Chapter 5: The Force awakens
At Starkiller Base, inside a holding cell, Ben suddenly wakes up, disoriented. He felt he was retrained on an upright rig. Ben then sees the women, Kylo Ren standing before him.
"Where am I?" Ben demanded to know.
With the high voice cause of her mask, Kylo Ren answered "You're my guest."
"Where are the others?"
Kylo Ren crossed her arms "You mean the murderers, traitors and thieves you call friends?" she began to smirk under her mask while giving a simple shrug "You'll be relieved to hear that I have no idea what happened to them."
Ben was no longer feeling afraid. He was starting to feel a hatred for this women for what she'd done. But somehow, her presence felt… familiar. Making Ben confused.
Kylo Ren could sense Ben's emotions as she stepped closer to him "I sense you somehow try to recognize me. But you can't figure out how. Interesting."
The dark female warrior then places her hands on her mask, removing it, revealing her face and half long brown hair.
Ben looks at her, being somehow surprised that Kylo Ren, the most feared women of the First Order, was this… young… like in her early twenty's. While hiding his confusion, he tried to remember her. Where had he seen her before? But he couldn't remember. Was this the result of his mind being 'erased' as Maz Kanata claimed it was?
As Kylo Ren places her mask somewhere, she walks back over to Ben. The young Solo tried hard to hide his emotions, trying to create his own mask of defiance.
"Tell me about the droid." Kylo Ren demanded, speaking in her normal soft voice.
Though feeling nervous, Ben Solo rolled his eyes and just said about BB-8 "He's a BB unit with a selenium drive and a thermal hyperscan vindicator-"
Kylo Ren then suddenly grabs him tight by the throat, looking fierce "I know its carrying a section of a navigational chart leading to Skywalker!" she sighs, trying to regain her patience "My Knights and I have recovered the rest of the map from the archives of the Empire. But we need the last piece. And somehow, you convinced the droid to show it to you. You. A worthless scavenger."
She tehn senses a little rise of fear in Ben, making her form a small grin. As she removes her hand from Ben's throat, she moves it to his head, seeing more things in his mind. Ben tried to fight her probing, but he couldn't.
Kylo Ren stated to what she saw in his head "…you're so lonely… wanting so badly to leave that desert planet you came… but you feel that you're stuck." She then slightly smiles "At night, you're desperate to sleep… yet you can't…. And when you do… you see…." Then Kylo Ren's smile vanished as she sees the dreams that had haunted Ben over the course of three years "…you see a young women… who was once dear to you. You can't see her face… you hear her screaming for help…. I see… the Dark Side… and the light… surrounding this girl."
When she searches deeper, making Ben to hurt, Kylo Ren couldn't reach further into his mind. She became confused "There is more in there…. Memories. Erased from your mind…. No… they are… blocked… by the Force?"
"Get out of my head!" Ben yells as his anger rises while in agony.
With Kylo Ren still with her head close to Ben's head, she had enough of playing around "I know you've seen the map. It's in there… and now you'll give it to me."
As she increases the pull into his mind, Ben felt more pain as if his brain was starting to go on fire any moment. Ben tried hard to resist, but that made it even more painful.
Kylo Ren frowned as he warned him "Don't try to resist it. It'll make it even more painful. Tell me now… or I can search your mind myself. You know I can take whatever I want."
Ben shook his head, not willing to tell this witch what the map showed, making Kylo Ren to reach into his mind further, making Ben even more hurt. But then… he found some inner strength, making Kylo Ren to stop from going further into his mind.
Kylo Ren used even harder with her powers, trying to break this 'barrier' that Ben had somehow created in his head, but Ben managed to held out despite the pain.
He looked at her fierce "I… won't… give you anything!"
With her own rising anger, Kylo Ren said "We'll see."
Kylo Ren then uses all her might to break further into Ben's mind. The pain was unbearable, but Ben was not going to give up on his friends and slowly pushed Kylo Ren's reach out of his head.
'What is this?!' Kylo Ren mentally asked herself in confusion and felt a slight sense of fear 'No one can push me out! No! I won't let anyone get the best of me! I am far more powerful than this scavenger!' she tries desperately to break the barrier in his mind. But Ben was slowly growing in strength as he breathed in and out, slowly pushing her out. Kylo Ren's confidence started to melt away.
With on final push she tried to enter the core of his mind, but that left her venerable, letting Ben to push her powers out so hard that he was the one entering her mind, making Kylo Ren's eyes going wide as she gasped!
As Ben's sees her mind, he sees a frightening little girl… surrounded by darkness… trying so hard to be the best… but was always pushed down and tortured from the inside out while a dark hooded figure looks down on her in disappointment.
"You… you're afraid…," Ben said, while Kylo Ren was unable to force him out, seeing her suffering from within "That you will never be as strong… as Darth Sidious!"
Kylo Ren suddenly withdraws her hand, breaking the connection and takes a step back. She was perplexed. This scavenger… was strong in the Force. Yet somehow, she too was recognizing this power from somewhere. Ben too saw something in the Force that he'd seen before, but couldn't reach out to see it.
Rattled, Kylo Ren takes her mask and leaves the holding cell. She had to contact her master, Snoke.
Kylo Ren was able to contact her master through the big holographic communicator in the large assembly room.
The Supreme Leader was confused as his apprentice had failed to search the man's mind.
"The scavenger resisted you?!"
"He's strong in the Force!" Kylo Ren answered, not wearing her mask "His memories… they were erased, or blocked by the Force. This scavenger was probably a Jedi, but doesn't remember anything, nor even knowing of his power."
Snoke scratched his chin, as he was curious to why this scavenger could be a Jedi and yet couldn't remember "His memories… blocked by the Force, you say? And the droid?" Snoke asked.
But before Kylo Ren could give an answer, General Hux entered the large room, telling the Supreme Leader what Kylo Ren did "Ren believed it was no longer valuable to us." While Kylo Ren's anger for Hux's attempt to make her having failed her master, the general kept mocking her "She believed that the scavenger was all we needed. As a result, the droid has most likely been returned to the hands of the enemy. They may have the map already."
As Snoke was becoming furious in his mind, he spoke while also looking worried and angry "Then the Resistance must be destroyed before they get to Skywalker."
"We have their location." Hux added "We tracked their reconnaissance ship to the Ileenium system."
A smirk was growing on Snoke's face, seeing that their enemies will be destroyed with one swift strike "Good. Then we will crush them once and for all. Prepare the weapon."
Kylo Ren then suddenly felt something as she remembered something while trying to probe Ben Solo's mind. She saw an old man. Han Solo, hugging the scavenger on the Millennium Falcon. It was all making sense to her now "He's the son of Han Solo." She said under her breath.
However, Snoke had clearly heard what his apprentice said and glanced at her "What did you say?"
Kylo Ren faced her master "He's the son of Han Solo! I saw in his mind that he'd found his father. If the scavenger is truly the missing Jedi, Ben Solo, then he's-"
"The grandson of Darth Vader!" Snoke finished Kylo Ren's sentence as he formed a smirk. While General Hux left the room, Snoke looked down at his apprentice "If what you say about this man is true, that he's truly Han Solo's missing son. Bring him to me!"
