It's the freaking New Year, baby and its time for a new chapter! Here we go!
[Journal Entry #2
["King and I made it back to the Owl House safe and sound. But now, it was time to bring Eda in on this. Because the very idea of the Boiling Isles being taken over by the Underworld seems kind of too much for someone to handle...at least, that's what the letter said."]
["Now Eda, King and I are thinking of ways on how to move forward. Eda clearly knows what's going on, but her memory got messed up after she got cursed. But on the plus side, she may not be able to remember who cursed her, but she does remember the people she does business with."]
["So the real question is: who does she remember from her past exploits that can help us in this situation?]
...Mission 3: Getting To Know The "Demonic" You...
...Early In The Next Morning...
Luz was sitting on the couch watching Eda, who was pacing back and forth with the letter in her right hand. The letter that Luz and King had recovered their "mission" yesterday in her hand.
After reading the contents (after who knows how many times?), Eda stopped mid-step in her tracks and let out a big huff of uncertainty scratching her nails against her face to show off her wrinkles and her anxiety for what was going through her head. And after looking at the initials, "N.G.," hopefully for the last time, to tell Luz what their situation was and what they needed to do next...
"Alright, kid. I've been looking into this letter you brought back from your little previous adventure within that forbidden sunken temple and its been giving me a headache ever since I first read this thing for the first time," she said as she brought her open left hand to her forehead to calm her nerve.
"Apparently, if my memory is still good as it once was, I ONLY know one person in all of the Boiling Isles with those same initials in that letter who also owns a certain shop with that name," she commented, pointing to the letter with emphasis, letting Luz know this wasn't a laughing matter.
"Really," Luz answered with a giddy smile.
"Yeah. It's a blacksmith/artisan weapons shop that deals with "underground" problems.
"Problems that the Emperor's Covenant doesn't deal with...unless...its serious.
"Yep. She does weapon work for the demon hunters. People who are armed with special and specific weapons to capture or kill their targets. But judging by what you've stumbled upon, I think you've graduated yourself above demon hunter status to devil hunter," Eda commented with a hint of appreciation to her pupil.
"What's the difference," Luz asked.
"Doesn't matter," Eda answered simply.
"Nell Goldstein. The one of the best blacksmiths in all of the Boiling Isles. She made weapons I've never seen before and she may have some weapons made specifically for you, if you were to show her this letter," Eda explained as she flicked the letter off of her palm and let it free flow all the way over to Luz with a gentle breeze.
...At .45 Caliber...
"Ello, Sugah. What can I do you for," the cashier asked behind the counter. Her back was turned and her face was buried behind a curtain, leading into the back. Luz could tell it was a female voice.
"Whoa! Nice buns," Luz commented with surprise and a faint blush at the rear and mid-rif abdomen that was exposed on her side.
"Ey, focus! What do you want," the voice said sternly, not wanting to deal with a pervert this early in the morning.
"Sorry. I'm looking for someone with the initials, "N.G."
"Who wants to know, sugah," the voice asked sweetly, but the thick curtain was obscuring her voice.
She places the letter on the table and brings out Rebellion with Ebony and Ivory visible in her pockets.
"These," Luz answered as she brought out the letter she found in the sunken tower and place it on the counter, along with Rebellion that she brought out from its sheath and put it on the counter as well. The sound of metal meeting counter was enough to make the cashier lift her body up and out of the curtain to only be met with a scared look in her eye.
"HOLY CHALAPA," the girl said as she saw the all too familiar sword of Rebellion and the twin handguns. Her sudden surprise was enough to let Luz finally got a good look at the girl behind the counter.
The female cashier behind the counter has an attractive figure and light-tan skin. She has black, wavy, waist-length hair which she keeps tied in a ponytail. She wears a plaited hairband and red-rimmed glasses. She had several tattoos on her body. Her outfit consists of a white tank top showing her midriff covered with a dark-yellow sleeveless jacket that resembles welding cape sleeve. She wears blue denim shorts with a brown worker belt which she tucks a pair of heavy red heatproof gloves into one side of, with a pocketed tool belt slung on the other side, stabilized with a thigh strap. She also wears a pair of brown leather cowgirl boots with embossed patterning and tongue straps which appear to be decorated with pistol cartridges.
