~Episode Two- Mo Danger, Mo Problems~
Riley walks from behind the sprocket door with her pajamas on and her hair down.
The door closes back as she walked down the steps.
"Dad! I need the broom to clean my room." She calls out.
"It's in the back! If Henry comes then tell him look on the cart in the middle of the floor!" Ray replies.
"Will do!" Riley walks past the tube area and into the back. When she heard the sound of the elevator coming it made her brow raise. "Why is he here so late though?" Riley grabs up the broom and walks back out when the elevator dinged open and the screaming had finally stopped.
Henry gets up with a loud sigh as he was also in his pajamas for the night."Woo!" He shakes his hair out. "Man, he has got to get the elevator fixed."
"Tell me about it." Riley nods.
"Riley!" Henry lets out a scream as he fell back.
Riley laughs and slightly shakes her head as she comes down the steps. "Sorry. I didn't mean to scare you, Henry." She offers her hand to him.
Henry took her hand and lets her help him up, he brushes his clothes off with a sputter. "Pfft! What, me scared?" Riley smirks. "No I was not scared, I'm a tough guy." Her brow raises in question. "Seriously I am!" His voice went high making her smile in amusement, Henry clears his throat and makes it more firm. "I mean, no seriously I am."
Riley slowly nods as she was still amused. "Uh-huh, but what are you doing here?"
"Oh, um Ray triple beeped me. Do you know what he needed?"
"Yeah, it's right over there." Riley point to the cart with a note on it and starts to head back up the set of steps. "I'll be back, I need to get the dustpan for this."
"Kay, thanks." Henry made his way to the cart.
After a couple of minutes, Riley heard the sound of Henry screaming and ran back out to the cave.
"What happened?" Riley questions.
"Nothing." Ray waves it off with a chuckle. "I just scared Henry."
Riley rolls her eyes and comes down. "I told you about giving people small heart attacks."
"Well it no longer works on you." Ray threw a hand up. "Gotta do it to somebody."
Riley puts the broom against the couch. "Not really, you choose to." She walks over to them. "It is a choice."
"Yeah, yeah." Ray sighs.
"Well wait, what am I supposed to do with the old watch you gave me?" Henry looks to Ray for answers.
"Throw it up in the air." He plainly shrugs.
"Why?" Riley asked.
"Suppose to self destruct." Ray says.
"Oh god." Henry threw it in the air.
It beeped twice before going silent on them.
Ray looks at it confused. "Hmm, that's weird it was supposed to-"
The watch quickly explodes..
"Ahhhh!" Henry and Ray scream and hugs Riley for dear life.
Riley raises a brow before giving a slight sigh. "Guys, it's over now."
"Right, sorry Riles." Ray says as him and Henry let go of her. "But Henry, I see your in your pajamas." Ray stated.
"Yeah." Henry gives a duh expression. "It's like midnight and I was up studying for this huge test we have tomorrow. Did you study Riley?"
Riley nods. "Yeah, studying sucks especially when it's something on that."
Ray hums. "What subject is it?"
"Puerto-Rican history." Henry answers.
"Ah, Puerto Rico. Land of the..." Ray trails off.
"Puerto Ricans?" Riley asks.
Ray nods. "Right."
[ Alarm Warning ]
"Uh-oh." Ray went on alert, him and Henry rushed over to the computer. Once Ray hit the button, Gooch appeared on the screen. "What's up Gooch?"
"There's a robbery in progress." He says.
"Where?" Henry asks.
"At the 24-hour antique bottle shop." Gooch replies.
Riley walks up. "You mean Glass from the Past?"
"Aw I like that place, they have nice glass." Henry comments.
"Right." Riley agrees. "I like the cobalt glass."
Henry nods with a chuckle. "That's a cool one, I think-"
"Would you two talk about glass later." Ray stops them, they both put their hands up in defense. "Thank you." He slowly looks back to the computer and gets close so they couldn't hear him. "I-Is it, Glass from the Past Gooch?"
"Affirmative." Gooch nods.
"On it." Ray hits the button to turn it off, he takes out his gum pack and looks back. "Shall we?"
Henry already had his in hand. "Let's blow some bubbles and fight some crime."
Riley smiled at them as they walked past her. The two of them stood next to each other and pops their bubbles, both of their normal clothes changed into their Kid Danger and Captain Man outfits.
Ray nods. "Let's hit it, Kid Danger."
