Okay, I am really excited about this! I have re-written, re-imagined, and re-plotted this story, and I am really excited to hear your reactions and thoughts on this chapter and on future chapters. Enjoy!

Chapter 1:

Lois: Clark and I have been married for 1 year. One amazing year. We had just returned from a celebratory dinner with some friends and family when our lives took another unexpected turn.

"Gosh, I've literally been daydreaming about taking these shoes off all night," I say as I walk through our creaky front door unstrapping them as I go. I stumble and Clark catches me before I faceplant into the hardwood floor. Ouch, that would've hurt.

"Careful there, or you might end up with an even worse headache in the morning," Clark teases.

"I'm not that drunk" I respond, "I am simply, slightly buzzed"

We're halfway up the stairs and Clark opens his mouth to respond, something no doubt sarcastic, when someone knocks on our door frantically.

Clark groans, "Who could it possibly be at this hour?" I attempt to follow him back down the stairs but immediately decide that I would rather sit and wait for him to come back. Not because I got dizzy one step down, no, never because of that.

"Hello?" I hear him say as the door creaks open, we really have to fix that.

I hear a womans voice respond "Clark Kent. Are you Clark Kent?"

"Yes, I am."

"Kal-El, you are Kal-el" She breathes out, almost in disbelief. Hearing that I immediately sober up, not that I wasn't sober in the first place. I creep down the staircase silently to get a better look at this woman. She was a right mess. She seemed young and beautiful, but I couldn't really tell under all the dirt and dried blood covering her face and torn clothes. Maybe 19 or 20. She was holding a bundle of blankets in her arms. Clark stood defensively at the door, fists clenched, but obviously hesitant to act on his instincts to defend against this woman who was so clearly relieved to find him. Her posture slumped forward in that relief and unshed tears in her eyes finally spilled over.

"I mean no harm to you or your family," she said in-between sobs "I just need…I need…. I need you to protect mine."

Hardly being able to get the words out she begged "Raise him well, please." And she lowered her head to the bundle of blankest kissed it and handed it to a fumbling Clark. She tore her eyes off of the bundle and ran into the street and stood there. Before Clark could react or put the bundle down, she had already been hit.

Clark stood there in shock and finally turned his eyes down to the bundle to look at what she had given him. I came next to him and looked as well. And there, swaddled in a blue blanket, was a beautiful baby boy. Sleeping peacefully and completely unaware that he had just lost one of the most important people he might have ever had in his life. His mother.

AN: I wanted to make this chapter longer but I felt that this was a good emotional end for it and that if I added more then it would take away from Sally's sacrifice. What do you think? Constructive criticism is welcome. Also, I have been having thoughts about an Avatar: The Last Airbender/Percy Jackson crossover… Anywhoooo, see you next time!
