I got this idea ever since Episode 9 came out. For me, I felt a bit disappointed of how the sequel trilogy had ended and that it could have been a lot better. But that's all my opinion. So I decided to make a rewritten sequel trilogy!

Now, some things from the movies will remain the same, but there will be different backgrounds and some plot twists. I don't want to spoil to much of my story, I want to keep most of it as a surprise. But what I do going to tell, is that Rey and Ben Solo in this story switch places, that Rey becomes Kylo Ren and Ben Solo the scavenger from Jakku. However, Ben suffers from amnesia and doesn't remember his past or who he once was, all that he remembers is his name. This first chapter serves as the prologue of the story.

All will be explained during the story, to keep the excitement up. So sit back, and enjoy my newest fanfic of Star Wars; Light and Darkness, bonded forever.

Chapter 1: The scavenger without a past

"Ben…." a young women's voice called out to the one how lied on his bed, in his small home. The guy named Ben recognized that voice. He stood up from his bed and walked out of his home.

Once he opened the door, the sun shined bright, hurting his eyes, making him to cover them. But he saw someone, in the shining ray of the sun, on top of a hill. It was the same young women that called out to him.

Ben wanted to see her face, to see who she was. But when he approached her, she vanished. The sun became dark, till its light went off, sending all of Ben's surroundings into darkness. The whole field ignited into fire. He heard people screaming for help or were dying. Then he saw in front of him a large building, what was some kind of temple that was burning and collapsed.

"Ben!" he heard the young women's voice, calling for him. Ben ran to where the sound came from, but couldn't find her "Ben, help me! Please!"

Ben kept running to where the women's voice came from. He saw the young women in front of him, wearing a brown cloak and her face covered with a hood. Ben ran towards her, but she went further away from him, no matter how hard he tried to reach her. A black-red fog surrounded them. He stretched out his arm to get to her, as she did the same, but was dragged into the fog "BEN!" Ben wanted to scream for her, but no words came from his mouth. The women yelled out his name as she disappeared into the dark fog "BEEEEEEEEN!"

Ben woke up startled from of his nightmare. He sat straight as he breathed heavily. He looked around him. He was still in the same old rusty place he had been using as his living space, inside a toppled AT-AT walker.

As Ben was able to calm himself down, he rubbed his face and deeply sighed. When he slowly stepped up from of his bed, he walked to one of the small windows and saw the sun was rising over the desert landscape of Jakku. Even though it was still early, Ben wanted to start scavenging crashed starships and fighters around the 'Starship Graveyard' as early as possible.

Ben took a portion of food and started to prepare it for his little quick breakfast. Scavenging for parts and sell it at Niima outpost for 'portions' was the only way to get food around here. Water was another precious thing to get around on this desert planet. Luckily, his skills as a mechanic to repair parts or vehicles for the people who lived around the area where moister farms were, he was able to earn some water from them as a token of thanks.

As his food was ready and started eating it, Ben thought about the nightmare he had last night. Ever since he'd mysteriously found himself on Jakku, Ben had been having these strange dreams or nightmares, about what seemed to him broken memories and every time in those dreams, there was a young women. But every time he never got to see her face, but felt that this women was very special to him. The problem was, Ben couldn't remember who she is or where she come from. Worse, Ben couldn't remember his own past, who he was, whatever he did all his life so far. All what he remembered, was his first name.

Ben wished, if he knew already who he was, he would have left this hellhole of a planet long ago. But somehow he couldn't. Like something inside him told that he should stay and wait. But wait for what, was an answer that was never giving to him or ever crossed his mind.

He sighed once he'd finished his food and walked to one of the mental walls with a small knife. On that wall, he always made a small scratch to mark the passage of time. He counted the many scratches on the wall and sighed deeply again as he said to himself "Three years. Three years I'm on Jakku now."

He sat back on his bed and became very frustrated as he held his hands on his head "Why can't I remember anything? Why can't I remember anything!?"

After a minute, he took something from under his bed. It was some sort-of old videorecorder from the time of the Empire, decades ago. Ben was able to fix it and used it to make himself a diary. It was for Ben a way that hoped that'll help him to remember some things of his forgotten past.

Ben wanted to listen to the very first recording he made nearly three years ago. He pressed a button an played it.

Ben saw himself covering a blanket in the image and had bandages over his head from a wound that he got a few days before this recorden, when he tried to defend himself from thieves, trying to steal his portions.