"Hi," Luz waved back and forth, trying to calm the cashier down. "And...your ears? Are you human? Like me?"
"Yeah, I am. But nobody outside this shop needs to know," the girl answered before going back to Rebellion. "Anyway, Sweet Titan of the Boiling Isles! Do you know what this is," the counter girl asked in shock.
"Yeah, King and Eda told me about it. This is Rebellion. One of the 3 Legendary Swords of the infamous Demonic Dark Knight, Sparda AND 1/3 of the 3 'keys' needed to maintain a demonic seal that prevents otherworldly demons from invading and threatening the safety and/or sanctity of the Boiling Isles as a whole. Am I right," she summarized plainly at the girl, sported a stunned look of bewilderment yet again.
"Good answer. Wait a tick? You know Eda? The infamous Owl Lady? And a King? Who are you," the girl readjusted her glasses as she looked Luz up, down and all over.
"Hold on. Yeah, I know Eda. But not a King per say, just someone called "King." I'm Luz Noceda and apparently, the new "owner" of Rebellion," she answered truthfully. "And the situation I'm in the middle of is kind of...serious," she commented, tapping the letter on the counter, forcing the girl to open it up and read its contents.
"Well, I'ma Nicoletta Goldstein. But you can call me Nico and...damn. Your right. This IS serious. But something's not right. Even though these are my initials, I didn't leave this message for you," she said in worried tone.
"Well, I found it in the Sunken Tower of Temi-ni-gru out in the mountain region of the Isles," Luz commented, hoping she got the name corrected, nearly making Nico go ghostly pale.
"YOU WHAT," Nico shouted as she immediately puts her hands over Luz's mouth to make sure she heard that name right.
"Tell me everything, kid. I need to know all the details," Nico asks, feeling interested in the coincidences thus far.
...After Luz told Nico about her and King's adventure into the tower and acquiring Dante's sword and firearms...
"And that's what happened," Luz concluded as Nico had a mind-blown look on her face as her she started piecing some things together.
"But nobody has been able to find that place for over a generation now and for you to find this letter. It's a miracle. And you know what? That's the last thing I heard my grandmother say before she left me and mother. Finding that tower before I never saw her again," Nico said as her face sported a sad frown.
"I'm sorry. Did I touch a sensitive topic," Luz asked, not trying to sound hurtful.
*Sigh* "No, it's just. My grandmother was called the ".45 Caliber Virtuoso"... A Legendary gunsmith. I hope to be like her someday. An artist, and a lethal artisan at that. May she rest in peace for all the good projects she's brought into the world," Nico commented in a possessed and dazed tone as she eyed a specific pistol modified by her grandmother, the very first pistol Nell ever made, plastered on a plaque hung above the shop's entrance. "And for you to come here with this letter, makes me think its my time to honor my grandmother's legacy and step up to help you on your adventure in protecting Bonesborough and the rest of the Boiling Isles from the incoming assault of demons.
"Well, I take it you are starting to see how Dante lives his life," Nico said with a smile. "In fact, I actually feel like the luckiest artisan alive because I'm going to be taking care of Dante's pseudo blood-transfused daughter."
"Well, I already have a someone teaching me how to be a witch, so you don't need to teach me much...," Luz began, which made Nico sport a frown." ...Except maybe how to be an artisan and maybe...I guess...you could upgrade my weapons when I come by every now and then," Luz continued with a growing smile.
"Great! Ya'll can call me "Aunty" Nico ONLY when we're alone like right now. I've got a reputation to keep up," she said cheerfully in a serious tone.
"You got it, Aunty," Luz said with small giggle as Nico could positively only think of one word to describe Luz, "adorkable."
"I feel so happy right now. But now, its time," Nico began as she walked around from the counter and onto Luz's side.
"To get you geared up, honey. If you are gonna go out there, slaying demons left and right. You are gonna needs some upgrades to your weapons," Nico stated as she shut the door to the shop and flip the sign to "CLOSED."
