Chapter 2: Rising darkness and desertion

Over the planet of Jakku, its two moons shined over the night sky, showing at least some beauty over the desert planet.

But then, slowly, the Star Destroyer Finalizer entered Jakku's orbit. It's large size, blocking the moons light.

Then, out of its hanger, four transport ships flew out and headed down to the planet's surface. Inside these small Atmospheric Assault Landers, each carrying over twenty Stormtroopers, all were ready to kill those who would dare to stand in their way. Among then, was a Stormtrooper who was only known by his code name: FN-2187. The lander was shaking because of the turbulence felt from entering Jakku s atmosphere, making the lights going on and off.

FN-2187 was feeling nervous, for this was his very first mission. However, he somehow felt glad to be finally assigned for a combat mission. For years, FN-2187 had been doing mostly sanitation duties, despite scoring top marks as a cadet under Captain Phasma. But now, he finally had his chance to proof himself on the battlefield.

On the planet surface, the white-orange colored astromech droid BB-8 spotted the four assault landers in the night sky, heading towards him. BB-8 worriedly beeped and rolled as fast as he could back to the village to warn his friend, Poe Dameron that the First Order was coming.

Inside one of the huts, Poe had a secret meeting with Lor San Tekka. The two had a conversation for some time, till the old man finally gave Poe a holographic star map, that was inside a small bag.

"This will begin to make things right." Tekka said as he placed the map in Poe's hand. Tekka then sighed "I've traveled too far and seen too much to ignore the despair in the galaxy. Without the Jedi, there can be no balance in the force."

Poe gave him some encouragement "Well, because of you, now we have a chance. The General's been after this for a long time."

Tekka raised an eyebrow "Oh the General?" but then he formed a grin "To me, she is royalty."

Poe nodded in agreement that despite Leia Organa was now a General and leader of the Resistance, she was still and always will be, the Princess of Alderaan "Well, she certainly is that."

Just then, BB-8 stormed into the hut, beeping loudly to Poe of what he just saw.

Poe looked worriedly to Tekka "We got company." Both stood up and went out of the hut.

Poe took out his binoculars and looked into the distance, spotting four First Order Assault Landers closing in on the village. All the villagers started to hide their families and taking up arms, for what was coming to them.

"You have to hide." Poe said to Tekka.

"You have to leave." Tekka said back while looking in the distance. Poe glanced at Tekka, who seriously said to him "Go!"

Poe nodded and ran with BB-8 back to his X-Wing.

The armed villagers took cover from whatever was useful to hide from blaster fire from Stormtroopers, while loading their rifles and blasters.

The First Order Landers landed close to the village. As the main doors opened, the villagers started to open fire! Stormtroopers rushed out of the landers and fired back on the villagers! All the villagers fought desperately, being able to kill a few Stormtroopers. But these Stormtroopers were nothing like the Stormtroopers from the Empire. These new First Order Stormtroopers were trained far more ruthless and showed no mercy as they started killing the villagers, one by one.

Poe and BB-8 came to their X-Wing, while in the background the battle was fought hard "Come on, BB-8, hurry!" Poe called to his droid friend. Poe stepped inside as he started up his fighter. BB-8 had just got in as he saw in the back that the number of Stormtroopers was increasing. He beeped at Poe that they need to hurry.

A few Stormtroopers spotted Poe's X-Wing and called to stop it by firing on it "Blast that X-Wing! Over there! Over there!" The blaster shots had knocked out the engines, making it impossible for Poe and BB-8 to escape!

As all systems shut down, BB-8 beeped at Poe that there were two Stormtroopers behind them. Poe nodded as he activated an inside blaster from his X-Wing "I see them!" Poe shot with the blaster to the two Stormtroopers, killing them!

Poe rushed out of his X-Wing, with his smaller blaster in hand to check the damage on his X-Wing. As he saw how badly damanged the engines were, there was no way that he could repair it in time. Poe looked back at the village, where the Stormtroopers were overrunning the villagers and captured a lot of them, while putting all the huts on fire with their flamethrowers. Lor San Tekka watched with horror as the village he began to love was being destroyed before his very own eyes.

Poe didn't had a lot of time left. As BB-8 got out of the X-Wing, Poe took out the map from the small bag "You take this. It's safer with you than it is with me." BB-8 opened a case so he could keep the map safe. After Poe placed the map in BB-8's case he instructed him "You get as far away from here as you can. Do you hear me?"

BB-8 beeped worriedly to him "But what about you!?"

Poe ensured him "I'll come back for you. It will be alright. Now go!" Poe stood up and ran back to help the villagers. BB-8 looked back to his friend, one last time, before he finally rolled away fast.

Poe loaded his blaster as he took cover behind a dune. He took aim and had two Stormtroopers in sight. He shot and killed them both!

FN-2187 was in the middle of the battle, giving covering fire for his Stormtrooper comrades against some villagers. But then, Poe shot a Stormtrooper who fought beside him. He fall on the ground. FN-2187 saw the shot Stormtrooper and rushed unto him to help him. He shook him a bit, to let him know that it'll be alright. The Stormtrooper looked at FN-2187. He reached to him his bleeding hand. He touched FN-2187's helmet. But then fell dead, leaving the bloody marks on FN-2187's helmet.