"This is my first recording. I… hope that this diary I'm making will help me to… remember who I really am and where I come from."

He sighed as he started saying "It has been two weeks now since I got stranded on this desert planet called Jakku. I found this old toppled AT-AT since day one and… I'm using it as a hideout, for a while at least. I don't know if anyone will ever come to rescue me or that I need to figure this out on my own…. I made contact with some of the locals at a place called 'Niima outpost'. The people there see me as nothing bu a stranger and treat me not so kindly. But, I… noticed that some people, probably scavengers, try to trade their goods to a Crolute they work for named Unkar Plott. The people call him 'The Blobfish', really funny. I tried to trade some the small goods I had to get some portions, as what that blobfish calls them, but they weren't worth anything to him. He said that if I want food, I need to go and search for parts…. So I did. I've been doing this for weeks now. It's the only way for me to survive as long as I can."

The image of Ben then sighed as he thought about what he did remember "All that I can remember… is my name. Ben. But nothing else." the image took a moment to tell something "I'm having these strange dreams. I think that they might be memories, but so far they don't make any sense. And always… I see a young women in those dreams… yet I cannot see her face, nor even knowing her name. When I tried to ask or tell her something, no words come from my mouth. But, she seem to know me…. I don't know if she's real or just some wild fantasy that my brain makes since I got stuck on Jakku…. But deep down, I hope she's out there… looking for me…."

The image stopped recording and the screen turned blank, showing in words: ENDING RECORDING #1.

Ben turned the recorder off and went out to search for more parts to sell for portions of food. He took his quarterstaff and went outside to where his own self-made speeder was. As he stepped on it, he covered his face, putted on his goggles and drove with his speeder with high speed to the 'Starship Graveyard'.

Along the way, he mentally asked himself, wandering 'These nightmares… they seem to get worse…. Is this a bad sign?'

After a whole day of searching for parts in a few crashed Imperial Star Destroyers and a totally busted Y-wing, Ben had loaded his speeder with over a dozen parts he could sell to the junk boss 'Blobfish'. With his speeder, Ben arrived at Niima Outpost. After parking his speeder, he dragged the parts with his net to where he could clean them before selling them.

A little while later, Ben stood in line before Unkar Plott's shop called 'Concession Stands' with his parts in a net. After waiting for some time before it was his turn, Ben heard a female scavenger pleading Unkar to give her some more portions "Please, Unkar! A quarter portion is not enough for me and-"

"Then find some better parts then these! A quarter portion, nothing more." Unkar told coldly that he refused to give the women more portions.

However, the women didn't leave "I beg of you…! My son is starving… just one quarter more, that's all I ask! Please!"

But the Crolute still refused and signaled one of his guards to take her away. As she was dragged away by the guard, she kept pleading "No! Please!"

All then other scavengers didn't said anything about it, for they were too afraid that if they said anything about it, Unkar wouldn't give them any food for the parts they collected. Ben was angry of what this heartless junk dealer did to these people and wished that one day that 'Blobfish' will get what he deserves.

"Next!" Unkar called. Ben walked up to him and placed the parts on the counter for him. Unkar looked sour at Ben "Well, well, well. If it isn't the stranger." Ben looked at him seriously, but said nothing as he allowed Unkar to examine the parts he'd collected.

Unkar took to see if they are worth to him. After a few minutes he said "These parts you brought me here are worth…. One and a half portions.". Unkar took one full portion and a half out of his store and handed it over to Ben on the counter. Ben sighed as he took them and left.

Ben walked back to his speeder while putting the portions in his pocket. But then he saw the same women from before at the entrance of the outpost, with her five year old son. She sat under the shadow of the entrance, trying to hold her tears as she had barely any food to feed both herself and her son. The young boy rubbed her mother's back, trying to comfort her.

Ben looked at them, feeling sorry that they had to suffer like this. He checked the portions he had in his pocket and thought it was unfair that he had so much and they had almost nothing. He walked up to them and held his two portions before the women. She looked at him surprised while Ben smiled to her "Here. Take it."