Kylo Ran made a small bow before Snoke broke contact "Yes… my master."
Back inside Ben's holding cell, Ben tried to get loose from his restrains. He then stops as he turns to the Stormtrooper Guard, who was ordered to keep an eye on the prisoner. Ben tried to figure out a way to escape. Suddenly, Ben saw another flashback.
He saw himself as a young teenager, learning from his uncle Luke how to use the Force. With Luke advising his nephew "Remember. A mind trick only works on the weak minded. Just breath… and tell him or her what to do."
As the Flashback ended, Ben felt a bit of pain in his head. But after seeing this memory, he got an idea. Ben closed his eyes and breathed easily, trying to focus on the Stormtrooper. He then says "You will remove these restraints. And leave this cell, with the door open."
The Stormtrooper looks at him "What did you say?"
Still with his eyes closed, Ben repeats, with authority "You will remove these restraints. And leave this cell, with the door open."
The Stormtrooper walks up to Ben. He opens his eyes and glanced at the Stormtrooper who said with a fierce sound in his voice "I'll tighten those restrains if you don't shut up! Scavenger scum!"
Ben stares at the trooper. He easily breaths, and tries again and slowly moves his restrained right hand "You will remove these restraints. And leave this cell, with the door open."
The Stormtrooper then slowly stands straight, being now fully controlled by Ben, he said "I will remove these restraints. And leave this cell, with the door open." The trooper presses a button and unlatches the restrains from Ben's arms and legs.
As the Stormtrooper is about to walk to the door, Ben chuckles as he was able to control the trooper's mind. But as the trooper was about the exit the holding cell, Ben quickly said by using another mind trick on him "And you will drop your weapon."
"And I'll drop my weapon." The trooper easily obeyed as he dropped his rifle to the floor and walked out of the cell while still being in trance. Ben takes his chance and takes the rifle while carefully exiting the holding cell, looking for a way out.
A few minutes later, as Kylo Ren (now wearing her mask) walked into the holding cell. She is shocked to see the holding cell was empty but understands what had happened "No. No!" enraged, she leaves the cell "GUARDS!"
At that same moment, two Stormtroopers walked into the corridor, seeing a infuriated Kylo Ren, making them gasp as she faces them, making them to stand straight in fear.
"THE PRISONER HAS ESCAPED!" Kylo Ren yells at the troopers "FIND HIM! LOOK EVERYWHERE!" the two Stormtroopers quickly nodded and walked away, nearly running to search for the escaped prisoner and contacted the other troopers.
In the control room, General Hux ordered the workers at their controls "Begin charging the weapon!"
A female Starkiller Technician nodded "Yes, sir. Weapon charging." As soon as she pressed some controls, a massive solarvac array started to drain the power from the planet's sun in a straight long and thick line, entering the Starkiller base through the array, charging its super weapon.
At that moment at the Resistance headquarters on D'Qar
Nearly all the members of the Resistance were gathered around the map table, which displays a wireframe hologram of a rolling view of the surface of Starkiller Base. Finn was also present, including C-3PO, Poe, Kala, Chewbacca and Han Solo.
Poe started saying "The scan data from Snap's reconnaissance flight over Ilum confirms Finn's report."
The pilot named Snap Wexley nodded "They've somehow created a hyper lightspeed weapon built within the planet itself."
"A laser cannon?" Major Brance asked.
"We're not sure how to describe a weapon on this scale."
"It's another Death Star." Major Ematt said, remembering how the Empire could destroy planets with that battle station during the last war.
Poe however shook his head as he hits the controls, showing a wireframe of how big the Death Star was back then "I wish that were the case, Major. This was the Death Star." Then Poe hit another control, making the Death Star shrink as the true size of Starkiller base is compared to the Death Star being over ten times larger "This is Starkiller base."
Seeing that the former Death Star was nothing compared to this 'Starkiller base' made everyone on the room stunned, being horrified.
"So it's big." Han said, trying to feel like it was no big deal, but he too was scared after hearing about the First Order's major weapon.
Admiral Ackbar, a hero from the Galactic Civil War asked "How is it possible to power a weapon of this size?"
Finn then states how Starkiller base works "It uses the power of the sun. As the weapon is charged, the sun is drained until it disappears."
Just then, a female officer turns up and hands over a datacard to Leia. The general looks at it, making her heart sink "The First Order: they're charging the weapon again, now. Our system is the next target."
Everyone looked worried to hear this horrible development.
"Oh my. Without the Republic flee, we're doomed." C-3PO said with great worry.
That was when Han tried to keep everyone some hope and suggested "Okay, so how do we blow it up? There's always a way to do that."
"Han's right." Leia said, agreeing with her husband
Kala then theorized "In order for that amount of power to be contained, that base would need some kind of thermal oscillator…"
"There is one." Fina spoke and moves around the hologram of Starkiller base. As all eyes are on Finn, he zoomed in on where the base stores all that power it drains from its sun "Precinct 47. Here."
The Togruta Jedi nodded as that could destroy the weapon "Of course. If we can destroy that oscillator, it might de-stabilize the core and cripple the weapon."
"…Maybe the planet." Major Ematt added.
Poe then tries to bolster everyone's spirits "We'll go in there and we'll hit that oscillator with everything we got."
But Admiral Ackbar disagreed "They have defensive shields that our ships cannot penetrate."
Han tried to think of something "Then we disable the shields." Han then glanced at Finn "Kid, you worked there, what do you got?"
"I can do it." Finn said with confidence, what impressed Han.
"I like this guy."
"I can disable the shields. But I have to be there, on the planet."
"We'll get you there." Han ensured him. Chewbacca growled as he was going to help to, before Han added with confidence "And I'm going there to safe my son."
Then Kala stepped in "Me too."
Leia however didn't know how Han was going to be able to enter Starkiller base with their shields up "Han, how?"
Han looked at Leia "If I told you, you wouldn't like it."
Poe nodded as he told what the plan is "So, we disable the shields, take out the oscillator and we blow up their big gun." Everyone nodded "Alright. Let's go!"
Not long after, the entire Resistance fleet prepares for its mission. All pilots inspect their X-wings while mechanics make adjustments and some crew fuel the jets. Poe inspected his new black-marked X-wing while BB-8 is pulled into Poe's fighter.
"Glad that we left this one at the base and not took it to Jakku, right BB-8?" Poe asked with a smirk to his droid friend.
BB-8 beeped in agreement.
Finn walked up to Poe as he exited his X-wing "Are you sure you're not coming with us, Poe?" Finn asked his friend.
Poe sighed as he states "The fleet needs me, Finn. I'm more of use in the air then on the ground."
Finn gave a nod in understanding. Poe then patted on Finn's shoulder "Good luck."
"You too Poe." Finn then walked to the Millennium Falcon.
Poe reentered the cockpit of his X-wing and putted on his helmet, while Nien Nunb said in his alien language through Poe's communicator "Don't leave us too soon again, Poe."