For the first time in his life, FN-2187 saw real blood.

He breathed heavily as he stood up…. He felt afraid, as if something had just snapped in his conscience. Shots kept being fired and some explosions were heard around him. He started to panic. All the destruction, the killing… it became too much for him. He didn't know what to do anymore. He wanted to hide… to run. But as he heard another ship approaching, he remained close to his comrades.

Poe heard the ship too and looked up. He saw that it was a black First Order shuttle, ready to land at the village.

As the shuttle landed, all the Stormtroopers gathered the surviving villagers together at the center of the village "Keep moving." one said as he hit some with his blasters that they needed to keep moving.

FN-2187 walked together with his corporal, who ordered him to stand with the other stormtroopers to guard the villagers "Stay here."

FN-2187 nodded as he did as he was commanded to do.

Two other Stormtroopers took Lor San Tekka into custody. They stood before the villagers, close to the landing shuttle. FN-2187 looked back at the shuttle, to see who would be exiting it. He was astounded as he saw that it was the most feared women of the First Order: Kylo Ren.

FN-2187 had never seen Kylo Ren in real life before, but he'd heard many stories about her. That her power goes beyond anything anybody could possibly imagine. Even by just looking at her, sended chills into his very bones. It was not her black robes nor hooded cape that sended fear in FN-2187, it was her mask and her very presence that made him uncomfortable.

Lor San Tekka was brought before Kylo Ren. As she approached the old man, the Stormtroopers held their distance.

"Look how old you've become." Kylo Ren spoke with her low voice, because of her mask.

The old man had no fear for her. In fact, he felt pity for what happened to her "Something far worse has happened to you."

Kylo Ren shook her head as she said "Of all the planets in the galaxy… you choose this one to hide."

"I never hided himself… I'm just surprised that it took you so long to figure out where I was."

Kylo Ren became annoyed of the old man's comment, but then said with a very serious tone "You know what I've come for."

Still not showing any fear, Lor San Tekka fired back by saying "I know where you come from…. Before you called yourself, Kylo Ren."

That Lor San Tekka knew where she came from sended great anger in Kylo Ren. But she remained patient and said "The map to Skywalker. I know you found it. And now you're going to give it to the First Order."

Lor San Tekka reminded Kylo Ren about something "The First Order rose from the dark side. You did not."

Kylo Ren was getting impatient. But then she changed her tone and then asked him "If you think that I didn't rose from the dark side, then you are wrong, old man. I was destined to carry on my family's legacy."

This made Lor San Tekka a bit sad "You could have been so much more. You could have even become a greater person then what your grandfather ever was."

Kylo Ren then smirked behind her mask "You're so right." and within a second, Lor San Tekka was pierced by her two red lightsabers! As she pressed a button, the two lightsabers who were attached to each other, merging into a double-edged lightsaber, cutting Lor San Tekka in half by his midsection!

All villagers screamed in horror to see Lor San Tekka being executed so brutally.

Poe saw everything and fired on Kylo Ren, but she had already felt that Poe was going to shoot at her and instantly used the force to stop the blast. The blaster shot remained hanging in midair, but what's worse, Poe couldn't move. Poe tried everything to move again, but every muscle in his body wouldn't give in to his mind.

Two Stormtroopers rushed to Poe and took him into custody. One hit him hard in the stomach with his blaster, making Poe falling on his knees. As the two Stormtroopers dragged Poe with them, he looked at his fired blaster shot, still hanging in midair How is this even possible?' Poe mentally asked himself how this women can just freeze him and his blaster shot with her mental powers.

He was brought before Kylo Ren. The other Stormtrooper kicked him on his legs, making Poe drop on his knees. Poe looked at Kylo Ren. He was afraid, but felt also angry for how this witch could kill Lor San Tekka in cold blood. She crouches down to face him. She didn't say anything. So, Poe made a joke by saying "So, who talks first? You talk first? I talk first?"

Kylo Ren was not amused by his joke, but could sense that the old man had given this Resistance pilot the map "The old man gave it to you."

"It's just very hard to understand you with all the… apparatus." Poe said as it was hard to understand Kylo Ren with her mask on.

"Search him." Kylo Ren ordered the two Stormtroopers, who raised him and searched his pockets.

They couldn't find anything "Nothing, ma'am."

"Put him on board." Kylo Ren ordered the two Stormtroopers. She thought that some torture would surely make him talk.

As the two Stormtroopers dragged Poe on board of Kylo Ren's shuttle, a large female Stormtrooper in a silver shined armor, black cape and big blaster in hand approached Kylo Ren. This was Captain Phasma, one of the best commanders of the First Order. Though her tactics were brutal and unorthodox, she never failed any mission for the First Order, and her influence of training Stormtroopers to merciless killers booked great results, what made her rise to the rank of Captain quickly.

Phasma asked Kylo Ren what to do with the remaining villagers "Ma'am, the villagers."

Kylo Ren looked at the remaining villagers, who were all afraid of what would come next. Kylo Ren cold blooded ordered Captain Phasma "Kill them all."

All the Stormtroopers instantly aimed their blasters on the unarmed villagers, who were now more afraid then ever as this was their end.

"On my command." Phasma said to her troopers.

