"Shit...it code red" Jay curses looking at the lights of the floor ceiling
Lucy, Jay and some of the others run down the halls towards the entrance
The patients with blood stained clothes already coming in while multiple ambulances stop outside with more severely injured
"There was an accident, major on the highway" the paramedic begin as they run the body of a elderly inside on the stretcher
"Highway? How many more?" Lucy checks the patient who was loosing a lot of blood, his pulsing slowing down
"The intersection between the vamps and us" he says leaving her to freeze her hands on the body
"I can't pick you up today"
"It's okay..."
"We got another lead...and we need to go after them. I'm sorry"
"No...it's really fine natsu, Jay can drop me"
The guy listening gave her a thumbs up
"Okay then I'll see you when-
Lucy rushes out to the rows of ambulances coming, her mind frantically running mounts of questions
Bitting the inside of cheek, she reaches out to one of the paramedic
"Ar-are there any va-vampires with you?"
"Huh? Yeah..there were quite a lot" he thinks hands on hips "some were injured, I think"
But her job called, she couldn't ask for more questions ; she had to hurry in treating them
She ties her hair up into a tight knot
Vampires heal, he'll be okay she thinks heading inside the ward

It was close to midnight, the hectic hours die down.
"Lucy, calm down" Jay says a little loud
"I can't, he isn't answering my calls or looking at my texts" she clutches her phone "none of them"
"He was busy since morning, their phone could loose charge or maybe they broke it during the chase or they forgot them somewhere"
Lucy shakes her head "or something worse too"
"Girl...this is not-" Jay pauses looking away
"What? Why did you sto-" she looks over his eyeline
Her breathing relaxes for the first time in hours, dropping her head in her hands. Letting her hands run through her tight bun, messing it
"Let me see myself out. Adios" Jay leaves the reception for her
He winks at the male coming towards Lucy, who scrushes his face mouthing a no
Stopping before the table dividing them, he knocks to get her to look up but she doesn't
"Lucy?"
He calls softly, leaning over but she doesn't reply, the body just swaying in her chair
"I can hear your heartbeats remember?"
He walks around, going inside the little room made. Crouched down to her level, hands up in the air to ruffle her hair
"Don't"
Natsu's palm pauses, his fingers already in contact with her strands
"You fucking idiot" she lifts her head, eyes filled with tears "i hate you"
Natsu wides his eyes, feeling the emotional change on the Lucy, she would be angry or just joke around
Why are you crying?
The very slight hint of protectiveness over the girl doubled up when the first tear fell
"Natsu...you-" her voice muffled when he pulls her into his chest, the tears soaking his thin black t-shirt
An awkward hand rubbing circles on her head unsure on what to say
Lucy's hands gripped his shoulder, clenched in her fists and she brought herself close to him as she possibly could
Not long after, she calmed down. The tiredness and crying giving away her strength
Sensing her grip loosening, he shifts to turn his head to her "Lucy?"
"I can't-im too tired" she mumbles head still pressed to his chest
"Let's go home then" he lifts her up, hands under her legs and around her shoulder
Lucy's face was now right next to his neck, inhaling in the smoky wood scent with a weak smile she says
"you smell good, i wanna bite you"
"Sure belle..."
Sleep took over before she could reply, her mind drifting off on cloud 9
