Journal Entry #1
["Sooo, where do I begin?"]
["Well, it all started when Eda told me that story about Sparda and his sons, but then she told me there was a temple that the 'Sons of Sparda' went to before their 'deaths.']
[A 'sunken tower' of a temple.]
[However, Eda did say that the last and ONLY remnants of the Sparda bloodline lay at the bottom floor of the tower. Eda wanted to come with me as another training session, but she had to grab more elixir to maintain her "cursed condition," so King volunteered. He said that this could be a good chance to identify new types of demons.]
["Boy, I wish he could've talked me out of going to that temple...but then again, neither of us knew what to expect when we got there..."]
[Mission 1: Reawakening]
"This is going to be great, Luz. We're going on another adventure together...and this time into uncharted territory," King said with optimism.
"I'll say. So, do you know where we are going, King," Luz asked as the demon dog walked in front, his skull-covered face deep into a unknown book.
"Nope," King answered without thought, making Luz nearly trip over her feet. She looked at King with a scowl and raised eyebrow as if he was pulling her leg.
"And that's why we have a map," King said opening up his book and a half folded piece of paper revealed itself between the two pages, making Luz sigh in relief.
"So, what's the name of this place we're going to," she asked.
"Temen-ni-gru or better known as "The Temen-ni-gru Tower." It is said in legend that the sunken tower is literally the epicenter of supernatural activity, demonic and magical alike," King summed up as Luz could only smile and cheer with glee.
"How will we know when we find it," she asked.
"Easy. Look for a tower that looks like a regular building only with the majority of the structure...underground, leaving the top of the building the only accessible route inside," King emphasized with sarcasm as he did previously refer to it as a "sunken" tower.
"Heh, right. Of course," Luz said with embarrassed look, obviously not catching King's remark about what makes finding the tower so difficult in the first place. "So a rooftop to the place and a staircase going down, maybe? That could work for helping us getting inside.
"That could work. But it could be guarded or booby trapped, so let's be careful and be prepared when we get close," King suggested
"Got it," Luz agreed as they continued walking throughout the landscape, far out of Bonesborough and into the Mountain region of the Isles, where the Covenant's base of operations, (better known as Emperor Belos' fortress) was a hop, skip and jump over the next mountaintop.
...Later...
"It sucks that Eda couldn't join us," King commented with doubt of enjoyment without Eda and her troublesome ways.
"Knowing her, she would turn this trip into a treasure hunt," Luz said as both of them started laughing in agreement because that's what Eda would do. If it's a get rich quick scheme then Eda will be all over it to make a quick buck.
"Hmm? I think we should be closing in on the tower soon," King said as they walked down a rocky hillside, in view of a cliff-side. That is until Luz sees a couple of steps that slowly descend out of view, possibly a staircase, if it hasn't crumbled away due to nature and time.
As duo approach the staircase and started to descend into a isolated, rocky area, they hear a feral roar. The roar came in the direction of the staircase that was still out of view, meaning either it was big or it had a good pair of lungs. The duo look at each other
"What was that," Luz asked, feeling a sense of fear and rethinking going on this adventure may have been a bad idea.
"I don't know," King simply answered, matching Luz's face of shock while she sported a look of surprise as she look back at the demon dog.
"You don't know? You haven't heard a roar like that before? Heck, you haven't heard a creature make that kind of roar before," Luz asked as if she was hearing this right. Even King doesn't know what they were about to encounter? This was a major first.
"Not until now," King answered back as they quickly ran in the direction of what made that roar, trying not to trip over each other as they.
Once they came off of the staircase and away from the rocky formations, they found an interesting sight to behold. It was a small valley like site with some ancient ruins lying around, probably discarded all over due to nature and time. Several pillars with several statues in a circular arena were present, showing off the location's age with broken statues and worn pillars.
"Well, I guess we found the sunken tower of Temen-ni-gru," King said as he looked back at map they had for reference and sure enough, the roof along with its ruined statues were a definite match along with the map.
But what really got their attention was the creature that was safe guarding the arena to the sunken temple.
