"Considering i was going to meet with you anyway. I'm more then open to talking things out. Because i met with Haley. We talked about Sam. She doesn't have a strong history in regards to school but given her background that's no surprise. Haley and Nathan are offering their full support. The same can be said for our other friends as well." Lucas proclaimed.
"We're lucky and blessed. To have such a loving experienced support system to fall back on. I know we haven't discussed how exactly we were going to do this. Co parent the babies. But i figured we have months before the birth to prepare ourselves. So don't worry."
"Now to my news that couldn't wait which is what brought on the urgent text. Sam and I talked. I got some important insight. You need to know. The babies father is Xzavier Daniels."
"According to what Sam has told me. He doesn't know she's pregnant. And her boyfriend Jack is claiming the babies as his own. She signed over her parental rights. She gave that to me. She wants the adoption to be closed. Once she gives birth we'll be the parents."
"Luke i know this isn't an ideal situation." Brooke stated.
Lucas's took a deep breath. His eyes going wide as he stared back at her.
"Not an ideal situation! Xzavier Daniels is a criminal! he has a lengthy wrap sheet. We now know he's a predator. Abusive. His own brother left the house they were living in to escape him being of how he was being treated. Which means if finds out about Sam's pregnancy. He's going to make her pay for hiding it and for making plans that don't include him."
"She's a threat. A target. We can't go through with this." Lucas replied.
"Will you keep you're voice down. Sam is asleep upstairs." Brooke announced.
"Why is she in you're house at all.?" Lucas questioned.
"I offered for Sam to live with me. At least until after the babies are born. I figure once that happens. I could get her a place to live. She'll be 16 by then. She's emaciated. I figure her gifting us with these babies. The least i can do is help her get on her feet. Maybe set a savings account for college aside if she wants to go in the future." Brooke proclaimed.
"Are you hearing yourself. You are making plans for this girl. Giving her so much. Which is what i expect with you're big heart but there are too many risks involved for us to get involved with this girl." Lucas stated.
"She needs us Lucas. Our love and support. She's basically spent her whole life alone. She needs a family. People who care about her. We know first hand what it means to be abandoned and left behind." Brooke replied.