Poe just laughed "Not this time."
Outside the Falcon, Chewie and Finn took some supplies inside while Kala helped Han to check the systems.
"Kala, check that donal cepitator."
Kala nodded "Alright."
But then Han told her "Listen. Just because it turns out that you're a Jedi now, doesn't mean you're gonna get a raise."
Kala gave a shrug "I never asked."
But then Han sees Finn nearly dropping some orbs from a box "Finn, be careful with those! They're explosives."
"Now you tell me?" Finn asked, nearly shocked that they things he held are actually explosives.
While Finn and Kala went inside the Falcon, Han checked a few last more things before they were heading to Starkiller base. He was then interrupted when he looks over and sees Leia "No matter how much we fought, I've always hated watching you leave." she said.
Han formed a small grin as he walked up to her, trying to tease her "That's why I did it. So you'd miss me."
That made Leia laugh a bit as she moves close to him "I did miss you."
Han tried to bring up some memories about their fights, with not all of them bad "It wasn't all bad, was it? Huh? Some of it was… good."
Leia gave a nod "…Pretty good."
"Some things never change."
"True. You still drive me crazy."
It was true that even after they admitted their feelings to each other, gotten married and have Ben, they would still argue sometimes, still driving them both crazy. But no matter how hard those were, Han and Leia always kept loving each other.
Both of them embraced, feeling like it was thirty years ago, when they were still young. They pull each other tight, holding life dear, as this might be their last moment together.
Han sighed and said softly "I'll find our son and bring him home."
Back at Starkiller base
As Kylo Ren marched angrily throughout the corridors, hoping to find Ben Solo, she was interrupted when a female Stormtrooper who informed her "Ma'am, sensors triggered in hanger 718. We're searching the area."
Kylo Ren walks to the trooper, warning her "He's just beginning to reawaken his powers. The longer it takes to find him, the more dangerous he becomes." The trooper nodded and went her way, warning her other comrades while Kylo Ren walks further.
In the atrium area, Ben, with the Trooper Guard's rifle held tight, he peeked around a corner. A small group of Stormtroopers walked nearby. He waited till the Stormtroopers were gone before running through a different hallway while watching the other hallways for any other Stormtroopers. He had no idea where to go, but somehow… felt something that told him where to go. Ben started to begin to feel that this was The Force, guiding him.
Not long after, inside the Millennium Falcon
The Falcon was about to approach the planet Ilum (now Starkiller base) going through lightspeed.
Finn, who was sitting in the cockpit together with Han, Chewie and Kala asked "How are we getting in?"
Han calmly states his plan "Their shields have a fractional refresh rate. Keeps anything traveling slower than lightspeed from getting through."
This shocked Finn "Wait, we're gonna make our landing approach at lightspeed?!"
Chewie, thinking it's crazy too, growls like he was saying "Hell yes we are!"
Kala shook her head, knowing too that this was crazy but held her hand on Finn's shoulder "You better hang on. This is gonna get a little rough."
Finn looked with some fear, but gave a nod and held on to something.
"Alright, Chewie, get ready." Han told. Chewie groans. As the controls started to beep louder and louder when they approached the surface of Starkiller base "And… now!" Han and Chiewe hit the switches and exited lightspeed, with the surface of the planet coming in fast only 100 feet away!
Han pulled as hard as he could to! Chewie groans loud! "I AM PULLING UP!" Han yelled.
But the Faclon had no time and plows through the trees of a forest!
Chewbacca growls like saying "PULL UP!"
In the madness Han yells "If I get any higher, they'll see us!"
The Falcon kept flying straight through dozens of trees, till it hurtles out of the forest! The ship dives and slams into the snow! It slides away for a mile, till it finally came to a canted stop, half buried in the snow.
At that same time in Starkiller base
As more Stormtroopers search the base for the escaped scavenger, an officer informed Kylo Ren "Ma'am, he was not found in hangar 718 but all troops are on alert."
Kylo Ren wanted to make sure that Ben wouldn't escape and ordered the officer "Put every hanger on lockdown. He's going to try to steal a ship to esca-" suddenly, Kylo Ren sense something. Something familiar that she hadn't sensed in years "Kala Zyr…"
Back with Han, Chewbacca, Finn and Kala
As the group exited the Falcon, Kala suddenly could sense Kylo Ren's presence. The Togruta women stood frozen for a moment. She then closed her eyes and sighed. She knew what she had to do… even if she could get killed because of doing it. As Chewie carries a black duffel with the explosives, he and Kala went with Han and Finn, crossing the terrain.
Not long after they took cover behind a base structure. Finn then pointed to where they should head to get inside the base "The flooding tunnels are over that ridge. We'll get in that way."
That was when Han wandered how Finn knew so much about the base. So he asked him "What was your job when you were based here?"
"Sanitation." Finn answered.
Han then grabbed Finn and faced him seriously "Sanitation?! Then how do you know how to disable the shields?"
Finn tried to calm Han and told him "Another Stormtrooper from my squad knew how to that. He told me how."
That did calm Han down, but also wanted to know where his son might be imprisoned "You also know where they could be holding Ben?"
Finn nodded "Probably in one of the holding cells. I know the way."
Chewie then moans while growling. Kala then told him "We're all cold, Chewie." She then told Finn "Lead the way."
Finn then lead the group into the base. All could see the sun being sucked of its energy. They knew they hadn't much time.
A few minutes later, a Stormtrooper waits to board a Transport Compartment. As the door whooshes open, he suddenly sees Han, Chewie, Kala and Finn "Hey!" was all he could say before Chewie shoots the trooper, sending him flying back, dead.
While Chewie drags the dead Stormtrooper out, Kala asks Finn "Okay, we're in. So how do we disable the shields?"
Finn then told "My friend told that only a high ranking officer could disable them."
"What?" Kala asked confused.
That was when Finn grew a grin "Don't worry. I got an idea."
Captain Phasma heads down to a corridor, before suddenly being T-boned hard and fast by Chewbacca!
Han, Kala and Chewie held Phasma at gun point in the control room, forced to face Finn.
"Remember me?" Finn asked Phasma with a serious look.
Disgusted to see back 'the traitor', Phasma said coldly "FN-2187."
"Not anymore. The name's Finn, and I'm in charge. I'm in charge now, Phasma. I'm in charge!" Finn said with a bit too much overconfidence.
Han eased him "Bring it down. Bring it down."
Finn nods to Han before glancing back at Phasma again serious "Follow me."
In another area of the base, Ben peers around another corner, before running into the corridor, ending at a vast atrium with a railing-free dop off. Ben heard some Stormtroopers talking around the corner and took cover. As he peeked, he could see hundreds of TIE-Fighters at the end of the walkway at an open hangar door.
This had become more difficult for Ben. How was he going to get passed the Stormtroopers? While he tried to think what to do next, he hears behind him another group of Stormtroopers and Snowtroopers marching his way. Ben had to think fast and runs fast to the edge and climbs down. As Ben hold on carefully, the guards walk off, not having seen him over the edge. Ben then spotted a service hatch. He climbs down further and reaches up to it. As he was able to open it he climbs inside the wall, closing the hatch behind him.
