AN: So, guys, Ethan has 2 Pokémon now, a Nidoran M and an Eevee! I'm going to list his Pokémon before every chapter, so you guys all know what's going on. Also, sorry for the sudden switch from 3rd person to first person, from now on this will be a first person story.

Eevee, Lvl 8, Moves:

Helping Hand, Tackle, Tail Whip, Sand Attack

"Alright guys, I'm going to head out!" I yelled as I left the house. "Come on out guys!" I called, sending out my Pokémon. "Let's go see the Professor, he said he should still have a Pokedex for me." I said as we started walking towards the Lab. "Professor?" I called. He walked from around a bookshelf.

"Ah, hello Ethan!" He said, looking seeing me walk into the door. "What brings you here? And what... wait, are those Pokémon you have there?" He asked, looking to the two by my side.

"Yup!" I said proudly, standing up straighter. "Oh, yeah, I came to ask two questions. One, do you have any leftover Pokedexes, and if so, can I have on?"

"Sure." He said, standing up and walking over to a table. He walked back holding a Pokedex. "Here you go!" He handed me the Pokedex.

"Thanks! Also, second question, why is my Nidoran blue? Is it sick?" I asked, looking at it worried.

"No, no its not sick." said Oak, chuckling. "It's called a shiny. It's a quite rare occurrence in which a Pokémon is a different color than normal. It seems that you are very lucky. Is that all you needed?"

"One more question, I heard that you give new a trainers a couple of pokeballs?" I asked.

"Yes, here you go." He said, handing me four. "I normally give five, so they have enough to fill their team, but you already have two Pokémon, so I'm going to give you four instead."

"Alright, thanks!" I said as I walked out. I started walking towards Route 1 with my Pokémon beside me. "Alright, so I can only catch Pidgey and Ratatta on Route 1, which should I catch?" I asked my Pokémon. "Walk over to my right for Pidgey, left for Ratatta." Eevee walked to the left as Nidoran walked to my right. "Well, looks like we have a tie. Let's ask him." I said pointing to a random person.

"Excuse me!" I called, running up to him. He turned to look at me. "Sorry for bothering you, I just wanted to ask you something. I'm about to depart on a Pokémon journey, and I wanted to ask your opinion on which I should catch, a Pidgey or Ratatta." He turned to observe my Pokémon.

"Is this your entire team? He asked, observing them.

"Yes..." I replied nervously.

"Well, then a Pidgey would give you better coverage, as you already have a normal type, Eevee. Ratatta is pure Normal type while Pidgey is Normal-Flying. I would say to go for a Pidgey." He replied.

"Thanks!" I called, walking away. "Was it just me, or did he seem a little...familiar?" I asked my Pokémon. They both just shrugged. "Well, doesn't matter. Let's get going." I walked to Route 1, where we saw a man in a Pokemart uniform.

"Hello!" He called energetically, waving me over. "I work for the Pokemart, you should consider checking them out in Viridian City! Also, you should mention me, I get a bonus every time I get someone to go to the mart." He said as I walked over.

"Thanks, will do!" I said, walking away. Then I saw a rustle in the bushes. "Go Nidoran, use Peck!" I cried, and Nidoran lunged at the rustle. It knocked a Ratatta out of the grass, and I sighed. "Well, might as well train." I said, and I engaged the Ratatta in a battle. I fought Ratatta for a while before finally spotting a Pidgey. "Go Eevee, use Tail Whip!" I cried, and Eevee ran up and whipped its tail in front of the Pidgey, lowering its Defense. The pidgey kicked up sand, but Eevee dodged before any could get into its eyes.

"Now use Tackle!" I cried, and Eevee slammed into the Pidgey. "Now, use Tackle one more time!" Eevee slammed into Pidgey, knocking it to the ground. "Now, go pokeball!"

"Alright, I caught a Pidgey!" I cried, jumping in the air. "Pidgey, come on out!" Pidgey came out of its pokeball, and it flew up and landed on my shoulder. "Ouch, that hurts!" I complained, and the Pidgey loosened its grip slightly. "Alright, let's get going!" I exclaimed. We trained a little more, and then arrived at Viridian City.

_AN: So, what do you guys think? In this chapter, Ethan grinded for a bit and caught a Pidgey. Also, who do you think that the person in Pallet Town that suggested Pidgey was? Also, I hope that you enjoyed reading, I'm going to take a break from my Life of a Shinobi story, as I had a plan for the next few chapters, but I forgot and I'm currently hitting writer's block, so yeah, reviews would be nice, thanks!