"Fist." Henry says excited.
They bump fist, Riley chuckles at them and picks her broom back up to take to the back.
"As for you kiddo." Ray turns around. "It's midnight, which means it's bedtime."
"I know the drill man." Riley sighs. "Goodnight dad. See you at school Henry." She waves back at him.
Ray smirks and ruffles her hair as she walked past him, Riley giggles and swats his hands off.
"Love you Riles." Ray calls out as he headed to the tubes with Henry.
"Love you too." Riley starts to go behind the door. "Be safe. And don't get Henry killed!"
Ray points with a chuckle. "No promises."
Henry eyes widened. "What?"
"She's joking, were joking." Ray tries to nervously laugh it off.
"No I'm not!" Riley shouts through the closed sprocket door.
Ray sighs. "I forget how good her hearing is sometimes."
Later that night...
Riley was asleep on the couch back in the Man Cave. She did go in the back and sleep for a couple of hours but when Ray didn't come back she had decided to try and stay up and wait for him. In her midst of doing that she had ended up falling back asleep.
Sure her father had his weird moments, but she wouldn't trade him for any dad out there. It was obvious her mother trusted Ray a lot to take care of Riley by himself and he had did just that since she was a little girl. Ray didn't bring up Riley's mother as much as he used to since it had been a while since she left but he always reminded Riley of who her mom was and not to hate or resent her for leaving.
The elevator dings, Ray walks inside with a tired groan and still dressed in his Captain Man outfit.
"Ugh! So much glass." Ray rubs his back. "I need to sleep for a week." He walks past Riley but quickly back tracks when he saw Riley curled up on the couch. "What in the-Riley?" Ray walks over and shakes her shoulder a little. "Riles."
Riley yawns as she opened her tired eyes the best she could. "Oh your back, good."
Ray stoops down in front of her with an amused smile. "Your supposed to be in the back sleep kid. Why are you out here?"
"You were taking to long so I got worried and slept out here." Riley tiredly rubs her eyes, she yawns again. "It's not the first time I did this and somebody has to make sure your bring your Captain butt home."
"That's true bed head." Ray nods with a slight chuckle, Riley smiles and lazily lays her head on his shoulder. "Alright sleepy." He pats the back of her head, Ray picks her up and hits the button on his side so the sprocket door opened. "Lets get you back to sleep."
Riley closes her eyes. "Kk."
The door closes back up when Ray walked behind it...
'The next day, at school'
The next morning, Riley walks in the classroom reading her textbook.
Henry had his chin in his palm as he was occasionally nodding off and was just fighting to stay awake.
Riley almost walked past but stopped when she saw him, her brow raised as Henry just looked a sleepy mess.
"Ah, I really don't wanna do this to you but..." Riley closes up her book and drops it on his desk with a loud slam.
Henry reacts with a jump. "What! What-I wasn't sleeping!"
Riley shakes her head, she sits in the desk in front of him and turns around. "Did you get any sleep last night Henry?"
Henry finally calms down and sighs. "No, me and Ray had to clean up all the glass bottles last night." He sighed.
"Exactly how much glass did you guys break?" Her brow raises.
"Enough to have us in there for hours." Henry says, Riley makes an 'ouch' face. "Yeah. I barely slept at all. Not to mention I didn't study. Which means big F for me." He did little jazz hands. "This day is just the worse." Riley rolls her eyes with a smile and puts both hands on his face to make him look her, eye to eye. Henry went wide eyed from this entire interaction. "Scratch that, it just got better."
"I need you to calm down and wake up, alright?" Riley asks him. "Just think of other things besides sleep or anything close to it."
"Yeah, yeah, whatever you say." Henry continues to stare in her eyes in awe from how blue they were. The same girl he had a crush on for years was now touching him, a couple of weeks ago he could barely say hi to her without looking bad and now here they were.
"Now, you're gonna do good and even if you do fail then she might let you take a makeup one." Riley says. "If she does then I will just help you study."
"Your eyes are so pretty." Henry was still in a daze.
Riley brows furrowed. "What?"
Henry quickly snaps out of it. "I mean, seriously? You would do that for me."
"Yeah." Riley smiles. "Of course I would."
Henry continues to stare at her as a nervous feeling crept in. "Riley, I got something I wanna tell you but you don't have to move your hands. They can stay there."
Riley chuckles at him. "Okay, what is it?"
