Jennifer and Ruby King a year later
In a year, Jennifer learns about the world she is in. She adapted quickly to it, learning about Fauns, Combat schools, Aura, Hunter and Huntress, Grimm, the currency of this world, and last technology. Jennifer took the job as KeyStone Freelance police handling cases that the police had trouble with, taking care of Grimms, and stopping major crime. The pay was great for Jennifer and provided what she needed for Ruby and herself. The two have been living in a lovely navy blue house that kind of reminds Jennifer of the old home she and her husband used to live in before the bomb dropped.
Ruby has started to grow hair and become bigger Jennifer can pinpoint that Ruby is now 18 months old and is a healthy baby girl for all that she has been through over the years. Jennifer still couldn't find Ruby's biological family, but she hasn't given up yet.
At that moment, Jennifer is on her knees in the living room, trying to get Ruby to walk for the time Ruby is sitting across from Jennifer.
"C'mon Ruby, walk come to mommy," said Jennifer in a soft, gentle voice
Ruby looks at Jennifer and sees something that caught her eyes, and she begins to get on her two legs.
"That's it, baby. Come to me," said Jennifer
Ruby begins to walk as best she could, and she goes near Jennifer but walks past her.
"What the" Jennifer thought
Jennifer then looks to see Ruby going to a packet of cookies that Jennifer bought earlier in the day, and Ruby grabs it and sits down.
"Wow, that's a bit heartbreaking," Jennifer thought as she got up and picked up Ruby, who was still holding the packet of cookies. "At least you learn to walk," Jennifer opened the packet of cookies and got one for her and Ruby.
Two months later, Jennifer came home from a long day of work and sat down on a couch at the dining room couch and relaxed.
"Who brings rocket launchers in a bank heist? That doesn't make sense at all," Jennifer thought.
Then Ruby walks over to Jennifer, holding a toy dog in her hand. Jennifer looks at Ruby.
"What is it, Ruby?"
Ruby tries to say something but is having trouble saying a word that makes Jennifer concern until she says her first words.
"Mama," said Ruby
Jennifer went from tried to excite "say that again,"
Ruby smile "mama,"
Jennifer goes down to Ruby and hugs her "ah, your first words are mama. I'm so proud of you," Ruby hugs back "mama,"
Jennifer stops hugging Ruby. "I think it's time for celebratory cookies,"
"Cookie," Ruby perked up.
"And of course, your second word is cookies,"
Six years later
Jennifer's relationship with Ruby quite well. Ruby begins to take an interest in weapons early for her age and asks tons of questions about Jennifer's weapons and her Pip-boy. Other than that, Ruby loves cookies and strawberries. It's her all-time favorite snack in the world.
Jennifer is in the kitchen, washing some strawberries in the sink. She hears the front door open, and she turns to see Ruby in the kitchen doorway but holding something in her left hand behind a wall. Ruby wore a red scarf, red jacket, white shirt, black skirt, and white and red shoes.
"Hello Ruby, how was pre-school?" said Jennifer
"Great, I made a new friend," said Ruby
"Oh really,"
"It's alright, my mama is super nice," Ruby said to someone with whom she held someone's hands behind the ball.
"I'm guessing you brought your new friend over, Ruby," said Jennifer
"Yep, she just shy,"
Then coming out behind the wall as Ruby walks to the right reveals a bunny girl with brown hair and brown eyes; she wore a tan long sleeve shirt, white, brown shorts, and brown shoes.
"Hi sweetie, what is your name?" said Jennifer looking at the bunny girl
"V-velvet," said the girl.
"Hello, Velvet. I'm Ms. King. Nice to meet you," Jennifer holds her hand out for a handshake.
Velvet shakes it "you don't hate me?"
"Of course not. Why do you think that?"
"Because people don't like Faunus,"
"Well, Velvet, I'm not one of those people. I like a person for who they are," then Jennifer thought, "definitely not of those jackass Anti-Fauns,"
Velvet smile "okay,"
"I told you my mama is nice," said Ruby
"Now, would girls like some snacks," said Jennifer
"Yes," Ruby and Velvet said at the same time.
"Alright, then I'll get started. You two can run along, and I'll call when I finish,"
"Ok, mama," said Ruby as she takes Velvet to her room
"Those girls are cute together. I should take a picture and put it in the photo album," Jennifer thought as she takes brownie mix from the cabinet.
The next day Jennifer was in the front door mowing the lawn and saw Ruby coming home with Velvet and another girl. She had brown hair with some orange strake, black sunglasses on the forehead, a white t-shirt, black pants, and black and orange shoes. Three girls stop at the driveway.
"Hi mama," said Ruby
"Hi Ruby, hello Velvet," said Jennifer
"H-hi," said Velvet
Jennifer looks at the girl with the sunglasses, "and who are you, dear?"
"My name is Coco,"
"We met when some girl tries to pick on Velvet, but we put a stop to it," said Ruby
"Yep, she was uncool. Especially her clothes look crappy and raggy,"
"...alright why don't you girls go inside? It's too hot to play outside," said Jennifer
"Okay, let's go, girls," said Ruby as Velvet and Coco follow her into the garage.
"What a weird kid, nice but weird," Jennifer thought as she continued to mow the lawn.
Author note: Ruby made two new friends, which is Velvet and Coco. Let me know what you guys think?"