Back in the control room, Phasma was sitting in front of a workingstation that controlled the planetary shields while pressing a few buttons. Finn, Han and Chewie held her at gunpoint, forcing her to lower the shields.
"You want me to blast that bucket off our head? Lower the shields." Finn demanded with a serious voice.
Phasma frowned under her helmet and glanced at Finn for a moment "You're making a big mistake."
Suddenly, Kala ignited her green lightsaber and held it close to Phasma's head, making the Stormtrooper Captain scared. Kala strongly advised her, switching over to aggressive negotiations "You better do what he says, Phasma, or you're gonna lose more than just your helmet."
Finn held his rifle at Phasma's head "Do it."
Seeing no other option, the scared Stormtrooper Captain did what was told and started to lower the shields "Jedi scum." She said under her breath.
Han then said to Finn "Kid, if this works, we're not gonna have a lot of time left to find Ben."
Finn ensured the old smuggler "Don't worry, Solo, we won't leave without my friend."
Then another few controls beep-clicked, showing on the screens that the planetary shields were now all disabled.
Phasma stood up and said cruelly to Finn "You can't be so stupid as to think this will be easy. My troops will storm this block and kill you all."
Finn wasn't scared of Phasma's threats anymore "I disagree." He then asked Han "What do we do with her?"
Han then asked "Is there a garbage chute? Trash compactor?" a grin grew on his face as how that reminded him 30 years ago when he and Luke saved Leia from the Death Star.
Finn showed a similar grin "Yeah, there is."
Meanwhile, with Poe
As Poe and his squadron still flew through lightspeed, he suddenly got hearing from the Resistance headquarters "The shields are down! Black leader, go to sub-lights. On you call."
"Roger, base." Poe answered before ordering the other pilots "Red squad, blue squad, take my lead."
Nien Nunb acknowledges Poe's order in his alien language "Roger that, black leader."
Another pilot, Zolo Ziff too acknowledges "Dropping out of lightspeed."
Dozens of X-Wing fighters dropped out of lightspeed and headed down towards Starkiller base!
As all the X-Wings had entered Ilum's atmosphere, Snap Wexley called "Lock S-foils in attack position."
With the target in range, Poe called "Almost in range! Hit the target dead center, as many runs as we can get!
All X-Wing pilots acknowledges.
Back at the base, General Hux was shocked to see suddenly an entire squadron of Resistance fighters coming in while alarms blare.
One officer called while calling all defensives "Resistance fighters in coming!"
Another told General Hux "Sir, we're under attack!"
The General angrily ordered "Dispatch all squadrons!"
"Yes, General."
Back with the X-Wings, Poe gave the order to shoot "Let's light it up!"
With over a dozen dive bombers hitting the target, they all pulled up quickly!
"Direct hit!" one pilot called.
"But no damage." The alien X-Wing pilot said.
Poe gave a nod and called in "Yeah, we gotta keep hitting it! another bombing run! Remember, when that sun is gone, that weapon will be ready to fire! But as long as there's light, we got a chance."
"Right behind you, Poe!" the female pilot Jess said.
But as the X-Wings were ready to perform another bombing run, BB-8 suddenly spots a lot of TIE-Fighters coming in! The droid quickly called Poe about the situation, making Poe to look at his right.
"Guys, we got a lot of company!"
Poe's black X-Wing made a sharp turn, followed by other X-Wings and opened fire on the TIE-Fighters, meeting a lot of returning green fire from the First Order fighters!
Inside the base, Han opened a hatch, what was leading to the trash compactor. Chewie and Kala held Phasma tight, while Finn aimed his riffle at the Stormtrooper Captain. She looked fierce at them "You're not getting away with this!"
"Graauw Grooaaaw." Chewie said before he tossed Phasma into the hatch with her screaming as she dropped down into the trash compactor.
"Serves you right, Phasma!" Finn called, feeling thrilled after standing up to his 'former' superior.
Han closed the hatch, telling "Now let's go and find Ben."
All agreed and followed Finn.
They took cover from around a corner, hiding from passing Stormtroopers who ran to their battle stations as more alarms were sounded throughout the base. As they'd passed, they carefully ran further till they were at a blast door.
Finn pointed at the door, stating "The holding cells are nearby. We need to get passed that blast door to get further in there. We could use those charges of Chewie to blow it up."
Han was thinking that that could work "Alright let's do that. Chewie you-" but he was interrupted when Kala patted his shoulder "What?"
"I think we've already found Ben." Kala said while pointing to a window.
All looked and saw Ben climbing out from inside the wall, carefully climbing back up to the main level. Chewie murmurs in relief while the others smiled that Ben was okay. They all headed into another corridor to reach Ben.
Just as Ben had climbed up to the corridor, he heard a sound. He takes his riffle in hand. But as he approached who they were… he felt that it was his father. He showed himself, what shocked Han and the others for a moment, but felt relieved it was just Ben.
Ben asked confused "What are you guys doing here?"
"Saving you of course." Finn stated, while Chewie groans happily.
Han then asked his son "Are you alright? How did you escape?"
"I…" Ben took a little moment to tell, but then honestly answered "…I used the Force."
Han formed a smile and hugged his son, what Ben returned.
Kala too formed a little smile, also feeling relieved that Ben was alright. But while Chewie explained that this was all Finn's idea, Kala peeked around the corner if she spotted any guards.
"This was your idea?" Ben asked Finn.
The former Stormtrooper nodded "Yeah. You're my friend, we're not letting you just behind like that."
Ben placed his hand on Finn's shoulder, feeling appreciated of being rescued "Thank you, Finn."
Finn just shrugged "Don't mention it."
Kala then told "We should go." All nodded and followed Kala to exit the compound.
Outside, the X-Wings were still dogfighting with the TIE-Fighters, while slowly losing lives!
Snap tried to avoid a TIE-Fighter "I got one behind me. See it?" he called to Jess.
"Yeah, I'm on it!"
Jess tried everything she could to rescue Snap while trying to avoid both TIE-Fighter fire and missiles. One missile hit one X-Wing on her right!
"AAAAAAAAAH!" the pilot screamed before crashing down, dying instantly on impact!
"Burillo is down." Jess called, feeling nearly saddened of losing another pilot.
On the ground, Han, Ben, Kala, Chewie and Finn ran outside, seeing the dogfight between the Resistance and First Order, seeing that the good guys were losing.
The five heroes turn to each other, with resolve in their eyes. "They're in trouble. We can't leave." Han stated.
Kala then got an idea and said "Hey. Chewie's got a bag full of explosives, right? Let's use them."
Everyone agreed to the plan and took a snowspeeder to get to the oscillator structure fast.
Back in the Resistance base on D'Qar
A Resistance Techniscian turns worriedly to Leia "General, are you seeing this?"
An alien Resistance officer name Kaydel Ko Connix too said worriedly "Two more X-Wings down. That's half our fleet destroyed."
C-3PO then turned to another monitor, seeing how worse the situation had become "And their weapon will be fully charged in 10 minutes! It would take a miracle to save us now."