"I, um." Henry tries to get it out. "I wanted to tell you..."
Charlotte walks in and over to them. "Hey guys." She stops when she saw what was going on. "Uh..."
Riley and Henry both looked at her before back at Riley's hands that were still holding his face. Henry moves as Riley snatched her hands back and quickly turns back around in her seat. Riley coughs and looks off, Henry scratched the back of his head and clears his throat.
"Oh, um hey Charlotte." Henry finally greets her.
Charlotte looks between them. "Um, did I intterupt something here?"
Henry shakes his head. "Nope."
"Not a thing." Riley says right after him.
"You sure?" Charlotte asks.
"Mhm." Henry sits up. "Riley was just trying to keep me awake."
"By holding your face?" Charlotte brow raised.
"It was soothing, okay." Henry tells her in a hushed whisper.
Riley heard this and kept her laugh back with a smile.
"Ohhkay." Charlotte looks off completely confused, she walks back to her seat behind him. "Whatever you say."
After a while; their teacher Ms. Shapen had came in and handed the entire class their test for the morning.
They started taking them as the room had grew quiet for a while. Henry had ended up falling asleep, Riley soon was done hers and looks up to raise her hand but slowly started to take her hand down when she saw her teacher already coming over.
Ms. Shapen goes past Riley to stand behind her and look down at Henry.
Riley turns around in her seat and gives a sympathetic sigh. "Ah man, Henry."
Ms. Shapen put her hands on her hips and continues to stare down at him. "Henry...Henry...Henry?" She said the last one more sternly, Ms. Shapen wets her index finger and sticks it in his ear. "Henry!"
"That's nasty." Riley points.
Henry jumps up holding his ear. "Whoa! What happened?" He felt his ear with a face of disgust and slowly looks up at his teacher. "Did you just give me a wet willy?"
"Mm-hmm, it was real wet." Charlotte says getting a hum in agreement from Riley.
"You slept through your entire test." Ms. Shapen tells him.
Henry holds up the blank paper in shock. "I did?"
Ms. Shapen shook her head and walks towards the front. "You all see this boy? This is what happens when you stay up all night on twitflash and twiddle gram."
"Excuse me, Ms. Shapen?" Jasper raises his hand.
Ms. Shapen turns around annoyed. "What?"
"Can I have a wet willy?" He asked happily.
The whole class and even Ms. Shapen had looked back at him with different grossed out and crazy expressions.
Later that day when school had ended; Charlotte had approached Riley at her locker.
Charlotte taps her shoulder. "Hey Riley."
Riley turns around with a smile. "Hey Charlotte." She closes up her locker and starts to put her glasses back on. "What's up?"
"Whoa, you look nice with your glasses off." Charlotte points out. "Can actually see your eyes."
Riley giggles. "Thanks. I would do it more often but I'm pretty blind without them."
"Can't be pretty if you hit a pole." Charlotte jokes. "But I wanted to see if you wanna walk with me over to Henry's house?"
Riley was a little shocked that she was asking her. "Um, yeah sure."
"You don't wanna go?" Charlotte asks her, now a little confused.
"No I do, it's just." Riley shrugs. "You know usually I see just you three hanging out together or your always leaving with them. I just didn't want to jump into that or start inviting myself over there, I do wanna make sure he is okay after that whole test thing though."
"Please, Henry would have zero problem seeing you at his house." Charlotte waves it off. "We all like having you around which is why I told Henry I would catch him and Jasper later and wait for you to come out of your last class."
Riley smiles. "Wow, thanks. I guess to Henry's we go." She swings her bag over her shoulder.
They start to make their way out the school.
"Hey, where were you and Henry when Jasper party started?" Charlotte asks. "It was kinda weird that you guys arrived together and left together. Are you guys like together?" She smiles and nudges Riley's arm. "Then you were holding his face in class today."
Riley eyes widened. "No, no, no. I'm not saying to ever be with Henry is a bad thing. I'm not saying it's a good thing either but it's just, ugh I don't know how to put any of this. I feel like Henry with the babbling now." She palms her face with a sigh.
Charlotte couldn't help but laugh at her. "It's alright Riley." She pats her back and opens the door for them. "Your secret is safe with me."
Riley drops her hand with a laugh. "Thanks Charlotte."
