Chapter 4: First steps

As the Millennium Falcon flew through light speed, suddenly several alarms sounded as there were problems in nearly every electrical circuit of the ship "What's going on?!" Poe asked worried.

Han pointed to where the sparks were showing just above Ben "Electrical overload!"

Without hesitation, Ben stood on his chair to take a look at it "I can fix that!"

Han smiled for a moment as his son was always good at fixing things, but his smile faded when he saw another problem on one of the small monitors "The coolant's leaking!"

Ben knew what his father should do and said "Try transferring auxiliary power to the secondary tank!"

Han nodded "Secondary tank, I got it!"

"Hey! Can I help?" Poe asked as he nearly raised himself from his chair, but was stopped by Han who grabbed him by the arm.

"No! You don't touch anything!" Han said angrily, but that was when they all heard Chewbacca howling in pain in the back of the Falcon, making Han to tell Poe as he let go of his arm "On second thought, go and see if you can help Chewie." Poe nodded and left the cockpit.

When Poe entered the lounge, he saw that Kala was struggling to keep Chewbacca on the couch, while Finn wraps a bandage on the Wookiee shoulder "Chewie, come on!"

"I know it hurts, but you're only making it worse if you keep moving!" Kala said, trying to calm him down, but Chewie just roared in pain and anger as he pushed Finn off of him, scaring BB-8.

Poe rushed in to help Kala "Just hold still!"

They then heard Han calling from the cockpit "You hurt Chewie, you're gonna deal with me!"

Finn raised himself while calling back "Hurt him? This hairy thing almost killed me six times!"

"GGGRAAAAAAOW!" Chewie growled angry at Finn for calling him a hairy thing, but Kala held him.

"Please, Chewie! We try to help you" Kala said.

The female Togruta knew that they won't be able to help Chewbacca if he kept struggling. She sighed deep, knowing that she had no other choice. She looked at Poe and Finn, instructing them "Get more bandages, I'll hold him." Poe nodded and searched for some more bandages together with Finn. Kala then glanced at Chewie telling him "Chewie. Chewie, look at me! Look at me!" Chewie looked at his Togruta friend with anger and pain. Kala then moved her hand slowly over Chewie's head, telling softly "Relax…"

Chewbacca felt some calmness through his head and calmly lied down.

Kala formed a small smile while finishing with the bandages that Poe and Finn gave to her. Both men looked surprised that Chewbacca was now calm all of the sudden "Hey, what did you just do?" Finn asked Kala.

She glanced at Finn and stated while she shrugged "I… just calmed him down."

Finn and Poe glanced at each other confused for a moment, but then returned on nurturing the Wookiee.

Back in the cockpit, Han was starting to lose control as more alarms went off "If this hyperdrive blows there's gonna be pieces of us in three different systems!" just then, Ben pulled something out of the systems, making all the alarms stop, surprising Han. As Ben sat back at the co-pilot seat, Han asked his son confused "What'd you do?"

Ben showed a compressor while giving a satisfying smile "I bypassed the compressor."

Just then, Ben was having another flashback.

He saw himself being 3 or 4 years old, showing his father that he had fixed a complete broken Protocol Droid, surprising Han.

"What did you do?" he asked his son.

Little Ben smiled proudly "I fixed Threepio!"

The Protocol droid named C-3PO raised himself while thanking little Ben "Thank you, Master Ben! I thought I was done for!"

When the flashback ended, Ben felt a sting in his head "Arrgh!"

Han was surprised and asked concerned "Hey, you okay, son?"

Ben looked at his father, giving him a nod "Yeah… I'm alright." Ben left the cockpit, with Han behind him, still confused of what had caused his son to be like this.

Han went to check on Chewie, who sat straight on the bed, now his arm and shoulder bandaged. Han kneels at Chewie and checks his friend's wound. Chewie moaned that he screwed up back at the freighter, but Han shook his head "Nah, don't say that, you did great. Just rest." Han then patted Kala's shoulder "Nice job, Kala." Kala gave a nod and checked again on Chewie.

The Wookiee then asked her softly "Graw? Gruaw graw gruw graw?"

Kala nodded "Yeah. Sorry, it was the only way to get you calm."

Then Chewie said to his Togruta friend "Gruaw graw grrr graaaauw."

Kala wasn't feeling he should tell Han of who she really is, but ensured her Wookiee friend "I know I should tell Han… but not now." Kala then helped him to lay down on the bed.

Han had not heard what Kala and Chewie were talking about and awkwardly thanked Poe and Finn, who sat at a table what had a chess set on it, for helping Chewbacca "Good job, both of you. And… thanks."

Poe nodded while Finn said "You're welcome." but accidentally hit a button on the chess set, making pieces appear.

Finn turned it off the chess board off as Han asked the two men when Ben joined them "So, you guys are with the Resistance, huh?"

Both nodded while Ben stated "The First Order wants the map, that's why we are on the run."

Han nodded as he looks to BB-8 "Let's see watcha got."

BB-8 glanced at Poe for a moment, who nodded to his droid "It's okay, go ahead."

BB-8 rolls to the middle of the louche, projecting a holographic map, showing may planets, stars, systems and line showing some route, filling the room. Han moves through the holographic map, coming to one conclusion after seeing this map "This map's not complete. It's just a piece. Ever since Luke disappeared, people have been looking for him."

That made Ben curious and asked his father "Why'd he leave?".

Han glanced back at Ben, asking "I was hoping you would tell me?" But seeing that Ben didn't understand that, Han remembered himself of his son's condition "Amnesia. Right." he then starts explaining, hoping it would also help remember Ben "Luke was training a new generation of Jedi. But then, three years ago… something terrible happened. One of his students, a girl, turned against him and destroyed everything. Luke felt responsible… he just… walked away from everything."

"Do you know what happened to him?" Finn asked Han.

The old smuggler stated "There're a lot of rumors. Stories. The people who knew him the best… think he went looking for the first Jedi Temple." but then he sighed deep after thinking back, three years ago "When I heard about the massacre… I feared the worst… that you were killed as well, Ben. But no… your mother always believed you were alive. Guess she was right." Han finished while glancing back at his son.

Ben started to get more confused, while Finn looked surprised at Ben. Poe however already knew what Ben was ever since Han revealed that Ben was his missing son.

"What are you talking about?!" Ben asked his father with a serious look.

Han sighed as he stated "You were one of his apprentices, Ben. The very first." This revelation made Ben even more surprised, same as Poe and Finn who glanced to each other. Ben shook his head as it couldn't be true, but his father nodded "Yes, Ben. You… are a Jedi."

