For the next few days Tsunade made Sakura review everything she already knew about her religion so that she was just as informed about Jashinism, "You need people to be well informed of your heritage so you can rely on them in case you need to sacrifice someone" Tsunade huffed.
When Sakura asked why she wanted to know everything there was about the religion "Do also want a ring or a pair of earrings" Sakura quipped mostly teasing, she just didn't expect Tsunade to actually nod.
And a few minutes later her ears were pierced and dark blue earrings with her gods symbol filled the tiny holes "Also I think it's about time you made your first sacrifice, we'll do it in the temple, make a big thing out of it" Tsunade announced.
'Your mentor is correct, with no one to worry about daughter, it is time' Jashin unfortunately agreed with Tsunade when Sakura tried to say that she wasn't ready for that so left with little choice Sakura steeled her nerves and nodded.
Tsunade smirked "Right, I'll need to borrow Ivory since there's only one person on this island other than the two of us, and I need to go find a thug or bandit" the honey eyed woman said waiting until her apprentice had done as asked and summoned Ivory.
Then Sakura watched the two disappear through a portal "Guess I'll go get the ritual sacrifice room ready" Sakura sighed, grabbing up her pack and heading for the temple that had been explored in it's entirety already.
Blood was quickly spilt on the floor and the symbol was drawn, after three candles were placed at the points of the upside down triangle, the shackles were also prepared to bind the sacrificial offering in place while she was performing the ceremony.
Her dagger was set in easy reach and that was pretty much all she could do at the moment, so to pass the time Sakura unsealed her scythe and headed for the temple training room to get some practice in until Tsunade returned.
It was two hours later after she'd worked up quite the sweat, Tsunade got back and being dragged along behind her was a cursing bandit "Fuck you, you stupid bitch when I escape I'm going to kill the brat first so that you suffer" the man screamed profanities the whole time.
Until he was chained to the wall "To bad for you this brat of mine is going to test out her religion of slaughter on you so by tomorrow you'll be dead and in the ground" Tsunade snorted, seeing that everything was ready.
Except for Sakura who was still in her thick clothes as it had started getting a little colder out lately "Slaughter….are you whacked or something, there is no such religion" the bandit asked looking at them like they were disturbed.
Sakura snickered "Unfortunately Tsunade-shishou speaks the truth and you get to be my first sacrifice to my god Jashin-sama" the pinkette explained, feeling a little readier than she'd thought especially if this guy was a bad guy.
"Okay you are whacked" the man sneered in disgust probably thinking she had a screw loose, Sakura shrugged as she was ushered away by Tsunade into a separate room where the woman threw clothes at her.
To her confusion "Wear those during the ritual, so you don't ruin your good clothes" the busty blonde said and her apprentice held up the clothes, they were simple mesh clothes and she'd brought plenty more for the girl.
Having planned on this being their first stop anyway "True, I don't really feel like going through my supply so quickly" Sakura nodded in understanding as she quickly donned the mesh shirt and shorts, Sasuke would probably have a heart attack if he saw her wearing it.
"Alright lets get in some regular training for the next hour or so since your already all warmed up, then eat lunch while that bastard stews, he was attacking an innocent child so I figured he'd be the best choice" Tsunade said.
Jerking her thumb towards the door and they exited the temple ignoring the screams from their captive "Okay so what exactly are you going to train me in Tsunade-shishou" Sakura questioned once they'd gone a fair distance away from the temple.
Tsunade grinned "Evasion brat, once your able to successful dodge me without taking a single hit in an hour then we'll move onto chakra enhanced strength and advanced medical techniques" Tsunade smirked.
Swinging her fist without giving Sakura any chance to prepare herself, an enemy wouldn't let you know they were attacking simple attack and so for the next hour Sakura got thrown about like a rag doll.
A few instances she was able to escape without suffering from getting hit but those moments were far and few "Seems I need a lot of practice avoiding attacks" Sakura winced as Tsunade healed her broken bones once the hour was up.