However, even though every Stormtrooper aimed their blasters on the villagers, FN-2187 hesitated. For this was not what he was fighting for. While his hands were shaking, he aimed anyway.

All the villagers pleaded for mercy.

"Fire!" Phasma ordered.

All the Stormtroopers fired mercilessly on the villagers! All of them cried and screamed as the Stormtroopers slaughtered them.

Poe was horrified of what they were doing to the villagers and pleaded to stop "No! Please, no!"

FN-2187 wanted to fire, as his captain commanded, but he was held back by something 'No… this isn't right. This isn't right….' his mind said to him. As the screams slowly died out, FN-2187 lowered his blaster. He had made his choice, he was not going to kill innocent people for the First Order.

While the Stormtroopers cleared the area, searching the village for anything useful, FN-2187 remained where he stood. His feet, frozen to the ground. He'd never disobeyed an order, but now… he felt that he wasn't the same person anymore after this traumatic experience.

Kylo Ren walked back to her shuttle, but she stopped as she could sense some disturbance in one of the Stormtroopers. She looked at FN-2187. She could sense conflict within him. The Stormtrooper began to look afraid, as he noticed Kylo Ren was staring at him and felt afraid of what she could do something to him. Kylo Ren thought it was strange of what she sensed in the Stormtrooper, but ignored it for now and continued walking back to her shuttle. She let go of her grip to the blaster fire that she stopped before and exploded on impact on one of the huts, making FN-2187 startled.

A few Stormtrooper were searched Poe's X-Wing. After seeing that there was nothing important inside, the corporal ordered to destroy the X-Wing "Nothing here. Go ahead!" The Stormtroopers kept firing on the X-Wing till it exploded.

The explosion was even seen from a far, from where BB-8 had made it to so far. He looked back at the explosion, coming from the village. He beeped sad, but he'd made a promise Poe to go as far away from the village as he could. As he rolled over the sands of the desert, BB-8 tried to figure out what to do next. The only thing he could hope for was to find a ship that could take him back to the Resistance headquarters, to bring this holographic star map back to General Organa that would lead to Luke Skywalker.

After a few hours, Kylo Ren's shuttle, along with the four assault landers arrived back in the hanger of the Star destroyer Finalizer.

As the final assault lander landed, Poe was handcuffed while being taken by the Stormtroopers "All right. All right!" Poe said very irritating as he was moving as he was told. One Stormtrooper took him to the interrogation room.

All the Stormtroopers that went on the mission felt proudly after completing their mission and talked how very easy this mission was. Only FN-2187 wasn't feeling the same as the others. He walked away from the other troopers and went inside one of the landers as all the emotions he was feeling became too much for him.

When he was sure he was alone, he took off his helmet and breathed heavily. He looked at his helmet, with the blood of his fellow Stormtrooper still on it. FN-2187 shook his head as he still saw his 'friend' dying on Jakku. All the innocent people that were killed in that village. His comrades, showing no remorse for their actions 'I can't do this anymore… I can't do this anymore…' was all that he could say in his mind.

But then, his thoughts were interrupted when he heard a strict voice coming from behind him "FN-2187." He looked back and was a bit shocked to see Captain Phasma behind him "Submit your blaster for inspection." Phasma ordered as she wasn't sure if FN-2187 did as he was ordered to do back in the village on Jakku.

Being very nervous, FN-2187 nodded "Yes, Captain."

"And who gave you permission to remove that helmet?" Phasma asked.

FN-2187 apologized "I'm sorry Captain-"

"Report to my division at once." she ordered him before leaving the lander.

FN-2187 felt afraid again, as he put back on his helmet. If First Order command figured out that he disobeyed orders by not firing on the villagers, then they are going to execute him. He tried to think hard of what to do 'What do I do?! What do I do?! …I… I gotta get out of here, far away from the First Order! But how…?'

Many hours later. Back on Jakku, at the Starship Graveyard…

Ben searched inside an old generator for some parts. He used his little flashlight to see if there were any parts inside that he could use to sell. Ben noticed a small device inside it. He reached out to it and pulled it out.

After he placed it in his bag, he jumped down, using a rob of sorts to slide down easily and then walked out of the old Star Destroyer.

When Ben made it outside, he felt thirsty as his mouth was so dry. He put down his quarterstaff and took a bottle of water out of his bag. He drank only a bit from it, as this was his last one. He mentally said to himself "I should go to Trina's moister farm and ask for some water. I'm sure she'll give me some…" After putting his bottle back in his bag, he took his quarterstaff and headed down to his speeder, using a slay of sorts to slide down the sandy hill.

Ben placed all his parts at a side bag of his speeder. He then climbed on to it, putting on his googles and drove away, heading towards Trina's moister farm.

Trina's farm was near a canyon, an hour away from the 'Starship Graveyard' with his speeder.

The 18 year old woman was checking for some malfunction of her self-made droid, over the shadow of her hut, till she saw Ben's speeder. The girl with short blond hair happily waved at him when she saw him. As Ben stopped with his speeder and stepped off, he waved back.

When he approached her, Trina greeted him friendly "Hi Ben!"

"Hey, Trina. How are you?"

She shrugged "Good, well… sometimes. It's a bit boring out here since daddy is gone."