This revelation was too much for Ben to handle. He had spent years figuring out who and what he was, but being a Jedi? That was the last thing he'd expected. Ben shook his head in denial "No. No, I… I can't be a Jedi! How… how is that even-"

Han tried to calm his son "I know it's a lot to take in, Ben. Trust me, I used to think too that all this mumbo-jumbo magical power that holds together good, evil, the dark side and the light was all crazy stories. But it's true…. The Force, the Jedi, all of it. It's all true."

Ben starts to sit down, not knowing what to say.

That was when alarm rings went on the control station. While Han prompted to toggle some switches, BB-8 cuts off the hologram while Chewie rises and moans to Han. The old smuggler however told his Wookiee friend "No, you rest."

Though Ben and Finn were still surprised that Ben was a Jedi, they still wandered where Han was taking them to. So Poe asked "Where are we going, if I may ask?"

Han honestly answered "We're gonna see an old friend of mine. She'll help you and Finn to get back to your base with your droid. Hopefully she can help Han too." he glanced at Han for a moment before turning back to presses some more switches "'Cause… amnesia…. That's beyond my skills."

While everyone went over to the cockpit, Kala stayed with Chewie.

The Millennium Falcon dropped out of lightspeed, revealing that they were approaching the beautiful green planet, Takodana.

As Han piloted the Falcon and flew into the atmosphere, they slowly descended down to the planet, approaching a castle in the distance. Han looked through the windshield, slowly remembering something.

When the Falcon landed, a short memory flash appeared before Ben, seeing himself being 5 year old, visiting with his father his old friend, Maz Kanata.

When the memory flash ended, Ben blinked a few times as he steps off the Falcon, looking over the lake to Maz Kanata's castle.

Inside the Falcon, Han opens a storage unit. While retrieving some old blasters, Finn walks up behind him and tells "Hey, Solo – I'm not sure what we're walking into here-"

"Did you just called me 'Solo'?" Han asks while glancing at Finn.

Finn apologized "Sorry. Han. Mr. Solo. You should know, me and Poe are a big deal in the Resistance. Which puts a real target on our backs. Are there any conspirators here? First Order sympathizers?"

After Han took out the last blaster from the storage unit, he glances back at Finn and tells "Listen big deal, if you got a target on your back," he hands him over a blaster "fight your way out of it."

While Han walks off, Finn was wracked with guilt and fear. He was more afraid of falling back into the hands of the First Order, but worse, he was afraid to put his new friends in danger.

While Ben still looks out over the lake to Maz Kanata's castle, Poe walks over to him and asks while standing next to him "So? You really don't remember anything at all?"

Ben shook his head "Nothing… well, a few… small things, like… that Han Solo IS really my father. But me, being a Jedi?" he finishes while rubbing his forehead.

Poe still wandered what happened back when they escaped the large freighter from the two gangs, so he asked "Ben, what happened to you back at the freighter? You suddenly fell on floor and reacted like your head was about to explode."

Ben looked at Poe for a moment, before glancing back at the lake, stating "Back at Jakku, I… sometimes have these… flashbacks. Most of them don't make any sense, but… a few of them do… a bit."

"Then why hadn't you left Jakku before?"

Ben shrugged "I don't know. I have no idea what made me to stay on Jakku. It was like… something was telling me to stay… and wait."

"The Force?"

Ben rolled his eyes as he looked at Poe very serious "I am not a Jedi, Poe!"

Seeing that Ben might need some time to let it all sink in, he patted on his shoulder before going back to the Falcon.

A little while later, Han escorted everyone to the castle, while Chewie, who was feeling better, stayed behind to check on the Falcon. Along the way, Han handed Ben over a small blaster "Here, take this. You gotta need it." Ben was about to take the blaster, but then Han asked to be sure "You still remember to use one of these, right?"

Ben formed a small smirk while taking the blaster "Yes, dad, I still remember how to use it. Just put the safety off, aim and then fire."

But then Han paused for a moment, making everyone stop and said while pointing his finger to his son "…you just called me dad."

"Yeah. Why?"

A smile grew on Han's face "So you DO remember?"

Ben shrugged "Yeah… well… some, at least."

Han understood as he nod "Okay, it's a start." however, deep down, Han was relieved that his son did remember him and deeply hoped that Maz could help Ben with his amnesia.

As they neared the castle, Finn asked Han "Solo, why are we here again?"

"To get your droid on a clean ship." Han answered.

"Clean?" Poe asked confused.

Kala answered for them "Do you guys think it was luck that we found the Falcon? If we can find it on our scanners, the First Order's not far behind. You want to get yourselves and BB-8 to the Resistance? Maz Kanata can arrange that."

Han simply nodded, confirming what Kala explained to Finn and Poe. But also added "And hopefully help Ben, too."

When they entered the castle grounds, Finn felt a bit unsure about this 'Maz Kanata' "We can trust her, right?"

Han chuckled as he stated "Relax, kid. She's run this watering hole for a thousand years. Maz is a bit of an acquired taste, so let me do the talking," then he paused before the front door and glanced at the others "and whatever you do, don't stare…"

"At what?" Poe and Finn asked simultaneously.

"Any of it." Han answered as the door opens.

When they walked inside, all saw dozens of different aliens and humans, either drinking, gambling, making fun, scheme, negotiate, argue or just listening to the band's music.

At the bar, a tiny, thousand year-old, four feet tall alien with large adjustable goggles was just putting a serving plate with empty glasses at the bar. This is Maz Kanata.

But suddenly, Maz senses something. She turns herself and calls to the ones entering her castle "Han Solo!"

Everyone inside turn to look, all quiet, staring at Han Solo and his 'associates'.

Embarrassed, Han tried to look normal "Oh boy." he said under his breath but then friendly waved to his old friend "Hey, Maz!"

Everyone then went back to their business, while Maz walks up to Han while pushing someone away. But as she approached him, she was surprised to see Ben, who she hadn't seen in years "Ben? Little Ben?"

Ben was confused at first, but somehow could… remember that he'd met her before.

"Where have you been all this while?" Maz asked him.

Han answered for him "It's a long story, Maz."

Sensing that there was something off about Ben, Maz scratched her chin while glancing at Ben. But then looked at Kala and asked "And you are?"

"I'm Kala. I've been working for Han Solo for some years."

However, Maz could sense that this Togruta women was caring a secret, hidden it well. But then asked, hoping to see someone with them that she hoped to see again "Where's my boyfriend?" she asked.

"Chewie's working on the Falcon." Han answered.

