I pigoo's I just wanted to notify you that...

PTSD or post-traumatic stress disorder is when someone has flashbacks of a traumatic time in their life, this can occur when someone acts a certain way, speaks the same words or shows the person with PTSD a place looking similar to where the traumatic event took place. Flashbacks also happen, these are often mistaken for nightmares.

"What is it druggie, you need protection from us. Are we scary?" Walter's face was smug.

Alex was gathering up his few things that he had unpacked earlier and put them back in his duffle back ready to move to K-Unit's hut, he stood up, smirked at him and said "Nah, I'm just moving in with my buddies."

"Ph, yeah buddies right. Are you sure it's not protectors"

"Oh I know they're protectors, they're just protecting you from me." the cabin went silent apart from the normally quiet boy, James, in the corner.

"Oh, you got owned Walter." James sat back against the wall of the cabin and crossed his arms, shocked that he spoke the boy's turned to look at him, meanwhile Alex made his escape to K-Unit.

He dragged his feet through the mud, rain was falling and splattering against his waterproof jacket and duffle bag, his hair fell flat over his face, only to be ruffled again once he stepped under the overhang above K-Unit's door. He wondered if he should knock or just go in, he wanted to turn away, go back to where he came from but he knew that was worse. He knocked on the door and flinched slightly as it opened. He stepped in.

"That's your bed." Snake pointed to a single bed close to the door and the window, so if the need arises he can escape. It was the same bed he slept in the first time he came to the SAS camp. He swung his bag down under the bed and sat on top. It wasn't a bunk bed so he didn't have to duck down to get under, which was lucky otherwise he would have banged his head. Alex looked around the room, judging everything, where all the others slept, how far away they were from the door, to the window.

Snake slept on the bottom of the bunk in the opposite corner Alex with Eagle on top. Wolf slept on the bottom of the other bunk, the one in the bottom right of the cabin, no one slept on top.

"We would have given you the bed above Wolf's but we thought you'd like to sleep there instead." Eagle smiled at the teen before turning over in his bunk to do a crossword, a bit boring for Eagle as he is supposed to be the most energetic of the group but then Wolf spoke up.

"Eagle, you done with my crossword yet?" Eagle mumbled a 'No' and Wolf sighed meanwhile Snake was looking at Alex still, checking any visible signs of injury.

"Anything medical I should know 'bout cub?" Alex froze for a second before shaking his head.

"Nothing you don't know already." he replied, tempted to feel his sniper wound above his heart. He lay back on the bed and another hour passed by, Eagle doing Wolf's crossword and Wolf asking if he'd done it yet, snake was shuffling some cards over and over again, they were all in deep thought but all Alex could think about was his parents, his uncle, Sabina's family, Jack, the CIA agent's that died, the countless people he killed either by pulling a trigger, throwing or swiping a knife. He thought of those people's wives or husbands, children or relatives that won't see their loved one again, he thought of Paul Drevin, a friend he had made while trying to stop Ark Angel. Those people are dead because of me, Alex let a single tear roll down his cheek before wiping it away with his finger. Then he thought of Ben, or fox as K-Unit called him, he wasn't here now because he work for MI6, he thought of the empty bed above Wolf. He thought of the cold, washed sheets and the hard mattress. He wondered how Ben was doing, was he on a mission or safe at home. Another tear fell down his cheek, but he didn't stop it. Wolf saw it.

"You good, cub?" Alex nodded. "You play poker?" another nod. "Shall we play poker?"

"OOoo goodie, I'm bored of this crossword!" Eagle jumped off his bed suddenly making Snake jump.

Alex giggled "Eagle, you didn't by any chance stop doing the crossword ages ago."

Eagle stopped in his tracks expecting Wolf to come at him "Ye-yeah... how did you know?"

"Just did, and did you or did you not start drawing on Wolf's white T-shirt?" Alex grinned as he saw Eagle go red, and turn to face Wolf who was clenching his now white fists. "And did you by any chance write on it 'I smell like poo'?"

Eagle ran, followed by Wolf, they ran out of the Cabin and round in circles.

"Cub, how did you know?" Snake was laughing and a wide smile was spread across his face.

"I heard a pen open about half an hour ago, since I could see you and Wolf it had to Eagle who opened it." he continued, "Also there's a white t-shirt with the words 'I smell like poo' hanging off the bed."

