Greetings one and its me Bolt. I haven't really updated this story much since last year, as 2020 was not that good of a year. Life in general was kind of complicated and I just didn't really feel like writing much. I have certain web based projects that have kind of taken my attention away from story writing so to speak, however those projects are nearing completion. The other great difficulty I had to face is more on what to actually write about and that is kind of what I am still deciding on.
Spyro's death is kind of a necessary plot element, not only for Zach, but also for the apes as well. Since Spyro is dead the apes don't have to deal with one of their more major challenges. As far as Zach goes he is not really going to be seen as much of a threat to the apes down the road. Zach at some point in this story will find Cynder in the same place as the original and will seek help. Zach doesn't know that Spyro is dead, but it will later cause him to push himself to the limit to try to revive Spyro as opposed to just minor heals in the original. Depending on how events play out, Zach will most likely pass out from overuse of his powers.
Now this sets up a bit of a plot twist if his attempt on Spyro fails. What this does is kind of forces Zach on the path to rescue Cynder on his own. Terradore most likely will try to stop him from rescuing Cynder as he and Volteer feel, that she will fall back into her evil ways and is not worth the risk to rescue her. The only dragon I see that would tag along to help Zach would be Cyril who is more cold and calculating compared to the others and would in some way feel that she deserves a second chance like how he was given a second chance.
So then the scene kind of plays out as normal except Zach would be far more stealthy without Spyro around. Not to mention he also have to think on his feet a bit more when it comes to rescuing Cynder. He goes through the cave hiding Cynder as much as he can till his invisibility runs out forcing Cynder and Zach to make a run for it. The whole falling rocks happens more or less the same way. Cynder makes it out without Zach and she is taken to the dragon temple and gets there just in time to see Spyro wake up. The guardians then realize Zachs powers though small were enough to revive him.
Zach gets corrupted same as before with a slight change that he can turn into the bat dragon mount. The other slight change is the battle between Cynder and Zach plays out a bit differently. Zach doesn't know Spyro is alive which gives Spyro the element of surprise. Cynder would try to talk him out of the darkness knowing that of her own darkness. Spyro tries to protect Cynder only to wind up being poisoned. So this leads to battle roles being switched to a light vs dark battle. Meaning neither can use their powers while connected.
So this is one possible scenario that might happen a little later in the story. As for the other chapters I still need to figure out what to write about.