"I like that Wookiee," Maz said before sensing that Han and his friends need help "I assume you need something. Desperately. And some… other help, with your son." Han nodded. Maz then said "Let's get to it."

Maz walks off, gesturing Han, Kala, Ben, Finn, BB-8 and Poe to follow her.

While following Maz, a few were looking suspiciously at BB-8, rolling passed by them. An alien women excused herself for a moment, telling that she needed to make a call. The large alien just grunted while she went to the back.

However, among the guests, was a small droid who recognized BB-8 instantly. The droid takes out its communicator and makes a transmitting sound "Alert the Resistance. Their missing droid is here!"

The alien women, who walked to the back to a shadowy space, stealthily makes a call on her on communicator while smirking evilly "Inform the First Order… I've found the droid."

Meanwhile, on the Star Destroyer Finalizer, in Kylo Ren's chambers…

Kylo Ren, not wearing her mask, was meditating in the middle of her room. In front of her lied a dark relic that once belonging to a powerful Sith.

The young women was somehow addressing to someone who was not present in the room, but tried to communicate with him.

"Grandfather… forgive me." Kylo Ren spoke with her eyes still shut, trying to talk to her grandfather, Darth Sidious "I feel it again. The pull to the light. My master Snoke senses it."

Focusing hard on the dark side, she begged her grandfather's spirit for guidance "Show me… the true power of the dark side… and I will finish… what you started."

She started to feel a cold sense flowing through her body. She could hear this presence whispering to her, telling her that in order to gain the power she needs, required something… to die.

The last words were then heard clearly in her head, saying "Let the past die… kill it… if you must…"

Slowly, Kylo Ren opened her eyes and nodded her head "Yes… grandfather." She stared down at the relic, which was a lightsaber, made from aurodium and electrum, giving it a golden shining look. This was the lightsaber that once belonged to Darth Sidious.

Then suddenly, Kylo Ren's commlink beeped. She puts her mask back on and then used the force to pull the commlink to her, sending it flying and caught it in her hand, activating it, revealing a female First Order officer "What is it?" Kylo Ren asked fierce with the low voice of her mask, as she didn't liked to be disturbed during her meditation.

The female officer apologized while explaining "Forgive me for the interruption, Lady Ren, but we have received word of the location of the droid. It's on Takodana, in a castle belonging to someone named… Maz Kanata."

Kylo Ren formed a small smile under her mask and instructed "Very well, officer. Send a squad immediately, and prepare my shuttle."

The officer nodded before braking contact "Yes, ma'am!"

A little while later, back at Maz Kanata's castle…

Maz sat at the table together with Han, Ben, Poe, Finn and Kala. Han, Poe and BB-8 had been telling Maz quietly what had happened and why they've come to see her, while also telling about Ben's amnesia.

Maz was fascinated by this tale, but also surprised to hear about Ben's condition "Stuck on Jakku for three years, having no memories at all? And a map to Skywalker himself?" while Han nodded, Maz laughed "You're right back in the mess."

That was when Han asked her politely "Maz, we hoped that… you could help my son."

Maz scratched her chin for a moment, but then gave a nod "Hmmm. I suppose I could try."

"How can she do that?" Poe asked, wandering how Maz could help his new friend.

Maz answered while walking over to Ben "I too know the force, but I am no Jedi." then she glanced at Ben, instructing him while she held her right hand to Ben's head "Now, empty your mind, Ben."

Ben nodded, trying not to think of anything.

Maz concentrated hard while closing her eyes, using her own Force abilities to see into Ben's mind. After some minutes, Mazz softly said with her eyes still closed but started to frown "This is no ordinary amnesia…. Your memories… they have been… erased…. No, blocked somehow… by the Force?"

Maz opened her eyes and sat back at her chair. Kala was somehow shocked to hear what Maz told.

Han wanted to know if she helped his son or not "Well?"

Maz shook her head "Ben is not suffering from amnesia, Han. Someone, very powerful in the Force has tempered with his mind. Blocking his memories."

BB-8 beeped, asking Maz "How? Was it the First Order?"

Maz shook her head again, not knowing the answer "I don't know. Possibly, but I m not sure." she then glanced at Han, apologizing "I'm sorry, Han. Your son needs to figure out himself what had happened to him."

Han felt disappointed, but was willing to help his son anyway he could to make him remember.

Poe then asked Maz "Maz, we came to you for help. We need you to bring BB-8 to General Organa."

Maz however shook her head once again "Hmm. No," then she glanced at Han, telling that he is the one that need to help BB-8 to get to Leia "you've been running away from this fight for too long. Han, nyakee nago wadda. Go home!"

Han sighed deep, as he was in no mood to return to his wife "Leia doesn't want to see me."

While figuring out what to do, Ben was mentally thinking about Leia Organa. When he could see his father being unsure that Leia even wanted to see him, Ben came to one conclusion: Leia Organa is his mother.

Ben was so in his mind with this, that he barely paid attention to what Maz told "…I've seen evil take many forms. The Sith. The Empire. Today, it is the First Order. Their shadow is spreading across the galaxy. We must face them. Fight them. All of us."

While Poe and Kala were in to fight the First Order anyway they could, Finn however said with a serious look on his face "There is no fight against the First Order! Not one we can win."

Poe knew that Finn still didn't wanted to join the fight against the First Order, but tried to ease his friend "Finn, I know it looks bad, but if we-"

"Look around, Poe!" Finn fired back "There's no chance we haven't been recognized already. I bet you the First Order is on their way right-" but then he stopped talking when Maz adjusted her goggles, scrutinizing him "What's this? What are you doing?" Finn asked a bit confused and nervous.

Maz hoists herself on the tabletop, crawling towards Finn without leaving her sight of him. Finn asked Kala "Uhh… what is she doing?"

Kala knew what Maz was doing, but said to Finn "She seems to… check on you."

Maz then stated what she saw in Finn "If you live long enough to see the same eyes in different people. I'm looking at the eyes of a man who wants to run."

Finn frowned at Maz "You don't know a thing about me. Where I'm from. What I've seen. You don't know the First Order like I do. They'll slaughter us. We all need to run."

Ben and Poe were surprised to hear this from Finn, while Poe kept some hope that Finn would reconsider to join the fight.

Mazz crawled back to her seat, telling Finn while pointing to some pirates in the corner "You see those two? They'll trade work for transportation to the Outer Rim. There, you can disappear."

While Finn looked at them, Poe tried to tell Finn "Finn! You can't leave now. We have to get BB-8 back to my base."

Finn however stood up from his chair "I already told you, Poe. I'm not joining the Resistance."