"Give ol' Rebellion, Ebony and Ivory to me," she requested as Luz handed the huge sword over to her as well as the two firearms. And since Luz didn't have a holder for it yet, she accidentally brought her Cerberus num-chucks from her back pocket, the weapon itself was making her bottom cold, yet, she was thankful nobody pranked by putting ice in her shorts.
"OMG, you got Cerberus Num-chuks too? Wow, you work fast," Nico said as she looked over the weapons Luz had so far.
"Ya followin' in Dante's footsteps already. You'll be a Sparda before you know it, kid, because FYI, Dante told me once upon a time this Devil-Arm was the first one he ever gotten. No joke," Nico commented as Luz stood there froze before looking at the frosty weapon before Nico took the icy weapon as well as she headed back behind the counter.
"Anyway, follow me to my forge in the back," she requested as Luz followed behind the counter and behind the cloaked backroom.
"This is where the magic happens, kid," Nico said as they went further into the back, passing several rooms with small forges for different projects in progress from brooms, wands, magic items, staves, weapons, etc., even armor. Until they made it to a big room with an even bigger forge in the back, possibly for bigger projects with longer waiting periods. Upon entering, Luz eyes a statue of interest on a nearby shelf. It bears the likeness of the omniscient god of time and space, which resembles a lioness-headed woman holding an hourglass.
"Behold...The Divinity Statue," Nico announces as she made herself comfortable and got to work upgrading the three weapons Luz had on her, starting with Rebellion as Luz eyed the statue continuously as the hourglass itself keep growing brighter and dimmer every few seconds like a candle's heartbeat.
"According to legend, if it is offered the "blood of demons", it will bestow and empower you with the "ancient ways of war." And with what's coming, you may need to appease it quite a lot," Nico commented as she gave Rebellion some heat and started hammering harder in the background to improve the edges on Rebellion.
"Whoa," Luz says as she could stare at the statue for hours and not move unless someone pulled her out of her trance.
While Nico working was working on the upgrades, she decided to give Luz some extra piece of knowledge about the Boiling Isles and the Underworld.
"Yo, kid! Want some advice," Nico asked as Luz reacted and looked away from the statue and looked in Nico's direction.
"Apparently, I need all the advice I can get while dealing with these demons," Luz admitted as she went back to staring at the statue.
"Tell me, Luz. What do you want to know? About this demon hunting business," Nico asked as she dumped Rebellion into some water to cool it down. And speaking of cooling down, she started looking at Cerberus for any flaws within the icy prongs.
"Everything," Luz answered as Nico eyed the new up and coming devil hunter as Luz looked in her direction in silence after she answered.
"Well, to be frank with ya, it all started with Sparda really and where he came from," Nico summarized as she began to tell the story from her perspective.
"Ooooh. Do tell," Luz said with a guilty smile as she pops a squat on one of the open stool seats that were vacant in the room.
"Legend tells that he escaped the Underworld and then sealed it behind him, right," Nico commented as Luz nodded her head.
"Well, get this. It all starts with Limbo. Limbo is the literal realm on the edge of Hell/Underworld. These demons are gonna start coming up from everywhere and anywhere down under (from well, the Underworld) and making their way into Limbo. From Limbo, they can observe humans without detection, excluding certain religious locations or magical relics, but that hasn't stopped them yet. However, they can attack without warning by phasing through the barriers of Limbo and coming up through the ground by breaking down small barriers within Limbo and creating their own barriers on the flip-side here, which is how they trap their victims, namely you.
"For example, when you fought that Cerberus did it feel like you couldn't run away if things were looking bad for you," Nico asked as she put Cerberus down and started looking at Ebony and Ivory.
"Yeah, now that you mention it, exactly like that," Luz deduced as she began to remember her fight with the three-headed-dog yesterday.
"The demons can see us, but they can't touch us unless they come out of Limbo and into the open of world," Nico explained to Luz, who was shocked at that theory as she slowly looked around, paranoid.
"Don't worry, this place is magical sealed. The demons can see us...unless we go outside," Nico answered.
