A/N: okay first of all, thank you for all the reviews! it made me excited to see people reading my story and even wanting more! i'm trying to get a little better at least with writing, so i'll try my best. along with that, i have been busy with schoolwork and such but once the holidays come around i should be able to update more and more (if this story takes that long to finish), but for right now i will try and post at least once or twice a week. anyways, enjoy the story!

Katara and Aang were peacefully sleeping when they both woke up and jumped out of bed to the sound of glass shattering, they both got in defensive stances and were ready to fight. Aang and Katara scanned the room for any other people, which was somewhat hard since they only had moonlight as their only source of light, Katara saw the broken window and all the glass on the floor, while Aang spotted what looked like a silhouette of a man. Aang quickly shot the man down with an air blast after the man had shot what looked like a small arrow at him and Katara, which he just quickly used his airbending to move out of the way quickly. although Aang had moved out of the way just at the right second to be able to dodge the dart, Katara had not been able paying attention to this little movement the strange man had done however, thus ending up in her getting hit in the arm with what looked like a dart. Aang looked over to Katara with a worried look as soon as he had realized what happened, Katara looked at Aang with sadness in her eyes before collapsing on the ground unconscious.
Aang started crying while watching Katara fall to the ground as he ran over to catch her, he had almost completely forgotten about the intruder in the room as he was focused on Katara and trying to help her, while wrapping his arms protectively around her. as Aang was trying to help Katara, he saw the slightest bit of movement before being shot in the shoulder with a dart just like the one Katara had been shot with moments ago. only seconds after being shot with the dart, Aang fell to the ground and started to fall slightly unconscious as he watched the man walk over to Katara, who was still laying in Aang's arms, and picked her up throwing her over his shoulder and started leaving the room. before completely leaving, the man turned around at the doorway to look at Aang one last time, Aang was crying while watching the man leave with his girlfriend over the man's shoulder "see you later kid" the man said, before spitting on the floor and leaving the room.
Aang cried while falling unconscious on the ground, leaving warm tears to stain his cheeks.
after what felt like forever, Aang woke up to Sokka roughly shaking him awake, "thank spirits your up! i've been trying to wake you up for at least 5 minutes" Sokka told Aang, his voice clearly in relief at his friends awakening. the relief in his eyes soon turned to worry as Sokka looked around the room and finally saw the broken glass on the floor and the broken window, making Sokka turn back to Aang in fear "Aang, wheres Katara?" Sokka asked in a worried tone. "he took her.. right from me! i'm gonna get him!" Aang said as warm tears were streaming down his cheeks, as his eyes briefly started to glow before returning to their usual grey coloring. "woah Aang calm down, who took her?" Sokka asked the young airbender in a surprisingly clam tone as he would usually be flipping out about something like this, "some guy broke into our room and shot us with these dart things.. he shot Katara first and she fell unconscious, i went to help her and he also shot me.. before i knew it he was taking Katara away from me and threw her over his shoulder and walked out.." Aang barely managed to get out through the quiet sobs escaping from his mouth, Sokka was kneeling down next to him with a hand on Aang's shoulder as Aang curled up into a ball on the ground, holding his knees tightly to his chest.
Sokka could clearly see that his sisters kidnapping had taken a great toll on Aang, as he was clearly an emotional reck. Toph who had been mostly quiet the whole time, finally spoke up "when did this all happen Twinkle Toes?" Toph asked, she seemed worried for her missing friend and for her friend who was now an emotional mess. "i'm assuming at around midnight, and seeing how the sun is going to rise soon, i've been out for at least a couple hours." Aang replied to the blind earthbender, still with sadness in his voice. "then what are we waiting for? let's go!" Toph exclaimed as she started running out of the room ready to pick a fight with whoever took her friend, although before Toph could reach the hallway, she felt her boyfriend's hand on her wrist stopping her. "Toph, as much as i love your enthusiasm to find my sister, we need a plan first." Sokka calmly explained to his girlfriend, seeing as how Katara was gone he would have to be the calm one in charge. "but we need to find whoever took Katara! they already got a head start by leaving at midnight, so we have to leave now!" Toph explained to Sokka, clearly also upset about Katara's disappearance.
Sokka just kissed Toph on the cheek to help calm her down which quickly did, "look, i know you want to find Katara and I do too, but first let's at least get all our things and report the break in and kidnapping last night to the Inn owner, then we can leave." Sokka quickly explained so as to not lose the earth benders attention. "but-" Toph was quickly cut off by Sokka who grabbed her hand gently, "we also have to deal with Aang and his emotional mess before we can go anywhere" he said in a somewhat serious and also jokingly tone which made Toph laugh, "alright, let's go fix him then and fix all of this so we can get out of this damn desert, since i can barely feel a thing out here." Toph jokingly saying while taking Sokka's hand and letting him lead her to where Aang was still crying on the floor.