Kala and Ben were surprised to hear that from Finn, as they'd first assumed he was with the Resistance. Han already had a feeling that Finn wasn't telling the whole truth, so he kind of expected this from him.

As Finn was about to leave, he offers the gun back to Han. But the old smuggler shook his head "Keep it, kid."

When Finn went to talk to the two pirates, Finn and Ben got up and followed Finn.

Finn couldn't understand much what the pirates said as they spoke in their native alien language, but told them "I was told you could get me to the Outer Rim."

Ben and Poe then barges into the conversation, interrupting "Finn, what are you doing?" Ben asked.

Finn then told one of the pirates "Don't leave without me." and then went with Poe and Ben to talk somewhere else.

When all three stood at a corner, Poe said to Finn "You can't just go like that. Look… I know that you feel you're no use to the Resistance, but that's not-".

Ben then wanted to know what Finn is hiding and asked Poe "What are you talking about?" Poe felt embarrassed for opening his mouth. Ben then glanced back at Finn "Finn, what do you mean you're not part of the Resistance?"

Finn sighed, and to tell Ben the truth "Okay, I wasn't totally honest back on Jakku. I'm not Resistance. I… I'm a Stormtrooper." Ben was even more surprised to hear that from Finn. Ben then glanced at Poe for a moment, who nodded, confirming that Finn was indeed once a Stormtrooper.

Finn told further when Ben glanced back at him "Like all of them, I was taken from a family I'll never know. And raised to do on thing…" Finn started to get emotional, telling why he deserted "But on my first battle, I made a choice. I wasn't going to kill for them. So I helped Poe… and I ran. I was ashamed of what I was. But I'm done with the First Order. I'm never going back. Come with me now, before it's too late." Finn offered his friends to join him.

Ben slowly shook his head, declining his offer "I can't…. I need to stay… figuring out what happened to me."

Then Ben glanced at Poe, seeing what he had to say. Poe sighed deep, understanding Finn's decision and just gave him a smile "I know I can't force you to join the Resistance, Finn. You would have made a damn great Resistance fighter. I'll always be thankful for you for saving my life. I wish you all the best."

Finn felt a bit relieved that Poe understood his decision. He puts his hand on Poe's shoulder "Take care of yourself."

"You too, Finn."

Finn then returns to the alien pirates, leaving with them to the front door. Ben was confused to why Poe was letting Finn go. Poe noticed and stated "Don't worry, Ben. He'll come around…. I hope he does." he explained that he was sure that Finn would come back, or at least hoped he will.

While both looked at Finn leaving, Ben was hearing suddenly a strange voice.

"It's not the Jedi way! He must live!"

Ben looked back, trying to see where the sounds came from. While he followed the sounds, Poe wandered what Ben was looking for and followed him "Ben?"

Finn looked back at his friends once more, but seeing they were already gone, he signed while following the two pirates out of the castle.

Ben kept following the voice, coming from down the basement.

"I'll pledge myself… to your teachings…" the same voice said.

Ben stepped down into the basement corridor. Poe asked what he was doing "Ben? What are you doing?"

Ben glanced back at Poe, asking "Don't you hear that?"

"Hear what?"

"You turned Padmé against me!" Ben heard the same voice again.

Ben walked carefully and confused, not knowing why he was down here.

"Ben, I don't think we're allowed to be here." Poe tried to say to Ben. However, Ben Solo was somehow drawn to follow the voices. When he was at the very end of the hallway, there was a door. The sounds made him draw closer, but suddenly… the door opened by itself.

Poe wasn't sure what he was seeing, neither did Ben as he entered the room.

As Ben walked into the small, dark, vaulted storage room, he noticed an old wooden box. He felt that something inside the box was calling out to him.

Ben sat down on his knees. He slowly opened the box, finding inside a lightsaber.

The voices seemed to have stopped.

Ben felt some sort of… energy… calling out to him to take the saber.

Slowly, he moved his hand towards it… when he touched it… his surroundings changed, hearing igniting lightsabers!

Ben saw he was on some sort of throne room, inside a Starship while outside in space a fierce battle was fought. He saw a Jedi, holding the same ignited blue lightsaber, battling an old man with a red ignited lightsaber. The Jedi sliced the old man's hands off and used his own lightsaber and the old man's to decapitate him!

Ben's surroundings changed again, this time the same Jedi sliced the hand of another Jedi, attempting to kill a disfigured old man on the floor. The old man used it's lightning powers to kill the Jedi "UNLIMITED POWER!"

Darkness felt across the room, all Ben could hear as he tried to flee, was the old man saying in a sinister voice "Hence forth… you shall be known as, Darth… Vader."

Ben then heard crying voices, people dying, children begging for their lives.

Then Ben found himself on a volcanic planet, where the evil turned Jedi faced another, probably his master. Both men fought hard, but in the end, the evil turned Jedi was nearly cut in half, missing his legs and left arm as he fell on the ground, near the lava.

The Jedi master yelled out to his apprentice, as the emotions became too much for him "YOU WERE THE CHOSEN ONE! It was said you would destroy the Sith, not join them, bring balance to the Force, not leave it in darkness!"

The fallen Jedi then burned away while he screamed his lungs out "I HATE YOU!" Ben felt heart broken, as he could somehow… feel pity for this fallen Jedi.

His surroundings then started to change again, while the burned Jedi screamed in agony, while black parts surrounded him, changing him into… Darth Vader.

Darth Vader then ignited his red lightsaber, marched up to Ben, ready to kill him as he raised his lightsaber. But then suddenly was stopped by another young Jedi, Luke Skywalker, holding the same blue ignited lightsaber!

Luke fought hard, but was overpowered by Vader as he cut off his right hand!

Then, as Ben's surrounding started to change again, what tilts and turns, he could hear Vader's voice, speaking to Luke "No, Luke. I… am your father."

Ben suddenly felt on dried grass, seeing the same burned temple that he had seen in his dreams, while hearing "It's energy… surrounds us… and binds us."

Suddenly it heavily rained, seeing the same young women from his dreams, with her head cloaked. But Ben was shocked to see… a dying person, that looked identical to himself in her arms. While dozens of Jedi stgod in a circle around the young women with their ignited ligthsabers, the women begged for Ben's other self not to be dead while tears flown from her eyes "Ben… please, don't die… please… I'm sorry…!"

As the Jedi approached her, feeling that the other Ben was dead, she yelled her lungs out while an enormous burst of force energy killed all the Jedi around her "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

Ben then find himself in some snowy woods while it was night. Ben could hear the same women's voice, calling for help "Ben! Ben, help me! Please!"

Ben ran around, trying to look for her "BEN!"

