Warrior's End
The samurai made his first move and knight followed his lead. Their blades clashed and everyone watched. Ami watched nervously, praying for the Samurai. As for Aki, she just show her little smirk, didn't care who wins.
The two warriors moved quicker than ever. The knight moved faster than the Samurai even though he wore heavy armor. Every swing they make is a killing blow. But the entire time, both were on the defensive. They were waiting for something in every swing of their sword.
A small moment where their opponent leaves.
An opening for a counterattack.
Unfortunately, the fight will be one-sided.
Ami remembered what Oblitus said about the power that the entity Idea have. She can make her ideas come true. But with the cube's power, she can make it last long. Obitus stated that she made her own heroes to be invulnerable and destined them to win any battle they face. It is like living in a story and they are the villains who are destined to lose.
The dark entity even mentioned that Idea loves stories from Earth especially the Hero's Journey formula.
Ami thought about it. How can we defeat a man who is destined to win?
She then remembered the dark entity looking at her, indicating he knows something. Ami cannot tell what it means.
The samurai grew weary for swinging his katana however his opponent keeps getting stronger and faster. Ami can feel it. He is losing the fight. She has to do something. Frantically, she looks around, looking at anyone. They all froze in fear but kept on cheering for the samurai putting all their hopes to him.
Ami began to think what she could do to help. She started to feel the barrier around her. A barrier between "do" or "do not". It is like her free will has gone as the story plays. Oblitus knows about this. Reality has chosen its champion.
And it is not the samurai.
The dark entity watched as the samurai struggled to win his battle against the knight. He fell to his knees and he can only do now was block and evade.
Ami cannot watch it anymore.
The young entity Idea arrived at her destination with her two heroes. Dilek took them to the nearest location that she could go. Idea asked her twin. "Where are we?"
She could only answer, "The sapphire is here."
The gunslinger felt a presence behind them. "We have company." He said as he drew out his pistols. The spear man prepared himself as well. Idea and Dilek turned to the dark woods and witnessed the shadows moving, slowly crawling towards them.
Then the shadow formed itself into a tall elongated man with pale faceless head. You are in my domain.
The cyan entity smirked, "Are you the one they called the Man of Fear?"
The shadow man did not answer. He knows they are after the sapphire and he won't allow them to take it.
The samurai paused and took time to breathe. He laid down his weapon and dropped to the floor, tired. He looked up and wondered, "Why?" He watched Ami slowly and precisely pushed her sword to the knight's heart, ending the warrior for good.
Ami has done it.
She broke the barrier and obtained her free will. As the knight dies abruptly, Oblitus was satisfied knowing it will happen.
He has the Gem of Time of course. He may not be in his full power but he can still be confident that he has the gem on his possession.
The samurai felt a little cheated but also relieved that it is over. He felt he was suppose to be him to kill the knight. But Ami explained, "It will be useless. This Idea entity made these people invulnerable to anything. They have something that avoids them from death. Like an armor."
She added. "This is not her story. This is ours. She cannot make us do what she wanted us to do in this "plot" of hers. We are the protagonists of our story. We get to choose our-" But the samurai stopped her.
"Stop it. I understand what you mean." The samurai said. Now that the knight is dead, they don't have a clue where to go. He turned to the dark entity, "Where is she going?"
"She's after the gemstones. I presume she's going to the nearest one first." He stated the obvious.
Annoyed, the samurai asked for a way to pursue her. "Do you know the way?"
Oblitus gave him a warning. "Samurai, this journey you are about to take - there will be no return. The only way to get back is by using these gems. Do you understand?"
The samurai thought about it for a moment but then remembered he was sent to the future and lived their for 50 years. He chuckled at the fact he got back after that long journey. He no longer has fear of getting lost. He always find his way back. "I understand."
"If you are going, I'm going too." Ami said.
"Me too." Avi stepped in.
"I want to join too." Aki said it without hesitation. "I can do better."
The samurai appreciates their willingness to help but he denied them. "I cannot let you come with me. I must go on my own. This is my quest."
"But Ashi..." Ami said. "We don't know what happened to her but those bastards did something to her. I want to come with you and face them."
"Let me do that. I want you all to protect my kingdom and my family while I'm gone. I put my trust on you, Ami."
She sighed, knowing he will not take No for an answer. "Fine. Just find those bastards."
"I will." The samurai turned to the dark entity and said. "Now show me the way."
Oblitus opened a rift to the Void. "First, we get out from our own time stream and head to another. Simple as that."
The samurai starts to get the picture. "So you want me to get off this River of Time and dive to another river of time?"
"Yes."
Surprised how simple it is. "Okay then." The samurai stepped into the rift and saw thousands of streams of light flowing to one direction. The mortal was amazed to see it wonders in the Void, outside Time.
But then he heard Ami yelling at him. "Samurai, Watch out!"
He turned and saw Aki slipped into the Void and tackled the samurai. Together they fell into a time stream and into a new world.
Oblitus closed the rift before the others followed. "Oops."
"What are you doing? Open the rift!" Ami yelled.
"I will not. There are forces you mortals will never understand." Oblitus explained. "The samurai just set himself into a journey into mystery and I gave him security that if anything happens, he will return here." The dark entity was confident that the samurai will be fine. "As you see, time flows differently in that universe. We can wait a day but in that universe it will flow a minute or a year. It depends."
"You can get him back?"
"Yes. But not your sister, unfortunately. She just goes in and she will surely die in that universe."
Ami demanded the entity. "Get him back!"
"That early?"
"You said Time flows differently."
"Fine!" Oblitus snapped his fingers and then the samurai emerged from thin air.
What comes next shocked everyone. The samurai was filled with battle scars and beaten up. He was panting and bleeding. The dark entity commented. "Whoa. How long were you out there?"
The samurai did not answer his question. But he did say something before he fell unconscious.
"Mors..."