"Crap," Luz answered.
"But be careful when it comes to dealing with groups of demons. One by one, yes in a group of maybe 5 at most. But in a general scenario, it's rare to see groups of them at a time, so be careful when dealing with like a horde of demons because you'll see various types of various demons and when they come at you, all at once, the only thing that will come to your mind is survival. But when you feel like you are about to be overwhelmed, just make the experience look stylishly cool because you WILL have an audience," Nico warned Luz as she sported a confused look on her face...until she thought about it and repeated the knowledge that was given to her.
"So, on one hand, dimensional phasing and teleportation gates for demons to sneak attack me? Got it," Luz finalized with hint of dread. "However, on the other, looking cool while fighting off and nearly dying at the hands of numerous demons in one wave or so. Also, got it," she added with a more cheerful tone.
"Good. Glad you are caught up to speed. Anyway, your weapons are done and done. Ready to be used on foolish demon that gets in your way," Nico says as she says a small prayer. "With the power of this Divinity Statue, may you give these weapons the power they need to defeat Sparda's foes and give peace to the Boiling Isles. Ah men," she says with a solemn head bow with Luz joining her before both raised their heads and Nico handed Luz her weapons back. When she gives her Ebony and Ivory back, Nico points to the hilt of Ebony and tells Luz... "Just between us, Luz, that's ma grandmother!"
Luz nearly did a double-take when the artisan said that then looked at the hilt, then back at Nico.
"I almost don't see it," Luz said honestly as she was still in shock at that thought of her grandmother's face on one of the guns she's has been using for awhile now.
"Yeah. People say I get my looks from my daddy. I don't like to talk about him. Bad blood in the family," Nico commented with a frown and scowling look on her face as she looked away from Luz in a hint of rage and resentment.
"Daddy issues? Join the club," Luz commented with a smile as she gave Nico a handshake, and then straight up came in for hug that Nico happily returned.
"Ahhh. Membership accepted," Luz added with a sigh and a heart-warming smile.
"Oh! Before I forget...," Nico said in surprise as she ran back into another room in the shop and brought out some "gifts" for Luz.
"Whoa," Luz muttered in shock at what Nico laid on the nearby table.
"I know, right? Before Dante left, he gave a few of his his Devil Arms to me, but the rest are lost in the wind, so you'll have to find some new ones to refill your arsenal," Nico said with a disappointed tone.
"Figures," Luz says with a eye roll. Nothing is never that easy when it comes to weapons.
"But I can give you these. Take 'em. Their your's. Apparently, by blood right," Nico added as she gave Luz her first gift.
"This is a "Magic Satchel," Nico said as she held the bag up, looking like a generic backpack that you could get at a store. "Once you put it on your back, it camouflages, so nobody can see it. And it acts as a mobile weapons holder for your Devil Arms. Go ahead! Put a weapon in the pack.
Luz first puts in Rebellion to test the size quality of the satchel, it passed. She put the Cerberus in next to see if it would affect the temperature of the backpack itself, she didn't feel chilly at all.
"Okay, this is awesome," Luz says with a guilty smile.
"Yep, and all you have to do to bring the weapon of your choice back out is to say its name as you put your hand back into the satchel," Nico instructed.
Luz fully puts on the backpack and decides to test it out. She reaches her right hand into the pack. "Cerberus," she says and grabs the handle of the ice Devil Arm as if someone passed it to her from inside the backpack, shocking Luz further.
"Cool, huh? No pun intended for the 'chucks, but for the satchel, I mean. It defies the laws of time and space as well as size. You can fit numerous weapons in here and it won't feel any heavier when you walk or run around. All you have to do is say the name of the weapon or mental visualize the weapon and it will come out when you put your hand in to the satchel. Also, like right now, if you wear the satchel like a book bag, it will be harder for enemies to guess what weapon you may pull out to fight with. Furthermore, it will act as a weapon holster for whichever weapon you have in hand. All you have to do is place the weapon on your back and it stays firmly on your back until you use it again or put it back into the satchel," Nico commented.
"Great," Luz as she put Cerberus back into her satchel.
