AN: Naash, with how I am planning this story, he will have a lot of character development and I am looking forward to when the story shows Sauske as well. Also, try to guess who the mystery person that appears is ;p Also, I will try to upload this story around once a week, more if possible. Hope everyone is doing well with the pandemic going on, and enjoy the chapter. Remember to review for any story ideas you have! Also, this story takes place in like an alternate timeline (sort of, some events still occurred, like all of the events in Naruto and Naruto Shippuden, but none of the events in Boruto. Also, this takes place a few years after the events of the Boruto anime, so Himawari is around 16-17. Also, for those of you wondering, Iwa is 16, and yes, this story takes place over many years, so yes there will be a couple timeskips.)
After Jake's spar with Rock Lee
I knocked on the door, and after a few minutes, Boruto opened it.
"Hey, Iwa! How are you doing?" he asked.
"Fine. What about you?" I responded.
"Good. The graduation test is coming up soon, and Dad thinks that I can pass it. He said all that I have to do is steal the village's scroll, learn the Shadow Clone Jutsu, make an army of Shadow Clones, and then beat up a traitor to the village." I stared at him. "I think he was kidding. You know I'm a Jonin."
"No duh, stupid," I said as we entered the kitchen.
"Iwa, you made it!" said Hinata.
"Glad you made it." said Naruto.
Himawari looked over in my direction, got red-faced, and turned away quickly.
"What's up with her," I leaned over and asked Boruto, jerking my thumb at Himawari. He looked over at her.
"Dunno."
"Wait..." I said, realizing the scene I was in. Hinata and Himawari were at the table, and Naruto was at the stove cooking. "Hinata..."
"Yes?" she asked innocently with a slight grin on her face,
"Why is Naruto cooking? I thought you said you were cooking?" I said, and Hinata, Naruto, and Boruto started bursting out laughing. "What? What's so funny?" They all just kept laughing. "Whatever," I huffed and crossed my arms.
"Iwa, you can sit by Himawari." said Naruto. "The food's done."
"I don't trust your cooking. If I knew that you were cooking, I would have just ordered from Ichiraku." I said, but I sat down anyway. "How are you doing, Himawari?"
"G-Good," she muttered, and then got even redder.
"Oh, before I forget, Sauske sent a message." Hinata told Naruto.
"What about?" asked Naruto.
"He said his mission was somewhat of a failure. He got a little bit of information, but not all of what you asked for."
"Is he on his way back?"
"Yeah. He said he should be here by tomorrow or day after."
"Cool, thanks for letting me know."
"What was his mission about?" I asked.
"Just a little bit of information gathering, nothing major." said Naruto. "Now, everyone dig in." We all ate, and I would occasionally catch Himawari looking at me from the side of her eye. Every time she saw me looking, she looked away and continued eating. I looked at Boruto, and we both fell over laughing. "What's funny?" asked Naruto, looking confused.
"Nothing." said Boruto. Himawari just got even more red-faced.
-After-Dinner-
" Bye guy's, thanks for the meal" I said as I walked out the door.
3rd person POV inside Naruto's house
"You like him, don't you," said Boruto.
"I do not!" shouted Himawari, embarrassed.
"Now, now you two, settle down. If she does like him, which I'm not saying she does, but if she does, so what? What's the problem with it?" asked Hinata.
"Nothing." said Boruto.
"Exactly." said Naruto.
"But, in the off chance that I do like him, do you think that he would like me back?" asked Himawari.
"What would there be not to like? You're cheerful, considerate, kindhearted, patient, and supportive?"
"Plus," added Boruto, "you're wicked strong, too!"
"Yeah, but..." mumbled Himawari.
"No buts," said Naruto firmly. "If that's how you feel about him, then let him know."
"Alright! I'll try!" said Himawari determinedly.
