Chapter 9: Warrior Of Warriors
Liu Kang, Johnny Cage, Jax, and Sonya appeared at a foundry in Outworld. Liu Kang was becoming very confused as to why he could not forsee where Li Jing was, he was shaper of time and space, out of anyone he should've known. "We're still a long way off, we need to search the realm." Liu Kang told the three. Johnny looked at Sonya and admired her cleavage. Sonya looked at him angrily. "What? I'm just looking at your name badge." Johnny told her. "Okay movie star. Quit looking at her that way." Jax told Johnny. "What's with you two anyway?" Johnny asked Jax and Sonya. "I mean, you're smoking hot." Johnny told Sonya. "It's not like that. I'm her CO." Jax told Johnny. "Honey her her under my command, I'd—" Johnny said before Sonya punched him in the face. "That's it, it's time somebody shut you the hell up!" Jax yelled at Johnny. Jax grabbed Johnny by his throat and punched him several times in the face before throwing him. Johnny landed on his back and got into stance, he walked towards Jax with his guard up. Johnny threw a high kick at Jax who blocked, Johnny swept at Jax's feet and Jax jumped over the leg sweep. Jax went to work on Johnny, using his boxer training before knocking Johnny to the ground with a haymaker. "How do you like that Mr. A list?" Jax asked Johnny in a cocky manner.
Liu Kang stepped in. "Enough, you two will restrain yourselves." Liu Kang told Jax and Sonya. "Someone approaches. It's Jade." Liu Kang told the three. "I'll handle her." Sonya replied. Jade walked in. "The armory is restricted, you need to leave now." She told the group. Sonya didn't even say a word, she just punched Jade. Jade stumbled back before summoning her staff, she hit Sonya several times with the staff before Sonya grabbed it. Sonya kicked Jade away and took the staff for herself, she swung it at Jade and Jade ducked. Sonya brought the blade down on top of Jade, hitting her on top of her head. Jade raised her hand and the staff disappeared out of Sonya's hands. Jade kicked Sonya in the face, her heeled boot cutting Sonya's right cheek. She then threw several hooks, which Sonya blocked before finally throwing a punch of her own. Sonya kicked Jade twice in the torso, once in the stomach, then once in the chest. Sonya jumped and crane kicked Jade in the face knocking her down. They looked at Jade, Johnny walked up to them. "You both feel better?" He asked them. "Look Cage." Jax told him. "Don't worry about it." Johnny replied. "At least we know where we are." Johnny said out loud. "Yes, but we still don't know where Li Jing is." Liu Kang replied. The group walked on through the armory.
Outworld Wastelands
Smoke, Hanzo, Kenshi, and Shujinko trekked through the wastelands, they had spotted Bi-Han and Kuai Liang. The four ran to the cryomancer brothers, Hanzo approached Sub-Zero. "Greetings B-Han." Hanzo said before bowing to Sub-Zero. "Rise Hanzo. What are you and Kenshi doing here? And who is this?" Sub-Zero asked pointing to Shujinko. "Greetings, I am Master Shujinko. Sensai of the White Lotus." Shujinko replied. "Ohh." Sub-Zero said sarcastically. "I am also Lin Kuei, I trained under your grandfather. Grandmaster Sub-Zero." Shujinko told him. "You? You are The Warrior of Many Warriors?" Sub-Zero asked. Sub-Zero and Tundra bowed to Shujinko. "We heard tale of you, but never thought it to be true." Tundra told Shujinko. "They are true. I was gifted by a spirit long ago, I have used the gift to learn and absorb abilities beyond my aptitude. I abandoned my quest for the spirit years ago and started my work as a sensai." Shujinko explained. "If the great warrior is here with you, this can only mean something important is happening." Sub-Zero said. "Yes, let us make haste. I'll inform you on the way." Hanzo told them. The group continued their venture through the wastelands.