Ben understood why she was feeling lonely out here. Since her father died a year ago, she was forced to live on her own. Both Trina and her father have always been kind to Ben ever since he arrived on Jakku. Ben helped them fixing parts or small droids, in exchange for some water.

Trina then asked Ben while holding her hands behind her back "So, what brings you here, Ben? Need of water again, I suppose?"

Ben nodded "Yeah. I was hoping to trade some water with you, or do some work to help you around."

Trina's smile grew as he mentioned to do some work for her "Well, you came at the right time. I have been trying to fix this droid I've been working on for months, but somehow I can't get it to work."

Ben smiled as he walked with her to her hut "Let me see what I can do."

As they entered, Trina showed him the droid. It was small one, built with other components. Ben checked the wirings inside as he asked "What do you want to built from this?"

"I was hoping to make it into a cleaning droid, so I could trade it for other components to improve harvesting more moister for more water." Trina explained

Ben scratched his head as he saw that it was going to be a bit difficult "Well, I can see now why you couldn't make this into a 'cleaning droid'. This old baby here was first a translator-droid, pre-clone war. And these arms you try to make on it, all belong to several different old droids."

"But… you can fix it, right?" Trina asked concerned.

Ben thought what he could do. He then said as he checked the inside again "Sure, I can make it to work. I just need… yes, I just need a small pulse-charger 440-8. I have one in the parts I collected. Wait here, I'll get it."

As Ben went outside, Trina smiled "Okay."

After Ben took the pulse-charger from his bag on his speeder, he started working on the self-made droid of Trina. It took him some hours to get it done, but after putting the wires on the pulse-charger and placed it inside the droid, Ben pressed a button to start it. After a few seconds it started to float and said "Hello. I am TC-678, at your service."

Trina clapped her hands of excitement and hugged Ben fiercely "It's working! Thank you, Ben!"

Ben was glad to help Trina around "No problem."

A little while later, Trina filled in five tanks of water for him and placed it on his speeder "There you go. This should be enough for more then a week, if you're careful with it anyway."

Ben ensured her as he put on his glasses "Don't worry, I always am."

However, there was something that Trina wanted to say to Ben. As he wanted to step on his speeder, Trina held his arm.

Wandering what was wrong, Ben asked "What is it?"

Feeling ashamed, Trina said "Ben… I…" she tried to find the right words for some time "I… wanted to apologize for what happened a few months back. When I… kissed you and… that it surprised you and didn't came back for some time. I'm sorry for that."

Ben remembered that moment, a few months back, when Trina all of the sudden kissed him after rescuing her farm from raiders. But when she kissed him, he had another flashback, showing him, kissing the same young women from his dreams and other flashbacks. When he got that flashback, it gave him a major headache and had trouble of hiding it from Trina, so he left quickly, leaving her behind, in shame.

Ben stroke her arm as tears formed in Trina's eyes "No, Trina, I should be the one to say sorry for running away when you did that. But listen, it's not that I don't like you… it's just… I…" Ben couldn't find the right words as Trina looked at him.

But somehow, she recognized that look on his face, like that there was already a women, waiting for him. She signed and said "It's okay, you don't need to say anything, Ben." she wiped away her tears and said softly "If you… ever change your mind, then… you know where to find me…" she then planted a kiss on his cheek and walked back to her hut.

Ben looked at her walking back to her small home. He felt pity for her being so alone, but he understood that she desires someone close to her. As he stepped onto his speeder, he thought about what Trina said. However, he felt that he should wait and be patient…

Ben started his speeder and headed for Niima outpost.

After several hours, the sun was starting to set on the horizon. Ben stood in line, once again, before Unkar Plott's shop to trade the parts he had found, for food. He was the last one in line.

Ben then saw the same female scavenger that he helped yesterday, with her son before Unkar Plott. Ben noticed that they had scavenged a lot of good parts. He figured that they must be from the crashed Y-Wings that he told her son about. The 'Blobfish' was surprised to see so many good parts and said "Well, these parts are worth…. Seven portions." Unkar placed the seven portions on the counter for her and took them one by one.

Both mother and son were very happy to have so many portions. The women saw Ben in the line, and said to him softly "Thank you…"

Ben gave her a nod while forming a smile.

After waiting for a half hour, it was finally Ben's turn. He put his scavenged parts on the counter. Unkar checked them for a minute and said "What you brought me today is worth… hmmm…. One quarter portion."

The 'Blobfish' placed the small quarter portion on the counter for Ben to take. Ben was disgusted that Unkar gave him so less, but figured that he didn't get much worth of food because he didn't had the pulse-charger 440-8 anymore, since he used it to fix Trina's self-made droid. He took the small portion and left with his net.

He arrived back at his 'home' after an hour driving on his speeder. After he prepared his food, he decided to eat his small portion outside.

While he eat, he saw a ship on the horizon, leaving the planet. Ben closed his eyes for a while, trying to figure what could be this 'force' that told him to stay on this planet. After a minute he mentally asked himself "Why do I have to stay here? There's nothing here for me…. If I want some answers of who I am, I need to get off this rock…"

Just then, Ben heard beeping of a droid nearby, calling for help. Ben stood up and looked where it came from. He also heard another voice, one that he could recognize but all too good. Ben rushed to where it came from and took his quarter staff with him.