"Next is this," Nico said as she presented a noticeably easy firearm that Luz has seen too many times in movies and TV. Let's be honest here, this firearm was a no-brainer.
"A Shotgun!? How did you even get this," Luz asked in shock, yet excitement as she saw Nico checked the barrels for any leftover ammunition.
"Dante gave it to me as a keepsake when he 'retired' out of the devil hunting business. But I've modified it since it was given to me. Trust me. Your gonna need it, honey," Nico said as she gave the double-barrel shotgun to Luz, who felt the weight of the firearm with a confused look.
"Uhm, aren't you going to need this. You know, if some bad people come knocking around your place, looking for trouble," Luz suggested as she eyed the weapon then back to Nico.
"Don't worry, honey. I've got like 20 different weapons designed to work only for me, so if someone was to get their hands on any of them, it would just be eye candy worth nothing but their weight in misery. Besides, this Shotgun is magical. If you concentrate hard enough, you can store mana/magic into the barrels and when you got a good shot, pull the trigger and prepare for the kickback. And when you get some experience using it, you could probably use it with one hand," Nico commented as Luz could see herself with some extra muscle carrying a shotgun in her satchel.
"Last but not least, are these," Nico said as Luz went into full nerd mode freak out mode.
"HOLY-," Luz shouted, bringing her hands to her hair.
"Shhh," Nico said to keep her voice down.
"Allow me to introduce you to...Ifrit," Nico said as she showed Luz some gauntlets, shoulder-guards and greaves
"Like a elite-level fire demon," Luz asked her eye shrunk with nervousness as she eyed the pieces of the fire-based Devil Arm in front of her.
"Exactly. This weapon carries the power of a fire elemental demon and its attacks are charged with fire, and not just any kind of fire, hellfire, far more intense than any natural source of flame. Ifrit can only be wielded by one strong enough to resist its demonic fiery nature.
As put on the shoulder guards and the boots, she definitely felt weighed down, but once she put on the gauntlets, she felt the complete set of the Devil Arm kick in. She began to feel hot. Like someone just lit a fire in her heart and she wanted to fight like in a wrestling or boxing arena. She felt lighter and faster on her feet as she dodged side to side before throw a flurry of punches into the air in front of her as if she was punching a invisible opponent before switching it up with her feet, break dancing like a spinning top on the floor and even doing a few jump kicks, but not too high, so she couldn't damage the ceiling to the shop.
"I feel like a boxer, a kick-boxer. Even a karate fighter," Luz says in amazement at her ability to fight like a professional choreographer as she heard Nico clapping her hands in amazement at Luz's ability to handle the new Devil Arms given to her as if she was already a professional at using them already.
"These are great gifts, Nico. I will use them with pride to protect the innocent and punish wicked and evil that will soon plague the Boiling Isles," Luz said with a mock salute and a bow. "I won't let you down, Nico."
"Please, kid. It's not about me. It's about the Boiling Isles. If you can't stop what's coming, then you might as well quit now and run away to the human world BEFORE the demons take over the Boiling Isles and get the means to travel to the human world after you and slowly invade it from here. No, pressure though," Nico said, making Luz sport an uncertain face.
"Uhhh...," Luz said, now feeling the full weight of the "job" that has been placed upon her shoulders.
"You know I'm joking right," Nico commented making Luz sigh in relief.
"You won't fail kid because you ARE a Sparda. Now you have to go show the Boiling Isles that you are one. And be careful, honey. With that blood of Sparda, you could also develop personality changes that may have you acting and thinking like Dante. And believe me, Dante had a care-free lifestyle, but was serious in his work. So keep that in mind when you talk to people, both good and bad," Nico pointed out.
"I guess that explains why I feel like talking to myself in third person within my head when I want to mock somebody or blurt something out without thinking first," Luz said as she heads out the exit and flips the sign in the window back to "OPEN."
"Ah, ya. I can already tell that this is going to be party for everyone here in the Boiling Isles to enjoy," Nico said as she smirked at all of the possible scenarios of Luz getting into so much trouble while dealing with each wave of demons.