"...King...What is that...," Luz asked in fearful curiosity as she got low behind some bushes while King maintained his balance on her shoulder.
DEMONIC VANGUARD:
SHADOW
"Oh. Cool. A Shadow. I haven't seen one of those in real-life before. At least, not one in the middle in daytime," he added with such surprise and astonishment.
"Are these creatures only active night," Luz asked as King just shook his head in disagreement.
"No. It's because they are hard to see at night. I mean, look at their pelts. You could practically see the demonic, shadowy mist erupting off of their furry-like body from here. That is, if you have a problem seeing it than you CAN get closer. Just be careful NOT to attack directly unless you plan to kill it because capturing or playing keep away is out of the question," King commented with a point of his paw.
"Anyway, in my "Encyclopedia of The Demonic, Daemonic and Creepy For Amateur Devil Hunting Heroes," King said, holding the book high for his human compatriot to see as he read the lengthy title for comic relief and dedication to look forward towards the situations they will soon find themselves in thereafter.
"Where were you keeping that," Luz asked, pointing at the book that mysterious appeared from out of nowhere behind the self-proclaimed king of demons as if King has a secret pocket that he didn't want to share with everyone.
"Does it matter," King asked rhetorically, making Luz look at her sidekick with raise eyebrow, before dropping the topic to let King have the floor.
"Now then...," King said as he opened the book and looked for the creature of interest until he found what he was looking for.
"Shadows are ancient demons with great experience in fighting human knights with bladed weapons in the Human World, but due to the sealing off of the Underworld, they have had no opportunity to adapt to any recent weaponry. Their form in the Human World is their own shadow, however bound together with magical spells and properties which protects them and allows them to change their shape at will: the original form resembles a sabertooth cat or a panther. Also, they possess an immunity to melee attacks until their body is dispelled, which allows opponents to attack their spherical core."
"Any weaknesses on that cat that may help me dispel them faster," Luz asked.
"Eh...," King began as he was now tongue-tied, meaning nothing good. "...Nope," he simply answered.
"What," Luz said in surprise. "You think that the demon observer who recorded everything in the book and then some would some helpful hints on how to deal with things a little bit faster and easier," she commented with a sigh.
"Nothing that hasn't already been recorded in the book...yet...," King answered, holding up his demon guide book in front of Luz for emphasis.
"Oooh. Nice artist rendering," she said with a curved smile when she saw the detailed art picture of the Shadow in a crouching position as if it was a cat ready to pounce onto a prey and compared it to the creature in front of them. Luz held the book out, so the demon and the art piece were side-by-side, they looked almost the same.
"Luz. I'm not going to sugarcoat it for you, but if we want to get out of here, we-meaning you-need to find a way to get pass that guard cat," King said as Luz could only mutter a small speech of encouragement and walked out of the bushes, towards the arena with King in tow.
When Luz was within visible range of the cat, she put on a brave face and prepared for the best and worst case scenario. Looking around the arena for any quick escape routes.
"But first...we have got to deal with that thing first...," Luz commented as she eyed the over-sized cat.
"What's the plan, Luz," King asked, as she looked at him tongue-tied.
"Ehhh...," she began, trying to think of something.
"Come on, Luz. Like I told you before. This was going to be "uncharted territory" meaning we're going to have a few surprises and hurdles along the way while investigating this temple," King explained as Luz immediately huffs out a sigh and sits on the ground, trying to calm herself down while trying to think of something that would qualify as a plan to get past the shadow cat.
"Well, I don't have a plan, but I have an idea," Luz admitted with a weak smile for being put on the spot on how to handle her first encounter with an actual demon that may want to attack her.
"Lemme guess: It's a stupid idea that may get us hurt and/or killed," King asked.
"Well, I don't see you coming up with anything, King," Luz said snidely with a halfhearted grin as King sighed uncomfortably.
"Well, what's your idea," he asked as Luz could only muster a small, cheeky smile of uncertainty, meaning one thing.
This was a horrible idea of a plan.
