Magicite was tired. Sick and tired of all this demigod schist. She'd just been heading out of Jump City after a long quest (involving a peacock, Medusa, confetti, mirror paint, a bottle of nectar, and seven and a half spoons - don't ask), cheerfully skipping along the beach in the moonlight, happy to go back to camp, when a chimera decided that this was the perfect time to attack the random demigod cheerfully skipping along the beach.

Magicite sighed, her happy demeanour gone, to be replaced by a 'why-do-I-have-to-deal-with-this' grimace. She gripped the glue stick in her pocket tightly, ripping the cap off to reveal an Imperial gold whip, and began the deadly, yet strangely beautiful dance of battle.

Just around when she started to gain the upper hand, a shadow flew across her vision, jumping from roof to roof. Superheroes. Her lip curled in distaste. It wasn't that she had anything against them personally, it's just that they had a habit of sticking their nose into demigod business and almost revealing divine secrets to the world.

Continuing to fight, she mentally noted details of the newcomer. 'Traffic-light-coloured costume, check.' Robin, her mind supplied. If she remembered correctly, Robin was Batman's sidekick/partner, (she wasn't quite sure which at the moment) and and leader of a superhero group that protected Jump City, Teen Titans was it? He had no superhuman powers, and instead relied on gadgets and intellect. And, apparently, was fond of talking to himself while running across rooftops. Magicite could only hear occasional words, and couldn't quite distinguish his voice, though it sounded familiar for some reason. "Raven- Starfire- Beast Boy-jealous?-never-but really unnece-WHAT THE HECK IS THAT!?"

A small part of her mind said, 'huh, clearsighted.' But mostly she was simply shocked. Because that voice. She knew that voice. And for a moment, she was River Grayson again, alone and afraid. "Dick?" she choked out, and the everything went black.