"Oh, well. Back to work," she chimed as she waited for the next customer to come in.
LUZ HAS ACQUIRED:
THE MAGIC SATCHEL
THE SHOTGUN
IFRIT
...Later...
...Back At Owl House...
[KICK]
"OW," Hooty said as his 'face' was nearly kicked in by Luz's shoe, leaving a faint shoe print on the door frame.
"I'm back," Luz announced, kicking the door closed, with Hooty shouted "OW" again from outside.
"How did it go," Eda asked.
"Well, good news and bad news," Luz said as she hopped onto the middle seat cushion.
"What's the good news...," King asked, trying to stay positive.
"I found the shop and someone with those initials from the letter. Nicoletta Goldstein. Nico, for short...," Luz answered.
"Okay, so what's the problem...," Eda asked, feeling interested.
"Well, this leads to the bad news...the person were looking for was her grandmother, Nell Goldstein...," Luz answered and before the others could comment, she continued to drop the information ball on their present situation. "...who went missing just when the seal for the Underworld started to weaken when the first sword was removed and stolen from its resting place."
"Great," Eda said, putting a palm to her forehead.
"But on the plus side, I've got some new weapons," Luz announced as she hopped off of the sofa and onto the floor with a squat as she pulled off her "invisible" satchel from around her back and began taking the Devil Arms out to inspect them for Nico's handiwork.
"She hooked you up with new weapons for dispatching demons? Jeez, you are getting spoiled kid," Eda said with a grin and a hint of jealously. Slightly wishing she had those weapons.
"Maybe for good reason. Now, let's review my ever-growing collection...within my newly acquired Magic Satchel, I have...," Luz said with a smile as she grabs her first Devil Arm from the satchel as King came over to get a better look at what weapons Luz has added to her collection after visiting Nico.
"Rebellion," Luz said as she pull the sword out of the satchel before placing it onto the carpet floor.
"Cerberus," Luz said as she gave the nunchaku a swirl on its ring before putting them to the ground.
"And Ifrit," Luz said pulling out the gauntlets, but leaving the shoulder guards and boots in satchel.
"Jeez, Luz. Are going to war," King asked as he tried to put his paw on one of the Ifrit gauntlet, which made his paw start smoking.
"Yeow," King said as he removed his hand and blew on his paw to cool it down.
"Careful, King. These weapons are imbued with power of demons with elemental properties," Luz said with a smirk as King was speechless as he looked at the Devil Arm he just touched, that glowed a faint red-orange hue like it was outlined with fire, forcing a silent King to back away from the set of gauntlets.
"And these are my firearms," Luz said as she quickly put her Devil Arms.
"This is the Shotgun Nico gave me. Don't touch," Luz said as she eyed Eda, who had that insidious look in her eye for a get rich quick scheme.
"And of course, Ebony and Ivory," Luz said as she pulled out the two hand guns from her handgun holster as she looked them over for any modifications from Nico.
"What are those exactly," Eda asked.
"These things Eda are weapons are...well...'magical' firearms that I recovered from the sunken tower along with the sword, Rebellion," Luz answered.
"Ebony and Ivory? Why are they named like that," King asked as he stared at the firearms.
"In the human world, their names originated from a song...or was it from an instrument? Like a piano," Luz thought with her memory all over the place.
"Oooh. Maybe it was both," King added, before pulling himself fully onto the couch with a look of exhaustion.
"Yeah, your right, King. It was both (or one after the other) and there are other reasons behind their origins too. Both colors are needed to play a piano, an instrument from the human world because there are ebony and ivory keys on the piano," Luz said as she started drawing a keyboard on some paper. "Playing the piano is similar to typing on a computer, also something else from the human world but not for music.
"So, naturally given the way a piano is setup, music-wise, you can't play a song on the piano with just ebony or ivory keys, unless the notes on the sheet music tell you to play just ebony or ivory keys throughout the song. In other words, you have to use BOTH colored keys in order to play both sets of notes to achieve harmony with the piece of music. Otherwise, you won't be playing the instrument correctly and the song will come off as incomplete and won't sound right," Luz explained as she gripped both handguns and looked over their designs.