...Soon...
"I will call you over when I need help," Luz said as she came out of the bush first.
"You better be right about this, Luz. Otherwise, I'm going to be the only witness to see you get torn apart by a demon," King commented as Luz glared at him. "But still no pressure, right," King random added as Luz's glare turned into a scowl with a frowning face.
"Shutting up now," King finally said as he went low into the bush as Luz took a deep breath and started walking forward. Slowly and hesitantly, but brave all the way.
The Shadow was laying on its stomach as if it was a cat, licking its fur and growling a bit, showing any living creature in the area that it was there and as it started to feel anxious and boredom of where its situated in for territory and put its head to the ground, almost tempted to take a nap, but it opened its eyes and tilted its head up at the sound of uneven footsteps.
A new, mysterious, alien like creature was approaching...
"Uhm...Here, kitty...kitty...kitty...," Luz said in the most scared and civil tone she could muster with the "shadow cat" looking at her in a solemn tone of disinterest, barely growling at her to show that it knows she there, but not in the mood to fight. However, since the unknown stranger is now within the arena, its trespassing on its' territory, which made the Shadow get up on all fours and began stalking towards Luz like any predator cat would do when investigating trouble.
When it got into striking distance, Luz immediately went low onto her knees and tilted her head towards the ground. She knew this thing was going to kill her, if she doesn't stay calm. The next thing she sees is the paws of the Shadow in front of her (since her head was tilted and her face was pointed towards the ground), she couldn't look the Shadow in the eye as it started to sniff the top of her head, making her hair stand up from its breath inhaling and exhaling from its nostrils.
"Don't freak out. Don't freak out," Luz repeated to herself as the shadowy, demonic aura-like essence started making her senses go crazy with fear. Soon enough, it backed up a step and started observing the new creature and began walking around Luz, challenging her as if she was another predator or a prey with a growl, making Luz sweat bullets as if she was about to have a panic attack.
From the Shadow's perspective, the stranger can either attack and it could turn into a fight for survival or the stranger could run away and nothing would happen. The Shadow doesn't have a problem chasing after the stranger, but should the stranger attack and run away, it will give chase. All the Shadow needs to do is wait for the stranger to make the first move. And with a growl, the Shadow was circling around Luz as if it was taunting her to make the first move, but Luz was too scared to actually think of the next step to her "plan." To either attack or run away, it didn't matter, she was scared stiff. This thing was no wolf, but its strategy is similar to a group of lioness, pick a target, chase and/or surround the target, immobilize the target, then go in for the kill and slowly let the prey die.
Luz quickly cycled through the spells she pre-made for the occasion, but none looked like they could do anything to this demon. All she could think of was distractions to keep the Shadow away.
"King! Time for Plan B," she quickly said as she waved him over.
"Plan B? Right! What's Plan B," King asked as Luz started to back up towards the edge of the arena, waving him over to join her.
"Oh, I hope you have a plan, Luz," King said as he ran over and climbed up Luz's back, so if she had to make a break for it, she wouldn't leave him behind.
She quickly puts on her purple cat hoodie and gets low on all fours to make the creature think she's a shape-shifter.
She quickly conjures a pre-made light spell from some paper in front of the Shadow and slowly puts the paper out on the ground, in front of her. An orb of light erupts from the paper and in front of the creature, levitating a foot or so off the ground. Thankfully, she had a few more light spells on hand and she didn't want to use all of them, if there were more creatures, further in the temple's depths.
"Here, kitty. Follow the light," Luz said as she gently tapped the orbs, so they would gently fly away from her, catching the Shadow's attention entirely.
When she was sure the Shadow cat was distracted and far away to notice their absence, Luz ran full-tilt away (with King in tow) as fast they could before the Shadow cat would realize that it's been distracted with a simple light spell and give chase. Thankfully, it was too distracted with the bright orb to chase after the intruders.
Into the corridor they went, and the tower's secrets they saw.
"Well, that went well," King joked as Luz could sport an uninterested glare at the self-proclaimed King of Demons.