Leia tried to remain calm, despite she began to become more worriedly as well. However, she could sense that Han had found Ben and were heading down to destroy the oscillator. But she could sense something else… feeling that something terrible will happen soon.
Back at Starkiller base, inside the Oscillator structure
Han, Kala and Chewie arrived in first, with three security Stormtroopers approaching. Instantly, Chewie and Han opened fire while Kala ignited her green lightsaber. As blasters were fired from both sides, Chewie took out one Stormtrooper, while Kala deflected the blasters from the other two while covering Han. She managed to kill one of them with a deflected blast and Han took out the other one with shooting in the head!
Seeing that the coast was clear, Kala nodded while deactivating her lightsaber and all moved ahead.
In another part of the structure, Finn and Ben entered. Ben opens a service hatch while Finn kept watch. Ben reaches into the mechanics and took a piece of tech from the machinery "There. That'll open all doors for them."
While waiting in the hallway, the hatch opens for Han, Chewie and Kala and stepped inside. As Chewie and Han checked their blasters, they were now at the large open core of the oscillator structure with a long way down.
All three divided the explosives. Han then told in a hushed tone "We'll set the charges at every other column." Chewie then groans to Han, suggesting a different idea. Han looked around and considers Chewie's idea. Han then nods "You're right. That's a better idea."
Just as Han told Chewbacca that he and Kala should take the top, Kala suddenly sensed something. Kylo Ren was approaching.
"I'll go down below. Detonator." Han told Chewbacca when he gave him the detonator.
But then Kala says "Wait, Han. It's better you and Chewie take the top, I'll go down below."
While Chewie was feeling usure about this, Han asked the Togruta women "You sure?" Kala gave a nod. Han sighed while giving her a few extra explosive charges "Take these. Be careful."
"I will." Kala ensured him before leaving to the other direction.
Chewbacca then grunted to her worriedly.
Kala glanced at her Wookiee friend for a moment, giving him a smile, ensuring him "I'll be alright, Chewie. Go."
Chewbacca moaned while going with Han to the next level. When Han and her Wookiee friend were gone, Kala sadly sighed. What she just said to ensure Chewbacca that she'll be alright… was a lie. She wasn't sure if she would ever see her friends again. But knowing what she had to do, she dismissed those thoughts and started placing the charges.
A minute later, both Han and Chewie were all-clear and climbed up to the next level.
Through the main entrance, Kylo Ren and a squad of ten Stormtroopers entered the inner structure of the oscillator. Then, Kylo Ren came to a stop. She scans the structure, sensing something. She turned her face to her Stormtroopers "Find them." some troopers nodded and all walked into different directions, looking for the intruders, while Kylo Ren looked around on her own.
Some Stormtroopers moved up the ramp with their weapons ready, while others searched the current level. Around a corner, Kala kept herself hiding after placing the next charge. At this stage, she should have gone up to meet with Han and Chewie, but no, the Togruta Jedi had to do something else: Saving her best friend… from the Dark Side.
Kylo Ren checks her surroundings when she stopped at the railing. She then walks further, resuming to find the one she felt was a disturbance in the Force.
Kala peaks around the corner, seeing Kylo Ren. A tortured storm of feelings went through her mind as she watches Kylo Ren progresses, walking over a flat bridge that bisects the large open space of the oscillator.
The dark cloaked women was unaware of Kala. Then… when she was halfway across the bridge, she was suddenly called out by her real name.
"REY!"
Kylo Ren stops as the call for her real name echoed throughout the inner structure.
A few Stormtroopers had spotted Kala and aimed their blasters at her.
Chewbacca and Han watch down below, seeing Kala at the railing, while Kylo Ren stood still halfway on the bridge.
"What the hell is she doing?!" Han asked in a hushed tone, nearly shocked. Chewie moans worriedly for her Togruta friend.
Kylo Ren then turns herself, seeing the Togruta women, who was once her best friend when she was still a Jedi. Coldly, Kylo Ren says "Kala Zyr. I've been waiting for this moment for a long time."
Carefully, Kala walked on the bridge, approaching Kylo Ren. No… her best friend… Rey, who she still believed was still in there behind that mask.
At that same time, Finn and Ben made their way into the space, opening a hatch above, allowing a beam of light to stream down like a spotlight on Kala and Kylo Ren. Ben and Finn get to the railing and look down, seeing Kala only standing fifty feet before the First Order witch.
"Take off that mask, Rey. You don't need it." Kala said.
"What do you think you'll see if I do?" Kylo Ren asked emotionless.
With some sadness growing in Kala, she answered "The face of my best friend, who was like a sister to me. And she still is…"
For a moment, nothing happened. Until Kylo Ren takes off her mask. For the first time in three years, Kala finally saw the face of her best friend. But was she still the same Rey she once knew? Or was she completely gone, consumed by Kylo Ren? No, Kala refused to believe that.
"Your sister is gone." Kylo Ren said with the same emotionless tone, but with a slowly rising anger "She was weak and foolish, like all the other Jedi! So I destroyed her."
Kala carefully stepped forward, while she shook her head, knowing deep down that Rey was still in there "That's what Snoke wants you to believe but it's not true. My sister is alive, standing before me."
Ben began to sense something in Kylo Ren. There was conflict in her, like her… true self tried to reemerge.
Kylo Ren shook her head to Kala "No. My new master is wise. He has learned me things about the Force that Skywalker never could. This is my destiny."
Again, Kala shook her head as she kept slowly approaching her "Rey… I know you… we've been knowing each other since we were children. Think about all the fun we had together, how we…" she now only stood a few feet before Kylo Ren, trying to search for Rey inside her and telling about their childhood and how they grew as Jedi "You never gave up on me, and I never gave up on you. Rey, you gave me the courage to continue, and that same courage let me here. Come with me. Leave this place with us. I can help you."
Kylo Ren showed hesitation. It was tempting. But feeling she had already falling so far deep into the darkness, she slowly shook her head "It's too late for that…"
"No it's not. It's never too late to turn away from the Dark Side. Let me help you." Kala spoke, nearly pleading her best friend to denounce the darkness and turning back to the light.
Slowly, Kylo Ren was feeling conflicted. All the pain and suffering she had to endure when embracing the Dark Side started to reemerge. Tears formed in her eyes. For the first time in three years, her true self started to come back "I'm being torn apart." She spoke with honest to her sister "I've… killed… so many people. All I want… is to be free of this pain. I know what I have to do, but I don't know if I have the strength to do it." with tears flowing from her eyes, she softly asked Kala "Will you help me…?"
Kala stepped forward, nodding "Yes. Anything."
Kylo Ren took a moment to look at her mask, holding in her right hand. And then drops it on the bridge floor. She looked back at Kala. A smile started to grow at the Togruta and both embraced in a hug.
Just then… the last beam of sunlight streaming through the hatch vanishes.
With the light gone, Kylo Ren could hear her grandfather's voice in her head "Let the past die. Kill that what stands in your way and fulfill your destiny… my granddaughter… my heir…" Kylo Ren's teary eyes were starting to fill with darkness. With her left arm she held onto Kala tight.