As she took the portions from him, tears flowed from her eyes as she was so grateful for his kindness "Bless you, stranger… bless you…"

Ben just shrugged and went back to his speeder. But as he wants to step on it, the same little boy from before pulled his sleeve. Ben looked at him. The boy then gave Ben the quarter portion from them to him "You can have our portion, mister. It wouldn't be fare that you're without foo"

Ben smiled as he took the quarter portion from the boy "Thanks kid." Ben then bend a knee and whispered to the boy "Listen, there are some crashed Y-wings in the 'Starship Graveyard' that have a lot parts in them that you and your mother can take. Look around a Star Destroyer called 'Sword breaker', near a dried up salt lake, you'll find a dozen of Y-wings."

The boy smiled widely and wanted to thank Ben for saying that, but he held his finger on his mouth to be quite about it "Shhh. Don't tell this to anyone, okay?" The boy nodded. Ben stood up and rubbed the boy's head before he stepped on his speeder and drove away from Niima Outpost.

Some time later in Ben's 'home', after eating his small portion, Ben used an old computer display to practice on a flight simulation. He had found this computer display more then two years ago in a Y-wing he found in a crashed Rebel Frigate and thanks to his skills as a mechanic, Ben was able to fix it. Though it did not only ran a flight simulation, in which Ben was a natural in flying, it also had some schematics of Rebel and Imperial starships in which Ben could use to find parts to sell on Niima Outpost.

The computer display also had a program in order to learn alien languages. Surprisingly, Ben was able to learn all these languages within a day. For when he started it, he suddenly remembered he always could understand them. Perhaps it could help to unlock some broken memories of his.

After finishing the flight simulation, Ben decided to go outside and sit on top of his home, watching the sunset. When he watched it for some time, he started to have a flashback.

"Beautiful, isn't it?" Ben asked to a teenage girl, who he recognized from his dreams, though she was a little bit younger. She sat on a small hill in the middle of a grass field, watching the same sunset. The girl nodded as Ben sat next to her. They started talking about something, what Ben couldn't hear.

Then he saw a different image, one where he and the same girl, who had grown up a few years. He and the girl watched a burning starship in the distance, as if they had succeeded in stopping some kind of evil. And before he knew it, the girl embraced Ben in her arms and kissed him.

When the flashback ended, Ben started to get a massive headache "Urgh!" Ben grinded his teeth when the pain kicked in.

After a minute, the pain had stopped. Ben tried to think of what that flashback meant 'That… young women… Who could she be?' he mentally asked himself.

Ben only had these flashbacks from time to time. But they started to get worse in the last few months. Was he slowly starting to remember who he was and who this women really is?

Ben remembered when he had his first flashback, when he was doing a small job for Unkar Plott; repairing a freighter that he had 'borrowed' from Toursant Irving and his brother Vanver. Ben was no fool, he knew that Unkar had stollen this freighter from the 'Irving boys' as they were called.

As soon as Ben entered the freighter, he saw in the flashback a human smuggler and his Wookiee companion and saw himself flying the freighter, what made the human smuggler a bit angry at him for not asking permission to fly the ship, but was also proud at how skilled he was as a pilot.

Ben wandered then that he might be related to this smuggler, but couldn't figure out who this man is and even IF they're related. Ben dropped the subject for a while, as no new flashbacks of this smuggler and his Wookiee companion came to him.

Ben went back inside and took the recording from under his bed. He turned it on to make a new diary recording.

As he started it, he took a moment to gather what was on his mind to tell "This is… recording number three-hundred. Today, it is now exactly three years ago since I've woken up on Jakku. I… I'm having these flashbacks now more often then ever. But they still don't make any sense to me who I was… what I've done… and who this young women is from my dreams. But I feel…" Ben sighed as he tried to remember his last flashback in detail "I feel that… this women… was special to me some time ago. I wish I knew… I wish I knew who she is. But also what I did, before I got here…. Sometimes I think that I was once a smuggler, or a… farmer or something. Maybe I'm just an… ordinary citizen that just had some bad luck" he chuckled a bit.

Then Ben confessed something to himself "These… nightmares that I'm having, they seem to get worse. I feel… cold. It is not the coldness of the nights on Jakku that I'm talking about…. It is something else… like some… evil force is getting stronger… and coming closer. I can't explain why I'm feeling this… maybe I always had this… I don't know. Maybe it has something to do with this organization called 'The First Order'. I've heard stories about them from merchants or travelers that come here from time to time. From what they've told me about them, it seems that they are up to no good. And if they come here… I can't even imagine what they'll be capable off…" Ben turned the recording off.

Meanwhile, on the Star Destroyer Finalizer

A fourty year old women screamed as she was tortured by a machine on which she was restrained to.

