened to your biological parents then, and how did you find out what your last name was" Shikamaru questioned.
Only to regret asking when Sakura craned her neck in his direction and the hair on his arms raised at the empty look in her eyes "They were massacred, everyone but me and one another person who I met on our last mission outside the village" Sakura admitted.
"By who, if another person survived, that means he knows who did it right" Baki inquired, digging for information as well, just a little surprised when she met his gaze evenly, a shudder crawled down his spine at the pure hatred in her eyes.
Followed by the one name he never wanted to hear again, of course it was bloody freaking Orochimaru, he seemed to be behind a lot of things lately like duping them into believing he was helping them only to abandon them.
Just then Naruto tapped Sakura on the arm "2o'clock Sakura-chan, three of them, could be enemies laying in wait, permission to go check it out" Naruto requested after informing her of the chakra he sensed to the right of them.
She nudged him off "Since when could that idiot sense chakra" Shikamaru frowned, not remembering Naruto being able to do that, or any of the things he'd been able to do recently, like become a Chunin, he was a giant prankster doofball it should have been impossible for him.
"A long time, probably about a month after we graduated, Kakashi insisted we learn to sense chakra while siccing his hounds on us for three weeks straight, Naruto proved to be more adept at sensing than Sakura or I" Sasuke scowled.
Three minutes later Naruto was back "It was a boar with piglets, guess I kind of got use to searching for boar hehehe sorry for any alarm I caused" the blonde apologized sheepishly as he resumed his previous place.
"Better to be safe than sorry, we're in just as much danger out here as we are in the village so of course you'd think every little chakra was an enemy" the Uchiha soothed, just glad that it hadn't been an enemy.
It took a moment before Shikamaru spluttered "Excuse me, but in no way should you be in danger in the village, so why would you say that…unless it's true what my old man said about how someone tried to impersonate Kakashi-sensei" the Nara heir said.
Eerie green eyes shot towards him "Unfortunately Shikamaru and there's a possibility the person who sent that impersonator after us could send more while we're out here so I amend Sasuke's statement by saying we're actually in more danger out here than in the village" the pinkette stated.
Looking at Baki and shaking her head imperceptibly at him when he opened his mouth to say something damning about Danzo Shimura no doubt "Intense much I'm sure your blowing it way out of proportion like you seem fond of" Kankuro intoned dubiously.
This time she didn't even deign to answer him, merely kept her gaze forward and walked that much faster until they reached the border of River Country hours later only then did they stop for the night and make camp.
Rasa had to admit the newly promoted Chunin had come prepared for everything this mission would possibly throw at them as he spied several storage scrolls in their packs, well in the packs of the ones he was familiar with anyway.
Which included food supplies in large quantities to feed the entire lot of them several times over for more than a couple of weeks if he had to guess "Are you going to draw protective seals" Sasuke inquired once everyone had eaten their fill and they were settling down to get some sleep.
"Duh Sasuke, I'm not that stupid, though if you could seal your lightning nature in them that would be great and Shikamaru you take first watch with Naruto" Sakura rolled her eyes chakra ink and brush in hand already.
As much as he wanted to argue he didn't "Fine, I won't complain if…if you let me in on where you live when we get back, I know you don't live at that apartment anymore, it looks un-lived in" Shikamaru declared.
Her face twitched "Only old man Hokage can give us permission to tell you Shikamaru so what your asking for is impossible" Naruto scoffed, face paling as he realized what he'd just said and he studiously avoided looking in Sakura's direction.
Considering she was currently glaring at him and thanking his lucky stars that she was currently busy "Hold on why would you have to have permission to tell someone your address" Temari burst out confused.
"Because the last time we let people know our address we were pursued through the village by that impersonator who when he failed blew himself up with an exploding tag to avoid being interrogated by Ibiki-sensei and Anko-sensei" Sakura announced.
Temari gaped at her as did Kankuro "All finished Sakura-chan, you know one of these days I want to take you to meet Ero-sennin" Naruto mused out loud when Sakura stowed her chakra ink and brush away in her pouch.
