Jennifer didn't expect to be carrying a basket with a baby named Ruby. After her mother died to monsters that she can't describe, she has no idea where she is going.

"I gotta take this baby out of the cold before she gets sick," Jennifer thought as she looks around to see snows and tree head of them still and Jennifer looks at Ruby and said to her, "Don't worry, Ruby, I'll find somewhere for you that safe,"

Jennifer then heard a stick snap, and she quickly pulled out her Protection glaze and aimed where the sound was coming from. She saw what was making noise as it walked out behind the tree. It turns out to be a deer, and she holsters her weapon and sighs for relief. Jennifer kept walking around the forest with the baby in her hand. Her luck turned around, where she found a small cabin in the woods with a car next to the house, but then she saw a dead older man with a missing head. Jennifer quickly runs inside, puts the baby onto the table, and goes back outside to see two monsters that resemble a wolf. Jennifer pulls out the Splattercannon and takes one of the monsters out while the other wolf dodges her bullets.

Jennifer moves the fight away from the house, and the wolf tries to bite her head off but gets a taste of plasma from her Protection glaze and finishes the wolf with her machine gun. Jennifer goes back into the house and finds the fireplace, and she throws a few logs in and starts the fire warming the house. Jennifer grabbed a chair and sat at the table with the baby, who was still asleep.

"Men, this kid is a hard sleeper," Jennifer thought to herself and checked her head and any sign of sickness "alright, you still okay that's good,"

Jennifer looks to see that her Pip-boy map is rebooting for about a minute and giving her hope that she found a town to find some answers. More importantly, find someone who knows about the mother and Ruby. A horrible thought came to her mind that she was doing what Kellogg did all those years ago, killing her husband and taking their baby away. But Jennifer shook those thoughts away.

"No, I'm nothing like that scumbag, and I'm saving this girl," Jennifer thought.

Jennifer looked down at her Pip-boy to see that the map is finally working and see that she is close by the town name "Wellspring." Jennifer hears the baby waking up and looks to see the baby.

"Hello, little girl," Jennifer said softly

Ruby made some baby talk

"Aren't you cutie? Don't worry. We're going somewhere safe but first, let's find something useful in this cabin,"

Jennifer looks around the house to find the fridge and the cabinet with a few foods in it. However, she does find the car key to the car outside, and she takes Ruby back out to the car, where she straps a seat belt around Ruby basket in the backseat trying to make herself. Jennifer gets in the driver seat and starts the car up, and the car is in working condition, and she drives off from the cabin. After about a 30-minute drive, Jennifer reaches the town of "Wellspring" to see it was a small-sized town with a few people walking around the town. She parks the car and takes Ruby out of the car seat, and then she is approached by a blonde woman with black eyes wearing a brown coat, a red shirt, a gun holster, white pants, black boots, and a silver necklace.

"Well, looks like we got a new face in town," said the women

"Um, who are you?" said Jennifer

"I'm the town sheriff, Alex Star, and you are?"

"I'm Jennifer King, and I glad to find someone like you see, I found this baby in the woods, and her mother died,"

"Let me guess some Grims killed her,"

"Yes," then thought, "I guess what's those monsters are called"

"Those damn monster,"

"So do you know anyone in this town noise about this baby and her mother the baby name is Ruby,"

"This a small town and everybody knows each other, and I for sure never saw this baby before. What did the mother look like,"

"Black and red hair wore a white cloak, and has silver eyes,"

"Nope, don't recall someone that fit this description,"

"Damn,"

"I guess you're the only caretaker for now,"

"At least do you have a place where we can rest stop for a few days until I figure something out,"

"I can, and I know somewhere far safer to raise baby then this town, but I won't do it for free,"

"Let me guess I have to go kill some bandits for Ruby and me to stay in this town and that safe place you talk about," Jennifer said with a sarcastic tone.

"Actually, yes, how did you know?"

"That supposed to be sarcastic,"

"Yeah, I can tell, and we do have a bandit problem, and I can't seem to get rid of them. Take out their base camp, and they would go away,"

"Alright, just give me the location of this bandit camp and have someone take care of Ruby for me,"

"Sure can do I'll go get the town doctor,"

The sheriff goes look for the town doctor, and Jennifer holds up Ruby close to her and says to her.

"I'll be right back, Ruby. I have to take care of this town bandit problem,"

Ruby made some baby talk and smiled at Jennifer, making Jennifer smile back.

The town doctor and the sheriff come to Jennifer. Alex tells Jennifer the bandit camp location. Jennifer hands Ruby to the town doctor, and she heads off to take care of the town bandit problem.