"AAAAAAAAAAAARGH!"

A First Order officer then nodded to a Stormtrooper to raise her up. He complied and pressed a button, making the torture to stop and let the women be lifted up. She panted from the enormous pain that the machine gave her.

The officer walked up to her and faced the prisoner. As she looked at him, he punched her hard in the face, breaking her nose! He then grabbed her face and said with a very serious tone "Where is Lor San Tekka?"

The women shook her head "I… don't know what you're talking about."

The officer then punched her hard in the midriff, breaking a rib. As she grind her teeth, the officer spoke "The First Order knows you had contact with Lor San Tekka. Give us his location and the pain will stop."

As she raised her head to glance at the officer, she said "You'll have to kill me first…"

The officer nodded to the Stormtrooper to continue the torture. As the trooper pressed the button, the women was slowly dropped to the machine. She screamed from the pain "AAAAAAAAAAAARGH!"

But then, she was raised from the machine all of the sudden. The officer scowled at the Stormtrooper "Did I order you to stop the torture, soldier!?"

"I-I-It wasn't me, sir."

Then someone else walked into the torture chamber, accompanied by two other Stormtroopers. The officer turned himself to see who it was and instantly was shocked it was a women, wearing a black robe, a cape with a hood and her face covered with a mask.

The officer stood straight and the Stormtrooper who was with him. The officer saluted to her "Kylo Ren."

The women named Kylo Ren walked up to the officer, looking at him like she had a fierce look in her eyes, what made the officer very nervous. With her mask on, she sounded with a deeper voice, saying "She will not be of any use to us if you kill her, officer."

Slowly the officer nodded "Y-yes, ma'am. I… the women refused to give us the location of Lor San Tekka, so-" then no words came from his mouth, as he was unable to breath, like some force was choking his throat.

Kylo Ren raised her right hand, still using to Force to choke him. The officer fell on his knees, grasping for air. Kylo Ren just looked with disappointment at the officer "I'm very disappointed, that you are unable to get such a small thing out of the head of this prisoner." She released him. The officer fell on the floor as he gasped for air. Kylo Ren then looked at the two Stormtrooper that came with her, ordering them to remove this officer from the chamber "Get him out of my sight." The troopers nodded and dragged the officer out of the chamber. She then signaled the other trooper to leave. He did so, and now it was only Kylo Ren and the prisoner in the room.

The women looked with fear at the women, Kylo Ren. She'd heard rumors about her. Rumors that she thought were nothing but fantasy. But after seeing her in person, she was more scared than she'd ever felt before.

Kylo Ren just looked at the women, waiting till the prisoner said something "So… the rumors I heard about you are true…"

"What did you heard about me?" Kylo Ren asked curiously as she leaned closer to the women.

Still frightened, the old women answered "That you… killed so many people for the Frist Order. And… destroyed the Jedi Praxeum…!"

Kylo Ren chuckled as she walked up closer to the prisoner, till they were face to face and said coldly "Tell you what. They are true." then Kylo Ren took a different direction to get what she wanted "Do you know why you have been brought here?"

"You… want to know where… Lor San Tekka is."

"He has a map that leads to Luke Skywalker." Kylo Ren then moved her hand close to the prisoners head, trying to see inside her mind "You know that he has it. And now you're going to tell me where that old man is hiding."

Struggling to get Kylo Ren from seeing into her mind, she says with lot of built up anger "I… won't… tell you… anything! The Resistance will stop you and the First Order!"

Kylo Ren then whispered into her ear "Where is your 'Resistance' now? They don't know that you are here. They won't come here to save you. I'm gonna give you… a choice. If you refuse to tell me, I can just simple look into your mind and find out for myself where the old man is hiding. But trust me, this will be… very painful. Or, you can tell me right now and you won't have to endure all this pain."

Tears were forming in the prisoner's eyes. She wouldn't be able to endure all this pain, but couldn't betray her friends. With the last bit of courage she'd gathered, she fiercely said "I will not tell you anything!"

Kylo Ren smirked under her mask and said "So be it."

With Kylo Ren's hand, a fierce power went into the women's head. The pain was unbearable. The women tries so hard not to give in, or allowing Kylo Ren to see her mind, but her powers were too strong. Kylo Ren pulled the prisoner to her with her power, looking deep in the core of her memories "Tell. Me. Where. He. Is."