Ben could feel the rising darkness in Kylo Ren.
Kala could sense it too and softly pleads "Rey… please…"
And then… Kylo ren ignites her two-attached lightsabers and stabs Kala right through the chest!
Finn and Ben gasp in horror, while Chewie roars loudly for losing his friend. Han couldn't believe what was happening as he was shocked beyond belief.
As life was slipping away from Kala, Kylo Ren softly spoke in her ear "Thank you… for being my friend…. Sister…" Kylo Ren then pulls out her lightsabers from Kala's chest.
Kala looked at Rey one last time. A tear fell from her right cheek. She then falls back, falling into the depths of the structure as her body slowly vanishes, becoming one with the Force.
Kylo Ren looked at where Kala's body had disappeared, making her breath heavily as she closes her eyes. Her grandfather's voice, laughing evilly in her head as his granddaughter had not failed him after all. But deep down inside Kylo Ren's soul, she was torn to the core. She had killed one the only friends she'd ever had and was like nearly family to her.
Chewie cries out in agony and furiously fires at Kylo Ren, hitting her in the side! Kylo Ren falls back, stunned.
Stormtroopers started firing at Chewie and Han, who are forced to retread down a corridor while firing back "C'mon Chewie!"
On the top part, Ben and Finn gave covering fire to Han and Chewie and killed many Stormtroopers.
Then, when Chewie and Han were out of range, Chewie pressed the explosive remote and presses the button! Six total explosives went off, killing the remaining Stormtroopers and created a chain reaction as the walls cave in!
As she recovered herself, Kylo Ren spots Ben and Finn. Seeing them both, her anger was rising and her pupils turned yellow. She stood up and heads for them with long strides. Both Ben and Finn ran back outside.
At the Resistance base
Admiral Ackbar saw on their scanners what had just happened to the oscillator on Starkiller base "The Oscillator's been damaged but is still functional."
Then the female officer Tabala Zo worriedly after an alarm beeped on her monitor "Admiral, their weapon will fire in two minutes."
Back with Ben and Finn, while running away from the Oscillator
As the oscillator was ablaze and fractured from the explosives, Ben and Finn ran into a forest "The Falcon's this way." Finn said while both kept running, while they were still overcome with emotion after seeing Kala die after they believed being manipulated that Kylo Ren would redeem herself. Not knowing what was really going through the witch's mind.
But then, both men stop when both heard two ignited lightsabers. Out of the shadows, Kylo Ren appeared, standing thirty feet away from the two men.
Kylo Ren, now without her mask, looked fierce at Finn and Ben "We're not done yet."
Ben's anger rose "How could you? Kala was trying to help you!"
Kylo Ren shook her head "No. She was holding me back!" Then she slams to her wound on her side, making it bleed more. The pain was giving her the strength she needed from the Dark Side.
Ben moved forward with his blaster and aims at her, but Kylo Ren the shoots out Force Lightning from her left hand finger tops at him, sending Ben flying backwards till he hit a tree hard! He drops hards on the snow, dazed and hurt.
"Ben!" Finn called out in shock seeing Ben wounded on the ground. But then he looked fierce at Kylo Ren. He took out Luke's blue lightsaber, raised it and ignites it.
Kylo Ren was not impressed, saying with an nearly evil grin "Just because you have a lightsaber, doesn't make you a Jedi." Then she said coldly "Well… at least you can die like a Jedi."
Despite his fear, Finn charged at Kylo Ren. She deflected his blow with ease and deals with several blows of her own, but Finn managed to deflect Ren's attached blades as he fell onto the ground. Kylo Ren turns, slamming herself on her side again to increase the pain.
Finn quickly stands up and attacks, but Kylo Ren avoided the blows fast by moving out of the way. She was slowly enjoying this challenge and then made her two-attached lightsabers into a double-edged lightsaber, shocking Finn as she swifts her long blade very fast. Finn did what he could to deflect the blows, but was always pushed back further till his back was at a tree. Kylo Ren quickly made her double-edged blade into two-attached and strike, with Finn managed to hold back and both sabers locked. As the two struggled to gain the upper hand, Finn was slowly losing the battle as Kylo Ren was too powerful.
Ben was slowly recovering, seeing Finn fighting Kylo Ren through the trees. Suddenly he got another flashback
This time, Ben was seeing himself using his lightsaber to fight a training droid. Ben saw himself fighting the droid with everything he had and destroyed it after several blows.
When the flashback ended, Ben got an massive headache. But that erased/forgotten memory made Ben to know that he was very skilled in using the lightsaber. And he still is!
As Kylo Ren shoots another Force Lightning, Finn only managed to block some of the lightning with Luke's lightsaber but was hit very bad and was send flying backwards. Kylo Ren jumped high, ready to deal the finishing blow on Finn, but he moved quickly out of the way and delivered a few more blows that Kylo Ren barely managed to deflect before actually being hit in her shoulder!
As her pupils turned yellow again of her increasing fury, Kylo Ren attacks with ferocity. Finn was stunned, unprepared for this fierceness. Kylo Ren unleashes a series of merciless blows, pushing Finn even further and further back till Kylo Ren dealt with one heavy blow, making Finn to lose Luke's lightsaber as it flies through the air, landing twenty feet away. Kylo Ren delivered a strong kick in Finn's face, making him to turn and then slashes Finn's back!
Finn fell forward, wounded and unconscious.
Sensing that Finn would die anyway, she turns off her two-attached lightsabers and reaches for Luke's lightsaber, using the Force to pull it to her. But strangely, the lightsaber wouldn't move. Getting more frustrated, Kylo Ren increases her power to Force Pull the saber, seeing it as a trophy for her victory.
But suddenly, the lightsaber flies out of the snow the other way, into Ben's right hand! Ben had reached for the lightsaber himself using the Force. The saber had chosen him to wield it.
Kylo Ren looked at him with near shock, but Ben… he was slowly feeling more confident as he holds the saber with both hands, igniting the blue saber.
Kylo ren ignites her two-attached red sabers, immediately turning them into a double-edged saber, not underestimating her opponent.
Ben charges at Kylo Ren, who immediately went on the defensive, deflecting with speed all his strikes, hitting several tree branches around them. With her acrobatic moves, she tried to deal dozens of blows with her long saber, but Ben was able to deflect any of them. Ben then uses the Force to push Kylo Ren, sending her flying backwards! But Kylo Ren then jumped from one tree to another and dived down at Ben with a fierce strike, only being able to dodge it in the nick of time!
Kylo Ren then fires another Force Lightning at Ben, but was able to block it with his saber! Trying as hard as he could to hold such immense power, forced to take some steps back. Kylo Ren saw her chance and used the Force to send several broken trees at Ben! With his lightsaber, he tried to cut through them, with only the last one hit him hard and send him flying backwards.
Kylo Ren jumped high and screamed in her fury to deliver the final blow, only for Ben to lock the strike with his saber and quickly move out of the way before Kylo Ren could strike him with he other end of her long red saber.