When he was close, the cry for help became louder "BEEEEEEEEN!" But suddenly, Kylo Ren emerges from behind a tree with her two attached ignited red lightsabers, ready to strike on Ben!

Ben falls back, out of the room, seeing himself back in the basement of Maz Kanata's castle. He breathed heavily, alarmed and perplexed.

"These are you first steps…" another voice said to Ben.

"Ben… what the hell just happened?!" Poe asked Ben while helping him getting up.

"Didn't you see that?" Ben asked Poe, still perplexed of what he just saw.

"Saw what?" Poe asked confused "When you touched that 'thing' I was suddenly pushed out of the room and the door shut. I was banging on the door constantly, calling for you!"

That was when Maz was standing in the corridor, knowing what had just happened. She walked up to Ben, while he tried to apologize "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have gone in there."

Maz held her hand up, as Ben didn't needed to apologize and stated "That lightsaber was Luke's. And his father's before him and now… it calls to you!"

While Poe was amazed by this, Ben was speechless and shook his head "I am not a Jedi! I can't be…"

Maz removed her goggles, giving a small sign, as she could sense that Ben is confused and in denial. She reaches out her hand, holding Ben's, telling him "Dear boy. I can see that you're confused, but this is not something to be afraid of. If you want to figure out who you once were… there is one person who can help."

"Luke… My uncle…" Ben said.

Maz nodded, sensing that Ben knew the truth "The belonging you seek is not behind you. It is ahead. Like I said before, I too know the Force. It moves through and surrounds every living thing. The Force has always been strong in your family. This is your legacy, Ben Solo." Maz then closed her eyes, feeling the force "Close your eyes. Feel it. The light… it's always been there. It will guide you." Maz then opened her eyes, giving Ben and ensuring smile "The saber. Take it."

But then, Ben suddenly stands up as this revelation was too overwhelming. Deep down, he knew the truth. The Jedi he saw in his vision was his own grandfather, the fallen Jedi Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the Dark Side, becoming; Darth Vader. Ben's mind was spinning, he couldn't take it anymore, refusing to accept this "I don't want any part in this!" Ben then runs off.

Poe runs after him "Ben? Ben, wait!" Maz signs, feeling sorry for Ben to be this way.

Poe tried to keep up with Ben, but lost him in the crowd. Ben exits the castle, running away, not knowing where but he didn't care. He heads towards the woods.

At that some moment, at Starkiller base…

General Hux had assembled a massive rally: More than a thousand Stormtroopers, officers and pilots, with around them many TIE Fighters and Walkers. Hux stood on a podium, flanked by red-black First Order banners. His voice echoes as he spoke to the crowd, to demonstrate the true power of Starkiller Base….

"Today is the end of the Republic! The end of a regime that acquiesces to disorder! At this very moment, in a system far from here, the New Republic lies to the galaxy while secretly supporting the treachery of the loathsome Resistance. This fierce machine that you have built, upon which we stand, will bring an end to the Senate! To their cherish fleet! ALL REMAINING SYSTEMS WILL BOW TO THE FIRST ORDER! And will remember this… AS THE LAST DAY OF THE REPUBLIC!"

All the stormtroopers and officers raised their fists "LONG LIVE THE FIRST ORDER!"

Inside the Starkiller base control room, engineers performed the final firing protocol, but there was a sense of nervousness, as the weapon was never tested. All officers and engineers felt the same. Will this massive weapon actually work?

Back with Hux, he gave the final signal "FIRE!"

The whole crowd of Stormtroopers, officers and pilots turn their faces, facing the endless snowy landscape.

For a moment, there was nothing… until… the massive cannon of Starkiller base fired an enormous firing blast, like an atomic bomb test over a billion times blasted into the sky! Seconds later, a terrible explosive roar was heard! Many troopers covered their eyes, nearly pushed back by the force of this magnitude! For miles around the fire beam, ice and snow melted instantly! Hux watches, as his eyes were filled with power and evil.

On board of the Star Destroyer Finalizer, Kylo Ren watches from the bridge as the Starkiller fired its massive beam into outer space. Though it was magnificent, she could sense that this was truly the beginning… of the end of the Republic, and the rise of the New Empire 'So… it begins.' she mentally said to herself.

Back on Takodana, close to Maz Kanata's castle, Finn was about to board the alien freighter as suddenly he heard people screaming near the castle grounds, all looking shocked as they watched the sky. Finn looked up… and was too shocked to see a firing beam through the sky, heading towards a system that would be destroyed in the blast: The New Republic's capital, Hosnian Prime.

Finn's heart sank.

Kala, who was sitting at the bar with Han, suddenly could sense thousands… no, millions of voices screaming… but then… nothing. She gasped as she nearly fell and held her hand on a table so she wouldn't fall.

Finn watched in horror as the massive beams destroyed the Hosnian Prime system. Billions of people, dead.

The New Republic… was no more.

Finn ran as fast as he could back to the castle. While Han was confused as what was wrong with Kala, a small alien called as he ran inside the cantina like he'd seen the eyes of death itself "HEY! Something has happened! You all need to see this!"

Everyone in the castle walked out, watching the sky. All gasped and were confused, horrified at what they saw up in the sky. They saw like a few stars had just been blown up… no… planets… an entire starsystem, destroyed. Chewie had just came to the castle to up meet Han, as he too looked up. Han and Kala stood beside Chewie, both looking at the fire in the sky. Kala could sense what had happened and was horrified "By the Force…"

Finn ran up to Han, Chewbacca and Kala "It was the Republic! The First Order, they've done it." but then Finn noticed that Ben and Poe weren't with them "Where are Ben and Poe?" Han looked at Finn, before checking the crowd if he saw his son, but didn't see him as well.

Ben raced through the forest, but finally stopped, trying to catch his breath. At this emotional breaking point, he didn't know what to do, not knowing anymore what to believe.

"Ben?" he heard behind him. Ben turned and saw it was Poe, who was trying to catch his breath too as he breathed heavily and BB-8.

Ben then asked him "What are you doing here?"

"Running after you, of course." Poe answered, still trying to catch his breath. BB-8 beeped, saying the same thing. Poe then tried to calm Ben down, knowing he was still in denial "Look, Ben… I know this a bit overwhelming-"

"You don't say." Ben interrupted Poe while rolling his eyes.

Poe nodded, patting Ben's shoulder "I know… I know. Look, buddy, if your memories are really whipped by someone strong in the Force. Then… Luke Skywalker, your uncle is probably the only one who can help you to remember."