He ran on a hill, seeing the coldblooded reptilian Teedo on his hybride mule/robot, holding a white-orange colored astromech droid in his net.

"Let him go!" Ben called to Teedo in his language.

Teedo looked at Ben, while the droid BB-8 looked at Ben too. Teedo called to Ben to mind his own business, but Ben rushed to him that he need to let that droid go. He took a knife of his belt and cut the net, freeing BB-8.

Teedo was furious at what Ben did "You damn, stranger! That droid was mine!" Teedo said in his reptilian language.

Ben pointed his knife to him "No! Now get lost!" he told back in Teedo's language.

Teedo didn't wanted to mess with Ben, so he drove angry away on his mule.

BB-8 insulted Teedo as he beeped "I hope you get killed in a sandstorm, you damn reptile!"

Ben hushed him and explained "That's just Teedo. Wants you for parts. He has no respect for anyone."

Ben then saw that the droid's antenna had bend. He crouched and said "Your antenna is bend. Let me help you." BB-8 held his head down, so Ben could fix his antenna. Ben did wander what an advanced astromech droid was doing on Jakku, all by himself "You're not from around here are you? Where do you come from?"

BB-8 answered as he beeped "Sorry, I can't tell. It's classified."

Ben raised an eyebrow as he placed the antenna back on BB-8's head "Classified?" but then he shrugged "All right. Suite yourself." Ben then saw the droid's serial number saying BB-8 "BB-8, huh?" the droid nodded "Please to meet you, BB-8." Then he pointed BB-8 what way he could take "Niima Outpost is that way. Stay off Kelvin Ridge. And keep away from the Sinking Fields in the north, or you'll drown in the sand."

As Ben was about to go back to his home, and leaving BB-8, the astromech droid beeped while following Ben "You're not gonna leave me behind now, are you?"

Ben turned back, looking at BB-8 "I'm not…" he sighed as he explained "Look, town is not that far. I'm sure that you'll be helped there."

Ben walked further, but BB-8 beeped back, asking "Can't I stay with you, just for one night?"

Ben stopped as he looked back at BB-8. The astromech droid tried to look a bit sad. Ben sighed "Alright…" BB-8 happily beeped as he followed Ben to his home. Ben then said "One night, but in the morning you go."

BB-8 understood and beeped to Ben saying "Thanks for saving me back there."

Ben chuckled "You're welcome."

Meanwhile, on the Star Destroyer Finalizer

In a holding cell, Poe Dameron was tied unto a torturing chair. He fell unconscious after being tortured none stop for hours by First Order officers, to reveal them what he did with the map that would lead to Luke Skywalker. But so far, none were successful in getting Poe to talk.

As Poe opened his eyes, he saw Kylo Ren standing before him "I had no idea we had the best pilot of the Resistance on board." the masked women said. As she approached him, she asked as a joke "Comfortable?"

Poe grunted as he answered "…Not really."

Kylo Ren held her hands behind her back as she leaned over to Poe "I'm not surprised, that none of my officers were successful of getting out of you… what you did with the map."

Poe smirked as he suggested "You might to rethink your technique."

Kylo Ren was not amused and reached out her right hand to Poe's head. Poe felt something that tried to get into his head. It felt like being stroked on the head, but slowly it hurted him more.

With the Force, Kylo Ren pushed Poe's head hard back against the torturing chair. He felt a painful force, entering his mind. He breathed heavily, as he tried to fight it, but he couldn't.

"Where is it?" Kylo Ren asked.

Poe kept trying to resist this force into his head as it became more painful. He fiercely looked at Kylo Ren "The Resistance… will not be intimidated by you."

Kylo Ren slowly pulled Poe's head closer, as she was about to enter his deepest thoughts "Where… is it?" she asked again, now with more anger.

The pain became nearly to much for Poe to bare. He shook his head as he didn't want to answer. This made Kylo Ren more angry. She then used more power to see into the deepest core of his memories. Poe felt his brains were on fire and screamed "AAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!"

After fifteen minutes, Kylo Ren walked out of the holding cell, leaving an unconscious Poe Dameron in his torturing chair. General Hux had been waiting for some results from Kylo Ren. She glanced at the General and told what she had found in Poe Dameron's mind "The map is in a droid. A BB unit."

Hux gave a small smile as they had finally booked some results "Well, then, if it's on Jakku, we'll soon have it."

Hux's arrogance sickened Kylo Ren, as if he had already fulfilled what Supreme Leader Snoke wanted. She despised Hux and felt that he or his men will screw things up on that desert planet. She said with a very serious tone "Make sure that your men will bring that droid in one piece, General. If it's destroyed, the map will be as well." Kylo Ren then walked away, leaving a very nervous General Hux behind.

Though he hated that witch Kylo Ren, she did had a point. If the droid is destroyed, the map will be gone as well. The last thing that Hux wanted was to be punished severely by Supreme Leader Snoke for this 'failure'. He walked away as he took out a comm link from his pocket, informing his men not to destroy the droid.

Kylo Ren entered an elevator, alone. She pressed a button, taking her to the lowest level of the Star Destroyer. It was a floor that was only accessible to her and a select few that she could trust, as it was her own training grounds, when she was not training at her master's gigantic ship 'Supremacy'.