The two of them had a nice little walk to Henry's house and Riley had to admit it was fun to have another girl to talk to. Ray and Henry were great but sometimes she did need to just talk to another girl her age. It was crazy but her and Charlotte had a lot in common when it came to their like for math and other fun stuff to do and were both pretty techy.
Charlotte and Riley laugh as they walk inside Henry's house together.
"Hey!" Charlotte calls out. "Me and Riley are here."
"Hey." Jasper waves from the couch as he was into a show on TV.
"Hi, and hey Riley." Henry calls out with a yawn.
Riley puts her bag down, she makes her way into the kitchen and over to the island counter where Henry was nodding off for the second time today.
"Henry," Riley reaches over and shakes his arm. "Wake-up."
Henry eyes snap open. "Huh? Oh hey Riley, nice dress." He nods.
"Um Henry." Riley raises a brow. "I'm wearing a jean jacket, jeans, and a t-shirt." Henry sighs as he saw how bad it was getting. "You gotta do something about your sleeping before you hurt yourself."
"Working on it." Henry yawns. "I already had to hear Ms. Shapen yell at me."
"What did she say?" Riley brow raised.
"First it was about me and my test. Then somewhere down the line she got into something about all men being horrible." Henry makes a face, Riley was confused. "Then she started crying."
Riley shakes her head. "We gotta get that woman a man."
Henry couldn't help but chuckle. "Yeah, maybe we should hook her up with Ray." They both slowly looked at each other before laughing. "I would pay to see that."
"Me and you both." Riley wets a napkin at the sink. "This might help wake you up a little."
"Thanks." Henry smiles taking it from her.
"What are we watching?" Charlotte sits down next to Jasper on the couch.
"Natural surgery." Jasper says. "They do surgery, but with no anesthesia."
"No pain killers?" Riley comes and sits on the short part of the couch with interest.
"None, see?" Jasper points the remote to the TV. "That guy's getting a heart bypass."
[ Man On TV Screaming ]
"Hey Henry, come check out this show." Charlotte comes over, her brows knot together when she saw the large mug in his hand. "What's in the mug?"
Henry sat next to Riley on the couch. "Coffee, to keep myself alive." He was about to take a sip.
Charlotte got up takes it away. "No, no, no."
"What? Hey, bring that back." Henry looks back and slumps over the couch.
"You're 13, you can't be drinking this much coffee after school." She headed in the kitchen.
"Charlotte." Henry sighed.
"This mug is comedically large." Charlotte points out.
Henry whines. "But I need it."
"You do not need that much coffee, I agree with Charlotte." Riley nods.
"Thank you, Riley." Charlotte throws a hand up.
"What's the matter with you?" Jasper asks Henry.
"Nothing." Henry shakes his head as he turns back around. "I just got a lot going on."
"Is it your hormones?" Jasper was now more interested to know. Riley and Henry both give him crazy stares. "Is your body changing, too? Have you been having weird dreams?"
"I haven't had any dreams because I'm not getting any sleep." Henry says.
"No but after that, I might be getting some nightmares." Riley sits back.
"I have the same dream all the time." Charlotte says as she came and sat back down.
"What about?" Riley asked.
"It always starts with me getting a horse for my birthday, and then Jasper shows up. Then the horse kicks Jasper in the face." Charlotte nods, Riley and Henry look at her wide eyed.
Jasper slightly laughs "But I end up being okay, right?"
Charlotte gave him a serious look and shakes her head. "No."
"We're home!" Henry's mom called out. "Henry! Come help me, please."
"Henry, come help your mother!" Piper yells.
Henry lazily gets up. "What, what, what?" He walks into the kitchen.
Riley pulls out her phone when she got a message. "Dang it." She puts her phone away. "Forgot I got some stuff to do for my dad. I gotta go." She stands up.
When Riley had stood up it had caught Henry's mom attention.
"Henry, who is that girl?" Mrs. Hart asks him with a grin.
"Oh yeah, you haven't met her." Henry turns back. "Riley, come here for a second." He motioned her over. "I wanna introduce you to my mom."
Riley walks over, she extends her hand. "Hi, it's nice to meet you Mrs. Hart."
Mrs. Hart shook her hand. "You to Riley, wow you are really pretty."
"Thank you." Riley smiles.
"And that over there is my little sister Piper." Henry lazily introduced his little sister.
"Hello Piper." Riley waves. "It's nice to meet you too."
Piper looks from Riley to Henry. "How did you get a girl like that to hang around you?"