With Poe
The Resistance pilots were being overwhelmed by an increasing number of TIE-Fighters, forcing them to retreat above the planet's atmosphere, making it for them impossible to launch another bombing run!
Niv Lek saw another X-wing being shot down by a TIE-Fighter "We just lost R-1!"
Jess was feeling hopeless "We're overwhelmed What do we do? It isn't working!"
That was when pilot Yolo Ziff saw the oscillator on fire and contacted Poe "Black Leader, there's a brand new hole in that oscillator. Looks like our friends got in!"
Poe saw it too and immediately contacted his remaining squadron members "Red 4! Red 6! Cover us!"
"I'm on it!" pilot Bastian said.
"Roger!" the alien pilot Ello Asty said.
"Everybody else, hit the target hard! Give it everything you got!" Poe called and dived down with his fighter to attack the oscillator, with all the remaining X-wings behind him!
As Poe's black X-wings soars through the trench leading to the oscillator structure, the ground turents tried as hard as they could to blast the X-wings out of the sky, hitting only two but the others went too fast to hit them directly!
Jess saw Ello Asty was being shot at "Ello, watch out!"
But it was too late, the turent hit the alien's X-wing from the left! "I'M HIT!" Ello Asty screamed before his X-wing blasts into pieces, killing him.
As Poe and the others approached the oscillator, several TIE-Fighters tried to stop the Resistance fighters. Seeing only he could make it in, Poe called his squad "All teams – I'm going in! Pull up and cover me!"
Niv Lek gave a nod "Copy that, Black Leader! Good luck, Poe!"
As all the remaining X-wings pulled up, Poe headed alone to the fiery breach, having one TIE-fighter behind him, shooting at him!
In the control room with General Hux
A Starkiller technician saw on his screen that the super laser was nearly fully charged!
"General. Weapon at full capacity in 30 seconds."
With a growing smirk, Hux ordered "Prepare to fire." In his mind, he was sure that victory was within their grasp 'Today, the Resistance dies and the First Order will rule the galaxy.'
Back with Poe
Poe's X-wing weaves through the breach, making the pursuing TIE-Fighter to pull up. Once inside the oscillator, Poe started fire at every corner of the inner structure with photon torpedoes! As he fired a fifth time, a chain reaction of several powerful explosions went off! Poe quickly flew with his X-wing out of the structure, joining his squadron.
A few seconds later, the entire oscillator structure was destroyed in an powerful explosion, followed by more powerful explosions began to crater deep underground!
With Ben, fighting Kylo Ren
Amid the bare white trees, Ben deflected Kylo Ren's lashing strikes from her saber, but was forced to retreat. Ben jumped high as a colossal chunk of the forest right behind him drops away! Ben delivered several fast blows at Kylo Ren, being able to deflect them. But then she left her defense open, leaving Ben to deliver a fierce uppercut strike, breaking Kylo Ren's double edged saber in half!
Kylo Ren quickly kicked Ben in the face and summersaulted backwards. She looked at her saber, with only one working, while the other one was so badly damaged that it wouldn't work. With her rising anger, Kylo Ren broke the broken saber from her own and threw it away, leaving her only with one firing red saber.
She charged at Ben, having found her strength again and delivered several strong blows at Ben, making it harder for him to deflect them, pushing him further back!
As the ground started to collapse, Ben was suddenly fighting on the edge of massive cliff! Being forced back further and further, being weakened, Kylo Ren nearly stabbed Ben, but he was able to lock her saber.
As both warriors looked at each other, Kylo Ren slowly evilly smirked "You fought well… Jedi. But know this; no one is strong enough to beat me! Not even you."
Ben, slowly feeling his fear began to overwhelm him, he was this close to give up. But then… he heard a voice… talking to him.
"Use the Force… Ben."
Ben flickered with his eyes, as the sounds of the battle and destruction of the planet started to mute, only hearing his breathing.
Ben recognized that voice… somehow. It was his own grandfather. The spirit of Anakin Skywalker.
"Grandfather…?" he asked under his breath.
"Trust the Force… and it will guide you…"
Ben's breathing started to ease as he closed his eyes. He felt it. Small flashbacks appeared before him, seeing himself as a full trained Jedi, having surpassed any test… and protect the ones he cared about.
Kylo Ren was confused, as she could suddenly sense a rising power in Ben. She flickered with her eyes… somehow… recognizing this power "…Wait…. I've seen this before… but where…?"
Kylo Ren had no time to think as Ben's eyes opened and moves out of the way fast, striking with incredible force! Now it was Kylo Ren who was pushed back further and further. Kylo Ren became desperate "No. No! I am the most powerful Sith! No one is stronger than me! NO ONE!"
Ben swiftly slashed at Kylo Ren so hard that every tree was hit with immense power! Ben then hit Kylo Ren nearly her left leg, cutting through the clothes and skin. Kylo Ren shook her head and tried to deliver a strong blow, but was held by her writs by Ben, with her grabbing Ben's! Both tried with all their might to gain the upper hand, but slowly… Ben was stronger than her. A fear started to grow in Kylo Ren "No! NO!" she mentally screamed.
With one blow, Ben destroyed Kylo Ren's remaining lightsaber and slashes Kylo Ren in the head and chest!
She fell down on the ground, grunting in pain. Now with a huge burning scar across her face, she looked at Ben with nothing but fear as her yellow burned eyes returned to their normal color. While Ben breathed heavily. He could just finish Kylo Ren right here and now. But he couldn't… as he felt something for this… girl, but not knowing what this was, neither Kylo Ren could explain this while still looking at Ben with both fear and confusion.
Then, the earth shakes and splits! A gully forms between them, separating them for dozens of feet away.
Ben took one last look at Kylo Ren before deactivating his grandfather's lightsaber and ran into the forest, looking for Finn.
Kylo Ren slowly stood up, still grunting in pain. She went the other way slowly, while she limps as her left leg was injured. Kylo Ren then spots a First Order shuttle landing near her. As the blast door opens, she was greeted by one of her Knights and limps inside. The shuttle then flew away.
With Hux
Panic started to unravel in the base as the destruction of the oscillator structure caused a enormous chain reaction, starting to rip the planet apart from the inside out! Many officers and Stormtroopers tried as hard as they could to leave the base before it's too late!
Hux ran into the assembly room, with Snoke showing in the big holographic image "Supreme leader!" Hux was horrified at the sounds of the destruction "The fuel cells have raptured! The collapse of the planet has begun."
Though Snoke was furious and desolate, he knew that the base was lost and ordered Hux "Leave the base at once and come to me with Kylo Ren." Then, sensing that Kylo Ren had somehow pleased him, he grins "It is time… to complete her training."
Back with Ben
Ben had made it to Finn, who still lies motionless on the ground, nearly dead. Ben falls on his knees and turns him over "Finn! Finn!"
But then, Ben had another flashback, seeing himself using the Force to see if a wounded person was still alive.