Wolf came back in and grabbed the T-shirt, he threw it in Alex's face and went to go and sit on his bed.

"Where's Eagle?" Snake asked, a grunt came in response.

"He escaped!" Wolf grumbled. Alex and Snake burst out laughing, not being able to hold it in much longer, happy tears ran down their cheeks as they struggled to breath. Alex felt happy again, it had been a long time since he was last.

Eagle didn't come back in that night but bunked in L-Unit's cabin.

Alex was the last to fall asleep in K-Unit and when he did he went right into a flashback/nightmare.

-Alex's flashback/nightmare-

Lying on his stomach, Alex looked out through the gap between the bottom of the house and the sand. He saw Drevin reach the water's edge and knew that he wasn't coming back. Slowly, dreading what he was going to find, he crawled back out into the open and went over to Paul.

There was a lot of blood. Alex was certain that the boy was dead, and he was overwhelmed by a feeling of sadness and guilt. But then, to his surprise, Paul opened his eyes. Alex knelt down beside him. Now, looking closely he could see that, beneath the blood, the damage might not be as bad as he feared. Paul had been shot in the shoulder and the Arm.

The vision went blurred and then came back into focus.

"What happened here?" someone asked.

"Drevin," Alex said, "he hit his son instead of me."

"How bad is it?" Shulsky addressed one of the two men.

"I think he's going to be ok," the man replied, "He's lost blood, and we're going to have to helicopter him out of here as soon as possible. But he'll live."

Alex felt a wave of relief wash over him, paul was going to be alright, paul was going to live.

The vision blurred again, it came back into focus later.

"You remember the button I was telling you about?"

Alex nodded, the button was going to blow up Gabriel 7 before it could reach Ark Angel. "Yes."

"Well it seems, I was wrong. There isn't one. We can't blow up Gabriel 7. There's nothing we can do to stop it."

It went out of focus, back in again.

He had done it, Alex had stopped Ark Angel from falling from space onto Washington, he stopped Jack from dying. He was happy, he had stopped tonnes of people dying including Jack.

-out of dream-

His vision in the dream blurred again and the nightmare continued.

-in dream-

Memories flooded through, He watched Jack explode, He saw the recording of his dad getting 'shot' but not really, however it was real enough. He watched his godfather die and he didn't care, watched as Yassen sunk to the floor of the plane. He watched himself find out about all the lies he had been living until his uncle died. He watched Scorpia members sink to the floor dead, he killed them. He watched Steel Watch, Combat Jacket, Spectacles and Silver Tooth drop to the floor dead in front of him, he replayed the moment Tamara Knight was shot. He remembered Belinda Troy and her fake husband dive into the depths below, the last time he saw them. He remembered the no tongue guy die, he remembered Sayle die. He remembered hearing that innocent guard at the airport had died and was stuffed in a cupboard. He remembered shooting the president. And it went on and on and on, he remembered getting tortured by scorpia, he remembered watching Nile fall out of the air balloon. It went on and on.

-Out of the dream-

Wolf, Snake and Eagle woke up to screams of 'No, no please no. Stop, stop.' They all got out of bed and sat next to Alex's bed. He was sweating and crying, his salty tears mixed with the sweat as he shook. He mumbled 'No. Please, no. Stop, not Jack, no. I killed them, their dead because of me. No, stop it. No, please no. Just no'

They looked at each other before turning back to Alex. Snake shook Alex to wake him up. The next second Snake was on the ground, knife hanging close to the throat, Alex crouched over him.

"Jeez, Cub what happened." silence...

Alex walked out into the midnight rain and headed for the forest, he climbed a tall tree and sat in it's branches leaning against the trunk, no one had followed. No one had dared to.

-back in cabin K-

"What do you think happened?" Wolf said, worried for Cub.

"It's obvious isn't it, he had a nightmare." Eagle suggested.

Snake shook his head, he was still staring at Alex's bed "No, it wasn't a nightmare."

"Well what was it. He's just a kid, I'm saying it's a nightmare." Wolf 's voice was full of concern though, like he doubted his own words.

"I-I forgot to tell you... because I thought Cub would. Wolf, Eagle, Jackal the kid has PTSD." Snake looked down.

Eagle's face was filled with half horror and half pity whereas Wolf just stood in disbelief "What as in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder?" Snake nodded.