Henry slighlty glares at his little sister.
"So are you two dating? How cute and man did you get a real pretty one Henry." Mrs. Hart nudges him. "Because she is gorgeous. Not all girls can pull off glasses."
"And she has ears because she is right here." Henry motions to Riley who was next to him trying to hold back her laugh.
Mrs. Hart makes a face. "Ohhh I get it, sorry. You haven't told her you liked her yet?"
"What-the, mom would you stop!" Henry begs her.
Riley couldn't help but giggle. "Well it was nice meeting you. I have to get home now. See you tomorrow Henry. Bye Charlotte, bye Jasper." She waves as she starts to take her leave.
"Mom I'll be back." Henry jogs over to catch up with her. "Hey Riley wait up, I'll walk you to wake myself up a bit."
Riley and Henry leave out his home and stars walkind down the streets of Swellview towards Junk N Stuff.
"That is some family you got there Henry." Riley smiles over at him.
"Yeah don't remind me," Henry shakes his head, his brow raised. "Hey, so has it always just been you and Ray? No other family?"
Riley sighs. "Yeah pretty much, I haven't met anyone else really." Henry gives her a sad look, Riley smiles and gives a shrug. "So it has always been just me and him, and Gooch for a long time. I do have to say that Ray makes a good dad and mom."
"Mom?" Henry questions.
Riley nodded. "There was an incident." Henry did a double take. "Let's just say that Ray doesn't look bad in a dress. We had our own fun times so let me just warn you that you haven't seen anything yet when it comes to my dad."
Henry sighs. "Yeah I was afraid of that." Riley chuckled, Henry nods and thinks about it with a small smile. "Still, I didn't think all this time that behind the mask, Captain Man was rasing a kid."
"Weird huh?" Riley smirks.
"More weird that she went to my school." Henry laughs.
Riley joined in. "See, and you never noticed me."
"Actually I did." Henry smiles looking over at her. "Just a little upset it took me this long to finally talk to you and find out how cool you are."
Riley couldn't hide her grin as all she could do was nudge him. "Thanks, your pretty cool yourself."
Henry laughed shaking his head as they continued walking and talking. It kind of felt fun to talk to someone who actually knows her dad that's a kid.
His phone vibrated making them both come to a stop.
"Ah man." Henry sighs.
"You alright?" Riley questions.
"Yeah I'm good, my dad is home and wants to talk to me. It's probably just about what happened today, I better get back." Henry puts his phone up. "You okay walking by yourself from here?"
"Yeah, I'm only a couple of blocks away." Riley smiles. "I'll see you tomorrow Henry."
"See yah." Henry backs up.
"Pole." Riley points.
"Huh-oh" Henry backed into the pole, he pats it a couple of times. "I knew that was there."
"Righttt." Riley playfully rolls her eyes, she turns around with a wave. "Night!"
Later that night...
Riley was sitting at the computer desk doing her homework and searching some things up for class.
The alert for the tubes went off, one lowered, Ray shot down.
Riley looks back as the tube rises, she went to speak but her nose quickly scrunched up from the smell that came when it did.
"Ugh, eww dad, what is that smell?" She pinches her nose and tries to wave it off.
"I'm that smell!" He threw his hands up as he walks down the steps.
"Uh-uh!" Riley holds her hand up. "That's far enough man. Any close and I may pass out. You smell disgusting, what happened?" She gets up.
"Henry fell asleep." Ray tells her, Riley sighs to herself. "So I had to fight the bad guy on my own."
Her brow raises. "Well what did you do chase him down a sewer hole?"
"Uh yeah, pretty much." Ray said in a duh tone.
Riley frowns. "Gross." She shakes her head. "Come on it's not fully Henry's fault. Trying to balance school and the work he does for you isn't something you get used to in a week or two. This job is a little different then you described and he was probably trying to study more for that make up test."
"Yeah, he was." Ray starts to walk to the back. "But you're right. That is why I told him to come over here tomorrow and I'm going to fix his school problem for good."
"He can't drop out." Riley points.
"I know that!" Ray throws his hands up. "I did think it but I know that."
"So what are you going to do then?" Riley questions.
"Well remember that machine I used on you to help you get an A on that really big math test?" Ray asks, Riley gives it some thought but soon nods her head. "Well I'm going to use it on Henry so he can get an A on his make-up test."