"Some say there's a deeper meaning to Ebony and Ivory about racial equality on a human level. It may go deeper than that, but it could be anyone's guess," Luz said in uncertainty as Eda hung her head to the side.
"Kind of reminds me of the "relationship" between my sister and I. The problem is that me and her don't get along anymore than Ebony and Ivory here do," Eda said in her head while looking at the dual handguns.
"Anyway, given that you are the only human on the Boiling Isles that statement may crisscross with lot of logic from the inhabitants here," Eda pointed out, making Luz sigh in grief of once again being reminded that she is one of the only confirmed humans in the Boiling Isles (but Eda doesn't need to know that Nico is human, at least not yet).
"So, I say use those guns of your's only if necessary. Like you know, in life or instant death situations," Eda said, trying to make sure of it that Luz uses "responsibility over recklessness" with her new toys.
"Believe me, Eda. These are ONLY for an emergency, NOT for showing off. Like dealing with feral demons or the non-confrontation type of demons. The demons who like to keep their distance or run away a lot before coming in for the strike," Luz said as she holstered the two handguns in her thigh holsters on opposite sides of her pants' legs.
"Like me," King said with glee as he struck a non-threatening pose as if he was demon ready to attack Luz. The human could only shake her head in amusement as she pet King's head.
"Respectfully, King. You're too cute to be a feral demon, not like the ones in your book. Beside, you know as well as I do that there are feral demons from the Underworld that are much WORST and DANGEROUS than you. Not to mention, bigger," she added with care, not trying to mock the 'King' of all demons," Luz says with a small smile.
But King could only fume in denial. "Killjoy," King mutters under his breath.
"Anyway, kiddo. It's time to start your training follow me to the beach. It's time to train you on how to be resourceful...," Eda says as Luz smiles brightly about being offered training.
"Why do I have that feeling that this "training" is going to end very badly," Luz mutters in her head as she follows Eda out the front door with King behind them.
[Mission 3: Getting To Know The "Demonic" You]
[COMPLETED]
[Luz's Arsenal. (So far...)]
*The Magic Satchel - Not considered a weapon, per say. But more of a backpack...with an infinite storage space to carry nearly limitless weapons, consumables and possibly, people over far distances without feeling heavy no matter whatever or whoever's in it.
*Rebellion - Luz's signature sword. Originally, Dante's hand-me-down from his father, Sparda and one of the key swords of maintaining the seal to the Underworld. It is the ultimate demon-slaying melee weapon and the most obvious choice to cut down demons.
*Ebony and Ivory - Twin dual handguns that have unlimited ammo. Great for pest control situations to keep things at a respective distance like giant spiders, roaches, even annoying flying demons.
*Cerberus - A 3-pronged ice elemental nunchaku weapon with that can dish out multiple strikes in a short time span, however, each strike is low in power and can slow down the movement of enemies with enough hits and can be used to block heavy sword attacks.
*Shotgun - It may not have the same rapid fire speed as Ebony and Ivory, but having a Shotgun is necessary for creating some "immediate breathing room." Should Luz feel overwhelmed, firing a couple of shells into a horde will help keep the demons away long enough for her to fallback and regroup into the distance or even stun them before they try to attack, if possible.
*The "Ifrit" (or the "GIG" (Gilgamesh Ifrit Gauntlets)) - This weapon carries the spirit of an Ifrit (or the power of one); an elite fire-elemental demon and when Luz attacks, her attacks are charged with magical hellfire, far more intense than any natural source of flame. Like Alastor, Ifrit can only be wielded by one strong enough to resist its demonic natural element. (*I combined two separate versions of the same weapon (from DMC1 and DMC4 or DMC5 (Balrog)) to give Luz some boxing and kick-boxing practice with a cooler nickname when in combat.)
I know. I know. No action in this chapter, but now the stage is being set and Luz has her work cut out for her. But at least she made a new friend/inventor to help her deal with these demons.
And yes, I've altered the history of Nico for this story and maybe a few other characters, if necessary.