Ben could feel that Poe was somehow right, but still wouldn't believe that he is strong in the Force "I know… but, I don't know if-"

But then he interrupted himself, as he could hear an awful familiar sound, becoming louder. The sounds of TIE Fighters! Both Poe and Ben looked up, seeing dozens of TIE Fighters and several transport ships "The First Order! They found us!" Poe said.

Ben's heart sank, as he saw they all headed to Maz Kanata's castle "Dad… and the others…. We have to go back, now!" he said to Poe before running back. Poe and BB-8 followed him.

Back at Maz's castle, Maz was leading Han, Finn, Chewie and Kala down the hall, as she knew that Ben would need the lightsaber "I've had this for ages…," she opened the storage room and opened the old wooden box, taking the lightsaber "kept it locked away."

Han recognized that lightsaber instantly, as he knew it was Luke's old lightsaber "Where'd you get that?"

"A good question for another time." Maz said as there was no time to explain and handed the lightsaber over to Finn "Take it! Find Ben!"

Finn grabs the lightsaber. But then suddenly, the room is shaking by the TIE fighters attack from above ground. Maz gasped as she could sense them near "Those beasts. They're here!"

Ben, Poe and BB-8 raced fast back towards the castle, while explosions were heard from where they're headed "Come on, BB-8!" Poe called to his droid friend to hurry. BB-8 beeped as it rolled faster after him and Ben.

When they saw Maz' castle, both were shocked to see it was being destroyed by TIE fighters! Aliens running, getting obliterated by Stormtroopers, running out of the transports. Ben and Poe looked horrified. But then both spotted a black First Order shuttle landing near the castle. Poe recognized that it was the same shuttle of Kylo Ren.

Just then, Ben and Poe heard radio calls not to far away from them. As they looked, they saw a dozen Stormtroopers, going after some aliens who were fleeing into the woods "Don't let them escape!" their sergeant called as he and some Stormtroopers fired on the innocent aliens.

Ben and Poe were not gonna let them get away with this "BB-8, take cover!" Poe called to BB-8 to stay low as he and Ben both grabbed their blasters and shot at the Stormtroopers, killing two of them! Four Stormtroopers returned fire, making Ben and Poe taking cover behind some trees as blasters fired around them! They fired back, killing all four of them after firing over a dozen times!

But when more Stormtroopers were coming from the castle, firing at Ben and Poe, both of them and BB-8 retreated into the woods while firing back!

At that same moment, Kylo Ren arrived at the scene. The women moves through the debris, entering the destroyed castle. A Stormtrooper approached and informed her "Ma'am, the droid was spotted heading west, with the Resistance pilot and another man." Kylo Ren looked sharply in Ben and Poe's direction, not letting the droid out of her grasps this time.

While firing and killing another Stormtrooper, Ben stops and told Poe while recharging his blaster "Poe! You and BB-8 have to keep going, stay out of sight, I'll try to hold 'em off."

Poe didn't wanted to leave his friend behind, but knowing that the First Order were after BB-8 because it held the map to Luke Skywalker, he agreed "Okay… you just be careful, buddy."

Ben nodded "Yeah, you too. Now go!"

Poe ran further, while BB-8 beeped back to Ben "Don't get yourself get killed, Ben!"

"I won't. Go!" Ben ensured him before telling BB-8 to go with Poe. It then rolled very fast after Poe, heading deeper into the woods.

Back at the destroyed castle, Han, Chewie, Kala and Finn climbed out some debris. Han and Kala grabbed their blasters and fired on the Stormtroopers "Come on, Chewie!" Han called to Chewbacca, who roared while grabbing his crossbow blaster.

Finn was unsure of how to fight of the First Order. Maz said to Finn "Your friends, they need you. Now go!"

"I need a weapon!" Finn said as he didn't had a weapon to fight of these Stormtroopers.

Maz grabs his wrist, where Finn held the lightsaber, holding it up "You have one!"

Finn was confused at first as he checked the lightsaber, but when he turned it on, it ignited a blue colored laser like a sword! Finn nodded that this'll do.

Han, Chewie and Kala took cover from blaster fire, while firing back, taking some Stormtroopers out! But it was not enough, as they were slowly surrounded. Han groans in annoyance of their situation "They're too many of them! We need some miracle to get out of here." he said as he fired several blastershots, finally killing a Stormtrooper.

Chewie said to Kala "Graaaauw greewuw groooaaw."

Kala wasn't sure if she wanted to do that, but Han was confused as he had heard what Chewie asked Kala what to do "Hey, what do you mean 'Kala, use your powers'?" he asked Chewie.

Kala sighed deep and then glanced at Han "Listen, Han… there is something that I hadn't told you about myself, when I signed my contract with you."

"What do you mean?" Han asked while frowning, as a blaster nearly hit where he stood.

Kala looked at him serious while putting her blaster back in her holder "Stay here." and then walked out of their cover, facing the Stormtroopers herself.

"Wait, Kala! What are you doing! Get back here!" Han called to Kala to come back.

Two Stormtroopers saw the Togruta women marching towards them and fired on her, but somehow, she was able to avoid their blaster fire by simply stepping very fast aside. The Stormtroopers were confused. Kala just smirked as took out one of her ammo holders and then another thing, what looked like something for repairing mechanics. But as she clicked them together and turn the one on top clockwise, tightening them, it ignited… a green colored lightsaber!

Kala Zyr was a Jedi!

The Stormtroopers looked in shock "OPEN FIRE!" and fired on the Jedi, but Kala deflected all their blaster fire easily, sending them back at them, killing the two Stormtroopers!

Han was totally surprised after seeing Kala facing the Stormtroopers with a lightsaber "Kala is a Jedi!?" he said while Kala used the Force to push three Stormtroopers flying backwards into a wall, knocking them unconscious.

Chewie growled back at Han "Grooaw! Graaaw!"

That made Han to frown at Chewie "Wait… you knew?! You knew this whole time!?"

But then Chewie growled back as he said like 'Less talking, more shooting!'. And both fired back at the Stormtroopers!

While a Stormtrooper just killed one of the few aliens who fought back, Finn surprises him and impelled the lightsaber right in the Stormtrooper's chest, killing him!

But then he was facing a different stormtrooper, with a shock mace and called to Finn "Traitor!"

Finn fights the Stormtrooper with the mace, but can hardly block his attacks as this one was more physically stronger than Finn. He held on for a minute, till the Mace Trooper knocks Finn down! Just as the Stormtrooper was about to end him, his mace was blocked by a green lightsaber, Kala's lightsaber! The Trooper looked surprisingly shocked as he faced the Togruta women. He tried to attack her, but Kala cuts off his arm, holding his mace and then his head!