As she exited the elevator, a few officers saluted her. Kylo Ren walked passed them and entered another big room, where a Muun scientist was working on a new holodroid for Kylo Ren. The scientist stopped working and greeted his master "Master Kylo Ren… I…"

"Is the droid finished?" Kylo Ren asked impatiently.

The scientist nodded widely "Yes! Yes! I've modified it to your wishes. It has now all the fighting skills of every Sith and Jedi throughout the ages. However, I… didn't had the time yet to test it-"

"Then I'm testing it, now!" Kylo Ren said fiercely, startling the scientist.

He nervously nodded "A-A-As you wish…"

A few minutes later, Kylo Ren entered the big training room with her two attached lightsabers at hand. She had taken off her cape, but kept her mask on.

On the other side was the modified holodroid, waiting for instructions.

Through a speaker, the Muun scientist asked "What level of training do you prefer?"

With only keeping her eyes on the droid, Kylo Ren answered "The most difficult level you have."

"As you wish, master."

The surroundings changed. Like Kylo Ren and the droid were in the old Imperial Throne Room on Coruscant. The droid then started to form, thanks to his holographic programing, into the most difficult force user the scientist could think of to defeat. Darth Sidious.

As the droid had taken the full form of Darth Sidious, it formed a wide evil smirk to Kylo Ren as it evilly chuckled and ignited two red lightsabers in each hand.

Kylo Ren stared at the former emperor for a few seconds "Grandfather…" she mentally said to herself, as she ignited her two attached red lightsabers and pressed a button and merged the two light sabers into a double-edged red lightsaber, both ignited at each side.

She charged on the holographic version of Darth Sidious and hit it with numerous strikes from her double edged lightsaber, but each time, the droid managed to block all her attacks! As it dealt to her numerous, uncontrolled strikes with it's two lightsabers, Kylo Ren was able to block them! Then the droid fired at her a huge Force Lightning, what she was able to stop with her hand and lightsaber!

Kylo Ren had difficult to hold the lighting back, even though it was not real Force Lightning. The fake Sidious-droid evilly laughed as it was about to kill its enemy. But then, Kylo Ren's fury was greater then before. In an out of angry burst, she deflected the lighting back at the droid and unleashed her own powerful force lightning on it "AAAAAAAAAARGH!"

The droid could not stop it and was overwhelmed by the enormous power! Her lightning surrounded the droid, making it if she killed the emperor. The holographic image of Darth Sidious disappeared, as the droid fell on the floor, shutting itself down after being overwhelmed by such force.

The surrounding changed back as Kylo Ren retracted her two sabers and attached it back to her belt. She was only a bit pleased with the scientist work and said as she walked out of the training room "Impressive. But next time, I want the droid to be able to take a bit of lightning, doctor."

The scientist nervously answered through the speaker "Ye-ye-yes, master."

At that moment, in Poe's holding cell, the Resistance pilot was slowly gaining back consciousness. He saw that one Stormtrooper was inside with him, guarding him. Poe tried to figure out what he could do to escape, but being attached to this torture chair, it would make it very difficult. He had lost all hope, as he didn't knew that the Resistance will ever come to rescue him. This was it, this was the end for him.

But then, another Stormtrooper opened the cell and entered it. It was FN-2187. He said to the other Stormtrooper "Ren wants the prisoner."

The other Stormtrooper nodded and released Poe. As he put the handcuffs on him, the Stormtrooper asked FN-2187 "Shall I join you?"

FN-2187 shook his head "No. I'll take the prisoner myself."

Though the other Stormtrooper thought it was a bit strange, he just shrugged "Alright. Suit yourself."

FN-2187 took Finn out of the cell and took him into one hallway to another.

Poe wandered what Kylo Ren wanted now. But just as they entered into different hallway, FN-2187 told Poe to turn somewhere else "Turn here." Poe did as he asked, but find it strange to be taken to a small narrow way. As FN-2187 entered it too, he said to Poe "Listen carefully, if you do exactly as I say, I can get you out of here."

"What?" Poe asked confused.

FN-2187 took of his helmet "This is a rescue. I'm helping you escape. Can you fly a TIE-fighter?"

Poe's hope of getting rescued was all of the sudden restored "You're with the Resistance?"

"What? No, no, no. I'm breaking you out. Can you fly a TIE-fighter?"

"I can fly anything." Poe answered, as he was the best pilot in the Resistance. FN-2187 felt so relieved that Poe could fly a TIE-fighter to get them out of here. However, Poe was still confused of why this Stormtrooper wanted to help him "Why? Why are you helping me?"

FN-2187 sighed and answered "Because it's the right thing to do."

However, Poe could see on the look on this Stormtrooper's face that he wanted to get away from the First Order "You need a pilot."

FN-2187 admitted that that was also the reason he helped Poe "I need a pilot."

Poe smiled as he was willing to help this Stormtrooper, since he was helping breaking him out "We're gonna do this."

"Yeah?"

A little while later, FN-2187 walked into the hanger with Poe, holding him by his collar and blaster pointed at his back. Poe pretended that he was still handcuffed, making it look like FN-2187 was escorting the prisoner somewhere else. The other Stormtroopers and officers didn't seem to notice anything suspicious.

FN-2187 became very nervous and said to himself "Okay. Stay calm. Stay calm."

"I am calm." Poe ensured him.