The women couldn't handle the increasing pain anymore, as Kylo Ren looked deeper in her mind. She screamed out loud from the pain "AAAAAAAAAAAARGH!"

After a minute, Kylo Ren saw where Lor San Tekka was hiding. She released the women, who fainted from being forced to allow Kylo Ren to look into her memories. Kylo Ren shook her head as she saw where the old man is "How predictable."

She left the room and used her commlink to contact the ship's captain "We have the location we need. Set course for the Jakku system."

"Yes ma'am, were setting course now. Do you want me to inform General Hux?"

Kylo Ren despised General Hux cause of their increasing rivalry over commanding the forces of the First Order. But under orders from her master and Supreme Leader of the First Order, Snoke, they had no choice but to work together to hunt down and kill Skywalker. She nodded before breaking contact "Do it."

Then she used her commlink to contact Captain Phasma "Captain. Prepare an assault squad for me now and meet me in the hanger."

Captain Phasma nodded "Yes ma'am. I assume you have the location of the map to Luke Skywalker?"

"Yes. It is in the hands of Lor San Tekka. He hides in a village on Jakku. Expect some resistance. I want no failures. Gathering that map is our top priority." Kylo Ren explained before telling that she wants no failures in gathering the map.

"Yes ma'am. I won't fail you." Captain Phasma broke contact and to assemble an assault squad immediately.

Meanwhile, on D'Quar – Resistance Headquarters

General Leia Organa, leader of the Resistance against the First Order had summoned Commander Poe Dameron to her office.

Poe Dameron is the most skilled pilot of the Resistance. Leia well remembered his parents, who had been a part of the Rebellion during the Galactic Civil War against the Empire. Leia remembered how much Poe Dameron wanted to follow into his mother's footsteps to become a pilot and had become the commander of Rapier Squadron of the New Republic Defence Force. But, Poe had become disillusioned with the New Republic's inability to act against the First Order violations of the Galactic Concordance. When he heard that Leia Organa was organizing a secret resistance group to fight against the First Order, Poe joined in. Leia was grateful for Poe Dameron's help. Leia hoped that one day Poe might be worthy to become an inspiring leader of the Resistance.

As she thought about those things. Poe entered her office. As he entered her office, Leia told him "Shut the door." Poe nodded and closed the door behind him.

Poe approached the general and asked "You summoned me, general?"

Leia nodded and then told him why he summoned him "Yes. I have a mission for you, something so important that I need to keep this between us."

Poe was confused "I don't understand. What is it that you need me to do?"

Leia then gave him a small disc that has coordinates in it "I need you to go to th Jakku system immediately. Find a man named Lor San Tekka, the location of his whereabouts are on this disc."

Poe nodded as he took the disc, but wanted to know why he had to find Lor San Tekka "What is it that I need to find him for?"

"Lor San Tekka has a map that leads to my brother, Luke."

"Luke Skywalker?" Poe asked surprised.

Leia nodded, but then she spoke her worries to him "It's very important that you bring us that map, Poe. Ever since the Jedi he'd trained have all been killed by the First Order and him disappeared, our fight with the First Order has become… desperate. I can feel that sooner or later war will come with the First Order. And if that happens, I need to have my brother back. He is our only hope. We need the Jedi to come back."

Poe understood how dire the situation had become since the Jedi had been exterminated three years ago and that the First Order took advantage of the weakness of the Republic to take more territories of the galaxy unopposed. It frustrated Poe that the New Republic was to weak to do anything.

Determent he said to Leia "I will bring that map, general."

Leia nodded as she had faith in him "I know you do. May the Force be with you."

Poe left as soon as possible with his X-wing, accompanied by his droid BB-8. He beeped after boarding Poe's X-wing, asking his friend where they are going. As Poe was taking off he said "I'll explain it on the way, buddy. Prepare for lightspeed."

BB-8 beeped that he was ready.

Poe flew with his X-wing out of D'Quar's atmosphere and jumped into hyperspace, heading for the Jakku system.

There you go people, the first chapter of my Star Wars fanfic! I know that the dates of the destruction Luke's Jedi Academy are different, but these changes are needed for my story. Don't worry, all will be explained as the story progresses.

I hope you all liked how I portrayed the changing characteristics of Ben and Rey/Kylo Ren. The first chapter is a bit shorter then expected, but I hope you all liked the story so far.