Shao Kahn's Palace
Li Jing laid in bed next to Shao Kahn, his helmet say on a table next to the bed. She was in awe at how great and beastly he was, he admired her beauty, stamina, and drive. "So, what are your plans with me?" Li Jing asked Shao Kahn. "I am not entirely sure. What we're doing was not planned. In any case, I will still tell the Earthrealm kombatants that you are my prisoner. But as far as what I am to do with you, I don't know yet." Shao Kahn replied. Li Jing laid there puzzled, she got up out of bed. Shao Kahn admired her figure, he looked at the younger Earthrealm girl. Kitana saw the whole scene in the cracked door, she scoffed at the very sight of her father the emperor "Fraternizing" with an Earthrealmer. The very notion made her sick, she stormed off in disgust. Kitana walked outside, there stood Jade and Ko'tal. "Father and the Earthrealmer have been relating. This puts Outworld at risk." She told Jade. "I knew this would happen, he has to have an ulterior motive. I just can't figure out what." Ko'tal said in response. Kitana walked off disgusted, Ko'tal and Jade looked at each other.
Outworld Outskirts
Hanzo, Kenshi, Shujinko, Bi-Han, and Kuai Liang ventured through the outskirts, they stumbled across a tiny soulnado. Jax and Sonya spotted the five men. "Hey, who goes there!?" Jax asked them. "Greetings. I am Shujinko of the White Lotus and the Lin Kuei. Us five are trying to get to Shao Kahn's coliseum for the tournament." Shujinko replied. "Okay, but why is Scorpion and Sub-Zero with you?" Sonya asked in response. "Liu Kang informed me that joining with these two men would be beneficial to stopping Outworld." Hanzo replied. A rumbling started and the soulnado disappeared revealing a soulstone. "You have disturbed our regeneration process." Ermac's voice said out of nowhere. Ermac appeared, and Jax grabbed him by the throat. Jax attempted to throw a left hook but Ermac used his telekinesis to grab Jax's arm, he then used it to free himself of Jax's right hand. Ermac had Jax's arms suspended out straight before Jax's arms exploded, exposing bloody bone and tendon. Jax screamed in pain and fell to the ground, Sonya used the laser from her wrist comm to colorize Jax's bloody grotesque stubs.
Ermac turned his attention to the five men, Sub-Zero, Tundra, and Hanzo all looked at each other. Hanzo threw his spear to pull Ermac closer, Sub-Zero threw his iceball to Ermac's top half, Tundra threw one to Ermac's bottom half. Ermac stood frozen solid, Shujinko dropped and did a sweep at the exact same time Kenshi performed a roundhouse kick. The combined force from the two men shattered Ermac instantly into pieces. Shujinko stood up. "He once trained me in my youth, he was in the Netherrealm." Shujinko told them. "Who the hell are you exactly? Look what that bastard done to Jax!" Sonya blurted out. Liu Kang appeared. "I see Ermac has fell." Liu Kang's voice said from behind. Sonya turned around to see Liu Kang and Johnny Cage behind her. "Look what he did to Jax, what do we do?" Sonya asked him. "I'll transport you back to Earthrealm. When you get there, find a medic named Kleon." Liu Kang told Sonya. "Okay." Sonya replied.
The group ventured on, Shujinko had a terrible gut feeling. "I feel doom impeding. I cannot place where or how." He told Hanzo. "I know, my time as a revenant left me with such feelings. We must be on our guard Master Shujinko." Hanzo replied. "Do not worry, I will not let anything happen to any of you." Liu Kang told them assuredly. Bi-Han looked at Hanzo. "So, there is no hard feelings between us Hanzo?" Bi-Han asked. "You were innocent. My family is restored, I assure you I have no quarrel with you Sub-Zero." Hanzo replied. Bi-Han was pleased and relieved with Hanzo's words, the group ventured towards the coliseum. "Lord Liu Kang, are we close?" Shujinko asked Liu Kang. "Yes Shujinko, we are close. And it is you who will win this tournament. I know this to be true." Liu Kang replied. Shujinko seemed pleased as he had always dreamt of winning the Mortal Kombat tournament, the group continued into the coliseum.