"Well you did surprise me a couple times so your not completely without experience, I'll give you that much Sakura, I assume Kakashi had something to do with that right" Tsunade admitted, not wanting Sakura to think herself useless.
Viridian orbs lit up "Mhm Kakashi-sensei made us train on how to avoid his ninken, sometimes we had to dodge when they found us to keep from being tied up, but the rest of the time I haven't really trained how to evade attacks when I'm a natural taijutsu fighter" Sakura exclaimed.
"Taijutsu is your strong suit but by the time I'm finished with you Sakura, evasion will be etched into your very bones that you won't even have to think about it" Tsunade smirked, a promise in her voice that sort of scared Sakura.
Prompting Jashin to chuckle at her juvenile thinking, Sakura huffed at him in response but quickly whipped up lunch for her and Tsunade "Okay Tsunade-shishou I think I'm ready for that ritual now" Sakura announced.
Once they'd finished eating "Good at least your not making this difficult, it's going to be hard enough watching you die but I guess your use to death by now huh" Tsunade grimaced, inwardly berating herself after she'd said it.
"Yeah when you die four almost five times in a short time span, you kind of get desensitized and it's a struggle reacting so others don't freak out" Sakura flinched, not sure if that was the best thing to say but she couldn't take it back now.
As Tsunade blew out a breath to get rid of her misgivings about the whole thing probably then stood "Come on lets go, times wasting and I don't intend on giving that bastard any more of a chance to figure a way out to escape from those shackles" Tsunade ordered.
Leading the way back to the temple where the bandit was still yelling profanities, though he shut up when they re-entered the ritual room "It's time for you to meet Jashin-sama bastard" Sakura grinned, secondary chakra flaring to light the candles and lanterns around the room.
So they were lit with black flames "Behold the glory of the Goddess of Slaughter, an agent sent to us with the power of Jashin to be his instrument on this earth, bow your head and pray" Tsunade recited the chant, they'd found written on documents, deciding to make it as official as possible.
Black chakra swirled in the air coming mostly from Sakura as she stalked forward with one of her retractable spears in hand and cut the bandit on the cheek with it then to his absolute disgust she licked the end of her spear ingesting his blood.
Deliberately walking slowly back over to the symbol on the ground and with a deep breath stepped over it, her skin blackened and white markings appeared on her flesh, green eyes glowing eerily as her fuscia locks bleached to a pure white.
Sitting in the circle Sakura picked up the ceremonial dagger "Oh Mighty Lord Jashin, by whom all things are set free, I cast myself utterly into thine arms and place myself unreservedly under thy all powerful protection" Sakura chanted.
Closing her eyes as she did so before slicing her wrists, drawing agonized screams from the bandit as the same injury appeared on him, and with her spear she stabbed herself in the shoulder, making it extremely painful as she left the spear impaled in her flesh.
"Visit justice and vengeance upon those who seek my destruction, render them powerless and devastated, fill my soul with thy invincible power, strengthen me, so that I may persevere in your service Oh Mighty Lord Jashin" Sakura prayed.
Making more cuts and puncture wounds as she went before finally deciding to end it as she raised her dagger and pressed it to her chest, Sakura locked eyes with her sacrifice who had snot and tears running down his face.
In that moment he realized that he truly was going to die by her hands as she steadied her weapon then with a grim smile shoved it into her heart, both persons involved in the ritual became still with no life left in their breasts.
Tsunade was starting to get worried until Sakura sat up with a moan as she removed the dagger from her heart, black chakra oozed into her death wound and a second later all injuries she'd inflicted on herself were healed.
Honey orbs focused on the bandit but he remained dead "Was Jashin satisfied with your sacrifice Sakura" Tsunade inquired, helping Sakura stand when the girl wobbled on her feet, in answer Sakura nodded her head slowly.
Still dazed from the ritual "Extremely since it was my first ever" Sakura hummed, ready to rest for a bit and Tsunade was all to happy to let her as they headed for Sakura's old house since they'd cleaned it up a bit to live in while they were there on the island.