Kala turned off her lightsaber as she walked to Finn, offering her hand, while Finn was completely surprised of Kala being a Jedi "Wait… what?!"

Kala helped Finn up his feet "I'll explain later."

Han and Chewie had just joined up with them. Han asked Finn "You okay, Big deal?" Finn nodded.

But then, over thirty Stormtroopers had surrounded them with blasters aimed at them "Don't move!" Kala reignited her lightsaber, as Finn, Han and Chewie raised their blasters at the Stormtroopers.

All seem to wait who would fire the first shot.

But then suddenly… all heard a familiar roar ripping sound across the lake. Everyone looked across the water, seeing X-Wings flying towards them! The Resistance had come to help! While all Stormtroopers took cover, Han, Chewie, Finn and Kala took this opportunity to fight back "It's the Resistance!" Han said as he killed a Stormtrooper with his blaster.

As the X-Wings fought of the TIE-Fighters, they also provided ground support, killing many Stormtroopers around Han, Kala, Chewie and Finn.

Poe had just arrived at the scene with BB-8. His smile grew as he saw that his friends from the Resistance had come to save the day "WOOHOO! That's what I'm talking about!"

BB-8 beeped happily as he and Poe raced to the destroyed castle, helping their friends.

Back in the woods, Ben just shot a Stormtrooper, who was about to kill a few aliens. The aliens were thankful while they fled further.

But then… Ben was feeling something… something cold… and dark… feeling it was coming closer…! He kept his blaster aimed at some direction, looking for his 'pursuer'. Ben could hear the sound of an ignited lightsaber. Ben stood up, walking slowly backwards while checking his surroundings while keeping aiming his blaster. The sounds were like everywhere, but yet… nothing.

Then suddenly, Kylo Ren appears with her two attached red lightsabers ignited! Ben's eyes went wide and started shooting at her, but was able to deflect any blast! Ben kept moving back and fires ferociously, but Kylo Ren keeps coming! Then Kylo Ren raises her hand, using her force power to stop Ben in his tracks.

Ben wanted to fire his blaster, but was unable to move. As Kylo Ren forced Ben to lower his blaster, she walks over to him, smirking under her mask "The scavenger I've heard so much about." While she walks around him, Ben breathed heavily. No matter how hard he tried, he was unable to get loose from her invisible grip. Having enough of these games, Kylo Ren breathed out loud from her nose, she held her two lightsabers close to Ben's neck and asked in a serious tone "The droid. Where is it?"

Ben didn't answer her. He tried as hard as he could not to look scared, but that didn't seemed to fool Kylo Ren, as she could sense his fears.

Kylo Ren turned off her lightsabers and moved her right hand to Ben's head. Ben could feel that she was trying to enter her mind. He closed his eyes tight, trying to fight it somehow. However, Kylo Ren had already seen something in his mind, surprising of what she saw "The map. You've seen it."

Ben was horrified as his eyes went wide open. He tried to shook his head, but was still unable to move an inch. He could feel the pain in his head increasing, as Kylo Ren tried to dig deeper into his mind.

But then, she was interrupted by a Stormtrooper, saying "Ma'am, Resistance fighters! We need more troops."

Kylo Ren smirked again under her mask and moved her right hand around Ben's face, making him lose consciousness and fell on the ground. Then she glanced seriously to the Stormtrooper, who was joined by another and ordered them "Pull the division out. Forget the droid, this scavenger has all what we need. Put him on board my ship."

"Yes, ma'am! Right away!" one of the Stormtroopers said as he and his comrade took Ben and dragged him away from the woods, to Kylo Ren's shuttle.

The battle at Maz Kanata's ruined castle was still fought, but then their sergeants had received new orders and ordered the other Stormtroopers "Pull back! Everyone, back on the transports! Now!"

As all the remaining Stormtroopers retreated, Han, Chewie, Finn and Kala took out a few more troopers, while Poe had just joined the battle. Finn was happy to Poe alright "Poe! You're okay!" Poe nodded as he fired on another Stormtrooper, killing her.

Kala just deflected a few blasters with her lightsaber and took out a few more troopers. But then, she saw Kylo Ren, entering her shuttle. Her heart sank… to see the one that was like a sister to her once, had now fallen to the dark side "Rey…"

Han looked to where Kala was looking too, spotting Kylo Ren as well. But then he was shocked to see two Stormtroopers dragging his unconscious son into the shuttle "No! Ben!" Han runs toward the shuttle through laser blasts and explosions! He had just found his son again and didn't wanted to lose him now. The shuttle takes off, but Han kept chasing it "No, no, no, no…! BEEEEEEEEEEEEN!"

Han stopped, watching the shuttle leaving along with the transports and remaining TIE fighters, with Ben as their captive.

Chewie and Kala ran to Han. While the Wookiee grunted, trying to comfort Han, the old smuggler glanced at Kala and Chewie, feeling hopeless "They took him… they took my son." Kala was about to say something, but was interrupted as Han said, looking very determent "We need to go after them!"

At that moment, a Resistance transport landed in the debris of the castle. Finn and Poe walked to the transport, followed by Han, Chewie and Kala, and BB-8 who rolled next to Poe. Finn asked confused, not seeing Ben with them "Where is Ben?"

Kala looked at him while she shook her head and turned off her lightsaber "They took him…. The First Order got him."

Both Finn and Poe were shocked. Their friend was taking prisoner. But Poe was feeling more guilty. If he had stayed with Ben, maybe he wouldn't have been taken prisoner "Oh no… darn it, I should have stayed with him!"

Just then, the Resistance transport door opened. Han already knew what was about to happen. While Resistance fighters exited the transport, to take care of the survivors, Leia exited as well, seeing Han. Both him and Leia were stunned as husband and wife had been reunited for the first time in years. Both didn't say a word.

Seeing the awkwardness, Finn, Poe and Kala let them be for a moment. Then C-3PO walks out of the transport, feeling happy to see Han Solo again "Goodness! Han Solo! It is I, C-3PO! You probably don't recognize me because of the red arm," the droid told as his left arm was replaced with a red arm for a moment. When the droid turned to Leia, he still happily said "Look who it is! Did you see who-?" but then seeing the awkwardness, C-3PO excused himself "Oh. Excuse me Prin—uh, General. Sorry. Come along, BB-8. Quickly."

Once C-3PO and BB-8 had been gone, both Han and Leia still didn't said a word. Han broke the silence, trying to compliment her "You changed your hair."

"Same jacket." Leia fired back.

"No, new jacket." Han answered while he shook his head.