"Ero-sennin…knucklehead I thought you were supposed to train under Ebisu, are you saying you found a different trainer to train you during the month" Sasuke echoed, trying not to die of laughter at the atrocious nickname.
Naruto nodded "Yep, he's some toad sage guy who was peeping on women in the bath, I pestered him until he finally gave in and trained me" Naruto grinned, proud for managing to find a trainer all his own.
Who'd taught him some really cool stuff even though the training had bordered on insane "Toad Sage….Naruto that's Jiraiya one of the Legendary Sannin, have more respect" Sakura scolded when she realized who her adoptive brother was talking about and calling Pervy Sage.
"Mean, you never let me have fun and make me be proper and respectful all the time…ack please don't skewer your adoring little brother please Sakura-chan" the blonde pouted giving her the puppy dog eyes.
As she twirled a kunai around her finger "Will you stop calling Jiraiya-sama by that atrocious nickname you've come up with….good" the rosette asked, smiling when Naruto nodded his head eagerly like a good boy.
"Dobe every time….shutting up" the Uchiha sniggered, turning her ire onto him next so he promptly shut his mouth, Sakura snickered under her breath, glad that it was still easy to reign her teammates in.
With that done she spread out her bed roll and curled up on it, Chishi and Chimei sharing her warmth under the blanket "Ugh….Sakura's as exhausting as ever and more troublesome than I remember her being" the Nara heir groaned once her breathing had evened out.
Neither Sasuke or Naruto commented on his statement, before they knew it, it was morning and they were crossing the border into Wind Country through River Country 'Careful daughter, there might be a bit of trouble heading your way….Hidan' Jashin informed suddenly.
Sakura went positively rigid "Sakura-chan what's the matter, I don't sense anything so what are you getting all tensed up for" Naruto frowned seeing her reaction, though it did prompt him to raise his guard.
"It's him, the other one…..and we're about to have a…DUCK TEMARI-SAN" Sakura grimaced, before realizing that he was already there, swinging his scythe, Temari barely got out of the way in time to dodge the unexpected attack.
Scattering the Sand Shinobi "Perceptive, so your the favored one well I feel no need to introduce myself since you already know who I am, but don't think I'll let you escape with your life in tact, I was chosen first and I'm going to prove why I'm more deserving of his favor" Hidan sneered.
Lunging straight for Sakura who engaged him with her own scythe "Make a break for the desert" Sasuke suggested, hating to leave Sakura behind like this but she was immortal just like Hidan so there was no way he could kill her.
The rest of them however weren't so lucky "What the hell Sasuke, that's your teammate we can't just abandon her, I thought you were like family to one another isn't that what you told Ino" Shikamaru struggled the whole way trying to get back to Sakura.
"NARA ENOUGH, Sakura knows what she's doing, she'll come back to us alive, just have faith" Sasuke snapped having enough of Shikamaru's ridiculousness, Shikamaru quieted at that and followed after the Sand Shinobi.
Meanwhile the minute the others were gone Hidan disengaged and hooked his scythe onto his back "That was easier than I thought it would be to get you alone, in three weeks Akatsuki is going to be sending two agents to abduct Leafs Jinchuuriki" Hidan smirked.
Passing along the message "Don't look so gutted bitch I still hate you for taking up nearly all of Jashin-sama's time but I am loyal so you can trust me just be on the look out for Kisame Hoshigaki and Itachi Uchiha" Hidan snorted.
When Sakura furrowed her brow "Uh thanks I suppose and good to know" Sakura stated, watching Hidan walk away now that he'd completed his task, once he was gone she gave herself a few injuries.
Then started after the others and half an hour later she'd caught up with them "Your hurt again" Naruto noted when Sakura rejoined them at long last, sporting cuts and a puncture wound that she was already starting to heal.
"Sorry, he managed to get me a few times before I tricked him into chasing after a shadow clone giving me more than enough time to get away" Sakura apologized, lying through her teeth while inwardly promising to tell her teammates the truth later.
