The sled pulled by a single reindeer made its way across the snow. "Hang on, we like to go fast," Kristoff warned them.
"I like fast," Anna responded.
William was tempted to respond with 'no kidding', given how quickly she went from, 'Pleased to meet you Prince Hans,' to accepting a marriage proposal, but he felt that wasn't his place.
Kristoff promptly chastised Anna about putting her feet up on his freshly lacquered wood. "Seriously, were you raised in a barn?" He then promptly proved that he knew nothing of physics, much to Anna's misfortune. William had to suppress a laugh.
"No, I was raised in a castle," Anna responded as she wiped her face.
"Hmm." Kristoff didn't seem impressed. He turned his head to look behind them where William stood, his sea legs allowing him to keep his footing on the fast-moving sled. "What about you. You raised in a castle too?"
"I was raised in a lot of places. My mother has restless feet. Couldn't stay in one place too long."
"I can understand wanderlust," Kristoff replied.
Later the ice harvester asked, "So, what made the Queen go all ice crazy?"
Anna told him about her argument with her sister. He stopped her, "Wait, you got engaged to someone you just met that day?" Kristoff's echo of Elsa's objection was too much. William laughed. Anna didn't seem to notice though as she continued, only to be interrupted again. "Hang on. You got engaged to someone you met that day?"
"Yes, pay attention." She continued with her story.
Once again Kristoff interrupted. "Didn't your parents ever warn you about strangers?"
After a moment she answered tentatively. "Yes, they did." She scooted away from him. "But Hans is not a stranger."
To prove his point Kristoff asked questions about Hans, none of which Anna had an adequate answer for. William was finding it amusing.
"What if you don't like the way he picks his nose...and eats it."
"Excuse me sir, he is a prince."
"All men do it."
William interjected, "Speak for yourself ice man."
Kristoff responded, "Don't want to admit it huh?"
Anna insisted, "Look, it doesn't matter; it's true love!"
"Doesn't sound like true love."
"What are you? Some kind of love expert?"
"No, but I have friends who are."
William said, "I have a cousin who thinks she's a love expert. And she's decided it's her mission to find the right girl for me."
"Hey Princess," Kristoff said. "Have you known this guy for more than twenty-four hours?" He gestured with is thumb back at William, "Maybe you can marry him."
William laughed. "Just don't say that around Rapunzel."
Suddenly Kristoff lost interest. "Everyone be quite."
Kristoff looked around. So did William and Anna; then they heard it. A low growl...wolves.
"Sven go," Kristoff ordered. They were off as fast as the reindeer could run.
If their lives weren't in danger, William would have found it funny to hear the ice harvester and the princess continuing their argument as they all fought off the wolves.
Kristoff fell off the sled, holding on by a rope. The wolves were almost on him. William took out his pistol and tried to take aim but didn't dare fire for fear of hitting the mountain man. Anna solved the problem by lighting the man's bedroll and throwing it at the wolves. William then pulled the rope to help their guide get back to the sled.
As soon as Kristoff was back, they realized that they were heading to a cliff. Stopping wasn't an option, neither was turning. Kristoff picked the princess up and tossed her on to Sven's back. The reindeer and the two men leaped, William using his sword to give him purchase in the snow.
Were it not for Anna's quick thinking, Kristoff would have fallen to join his now burning sled at the bottom of the gorge.
"What were you carrying on that thing?" William asked, a little puzzled at the explosion.
"Probably the Kerosene."
"Well, come on. Let's get going," Anna urged. The two, along with Sven turned and started walking.
As they walked, they marveled at the land around them.
"I never knew winter could be so beautiful," Anna said.
"It almost seems, dreamlike," William said. "Probably right out of your sister's imagination of what winter should be."
Made sense, Anna thought. After all those years cooped up in her room, when Elsa cut loose, she went big.
They heard a voice, "Yeah it is beautiful, so white."
They looked at each other as someone was going on about color.
"No, not yellow, yellow and snow, no go." They all looked down to see a living snowman. He asks, "I'm I right?"
Anna screamed and kicked the snowman's still talking head toward Kristoff. "You're creepy." He then tossed it to William.
William caught the snowman's head then looked at them and said, "Well, I think this is a good indication that we're on the right track."
"Um, can you put me back together? Please."
"Sure." William placed the snowman's head back on his body. "Now," he said. "How about we start with introductions. I'll start. My name is William, this is Kristoff and," He pointed to the reindeer, "This is Sven. And the pretty young lady here," Anna went slightly red in the cheeks. "is Princess Anna."
"Hi everyone. I'm Olaf, and I like warm hugs."
"Olaf?" Anna said, recognizing the name. "Like the snowmen Elsa and I used to make. Olaf? Did Elsa build you?"
"Yeah, why?"
"Do you know where she is?"
"Yeah, why?"
"Can you show us the way?"
"Yeah, why?"
Kristoff spoke up. "Because we need Elsa to bring back summer."
"Oh, summer," the small snowman said, as he spoke of his longing to see summer. William and Kristoff looked at each other, knowing what the return of summer would mean for the happy little snowman.
"Let's go bring back summer!" Olaf called out.
"Somebody's got to tell him," Kristoff said.
"Well, maybe there's something Elsa can do for him. We'll have to see."
