Spyro Bridge Across Worlds Remake

Bell Tower
The next morning Cyril decided to go on a nice long flight to catch himself some tasty fish. He exited his cave and took to the air on his large wings. As he traveled far out into the ocean, he noticed a group of 30 ape warships out in the open waters. Based on where they are heading, he reasoned that it would be many more days before they arrived at Munitions Forge. He knew that he couldn't beat them on his own, and yet there was a way he could fight them he knew. He would have to train his students to go out to war, yet he didn't wish them to go. He knew that there was no way that they would wish for their children to join such a war. Cyril sighted knowing that he would have to sound the alarm to alert the inhabitants of the impending invasion.
Cyril quickly turned around before the sounds of cannon fire echoed off in the distance. He flew to the camp's bell not bothering to stop and hit it with his tail six times in quick succession before heading down for a landing. The townsfolk quickly stopped what they were doing and gathered near the bell tower wondering had happened. It was a known sign that six rings meant something dangerous was about to happen. They spotted the dragon on the ground and awaited to see what Cyril had to say. Cyril looked around to make certain that everyone was there as he cleared his throat.
"Ah fellow students, family members, and friends, I bring you some troubling news. I have spotted a large brigade of ape warships that are heading straight towards Munitions Forge, while I was out fishing." Cyril announced.
The inhabitants looked around in fear at the news and began to mutter to each other.
"Why are they coming here?" One of the bunnies from the crowd spoke up.
"I fear it is to take back their land, this land was once one of their strongholds where they built a good deal of weapons here." Cyril replied.
"But… but… this is our home, they can't take this place from us! We grew up here and its where we raised our children." One of the mice spoke up.
"Even so, they will run us all out if we don't build up an army of our own to fight them and that will take time. The only way we will be able to protect your friends and family is with an army." Cyril warned.
"How can we fight them? I mean look at all of us, we can't even stand up to their size. They are so much stronger, and more armed then we are." An old snow squirrel spoke up.
"How long will it be before they get here?" asked another one of the mice who looked like he was in a panic.
"Easy, easy, my friends please calm down and try not to worry. There ships tend to take quite a while to reach here. It might be a few days at the worst to a couple of weeks. Rather then worrying about when they are coming we need to prepare ourselves for the time ahead." Cyril replied.
"And what do you propose we do dragon?" The angry voice of Murtock asked.
"Well..." Cyril stammered.
"Surely you must have some sort of plan. After all your filth bred seemed to always be about with their fire and flames." Murtock shouted.
"I… I… don't like that tone and besides we are all not like that." Cyril replied.
"Oh are you now ice breath. Your too elegant for that sort of thing. If I didn't know any better I would say you are working for the apes." Murtock replied.
Cyril started to walk out towards him and let out a loud growl.
One of the bunnies went over to Cyril and gently pat him causing him to change his demeanor and felt really ashamed in how he acted.
"Come on Cyril ignore that loud mouth Murtock he is not worth it." The bunny replied.
"See I told you the beast can't be trusted he just growled at me." Murtock yelled.
"Let it alone Murtock and go home." One of the elders spoke.
"Very well, we will talk about this later." Murtock replied with a sneer and then left.
"Sorry about that Cyril, Murtock the badger tends to think he is more wise the rest of us at times. Sometimes he thinks of himself as our leader." The elder spoke again.
"I am sorry, I let my temper get the better of me." Cyril replied.
"So what do you propose we do Cyril?" asked one of the rabbits.
"I think our best lies with the students of my school, if we can teach them how to fight we might stand a potential chance against them." Cyril spoke.
Most of the kids parents looked shocked to have their children going to fight in a helpless war against the apes.
"No no way are my children going to fight a war for you dragon." One of the bunny family parents spoke up.
"All you dragons do is take and take!" One of the mice parents spoke up.
"Calm down everyone, I am not as young as I once was, and it is now up to the younger generation to take on this battle. If we hope to drive them back I will need there help to do so." Cyril explained.
"Murtock the badger was right about you. Why don't you go back from once you came dragon! We don't want you here!" spoke the squirrel's parents.
"Your kind is the cause of this mess. If you hadn't come here none of these things would have happened!" another mouse family spoke up.
"Please can't you all listen to reason?" Cyril pleaded.
"Go away dragon!" The mob shouted, one of them attempted to throw a snowball at the dragon.
Cyril looked down sadly, he had lost the trust of the families. Taking into the air he flew back towards his cave. When he came down from flying he settled down into the nest that he made in the school. He wondered how did things get so bad?
He had setup the school to pass on his vast knowledge to the young kids, in the hope of building up their parents trust. He started with five students in the beginning which then blossomed into forty students. Now all that progress would be lost. Cyril decided to take a small afternoon nap as he felt there was nothing else he could do at the moment. When he awoke he found six of his students near him.
"Why are you here my students?" Cyril asked curiously.
"We have come to help you fight the apes." The young bunnies replied.
"Well this is a most excellent blessing for me, I thought this day would never come." Cyril spoke wiping away a tear.
Cyril rarely showed his emotions as his dad had beaten it into him when he was very young.
"Teacher your crying again. Are you okay?" One of the bunnies asked.
"I am sorry it just something I am not used to." Cyril spoke.
"Its okay it makes you more like us. We don't care what Murtock says. He is just a big bully." One of the other bunnies spoke up.
"Thanks, come lets get started, we have much work to do." Cyril spoke.
Cyril walked the bunnies over to one of the large floor mats and took out a few more as safety precautions. He also looked at his tail-blade and knew it was quite sharp and decided to remove it.