Then Chewie walked over to Leia, being glad to see her again. Both shared a hug for a moment. Chewie then moans a few words and then let Leia and Han alone for a moment.

The feeling of losing their son had gone back with Han. He didn't even know how to tell this to Leia. The former Princess could sense that there was something bothering Han awfully, so she asked "What's wrong?"

Han glanced at her, with a sad and remorse face "…I founded him," Leia blinks for a moment, not believing what Han was saying "Leia, I found our son."

"What? Where is he-?" but as she asked where Ben was, she could already see on Han's face what had happened.

"The First Order got him…"

A few hours later, at D'Qar - Resistance Headquarters -

As the Millennium Falcon descended on the Resistance headquarters, escorted by the dozens of Resistance X-Wings, Poe was still feeling sorry of what had happened to Ben. Finn tried to ensure him as both exited the Falcon "Poe, calm down okay? I'm feeling sorry about this just as much as you are."

While Poe tried calm down, but was unable to. Then he paused and glanced at Finn, asking "You're familiar with the weapon that destroyed the Hosnian system?"

Finn nodded "Yeah, I think I can help."

Poe takes Finn into the command center, where Leia was talking with Admiral Ackbar and General Statura. Poe interrupted the conversation "General Organa. Sorry to interrupt, this is Finn and we need to talk to you."

Leia nodded and said to Finn, already knowing who he was and what he did "And I need to talk to you. That was incredibly brave, what you did. Renouncing the First Order, saving this man's life-"

Finn was thankful but interrupted the General by saying "Thank you, ma'am – but a friend of ours was taken prisoner. Your son."

Leia, though feeling sad that her son was taken prisoner nodded to Finn "Han told me everything."

Then Poe stated what Finn knew "Finn's familiar with the weapon that destroyed the Hosnian system. He worked on the base."

Leia felt relieved that Finn knew something useful to use against the First Order "We're desperate for anything you can tell us."

Finn nodded while telling "That's where Ben was taken – we've got to get there, fast."

"And I will do everything I can to help, but first you must tell us all you know." Leia stated as she was willing to help Finn and Poe to save Ben.

A little while later, BB-8 gave the holographic star map to C-3PO, who inserts it into a base computer, making the projected map appear in hologram for Leia, Han, Kala and the other officers present to show.

C-3PO however said shortly after in a disappointing tone "General, I regret to inform you, but this map recovered from BB-8 is only partially complete. And even worse, it matches no charted system on record. We simply do not have enough information to locate Master Luke."

Leia sighed deep, as she had hoped that this map would help them to locate her brother. Then, the General glanced at Kala, hoping she knew something "Kala, do you have any idea where Luke can be?"

Kala however shook her head "I'm sorry, General. But, Master Skywalker gave me specific instructions. After the academy was destroyed, I wasn't allowed to expose my existence as a Jedi to anyone and not trying to contact him. When I did try to contact him some months after the… massacre. Nothing. Complete radio silent. If I knew where Master Skywalker was… I would have told you already."

Leia sighed again in disappointment, but nodded to Kala, understanding it. Then she said while glancing at the holographic star map "I can't believe I was so foolish to think I could just find Luke and bring him home."

"Leia…" Han said in an ensuring tone that it was not her fault.

But Leia however shook her head in annoyance and walked away from Han "Don't do that."

"Do what?" he asked while Leia heads off.

"Anything!"

Flummoxed, Han looks at C-3PO for a moment, who shrugs "Princesses."

Han follows Leia across the floor, telling his wife "Hey! I'm trying to be helpful."

Leia rolled her eyes while she kept walking without looking at Han "When did that ever help? And don't say the Death Star." Han sighs, as he had to go through this kind of argument again.

BB-8 rolled over to something covered by a dark and dusty tarp in a corner. As the droid removed the cover, revealing it was R2-D2, BB-8 beeped "Hey, Artoo! It's me, BB-8!" But R2 didn't respond at all. BB-8 tries again and nudges R2. Still nothing "Artoo! Hey, wake up!"

C-3PO walked over to BB-8, telling him "BB-8. You're wasting your time."

BB-8 looks up at C-3PO, beeping back "Why? Maybe R2 has the rest of the map?"

C-3PO signed and stated "It is very doubtful that R2 would have the rest of the map in his backup data."

"Can we not just wake him up?" BB-8 beeped, asking.

Threepio however shook his head "I am afraid not. R2-D2 has been in low power mode ever since Master Luke went away. Sadly, he may never be his old self again." This made BB-8 lower his head in sadness.

While Leia stopped at a corner, Han changed his voice and softly asked "Listen to me, will you?" she turns, looking at her husband. Han sighs, telling with regretful words "I'm sorry that I didn't believed you, alright? You were right. Our son was alive, but… I just feared that he was…"

Leia looked at Han with some sympathy "I know you are. I too want him back."

Then Han finally said what he thought should have said from the start "I never should have sent him away… I just thought that there was… too much Vader in him-"

"Han," Leia said in a soft voice "you never send your son away, both of us didn't. He wanted to train with Luke when we gave him a choice, and he wanted to become a Jedi. I too felt sad after hearing of the massacre".

Han sigged "We both had to deal with it in our own way. I went back to the only thing I was ever good at."

"We both did…" Leia said while she shrugged.

Han gave a small smile, as he reminded himself of when Ben learned of his inheritance "If he only hadn't left too soon when he… learned of being Vader's grandson… I could have… talked with him and… saying how sorry I was."

Leia nodded, as she too felt sorry for her husband not being able to talk to Ben when he came to see her, demanding to know that if it was true that Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker was his grandfather "I know you wanted to see him desperately. But he said he had to go back… for someone. It's not yet too late, Han." Leia ensured him that he still will have the time to talk to his son.

Han nodded and then vowed to his wife "I will bring our son back home, Leia. I promise."

"I know." Leia said, with a small smile on her face.

That was when their conversation was interrupted by General Statura, stating "General Organa, the reconnaissance report on the enemy base is coming."

Leia nodded to General Statura and went back to the command center, leaving Han in thought, hoping that Ben was alright.

I want to apologize to the fans and followers of this story for the insane long wait, but as you know, I have also other stories to write and other things on my mind to do. However, I want to thank every single one of you for your patience and I hope you enjoy this chapter as much as I do. I also hope you all like the changes I made, especially the part where Ben takes his grandfather's lightsaber and seeing visions of Anakin's memories when he became Darth Vader.

Now, the part where Leia tells of Ben confronting his mother about the truth of Darth Vader being his grandfather, I'm planning to write a few prequels of this story in the future, probably after 'The Last Jedi' parts.