"I'm talking to myself." FN-2187 corrected him.

As they approached some TIE-fighters, Poe checked his back if they could go in "Not yet." FN-2187 said. As the coast was clear, FN-2187 said "Okay, go. This way." and both ran to a nearby TIE-fighter and boarded it.

Poe went to the controls to fly the TIE-fighter, while FN-2187 went to the controls at the back. Poe was somehow exited to finally fly a TIE-fighter "I always wanted to fly one of these things. Can you shoot?" he asked the Stormtrooper.

FN-2187 shook his head "Blasters, I can."

Poe nodded that that was fine "Okay, same principle. Use the toggle on the left to switch between missiles, cannons and mag pulse. Use the sight on the right to aim. Triggers to fire."

FN-2187 looked as controlling these controls on a TIE-fighter were more complicated then handling a blaster "This is very complicated."

Poe activated his controls and attempted to fly away with the TIE-fighter. But the fighter was still stuck to a cable! "I can fix this!" Poe said

This got everyone's attention in the hanger now. At the main controls of the hanger, one said "Sir, we have an unsanctioned departure from bay two."

The officer in charge of the hanger ordered his men "Alert General Hux. And stop that fighter."

Every Stormtrooper started to fire on Poe and FN-2187's fighter, preventing them to escape!

FN-2187 tried to do something quick. He took his controls and started shooting at the Stormtroopers, killing many of them. He shot then on some TIE-fighters and then at the main hanger control, destroying and killing everyone inside!

Poe then found the switch to release the cable "I got it." He pressed it and their TIE-fighter flew out with amazing speed out of the hanger, surprising Poe of how fast these TIE-fighters can fly "Whoa! This thing really moves."

They flew under the Star Destroyer, where the cannons tried to shoot them down! Poe saw them and instructed FN-2187 what to do "Alright, we gotta take out as many of these cannons as we can or we're not gonna get very far."

FN-2187 nodded "Okay."

"I'm gonna get us in position. Just stay sharp."

As Poe flew them into position, with the cannons still firing, FN-2187 tried hard to get to know the controls "Up ahead!" Poe said "Up ahead! You see it? I got us dead center. It's a clean shot."

FN-2187 nodded heavily "Okay, got it." FN-2187 fired as much blasters on the two cannons in front of them, till they were destroyed, making the deserted Stormtrooper exited "Yeah! Did you see that!? Did you see that?"

Poe laughed "I saw it!"

Now they could, fly away far enough from the remaining cannon fire.

Poe asked what the deserted Stormtrooper's name was "Hey, what's your name?"

"FN-2187."

"F… What?" Poe asked confused of why his name was a number with two letters.

"That's the only name they every gave me."

"Well I ain't using it. F-N, huh?" Poe asked as he figured of a name for the deserted Stormtrooper. Then he got one for him "Finn. I'm gonna call you Finn. Is that all right?"

FN-2187 thought about that new name for him for a few seconds, and he liked that "Finn. Yeah. Finn, I like that. I like that."

"I'm Poe. Poe Dameron."

"Good to meet you, Poe."

"Good to meet you too, Finn."

FN-2187, now called Finn, smiled as he had now a different name that he liked. Finn, that was now a name that would be his forever, as he was no longer part of the First Order.

At the bridge of the Finalizer an officer informed General Hux that their turbolasers have been taken out "Sir, they've take out our turbolasers."

General Hux then ordered another officer "Use the ventral cannons."

The officer nodded "Yes, sir. Bringing them online."

Just then, Kylo Ren entered the bridge, as she was informed in her quarters of the situation "General Hux, is it the Resistance pilot?"

"Yes and he had help from one of our own." he looked to some different controls as he continued "We're checking the registers now to identify which Stormtrooper it was."

Kylo Ren used her senses, and then remembered which one it was "The one from the village. FN-2187." She thought about the moment at the village, of when she sensed conflict inside the Stormtrooper. Kylo Ren should have realized that the Stormtrooper would do something out of despair, but helping Poe Dameron to escape, was something she didn't see coming. It irritated Kylo Ren that she didn't do anything about him back in the village on Jakku.

The other officer informed General Hux that the ventral cannons were now online "Sir, ventral cannons hot."

Hux nodded "Fire."

Under the Star Destroyer, two ventral cannons took aim at Poe and Finn's TIE-fighter and fired four guiding missiles at them. Poe tried to avoid the missiles while telling Finn to shoot the missiles "One coming toward you! My right. Your left. Do you see it?"

Finn saw the missiles "Hold on. I see him!" Finn shoot at the two missiles that came towards them, and managed to shoot one missile.

"Nice shot!" Poe said to Finn.

However, when Finn stood ready to shoot the other missiles down, he noticed that they weren't leaving the system, but going back to Jakku "Where are we going?"

"We're going back to Jakku. That's where."

Finn immediately protested against this "No, we can't go back to Jakku! We need to get out of this system."

But then Poe told Finn the reason that they are going back to Jakku "I gotta get my droid before the First Order does."

"What, a droid?"

"That's right. He's a BB unit, orange and white. One of a kind."

Both now started to argue about all of this "I don't care what color he is! No droid can be that important!"

"This one is, pal!" Poe fired back.

"We gotta get as far away from the First Order as we can! We go back to Jakku, we die!"