Not long after Sakura was up and raring to go as she set out to explore, clear up to dinner time, the other person on the island no where to be seen not since the first day anyway, he'd stayed far away despite knowing she didn't want revenge on him.
And three days later Tsunade decided it was time to leave "Better to not stay in one place the entire time, we'll come back and visit but for now we need to move on" Tsunade explained when Sakura looked upset.
Obviously not wanting to go just yet "Where to then" Sakura relented after pouting for a moment then summoned Ivory so they could get off the island, with directions given they climbed astride the wolf and were traveling through another rift.
Where they emerged half an hour later in the Land of Whirlpool "Figured you should learn your other roots, being a quarter Uzumaki and all" Tsunade stated, taking in the destroyed homeland of the Uzumaki Clan.
Nothing was left of the once great Eddy Village or so Sakura thought until Tsunade used some jutsu to reveal a set of stairs "My grandmother, Mito Uzumaki told me about this before she passed away after having the Nine Tails extracted from her" Tsunade said.
Smirking at Sakura's shock as she led the way down the steps to reveal a large library, books upon books on lost fuinjutsu knowledge hidden away from the rest of the world unless one knew where to look and only accessed by one descended from the Uzumaki clan.
"Oh wow Tsunade-shishou there are seals I've never even seen before that Dad doesn't even know about" Sakura gasped in awe, face awash with glee at the horde of books in front of her, it was like treasure to her at least.
Tsunade couldn't help but chuckle at her apprentices apparent happiness who was already studying one of the various books on sealing jutsu "Of course Minato wouldn't, Kushina wouldn't have known about this place since she was brought to Leaf at a young age" Tsunade admitted.
Green orbs shot her way "And soon after Uzushiogakure was destroyed for their fuinjutsu prowess" Sakura finished, knowing her history of other lands very well obviously to her mentors amusement.
"Sakura you like bets right, I bet that you won't read more than three books in the next week, if you don't, you have to show me how you make that net of yours, if you do however you get to choose the next place we go to and how long we stay there" Tsunade chimed in suddenly.
Making a bet with the girl when she nodded "Fine with me Shishou, I'll have five books read before the end of the week is even upon us" Sakura intoned confidently as she settled at the little table that was still in tact somehow.
While her mentor wandered off somewhere only to return hours later with dinner to find Sakura passed out using a book as a pillow "Don't worry Minato, I'll make sure she becomes strong" Tsunade vowed quietly.
Lifting her apprentice to take her to one of the rooms so that the girl could sleep in a proper bed and a week later Sakura had read six books "Hehehe hands down Tsunade-shishou" Sakura snickered doing a victory dance.
"How the hell did you manage to read six books in a week Sakura, my most is two" Tsunade grumbled, letting Sakura cheer and dance all she wanted because she hadn't expected Sakura to actually beat her record.
Sakura grinned widely "I have an eidetic memory and my mind processes information at a higher speed, allowing me to read faster than normal" Sakura admitted, her mind was her best point and the thing she was proudest of.
"Okay brat so where is it that you want to go and how long are we staying once we leave here that is" Tsunade sighed, wondering if Sakura was capable of abnormal things because of Jashin, it was a guess and the likely answer since she doubted she'd find out the truth.
Immediately Sakura stopped dancing about "Mifune-dono offered to let me come back to learn more about blades and how the samurai do things and can we stay for a couple weeks I thought it would be cool if you were down with it Shishou" Sakura explained.
Fidgeting a little as her personality shifted to be more shy than Tsunade was use to "Weren't you killed in one of the rooms….yet you still want to go back, if that's what you want Sakura, we'll go" Tsunade relented seeing that Sakura was adamant about going.
To Sakura's excitement until Tsunade dragged her outside for some evasion training, clear up to dinner time "I was able to dodge you much more than when we began" Sakura announced when Tsunade was healing her of broken bones yet again.