Riley folds her hands over her chest shaking her head. "Wouldn't it be better if he really just study? That way he can really learn from this."
Ray laughs shaking his head. "Now your taking the fun out of it Riles." Riley rolls her eyes. "I'm gonna take an hour long shower."
"Please do." Riley fans her nose.
"Oh hush." Ray goes behind the computer wall. "I should use your bathroom."
Riley's head snap around. "You wouldn't dare!" Ray runs off, Riley runs after him. "Dad you better not! Do you know how long it took to get it back to normal after the last time you traumatized it!"
The Next Day
Riley walks down the steps from the sprocket door.
She wore her khaki bootcut cargo pants, a long sleeve white and gray stripped v neck, with a hoodie attached to the back of it, and the sleeves pulled up a inch past her elbow. Her hair was out in waves with two braided stands pulled to the back of her head and pinned down.
Riley had her tablet in her hand as she walks over to see Henry sitting in the chair. Gooch was feeling Henry's head as she she approached them.
They slowly turned their heads to see Riley, she snorts and holds back her laugh, Riley shakes her head and goes over to the computer that was set up with the machine attached.
"Okay take another deep breath." As Gooch said that Henry took a deep breath. "Now go, oodle, oodle, oodle."
Riley looks up, Henry makes a face and looks to her for answers before back at Gooch.
"Are you-is he serious?" Henry asks.
"Yeah." Riley gives an apologetic smile. "Sorry."
Henry sighs but does it anyway. "Oodle, oodle, oodle." That made Riley snort out a laugh. "Oh come on-its not funny!"
"Yes it is." Riley chuckles.
Gooch shakes his head. "You're off key, it's oodle, oodle, oodle." He sung.
Henry starts to do it again. "Oodle-why am I doing this?"
"Relax kid." Ray said as he came from behind the wall of computers. He put his arm around her shoulders as he came to stand next to her. "Hey, Riles."
Riley smiles. "Hey, dad." She looks back to Henry. "But he is right, if you want this to work, you're gonna have to relax."
"I got a huge makeup test tomorrow and I got to study and you guys are making me go, oodle, oodle, oodle." Henry stresses.
Gooch shook his head. "No, no, it's oodle, ooodle, oood-"
"I don't care!" Henry stops him. "I don't have time to relax." He sighed.
"Exactly, your only problem is a lack of time." Ray points out.
"Imagine if you could do all your studying for school. In only 30 seconds." Gooch said with a nod.
"How can I learn anything in 30 seconds?" Henry asks confused.
"With this." Ray holds up a helmet. "The cerebral data transducer or as we call it, the H.R.Z."
Riley walked over. "This device can transfer knowledge from a data source directly into your brain. At 90 million digibles per second."
Henry nodded. "Cool, but why am I locked in a chair?" He looks down at his wrist that were locked firmly down.
"Do you want to get a good grade on your Puerto Rican math test?" Ray asked.
"History." Riley corrects.
"Same thing." Ray waves it off.
"Let us begin the procedure." Gooch said.
"Yeah, let's do it." Henry said with a excited nod.
"All right now, I'll set the computer to acquire all the world's historical knowledge on Puerto Rico." Ray said as he put the helmet on his head and joined Riley and Gooch behind the computer that was set up.
"Whoa, this is so cool." Henry said amazed but stopped when something came to mind. "Will this hurt?"
"Yes, very much." Riley nodded as Gooch and Ray gave her a look. She just shrugged. "What?"
Gooch shook his head. "Power up."
"Wait, so, how will I know-whoa, it hurts!" Henry screams as it started up, his legs kicking everywhere as he did.
Riley winces at the sight closing one eye and biting her lip.
"Just enjoy it." Ray calls out.
After a while the screaming started to die down and the machine turned off. Riley and Ray rushed over, Ray took the helmet off, Henry shook his hair out of his face obviously still feeling the effects.
"Well?" Riley motioned her hand.
"That hurt bad!" He looked up at the two of them.
"Yes, but tell us about Puerto Rico." Ray said.
Henry sighs. "I don't know anything about- Puerto Rico is a series of islands with a land mass of 3,500 square miles and a population of 3.6 million people. Its glorious beaches and lush rainforests are the perfect setting for a wedding, bar mitzvah, or growing bananas." Henry now had a amazed look, Riley smiled. "Oh-woah! I know Puerto Rico." He pointed to himself looking at them.