Hours later when the sun was sinking low on the horizon the group reached Sunagakure "Lord Kazekage…..you have returned to us, welcome back Kazekage-sama" the guards at the entrance of the Hidden Sand Village bowed low upon seeing their Kage after three weeks.
They'd probably thought he'd been executed for attempting a coup on a village with a higher military might than theirs "Yes I have returned and these four have come to negotiate the terms for a new treaty" Rasa nodded.
Gesturing at the Leaf Chunin who'd escorted him and his shinobi home "For now however I simply wish to have them led to an inn to rest for the night before tomorrow comes and we have to dive into the headache known as politics" the Kazekage sighed.
Bone weary and exhausted, the Leaf Shinobi thanked him, letting themselves be escorted to a hotel where they argued for a few minutes to decide on room arrangements before heading to bed early completely forgoing dinner.
And the next morning after breakfast the quartet were gathered in Rasa's office, there were several large leaning stacks of paperwork crowded around the room, the Kazekage was already hard at work sorting through it all.
"Oh your already here…..lets be off then to the council chambers, I've told all the members of the elders council to be gathered so their just waiting on you I hope" Rasa looked up, once they'd been standing there for eight minutes.
Thankfully the elders had done as he'd asked when he entered the room and found them all seated "Shikamaru your more delicate with things like this" Sakura murmured to Shikamaru, uncomfortable beneath the gazes of the elders.
Elders made her twitchy because of freaking Danzo "Why me…okay, okay what a drag" Shikamaru groaned, shifting away from Sakura when she raised her fist threateningly at him so he turned and started negotiating the terms of a new treaty between Leaf and Sand.
Nearly two hours later they exited the room to allow the Elders time to consider the terms Shikamaru had suggested "It's probably best your the one doing all the talking, Sakura would cuss them out if given a chance" Sasuke commented.
Knowing why Sakura had made Shikamaru be their spokesperson "That's not all Teme, Sakura-chan wanted to make him do some of the work so he wasn't lazy the whole time we're here" Naruto smirked.
Catching on to Sakura's plan who smiled innocently in response while Shikamaru muttered a troublesome under his breath "Ah Gaara" Sakura waved at the redhead when she spotted him walking towards them.
Gaara tilted his head, acknowledging her greeting "Did the Elders refuse your terms" Gaara rumbled in that gravely tone of his, thinking that negotiations had already broken down and the Leaf Shinobi were preparing to head home as failures.
"They kicked us out of the council room to take a break and mull the terms we've stated so far over, told us to come back in an hour or so, so that gives us some time to walk around and stretch our legs a bit from sitting in a chair for two hours" Naruto chattered.
Fellow Jinchuuriki blinking at him "Don't worry he's always like this, a chatterbox I mean, once he gets started it's hard to stop him until he runs out of things to say" Sasuke said, knowing that not everyone could handle Naruto like he and Sakura could.
"I see, well if you intend on walking around I'll join you as there are many who are currently objecting to your presence in the village" Gaara rumbled, joining their group as they exercised and worked off their breakfasts.
Until it was time to head back into the room "Now where were we, ah yes, regarding the issue with Winds Feudal Lord sending us missions, we can't control that…but we'll continue to refuse such missions" Shikamaru jumped right back in where he'd left off earlier.
When next they left the council room it was well into evening so the foursome quickly found a restaurant and ordered a late dinner before returning to the hotel to get some rest after a long day of arguing with Suna's council of elders.
Two days later negotiations were finally coming along thanks to Shikamaru's efforts even though he complained that it was all a drag, they were walking around the Sand Village again when Baki jogged up to them "Kazekage-sama wishes to see you in his office Sakura-san" Baki informed.
Still pretty awkward around her "Go on you three I'll go see what Kazekage-sama wants" Sakura gestured the boys off to do what they wanted without her for awhile, Sasuke clearly wanted to object to her going alone however.