"Quite and you'll only get better as the time passes, now go on, I know there's more you want to read, I'm going to go scout for a bit, make sure no ones caught on we're here" Tsunade nudged the rosette off back to the underground library.
They stayed for two more weeks and she allowed the girl to take two books from the library to keep for herself "This ones for Naruto and this ones for Sasuke when I finish reading them" Sakura said, because both boys wanted to learn more fuinjutsu.
And the books would help them expand their knowledge on the subject "Fair enough, got everything good now summon Ivory and tell her where we're headed" Tsunade shrugged, pretty much use to Sakura's selflessness.
In a matter of minutes they were on Ivory's back and headed through yet another rift on their way to the Land of Iron and Samurai HQ "Last time, from here on we're walking on foot" the busty blonde declared upon their arrival and Ivory had gone back to the garden.
"Completely understood Tsunade-shishou" Sakura saluted, marching towards the building in the distance, glad she was wearing thicker clothes and ten minutes later they were being let in by two samurai Sakura hadn't been introduced to last time.
Mifune was very surprised to see her when his left and right hands informed him of their presence "Sakura-san here I thought you'd either forgotten or had decided against coming when I offered" Mifune commented.
Looking her over "I wasn't sure if Shishou would be amenable is all Mifune-dono" Sakura bowed, still as polite as he remembered her being from two months ago, that's why he thought she'd forgotten or just didn't want to come.
"Well you're here now and the evening kenjutsu practice is about to start if you want to go ahead and jump straight in to a lesson" Mifune offered, Sakura shed her pack quickly and bounded after him excitedly as he led the way to the training room.
Where he handed her a sword and waited until she'd joined the others before leading the session which lasted for over two hours, Sakura kept up quite well, following his and the others lead without hesitation.
She was sure to be extremely sore tomorrow when the session finally ended "Never thought I'd have to use those muscles" Sakura winced as she rubbed her inner thigh but didn't heal herself because that would defeat the purpose of the training session.
"Eight way I'm impressed and I can't wait to see how much you improve under my teachings for the next couple of weeks" Mifune chuckled, thoroughly amused by the child before him as he dismissed her for the evening.
After informing her of when the next session would be, Sakura rushed away, locating her mentors chakra with ease in a double room for two people "How was it Sakura" Tsunade asked, quirking a brow on her apprentice.
As she rubbed her thighs again "Painful….Samurai do things completely different that use muscles you don't normally use, but I'm going to stick it out for the next week and six days" Sakura admitted.
Laying back on the bed until Tsunade thrust food at her so she didn't go to bed hungry and the next morning after breakfast she dragged Sakura outside in the cold for evasion training "Good, I think it's time you started storing chakra here" Tsunade smirked flicking the girls forehead.
When Sakura managed to avoid getting hit for an hour with fast developing reflexes now that they were being trained daily "The Hundred Strength Seal huh" Sakura mused, concentrating her chakra to begin storing it.
Nothing happened yet of course but neither kunoichi expected anything to happen as they resumed training, this time on better enhancing her attacks with chakra "You've gotten the hang of it so far but start adding more chakra to your punches and be careful" Tsunade barked.
Pushing her apprentice past her limits "C..Can we stop" Sakura whimpered three hours later when it was nearing dinner time and the evening session, Tsunade easily agreed to her request but didn't heal her this time.
So the kenjutsu lesson was damn near impossible that night after eating dinner to regain some of her chakra "Here…if you bathe in these herbs it will help with the soreness, one of the female samurai recommended them" Mifune suggested.
Holding out a little satchel of muscle relaxant herbs to Sakura who seemed worse for wear at the moment "Thank you Mifune-dono and that woman to" Sakura grasped the pouch in her hands gently, sending up a prayer of thanks to her god for kind people.
Before rushing away to take a hot bath after adding the herbs to it to make a herbal bath, her muscles certainly enjoyed the herbs as they helped reduce the pain and by the time she was done Sakura was ready for sleep.