"And it could've gone a lot worst, if we attacked that thing," she added.
"Which is why we would need a special weapon of some kind to fight that thing or anything that can eat us alive," Luz commented with realization of how under-equipped she and King were when it came to spells, water, snacks and materials to survive the tower they were about to enter.
Luz put her hand on the door and the door was stuck, then she pushed the door as hard as she could, then King joined in as fear of that Shadow coming after them was beginning to make him even more scared as the door eventually creaked open.
"IN HERE," Luz shouted as King dove in as she quickly shut the door.
...Soon...
Luz was holding her chest as she was was close to hyperventilating since she was so scared.
"I hope it gets easier from here," King commented as Luz calmed down to speak normally.
"You know as well as I do King that it NEVER gets any easier, no matter how simple a task, objective, quest, or adventure is," Luz commented as she looked down the hall.
"So...now that were in, where do we go," Luz asked King since he had the map to the place.
"Well, we follow the map and work our way down," King explained bringing the map back out and started looking at the specs to see where they were.
"Let's see...3rd Floor, probably the east wing," King said pointing to his map. "So we go...this way," he said as he pointed down the hall that would split into a fork in the road, but he continued to point right.
"Are you sure? What happens if we run into more of those demons, like that Shadow from before," Luz asked in a worried tone as they started walking.
"I wouldn't worry too much, Luz. That one was a stray, so it probably broke through the seal on the Underworld and made its way out by a small crack in the barrier by luck. It happens from time to time. We would only be in real trouble if more of them came out, all at once," King explained as they rounded the corner.
"Alright, then. Let's go," Luz said in a more confident and excited tone as they followed the first hallway down further into the tower. Further into the sunken ruins of the Temi-ni-gru tower, Luz began to feel a sense of nostalgia, mystery and curiosity with a hint of fear for good measure, but overall, she was having the time of her life. She was exploring a ruined tower (with the inside completely intact) with so much history and mystery behind its very existence, possibly with a big background in magic. As they went down hallway after hallway, through the corridors and possibly almost nearly falling off a couple of floors that have broken apart and gave way due to time, they were so turned around on where to go until they came across the central stairway.
"...Follow the...stairs down...to me...," a cryptic voice spoke to Luz as she brought her hand to her ear as if someone was standing right next to her.
"Uhm? Let's go down," Luz suggested as Luz looked at the creepy stair that led to possible darkness.
"Are you sure? I'm getting a bad feeling," King said in defense.
"It'll be fine. Besides, we might find something...interesting," Luz explained, although King couldn't tell if she was being serious or possessed. But hey, its an adventure. The places that were designed to scare your pants off are totally worth exploring as long it doesn't literally kill you, right?
"Okay. Let's do it," King said as he hopped on Luz's right shoulder as she started her trek down the spiral staircase.
Floor by floor, statue by statue, King guided her all the way to the bottom, listing all the various locations throughout the tower as if this was a field trip. As much he wanted to show her the tower's deepest, darkest secrets, the plan was that they explore the tower from the ground up; so whatever's at the bottom, they'll explore the ruins and work their way back up. That is until they hit the "lowest" sub-level floor. After going halfway down the tower's staircase, the trek down began to get darker...and darker...until you could only see their eyes.
"Oh, man. Is it dark down here," Luz commented with concern.
"I'll say," King adds as the human grabs her phone and turns it on, so she could see better. Lighting up her face, then King's, and finally pointing it towards the ground and all around to see where they were and what was around them. Lots of creepy and gothic vibes with a hint of anxiety and horror, then she points it to the ground and she saw they were at the last few steps on the staircase.
"Next Stop: Bottom Floor," Luz announced as if she was a elevator voice operator who took her first step onto the lowest level of the tower.
That is until they make it all the way to the room where the central base of the tower stood, where the central mechanism for the seal to the Underworld was located.
"Whoa, where are we King," Luz asked as she slowly approached cautiously since they were barely any light in the room.