So she gave him a look that warned him from saying anything, his mouth snapped shut "Their understandably wary, of course they wouldn't want you to be alone with Kazekage-sama especially after what happened" Baki commented.
"I'm a big girl Baki-san if I let every little thing bother me I would probably be a recluse by now" the pinkette snorted lightly, pacing leisurely at his side as they trekked towards the Kazekage Tower so that she could find out what the Kazekage wanted.
Baki frowned but let the subject drop until they reached their destination "Sakura-san as you requested Sir" Baki announced, swinging open the door to the man's office and gesturing her in as he headed off to complete his duties.
The minute the door was shut behind her Sakura faced Rasa meeting his gaze evenly "Not afraid even after I ordered one of my men to torture you in front of your leader, your braver than most to withstand such a thing and still be able to smile" Rasa said.
Sakura inhaled quietly "Perhaps…or more cowardly, it's not a relative matter at this point is it though Kazekage-sama" the rosette waved her hand lightly, wishing she was everywhere but here alone with the man.
Despite what everyone thought no matter what she said, she was terrified of the guy, but she hid it well "Your friend, that Nara boy, he's quite the smooth talker, I actually thought you'd be the one negotiating terms, but he's handling the council as if he's been in politics all his life" Rasa mused.
Earning a grin "That's Shikamaru for you, his Father is the Jonin Commander, and he's the clan heir so he has to know politics like the back of his hand, it's probably the main reason he was sent after just being promoted" Sakura explained.
"And what of you…surely you're a fair hand at politics as well" Rasa asked, motioning with his head at the chair, indicating he wanted her to sit instead of standing all the way by the door, she'd probably thought this would be a quick meeting.
But he had many things he wanted to speak with her about "Eh..no not really, I'm more of a punch first talk later kind of person I am however good at strategizing and my teammates aren't slouches in that department hence why we were sent as a whole team" Sakura admitted.
Rasa quirked a brow at her "Does that mean that when you let Baki take you hostage you'd already intended on escaping at some point, you were just waiting for your sensei, but how did your teammates know of your plan since you didn't discuss it with them" Rasa inquired.
She smiled in response "Of course Kazekage-sama and we'd already been on our way to find our sensei before Baki-san caught us so they just continued looking for him" Sakura shrugged lightly, clearly having a lot of trust in her teammates.
'This girl is getting more complicated by the minute' Rasa sighed inwardly to himself "What if they hadn't found him, what if I hadn't been distracted allowing you to free yourself, you could have died" Rasa pointed out.
Viridian met hazel "A definite possibility I suppose but I know Kakashi-sensei would have come for me regardless even if it had taken a little bit longer" Sakura declared, she knew her sensei, he wouldn't have left her to suffer.
Rasa grit his teeth and ground them, obviously aggravated with her for some reason, before he stood, that's when she started getting wary "Does your life truly matter that little to you that you'd risk it repeatedly" the Kazekage scowled.
Stalking around his desk, pinning the girl down in the chair with his gold dust as he got in her personal space "K..Kazekage-sama there's a lot I can't tell you, for safety reasons, it has to do with the reason Orochimaru massacred my home village" the pinkette stuttered lightly.
Nervous at his proximity "You….you are afraid of me" Rasa realized, seeing her imperceptible shaking, in fact she even looked like she was about to pass out "It seems you aren't as brave as you let everyone think you are" he smirked.
Lifting her chin so their gazes could meet, "No I'm not Kazekage-sama, I have to be though" Sakura sighed, shivering softly as the pad of his thumb rubbed her chin, his gold dust was loosening to her relief.
"Why just you, surely one of those two on your team could have taken your place as the hostage" Rasa questioned, feeling her relax some, so kept up with his action, he didn't want her to be totally terrified of him after all.
Sakura exhaled shakily "B..Because Naruto and Sasuke wouldn't have been able to handle that, I was the only one capable and they knew that even if they had wanted to argue with my decision" Sakura admitted.
