Chapter 2

Author's Note : To everyone who took a chance on this story. I thank you. Review!

"We decided to find out the gender until delivery day. So it only makes sense for the nursery to have gender neutral colors." Lucas stated. As he looked over the newly put together crib and changing table. Which were a combination of light and dark wood.

"We are in agreement. A sunrise or a sunset. Or an endless sky.?" Brooke asked. Looking back at him.

"We have time to figure that out. You should be resting and relaxing. You're in a fragile state. The doctor said." Lucas began to say.

"I have a fashion line to create. This is the only way i can free myself from my parents and be able to support myself for possibly a lifetime. I'm taking it easy." Brooke reassured him.

"I'm hovering out of concern and love. That engagement ring looks good on you." Lucas said.

Brooke smiled up at him. "I'm the future Mrs. Brooke Davis-Scott." She replied.

Lucas kissed her gently. Brooke kissed him back. Taking his hand and placing it on her belly.

"Kicking away. Baby Scott is making their presence known." Brooke stated. As the couple locked eyes.

Brooke longed to stay in bed and pull the covers over her head. Sleeping and crying her way through it. Until there was a new day in front of her but she couldn't.

She sighed deeply placing down the bouquet of sunflowers.

When she heard footsteps. Brooke knew without a doubt that it was Lucas.

He placed down a bear. And looked to Brooke.

"He would of been 9. He would of been best friends with Jamie, Roman, and Jackie. They are all the same age." Lucas stated.

"I know. I hate coming here. I don't like to think about him out here alone." Brooke said. Her voice breaking with emotion.

"We miss you and love you." Lucas proclaimed. The emotion in his voice thick.

"First this happens. Then years later the adoption falls through. I've come to accept it. I'm not meant to be a mother." Brooke said.

"Uncle Lucas and aunt Brooke is all we will ever be and that's enough for me." Lucas replied.