"Like you said before, we're on the Main Floor, but I don't know what rooms are on this floor because the map didn't show anything else," King answered as he walked slowly behind the human and started looking at the walls for assistance.
"And I can't read this type of language, Luz., but its looks more ancient than the Boiling Isles itself," King added, shocking the human again.
"Which means were the first ones to find this place in the longest. Sweet. I can't wait to show Eda all of this. That is if she doesn't go into treasure hunter mode for valuables first," Luz said with ever growing enthusiasm as King and her went down the only hallway on the floor.
"Wow. I don't know how this place is still standing or at the very least, clean. I mean, this place looks like it hasn't been visited by anyone for who knows how long and it looks like it barely has any structural damage to it. The outside is one thing, but inside...Sheesh. It barely looks brand new," Luz commented. Sure she saw spider webs and ruined statues, but nothing out of the ordinary that said this place was falling apart.
"This place must be protected by ancient everlasting magic spell of some kind and its probably due to the seal that its able to maintain itself through the harsh elements of the outside world, even time," King suggested until they approached a spacious room.
...Main Floor...Lair of Judgement...
Once they entered the room, the room was instantly illuminated with light with each of the markings in every structure made up the layout of the room from the ground to the walls to even the structures within the ground, forcing Luz and King to cover their eyes. But at least the duo could see now. After a few seconds of letting their eyes adjust to the light, Luz and King began to explore the room.
Luz was distracted by the everlasting patterns on the wall while King saw a podium with book nearby...
"Welcome to the Lair of Judgement...," King read as those words got Luz's attention and prompted her to join him.
"The final and the main room of the Forbidden Land (the sub-levels of the sunken tower), and the "control room" of the tower itself. This is a large sacrificial chamber, with a ritual mechanism, which requires a Perfect Amulet (two halves of the same amulet conjoined together), Sparda's blood and a human's (specifically, a priestess') blood to break the seal to unleash the chaos of the Underworld.
Both partners slowly backed away from the podium as they continued searching for anything of interest until something catches Luz's attention...
In the middle of the room were three separate sword display stands embedded in the ground, forming a triangle with a elevated pillar in the middle as if someone could put their hand on it.
They saw one sword off to the far right; a massive claymore sword with a heavy double-edged blade, notched on both sides near the tip. The grip is plain, but the guard is skeletal, with a skull-design on each side leading to the rib cage from which the blade emerges; on one side of the blade, the skull is that of a human, while the other uses a horned demon's skull.
However, the other two swords stands were...kind of, sort of...
"...Empty...," Luz said questionably as she stared at the first sword, then back to the empty sword holders. The vacant hole for the far left missing bladed weapon was thinner and smaller than the other vacant weapon holder not too far over, in comparison to the weapon that Luz was seeing still within its resting place. Meaning there are 2 different styled swords missing out there in the Boiling Isles. And without a general picture or description of either sword, Luz wouldn't know where to start her treasure hunt looking for the swords.
"Cool find, Luz. You found one of the Legendary swords of Sparda, Rebellion," King announced as he dropped off of Luz's shoulder and looked around the only weapon in the room.
"Rebellion," Luz repeated as she looked at King, then back at the sword and began to get drawn in by the mysterious blade as she felt an aura of demonic power emanating from the weapon.
"...Release...me...," the raspy, cryptic voice from before said in Luz's head as she approached the sword and stuck her right hand out to grip the hilt.
"Luz. I don't think that's a good idea," King warned, looking around the room they were in. He felt like they were trespassing on sacred ground...that's about to be messed with.
"It's okay, King. Something is telling me to release the sword," Luz said with a surefire confidence and relief.
"Okay. Just be careful," King commented as he took up the rear and eyed the way they came in to make sure they weren't being stalked.
"Moment of truth," Luz says as she grabbed the hilt of the sword, she began struggling to life it up out of its resting place. "Wow, your heavy," she commented as she tried pulling harder, in which her eyes closed shut and her teeth with clamped tight as she continued to pull.
"Luz, wait...," King shouted, thinking this was a bad idea that was about to go too far.