His brow furrowed "Well you did seem rather accustomed to pain, can you tell me why or is that something you can't, another thing you have to have permission on" Rasa prodded, hoping he wouldn't have to get risky in order to get her to talk.
"I…I can't, not just by order of Hokage-sama but by demand of someone else" Sakura shook her head, dislodging his hand from her chin, simply refusing to talk, though he was impressed, he doubted she'd remain silent on the matter for long.
Especially with what he was about to do "That so, well perhaps I could convince you tell me" Rasa smirked, taking off his Kage robe before pulling Sakura up from the chair and leading her over to the couch.
She was smart, figuring out what he was planning within seconds as she tried to bolt but he caught her effortlessly around the waist only to gently push her down onto the couch in the next moment "Kazekage-sama" the rosette frowned, not liking this situation in the least.
"Tell me or I'll do this" the Kazekage ordered, spreading her legs and placing a hand against her most sacred place, it wasn't easy however as she struggled against him the whole time, but even with her abnormal strength.
He was still able to position her as he wanted, Sakura grit her teeth intent on keeping quiet "Very well you leave me no choice" Rasa sighed, maneuvering his hand and pressing his thumb against her clit through her shorts.
Her eyes went wide just before opening her mouth, and realizing that if she screamed people would know something was going on, Rasa quickly slammed his mouth down upon hers, swallowing her shriek to prevent someone from investigating.

Seemingly glad that he hadn't had to go much further than he had just now "I follow a certain religion, there are several rules that I have to abide by, one of which involves pain on a daily basis, thus increasing my pain tolerance" Sakura explained.
Leaving out several things such as what her religion actually was "This religion, is it the reason Orochimaru massacred your village" Rasa questioned, smirking as she shifted and squeezed her thighs together.
"Yes, that's why no one can know what it is until I'm ready for him, if he finds out I'm alive, he'll be after me and quite frankly I really don't want that stress of being one of his targets" Sakura nodded, choosing her words carefully.
And the Kazekage was just going to have to be satisfied with what she'd said already "Hmm, I guess that's more than enough information for now, someday I want a real answer" Rasa nodded, satisfied for the time being.
She scowled "Trust me, everyone in the five great nations will know once the secret is revealed, there will be no hiding it then" Sakura scoffed, and she could only hope that she was well received on that day, gritting her teeth against the ache in her nether regions.
A crimson brow quirked upwards "You seem to be having a problem, care for a hand" Rasa smirked, Sakura fled to the opposite end of the couch in response, prompting a chuckle from him as she glared at him.
"No thank you I'll just take a cold shower" Sakura informed, temper on a short leash "If that is all Kazekage-sama" the pinkette inquired, and was waved off, with that she exited his office, swearing to never let him get her alone again.
Half an hour later she rejoined Naruto, Sasuke and Shikamaru "That took forever believe it" Naruto whined at her, because she'd been gone for over an hour, Sakura flashed an indulgent smile at him while apologizing for taking so long.
"Kazekage-sama had many things he wished to speak about" was all she said on the matter, since there was no way in hell that she was ever telling them that the Kazekage was a pervert who'd tried to seduce her half an hour ago.
Sasuke looked her up and down "Are you sure that's all that went on, your hair is damp" Sasuke noted wondering if something had happened while Sakura had been alone with the Kazekage, damn he should have known better than to let her go by herself.
Emerald orbs rolled upwards "I took a shower after he dismissed me, you know me I don't do well in heat and it was hot in his office" Sakura snorted, doing a pretty damn good job of not simply blurting out the truth.
Shikamaru cocked a brow at her "Since when have you been sensitive to heat Sakura, I remember you running about all the time when we were younger" Shikamaru chimed in, not really believing the pinkette in any capacity.
"It's not that I'm sensitive, I just get hot easily…I guess that is being sensitive to it, but still I was sweating up a storm so I took a shower end of story" Sakura scoffed lightly, glad when they finally dropped the subject and the rest of the day passed by pleasantly enough.
