Coco and Ruby arrive at the ceremony. They see Velvet waiting for them in the middle of the training area.

"Where were you, Ruby?" said Velvet

"Oh, she was just chatting with the guy who vomited in the airship," said Coco

"To be fair, it was motion sickness," said Ruby

"Okay, anything else you two talk about,"

"Nope, just weapons and school,"

"Of course, you'll get into the conversation about weapons,"

"So did you meet anyone else, Ruby?" said Velvet

"Oh yeah, I meet this one girl who was all mean, and I explode in front of her,"

"Wait, what?"

"You blew up?" said Coco

"You!" the three friends turn to see Weiss coming up to Ruby.

"Ah, not you again," said Ruby

"Your lucky that you didn't blow us off the cliff,"

"Wow, you did explode," said Coco

"Yep, and I made a huge cater," said Ruby

"Here," Weiss said, showing Ruby a pamphlet labeled 'Dust for Dummies and other inadequate individuals.' Weiss starts reading the warning label to Ruby. "This girl," Weiss angrily thought and said, "yes and never go near or talk to me,"

Ruby takes the pamphlet "no problem ice queen,"

Coco steps in "alright, um, what's your name?"

"Weiss Schnee,"

"A Schnee wow Ruby, you almost blow up the heir to the largest dust company,"

"Hey, she wouldn't stop shaken that dust near my face," said Ruby

"Anyway, I think you two should try to forget about what happens and start a clean slate,"

"I agree," said Velvet

"Hm, fine. Hi, I'm Ruby King, and nice to meet you, Weiss Schnee. I hope we can get along throughout the school and hang out," said Ruby

"Oh yeah, then we'll go shopping, paint our nails, and talk about boys like tall, blonde and saggy over there," Weiss said sarcastically and pointed at Jaune.

"I don't know. You probably would freeze Jaune to death due to the coldness coming off you," Ruby fired back.

The two girls are looking furious at each other and clenching their fists. Waiting for one of them to say something so that the other would land the first strike until Ozpin comes up to the stage and starts his speech.

"I'll keep this brief. You have traveled here today in search of knowledge. To hone your craft and acquire new skills, and when you have finished, you plan to dedicate your life to protecting the people around you. But I look among you, and all I see is wasted energy, in need of you, and purpose of direction. You assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time at this school will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far. It's up to you take to the first step,"

Ozpin stepped off the stage, and Glynda took his spot "you will gather in the ballroom tonight. Tomorrow, your initiation begins. Be ready. You all are dismissed,"

"Men, that guy seems off," said Velvet

"It's like he was never there," said Ruby

Jaune comes up to the girls, "I'm a natural Blonde, you know," making Weiss press her fingers against the bridge of her nose.

"That's nice to know Jaune,"

Meanwhile, Qrow is at the village Keystone looking around for someone. He approaches a man setting up his fruit stand.

"Excuse me, I'm looking for someone," said Qrow

"And who would that be?" said the man

"Jennifer King,"

"Oh, Mrs. King, she nice women have a bit of a smart mouth, though. Why are you looking for her?"

"I just need some questions that I need answers for,"

"If you were looking for Mrs. King, then you should check the police station,"

"Thanks for the help,"

Qrow goes to the police station and finds out that Jennifer is in the woods taking care of Grimm's, and Qrow heads out into the woods. Qrow looks around the woods for Jennifer and is ready to take down any Grimm that comes near him. Unfortunately, Qrow didn't look where he was going and ended up stepping foot on a rope trope, and he got hung upside down by his right foot.

"Just great," Qrow thought cynically, then see a Beowolf comes by and see Qrow hanging "whelp, I better get this over with,

Before Qrow could cut himself down from his rope, a shot was fired, and the Grimm died. Qrow turns to see a brown-haired woman wearing black leather armor and holding a sniper rifle, and she looks at Qrow.

"How's it hanging," said the women grinning at her joke

"Did you just say that lame joke?" said Qrow

"Hey, I couldn't come up with something clever," Qrow uses his weapon to cut himself down from his rope "impressive,"

"I'm guessing your Jennifer King?"

"Yep, and who you might be?"

"The name is Qrow Branwen. I'm here about Ruby King,"

Jennifer gets serious "what do you want with my daughter?"

Qrow tightening her grip on his weapon "Your daughter! She's Summer Rose, daughter,"

Jennifer realize whom he is talking about "you mean the woman in the white cloak,"

"Yes,"

"Are you Ruby, Father?"

"No, she is my niece,"

"so Ruby, uncle,"

"Yes, I have another question. Did you murder Summer,"

"No, I didn't. She was dying from her wounds from a Grimm attack, and I try to save her, but she dies from it, so I help take care and raise Ruby,"

"Then why didn't you try to find her father or her family?"

"I've been trying to find Ruby family, but I keep coming up short,"

"I can't tell she is lying or not," Qrow thought.

"So now what are we going to do now?"

"I suggest coming with me to Beacon to meet someone who is interested in you,"

"Hm, how do I know if it's not some sort of trap?"

"It isn't." Qrow takes out his flask and drinks some of his alcohol.

Jennifer thinks for a moment, "alright, I go with you, but if you try anything to kill me, I'll turn you into ashes,"

"Fair, I guess,"

"Good, now just have to clear my schedule for this trip with an alcoholic,"

"I'm not alcoholic,"

"Yeah, I could smell the booze off. You don't worry I'm not judging,"

"She is going to be something on this trip," Qrow thought.