"Indeed." Gooch nodded.
"You see? With this you can learn anything you need to know for school in a matter of seconds." Ray patted his shoulder.
"Yeah," Henry agrees as he got up, he pauses and turns around. "Wait-you think cheating?"
The three of them shook there heads.
All three of them protest with slight mumbles.
"Depends how you look at it." Riley shrugs.
"I guess," Henry nods. "Anyway, I really doing this appreciate you for me." Henry was confused as he double taked. "Wait..."
"Uh-oh." Riley walked over to him. "It's the side effects."
"What side effects?" Henry looked from her to Ray.
"You see, after using H.R.Z when you talk, you might mix up your words for a few days." Ray said.
"Well, you could have before that you told me." Henry sighed.
"Hey the important thing is that now you're going to do well on your test." Riley said trying to make him feel better.
"Yeah-Ahhhhhh!" He let out a loud girl scream making everybody cringe. His face showed pure horror from the scream he just let out. "Why did I just-"
"That's another side effect. See sometimes you'll scream like-" Riley was cut off bye him screaming again. "a girl." She finished.
"But only for a few days." Ray hands went up in defense.
"Oh, so I'm a girl like a days for a few screams-wait." He sighed realizing what he said. "Ahhhhhhhhh!" Henry let out another scream and looked at Ray.
"You guys Hungry?" Ray clapped his hands together.
Riley and Henry just shook their heads at him.
'The next morning at school'
Riley sat in her usual seat in class. "So do you think you did good on your test?" She asks turning around.
Henry looks up with a smile. "I think I did better then great. Thanks again to."
Her head tilted to the side. "For what?"
"Eh, for keeping me sane during this." He nodded.
She smiles. "Anytime Henry."
He smiled back at her and watched her turn back around in her seat to finish listening to the lesson. After a hour the class was still taking notes while listening to Ms. Shapeman.
"And because the new hampshirian soldiers were better equipped. The vermont army finally surrendered and fled the coconut plantations."
"Coconuts in vermont?" Charlotte asks Henry who simply shrugs as Riley didn't know herself.
Jasper smiles holding up his notebook with a drawing of him. "I drew a picture of me."
They all stare weirdly at him and slowly shake their heads.
[ School Bell ]
"Okay everyone get out," Ms. Shapeman dismissed them. Everyone starts to gather their stuff and leave out of the classroom. "Henry, may I see you?"
Henry stops with Riley and looks back at her.
"I'll wait for you by the door." Riley pats his back.
"Kk." Henry heads over to her. "Yeah sure, Ms. Shapeman."
"You think he passed the test?" Charlotte asked.
"Yeah." Riley smiled looking from Henry to her. "I think so." Henry soon walks back over to the two of them with a graded test paper. "Soo?" Riley asked.
"100." Henry shows it off to them with a grin.
"Yeah, baby." Charlotte high fives him.
"Awesome!" Riley happily hugs him. Henry was thrown off for a second, he looked at Charlotte who just smiled giving him a thumbs up. "I knew you did."
Henry got over his shock and hugs her back. "Yeah, thanks Riley."
Riley breaks the hug and pulls away from him. "Please, I barely did much."
Charlotte remembers something. "Hey, wa-wait a minute."
"What?" Henry asked.
"Where were you two yesterday?" Charlotte asked. Their eyes widen as they both shared a narrowed eyed look to each other before looking back at her. "You guys weren't in class, so where were you?"
"Doctors appointment for me." Riley nods.
"I go to had somewhere." Henry quickly said.
Riley palmed her forehead.
"One more time?" Charlotte raised a brow.
"I had to go somewhere." He said it slowly. "Nailed it." Henry sighs, Charlotte give him a weird look. Henry then let out a girl scream making both girls go wide eyed from it as even Ms. Shapeman had looked up. He clears his throat nervously. "You later see!"
Henry puts his head down walking out, he grabs Riley hand and drags her with him to avoid her being questioned anymore either. They continued down the hall until they got a good distance, Henry sighs in relief and lets her hand go.
"Do you think Charlotte is getting suspicious?" Riley asks him.
"Suspicious is Charlotte not." Henry waved it off before sighing. "Charlotte is not suspicious. Besides were being careful-Ahhhhh!" He let out another girl scream making people look back at them.
Riley rolls her eyes. "Alright let's get you out of here." She grabbed his hand as they ran out.