"I have never seen a dragon remove its blade before." A third bunny spoke up.
"Sometimes I remove it for the purposes of oiling it, but at other times it just feels better to not have it on. It gets a bit itchy at times." Cyril spoke as he set it somewhere higher up.
"Is it very sharp?" Asked a fourth bunny.
"It is and I thought since I am teaching you how to battle it be safer with it off." Cyril spoke.
"Okay." One of the bunnies spoke.
"Okay now on to the mat all of you." Cyril spoke as he headed over to the largest one.
The other bunnies followed him onto the other ones.
Now that he felt ready he decided to swing his tail out at the six bunnies as he turned.
The bunnies landed flat on their backs as the attack had come out a bit unexpected.
Cyril allowed them some time to recover, but they wound up being bowled over a few more times
Cyril kind of chuckled as he remember Spyro struggling with the same technique when he had first trained him.
Eventually bunnies started to catch on to what Cyril was doing and began to dodge the tail though they were still a bit unrefined.
"Nice work Peter you are beginning to expect the unexpected." Cyril smiled.
"Yes master." Peter the bunny spoke though he was breathing kind of heavily. He was not as fit as the others and was having a hard time staying on his feet during tail attacks. Yet he was determined to see it through.
Cyril gradually slowed down as he noticed his students were getting kind of tired. He decided that now was the best time to switch to using his claws. He sent out a few swipes.
"Eeep!" The bunnies squeaked as Cyril's claws came out at them.
Several of the bunnies flopped every which way but a few moved two slow.
"Ahhh that hurts." Peter and another bunny spoke together. "No fair!"
Cyril stopped moving his claws after a moment or two and then looked at the two of them.
"It is not designed to be fair Peter and Parsley, the enemy that you will be fighting will not hesitate to use your weakness against you. So you will need to be ready for anything he is willing to throw at you." Cyril spoke.
"Yes master Cyril." Peter and Parsley replied.
"Very good now let me see to your wounds." Cyril spoke.
Peter and Parsley nodded allowing Cyril to examine them.
Cyril noticed that the cuts were not very deep. Cyril breathed a fine ice mist on them before covering it with a white bandage.
"It will feel a little cold but you should be fine." Cyril spoke.
"Thank you master Cyril for teaching us." The bunnies spoke.
"No problem, you did very well for your first day." Cyril chuckled. "Now how would you guys like to build a snow fort outside?"
"We have never done anything like that before, but it sounds like fun." The bunnies spoke.
"Then why not we head outside and get started." Cyril spoke.
The bunnies nodded and eagerly followed him outside.
While he could breath snow he thought it best to show how to mold snow with his paws on the snow covered ground. The bunnies watched curiously as he made a relatively large wall before starting on their own. Cyril watched the bunnies curiously. Though their wall was not as good as his he could tell they were at least trying. Cyril and the bunnies worked together and soon they had a large snow fort standing up.
Some time earlier Murtock had heard the dragon got thrown out on his ears from his own spies. He chuckled quite happily at this, and from what his spies told him the apes would pay quite a reward to someone bringing this dragon down. He wondered how much money he could make for himself, having the town being wiped out here and being made the leader. Things appeared to be going quite according to plan. He decided to settle back in his burrow to plan his next steps.
After the fort was fully setup he decided to look it up and down.
"You all did a very wonderful job my students. Yet it is still missing something?" Cyril spoke.
"What is it master Cyril?" The bunnies asked in unison.
"Oh you will see." Cyril hummed a tune to himself as he turned his back bunnies as he began to scoop some snow to build again.
The bunnies turned their head to the side in confusion.
As Cyril turned back around he quickly threw one of the snowballs he had been making at one of the bunnies.
"Beep!" Parsley squeaked before she got knocked down in the snow.
The others quickly caught on and began to toss the snowballs at Cyril. Soon snowballs were flying every which direction. The bunnies and Cyril were getting covered in the white snow with every single hit. Something about this place reminded Cyril about his childhood in the wintry mountains of his home Fetherwaren.
Long ago his father had never allowed Cyril to play in the snow or make friends with the other creatures. Cyril's father blamed the other creatures for his mate's death. Yet Cyril was bored of being cooped up all day and decided to sneak out several times while his father's back was turned or he was sleep. During this time Cyril did his best to play in the snow and enjoy a bit of a romp with a few friends. One night Cyril's father found out what he did and was very upset. Cyril told his father all he wanted to was a little bit of fun and felt bad he had to be shut away from everyone. Needless to say Cyril's father was not too pleased with that and so he lashed him several times with his tail so much so that Cyril was covered in his own blood. After that night Cyril ran away in the dead of the night not stopping to rest till he collapsed 60 miles from his home.
(Author's notes: It feels good to be back to writing this story as it has been quite a while. This part of the story is filled with a lot of emotion as I was feeling kind of ill at the time. The lack of motivation to work on this and having to rewrite my website put this chapter on hold for the time being. So only one chapter of Cyril remains and I have yet to type up the next two Cynder parts. I had almost lost some of this story in the process, but I am happy it is now in a safe place. So I am quite happy of this. Now that this one is done I can put it away for safe keeping.
I been wanting to tell the story about the guardians and how they first met and a bit of their background that kind of made them into what they are. I do have plans for electric dragon in the works but I still have to figure out his role in all this.
Still for the time being at least I have now 15 chapters happily under my belt. A much welcomed change, which is just shy of the original 22 chapters. There is still a lot of the story left to tell so stay tuned.)