Poe sighed loud as he then told why they were going back "That droid has a map that leads straight to Luke Skywalker."

Finn became so annoyed that he didn't notice that one missile was about to hit their TIE-fighter "Oh, you gotta be kidding me-"

Before Finn could finish his sentence, the missile hit their fighter! They weren't destroyed, but disabled and were about to crash down on Jakku! Poe tried all he could to restore power, but was unable! Then all of the sudden, a shoot opened from up the fighter, sending Finn away, but Poe was still inside the crashing TIE-fighter!

Back at the bridge of the Finalizer

Captain Phasma briefed General Hux of FN-2187 (now Finn), confirming Kylo Ren's suspicion "FN-2187 reported to my division, was evaluated and sent to reconditioning."

Without looking at the Captain, the General looked at FN-2187's file on a screen and asked "No prior signs of nonconformity?"

"This was his first offense."

Hux couldn't understand how this could have happened. The First Order Stormtroopers were one of the best trained troopers in the galaxy. If FN-2187 was only the first one to desert, who knows which other Stormtroopers or officers would follow?

A female officer informed Hux about the TIE-fighter that was shot down "General! They've been hit."

Hux walked over to the officer and asked "Destroyed?"

"Disabled. They were headed back to Jakku. The fighter is projected to crash in to Goazon badlands."

Hux immediately understood why they were heading back to Jakku "They were going back to the droid. Send a squad to the wreckage." he ordered another officer. He nodded and did what General Hux told him to do.

An hour later, on Jakku, at the Goazon badlands…

Finn woke up after the sudden shock. He was still tied up with his safety-belt on the same chair he was on back in the TIE-fighter. He must have ejected when they were about to crash. Finn took the safety-belt off and stood up, looking at his surrounding as he heavily breathed.

This was not what he had planned to happen. But he was now more worried for his new friend, Poe Dameron. Finn looked around but couldn't see the TIE-fighter anywhere, all what he saw was endless fields of desert sand.

But then, as he looked at another direction, he saw smoke, coming from the distance. Finn's fear became worse. Was Poe dead? He ran to the burning wreckage.

Finn made it to the crashed TIE-fighter after a few minutes. He ran fastly towards it, calling for his friend "Poe! Poe!"

As Finn came closer, he heard couching coming out of the cockpit. It was Poe! He was alive!

Finn ran to the cockpit, seeing a arm reaching out to the open "Poe! I got you!" Finn said as he dragged Poe out of the wreckage. Poe was couching heavily cause of the smoke "Poe? Are you okay? Can you walk?" Finn asked as he held Poe's arm over his shoulder.

Poe nodded after standing back on his feet and couched one more time "Yeah… yeah, I'm okay-"

But then, they felt rumble below their feet. Both looked down, and it almost looked like they were dragged back to the sands. Poe's eyes went wide "Back! Get back!" he said as he dragged Finn away from the TIE-fighter.

The fighter was being dragged down to the sands, till it was completely gone. Poe tapped on Finn's shoulder "Thanks, Finn. You saved my life, again."

"Don't mention it-"

All of the sudden, the TIE-fighter exploded under the sands, making both man startled!

Finn sighed deep, feeling that this was all his fault. If he'd paid better attention, then they wouldn't have been shot down and crashed "I'm sorry, Poe. This is all my fault."

Poe shook his head "Don't blame yourself, Finn. I… I should have told you before that I wanted to go back to Jakku." Poe then looked to a direction, which was south and said "I saw an outpost or something before I crashed, down south. It's our best shot."

Finn looked at the south and shrugged as they didn't had any options "Then let's go…"

Along the long walk over the desert, Finn had taken off his Stormtrooper armor, and now only wear his black body clove.

To distract themselves, Finn asked Poe "So… a map… to Luke Skywalker?"

Poe nodded "That's right."

Finn shook his head that Poe meant THE Luke Skywalker "But… I thought he was just a myth?"

"No, he really does exist. He's… the General's brother."

This surprised Finn "The General? You mean, General Organa, the leader of the Resistance, is related to… Luke Skywalker!?"

Poe nodded "That's right."

After hours of walking and walking, both men were exhausted of not having any water in this hot burning desert.

Poe let Finn borrowing his jacket, so that Finn could use it to have at least a bit of cover from the burning sun, what Finn appreciated.

As they were near to give up, Poe stopped and pointed "Finn… we made it…"

Finn looked, and saw the outpost that Poe mentioned to have seen before they crashed. Both ran down the hill, heading towards Niima outpost…

There you go, fellas! The second chapter of my Star Wars story is finished!

To explain the training that Kylo Ren did below the Finalizer, the Muun scientist, is the same spieces that controlled the Banking Clan during the Clone Wars, and the holodroid is the same like the droid, PROXY from the game 'Star Wars; The Force Unleashed'. The idea of Rey being the granddaughter of Palpatine was something I wanted to keep in my story. So, I hope you guys liked that extra part I put in, especially where Rey/Kylo Ren already knows she's the granddaughter of Emperor Palpatine, and trains hard to become even more powerful than he ever was.

The next chapter is going to have Finn and Poe finding back BB-8 and meeting Ben. And then they will escape Jakku together on board 'the Millennium Falcon'.