Ben flickered with eyes a bit. He placed his right hand on Finn's head while closing his eyes. He sensed… that Finn was still alive… barely, making Ben a bit relieved. Then, he could feel something, that help was on its way. He saw lights rising from the newly-formed canyon. He saw the Millennium Falcon and it's lights illuminating Ben!
Chewie was at the controls, while Ben's father, Han stood at the opened hatch door, calling to his son "Ben! Let's get out of here!"
Ben grabbed the still unconscious Finn and carried him over his shoulder, and entered with him into the Falcon with Han helping him to carry Finn.
Once they were inside, Han called to his Wookiee companion "Chewie, punch it!"
Chewie roared and made the Falcon take off while the planet was collapsing below them.
The Resistance fighters, lead by Poe followed them.
"All teams! I got eyes on them!" Poe called through communications with a big smile on his face. All the Resistance pilots yelled in celebration.
As all the ships left Starkiller base, more an far more powerful explosions erupted from the planet, imploding on itself. And with one last single blast, the planet was gone, leaving nothing but a star in its place as if a light was restored in the galaxy!
Starkiller base was destroyed.
The Millennium Falcon and all the remaining X-wings jumped into hyperspace, heading home.
Later, at the Resistance base on D'Quar
The Falcon landed on the landing strip, with hundreds of Resistance fighters cheering for the heroes who'd done the impossible. All hailed Poe and the pilots. When the hatch door of the Falcon opened, Chewie and Han carried down the ramp an still unconscious Finn. Medical Personnel took Finn into the base "Easy, easy. He's hurt. We've got a heartbeat." Chewie went along with them.
Han then saw Leia, who smiled at seeing her husband making it back home. Both embraced for a while. As they slowly broke the hug, Leia then spotted someone else leaving the Falcon. It was her son, Ben. Not believing her eyes, she slowly walked to him.
Ben watched her coming.
Seeing in a quick flashback, he saw himself as a little boy being held in his mother's arms.
When Leia stood in front of him, Ben said while forming a smile "Hey mom…"
Both son and mother smiled as they embraced in a tight hug. Han joined them too. All three were happy to be together again, as a family.
However, they were interrupted when C-3PO walked to them. When the droid saw Ben, he couldn't believe that it was Leia's missing son "Thank the maker!" he called out, making Ben to look "Master Ben, it's so good to see you alive and well!"
Ben smiled at the droid "It's good to see you again too, Threepio."
Later, Chewbacca sits quietly somewhere, as do many in the base, mourning for the people they'd lost in the battle. Chewie moaned in sadness of losing Kala, who had become such a dear friend to him over the past two years, and now… she was gone.
Suddenly, the deactivated R2-D2 stirs, making beeping noises. BB-8 rolled over to him. Both astro-droids beeped happily to see each other again.
C-3PO joined them too, feeling happy that his long time friend was back "R2-D2! You've come back!"
R-2 then beeped to C-3PO "Where is Leia?! I've found it!"
"You found what?" C-3PO asked
"Some new parts for that brain of yours, can head!" R-2 sarcastically said.
"How dare you call me that!" C-3PO angry said while hitting Artoo in the head.
R-2 continued "I got to show this to Leia. I know how we can find Luke!"
That surprised C-3PO "Find master Luke? How?"
R-2 beeped again how important this is.
Threepio nodded "Come, R2! We must go tell the others at once!"
While Ben was telling his mother where he'd been all this while and had no memory how he got on Jakku, Leia showed some worriedness "And your memories were erased? By someone using the Force?"
Han nodded, confirming Ben's story "Maz told us after 'checking' on Ben."
They were then interrupted when C-3PO came to them, with R2-D2 and BB-8 "General? Excuse me, General?" Leia turns, being surprised that R-2 was back online "R2-D2 may have some much needed good news." C-3PO said with relief.
"Tell me." Leia asked R2.
Some minutes later, a handful of officers, including Poe joined with what R2-D2 had to show. The old astromech droid then projects a hologram, showing a large navigational map with a specific missing chunk.
BB-8 beeps to Poe, who nodded "Yeah, all right, buddy, hold on." He rans over to the base computer and took out the ancient data device that Lor San Tekka gave him and inserts it back in BB-8, who projects the map, shrinks it down and the two droids move the holographic images together slightly, completing the map that shows where they can find Luke Skywalker!
Everyone watched with amaze, while C-3PO said with amusement "Oh! The map! It is complete!"
Leia puts her hand on her heart, as her hope in finding her brother had been restored "Luke."
C-3PO leans down to R2-D2 and says, quietly, sweetly while placing his hand on the droid's head "Oh my dear friend. How I've missed you."
The next day
Ben, now wearing a new outfit, sits down on a chair close to Finn, still unconscious in an I.C.U. Pod with his fate uncertain. Some worriedness was shown with Ben as he placed his hand on Finn's head "Hang on in there, buddy. We'll see each other again. I believe that. Thank you for everything, my friend." He then steps up and walked away.
Outside, Chewie and Han prepared the Falcon for the long journey to Luke's whereabouts. Leia was there too, asking him with some annoyance in her voice "You really need to go again?"
Han ensured his wife "What? It's not gonna be for long this time, I hope." He said with some uncertainty, which earned from Leia a glare. Han sighed as he states "Besides, me and Ben have some catch up to do. And so too with Luke."
Leia then gave him a small smile "I know." both shared one last hug as Ben came too. Han gave his son a pat on the shoulder before going inside the Falcon.
Mother and son both looked at each other. For Leia, this reminded her too much of when Ben was just a boy when he left to train with Luke to become a Jedi, nearly got her teary as she had to watch her son leave again, after being missing for three years.
Ben stroked her left arm, ensuring his mother "I won't be gone for long. If I want to find out who erased my memories and left me on Jakku, uncle Luke is the only one who can give me these answers."
Leia nodded "Do what you have to do, Ben."
Ben then turned himself, heading to the Falcon. Then Leia called out to her son "Ben." He turns around, seeing his mother smiling at him "May the Force be with you."
That made Ben to smile gratefully and gave a nod before heading inside the Falcon.
As Ben entered the cockpit, he was surprised to see his father sitting at the co-pilot seat. Han smiled at his son, nodding to him, as if he gave him his blessing to fly the Falcon. Ben smiled as he sat on the pilot seat. Both father and son flick some switches and take off.
As the Falcon left D-Quar's atmosphere, Ben said to his father "Prepare for lightspeed."
"She's all yours, Ben."
Ben nodded and used the switch, making them jump into hyperspace, heading towards the planet where Luke Skywalker resides. The planet Ahch-to.
And that's the end of 'The Force Awakens'. Once again I want to apologize for the long insane waiting. Honestly, I wasn't even sure if I wanted to write another chapter as I have been so busy and focused on my other stories that I first wanted to put this story on hold for a while. But as I got back into it, it motivated me to continue it.
So, as a way to make it up to you guys for waiting so long, I'm gonna write two more chapters after this, starting up 'The Last Jedi' parts. Expect hug plot twist in these parts as I was honestly disappointed how the movie 'The Last Jedi' went. Afterwards that, I have great plans for the chapters after that. But I'm not gonna spoil anything as it's a huge surprise ;)