"Got it," she shouts as she pulled the blade part out of the holder and free from the holder. Too late.
LUZ HAS ACQUIRED
REBELLION
"Wow! Talk about a 'Sword in the Stone' moment," she said as an extra podium for a extra set of weapons erected out of the ground, next to where Rebellion was, in front of the new sword holder.
"I feel like the Queen of England right now. No, even better, I feel like Azura...but instead of a staff, I get a sword. A really, big sword," she says with a triumphant smile on her face as she held Rebellion up.
However, while Luz was enjoying her moment of triumph, the skull part of the sword (just above the hilt) begins to shift its facial expression from dormant to awakened before going back to dormant. The skull sports a look of menacing anger. Something you would see a predator have, complete with a set of dim, yet red, demonic eyes briefly before it goes to 'sleep' again, feigning dormancy.
Luz doesn't know that the sword is sentient, and as she is holding the sword up, she slowly feels the full weight of the sword within her outstretched arm and it slowly slips through her sweaty, shaky palm and she quickly catches the massive sword in both hands before it could hit the ground. The sudden catch forces Luz off balance to trip over her feet and onto the ground. She quickly calms down and wipes some sweat from her forehead. "Whew. What a workout," Luz comments as a she takes a breather. Putting her right hand right over the skull's mouth without care or noticing the weapon she has in her possession.
That is until the skull's eyes light up with a faint, red glow in the form of narrow eyes, slowly morphing the face of the skull from dormant to awaken again. It sensed the blood of a kindred spirit holding its face. The blood of a worthy 'successor' to the Sparda lineage.
"...You are...not worthy...to wield me...," the raspy, cryptic voice said again in Luz's head.
"What? Again? Who said that," Luz asked as she looked around.
"I didn't say anything," King answered, looking her way.
And by feeling the 'unworthy' hand of the individual on its face, it went into defensive mode. Before Luz could react or notice the Rebellion sword was "alive," the sword's skull's jaw and mouth moved like a viper in the grass and bit Luz's right hand like a cobra bite. The top set of teeth from Rebellion pierced right through the top of Luz's palm while the lower set maintained a firm grip on her hand like it was caught in an rabid animal's jaw.
"AH," Luz shouts as she feels the instant surprise of pain shoot through her arm and up to her head as she tried to move her captured hand unsuccessfully out of the trap, but Luz kept pulling to try and lesson the pain until finally after nearly 20 long seconds of her hand being punctured, Rebellion's mouth opens up just enough for Luz to wiggle her hand free and puts some distance away from sword.
"Luz! Are you okay," King asked as Luz began assessing her first wound of the day.
"Yeah, just a scratch," she answered, checking her wound over to see her skin was compromised, but there was no blood dripping out...yet. Letting her sigh in relief of her first "injury" for the day.
But what Luz didn't know about Rebellion was that she just received a small blood-transfusion within the mouth and teeth of Rebellion. The blood...was the blood of Sparda. Dante's blood. A fail-safe. A last ditch effort/measure that if things would get eventually bad, demon-wise for the Boiling Isles and he wasn't around anymore, this was the endgame. A new generation of Sparda to rise...even if they weren't part of the family...
"I wonder where the other swords are, because in the book, ALL 3 swords of the Dark Knight Sparda are needed to make the seal continuously work," King said as he looked around the deserted room and then his vision finally landing on Luz, who was cautiously practicing with her newest weapon by swinging the sword around with some sword thrusts every now and then.
"Luz, we need to find those other swords ASAP. Without the other swords, the seal will never be at full strength and other demons sealed deeper within the underworld will come out and plague the Boiling Isles, wave by wave until all three of them are put back in their respective holders to bring the seal back up and stop the demons from coming through and that's if the swords are back BEFORE the bigger and badder demons in the deeper pits of the Underworld get free...and that's a BIG if," King commented with worry.
"Wow, talk about an adventure," she said with a exited tone. "We'll have a BIG to-do list to fill out once we're done here."
"Hey, Luz! Check these out," King shouted to call Luz over to the new pedestal that arose from the ground. When Luz came over she saw King climb up onto the pedestal and saw two new reasons why this adventure is going to get even crazy.
"Whoa, momma," Luz said with sparkles in her eyes as she saw 2 handguns; a silver-white gun pointing to the left while below it, an exact copy of the first gun except it was blackish-brown gun and it was pointing to the right.
All Luz could do was stare at the two handguns that laid on the podium with excitement building up like a tea kettle on a lit stove.
She slowly picked up the white gun first with her right hand to get a feel for it. It was moderately heavy when it came to weight before picking up the black gun in her left hand. She did a once over and saw the same signature for both guns' names as if they were part of the same set.
LUZ HAS ACQUIRED
EBONY AND IVORY
"Ebony and Ivory, huh? A pair of good names for a pair of good weapons," Luz commented as she asked as she looked both guns over.
"Ebony and Ivory? Why are they named like that," King asked as he came over to get a better look.
"I don't know, but we'll worry about that later. Right now, let's get out of here before we get some unwelcome company.
Before they would turn away from the stands and head back in the way they came in, King eyed an envelope on the floor where Rebellion was.
"Hey, Luz! I think we almost missed something," King said over his back, getting her attention as he picked up the envelope and placed it in Luz's hands for review.
"Huh? A letter," Luz asked as she opened the envelope and sure enough, it was a letter. It read:
"Hi,"
"To whom it may concern, if you have found this note, then congratulations, because you have unearthed a long forgotten artifact that is key to the survival of the Boiling Isles!"
Luz gapes at the first sentence...in happiness.
"However, you will be unequipped to handle the risks, lifestyle, responsibility and popularity that comes with this sword dubbed, "REBELLION."
Luz sports a curious look on her face. How bad can this be?
"Now Aye betcha ya probably have questions about the current situation AND how important your role in all of this would be, well, will be soon. But don't worry, I'll be right there with ya. Nearly every step of the way."
P.S. - "Fair Warning. By removing Rebellion (if its not the LAST sword down there) from its resting place, the seal preventing the demons from the Underworld will...eh...slowly weaken to the point that demons will straight up come out and attack everyone, everything and/or anything, living or not, in the Boiling Isles. How long will it be? Beats me, but it will be sooner rather than later."
Luz continues to gape at the previous sentence and her face immediately turns from happiness to fear.
P.P.S. - "So in other words, make haste and get your ass over here to my shop, ".45 Caliber Works" and suit up for the worst case scenario, because nothing good will come out of this hole you may or may not have inadvertently opened up. Trust me."
Sincerely,
N.G.
"Oh, boy," Luz commented with worry as she finished reading the letter. "We're in the thick of it now," she says in her head.
"Uh...Luz," I think it's time we make tracks and leave this place," King suggested, feeling as if the duo had overstayed their welcome.
"Right, King. First, let's get out of here. Then, we're going to ask Eda about this, so she can help us find this "NG" at this shop.
Next, let's prepare for the Underworld Invasion of a lifetime.
[Mission 1: Reawakening]
[COMPLETED]
[Luz's Arsenal. (So far...)]
*Rebellion - Luz's signature sword. Originally, Dante's hand-me-down from his father, Sparda and one of the key swords of maintaining the seal to the Underworld. It is the ultimate demon-slaying melee weapon and the most obvious choice to cut down demons.
*Ebony and Ivory - Twin dual handguns that have unlimited ammo (via magic or mana). Great for pest control situations to keep things at a respective distance like giant spiders, roaches, and yes, even flying demons.
Also, I'm giving Luz a new ability: Devil Sense
Similar to how Sam Porter senses/reacts around BTs in "Death Stranding," Luz can 'detect' the presence of devils/demons via the Sealed Doors (or Barriers) before the demons emerge out of the ground or portals, which is good for getting her friends to safety before they get caught in the middle of her fights...especially the bosses.
And don't worry, Luz will deal with that Shadow in the future, cause demons ALWAYS come back for more.
Until next time, folks. And stay safe.
