Into the Unknown
They took the samurai into the infirmary, making sure he did not sustain any fatal injures. Ami kept asking questions. "What happened? Where is Aki?"
No answer from him.
"What is a Mors?" She asked. She turned to the entity who appears to be suspiciously silent.
Moments ago, the samurai and Aki dived into a River of Time and felt the cosmic liquid flowing around them as they entered a new world. The samurai tried to break away from her grasp. He headbutts her and kicked her away. The two drift apart into a different points of time. Seconds later, the samurai landed on a warm meadow.
The samurai got up quick and looked at his surroundings. He's in the middle of a European countryside. No futuristic structures. No flying objects.
Just birds and a simple farm just up ahead.
He walked to the farm and met two people doing their daily chores. He greeted them.
The farmer took a look at the samurai and commented. "You're not from around here, huh?"
"That is correct. I'm from the East."
"Far East?"
"You can say that."
The farmer doesn't trust him. "You don't look like from the East, fella."
The samurai then ignored his comments. "Anyway, I would like to know... what year is this?"
"Year? Depends on the calendar you're using, pal."
The samurai sighed. "What does your calendar say?"
"Year 335."
"335?"
The farmer confirms it. "It is the year 335." He then called his wife to gave him the calendar. Instead, the old woman gave him a newspaper dating the year 335. The samurai read the date, confused. But then he read the headline Secret War Between The West and The East. He then returned the paper to the farmer.
"I see."
"As for your Eastern calendar, it will be 2020." The farmer added.
"Okay?" Then the samurai asked. "Is there a nearest town?"
The farmer showed him the way, told him to head North. He will soon reached the town of Howl. The samurai ventured to the North and arrived at a small Germanic town filled with Europeans and their horses and wooden wagons. The samurai tried to process the surroundings and the year he was in. He then concluded that he is in a different world.
Soon, he was approached by a big man. "What is your business here?" It was a knight wearing silver armor and a three horned helmet and a coat made from bear fur. "You are not from around here, are you?"
"Obviously." The samurai said.
"State your business, mortal." The knight asked.
"My name is Jack and I am searching for… uh, Sanctuary here."
The knight looked at the man's clothes and weapon. "Warrior from the East, I see."
"Um… yes. I have come in peace. Just… wandering around the place."
The knight one last glare at his face, trying find if he's hiding something. But when he looked, the samurai is not lying. He is simply nervous. "Alright. I can take you to Caitlyn's Inn. Come with me."
"Thank you, sir knight."
"Please. Call me Donovan."
"Sir Donovan… I thank you."
Meanwhile, at an Eastern town from another universe, Idea's gunslinger got himself into a firefight. He shot many rounds as possible, trying to kill all of his foes.
However, his enemies are pretty unique.
Instead of using firepower, they have fire power. They threw dozens of fire balls at him and the gunslinger simply pulled out his cigar and tried to catch a light.
"Seriously?" The spearman said. "You are smoking?"
"Yeah?"
"We are cornered, mister. And you find a time to smoke."
The gunslinger yelled at his companion. "You have a magic spear, right? Why don't you blast them?"
"You're the one who started this fight! I want you to end it!"
"Sure. But not this time." He puffed a smoke.
Frustrated, the spearman went out from cover and leaped towards their enemies. He slammed his spear to the ground and blew everyone away. The gunslinger just peeked and watched, smirking like snake.
The spearman stabbed a foe toward the wall and asked, "Where is the Jade?"
The man does not know, shooting his head as he bleeds.
The spearman pulled out his weapon and dropped the dead. "It's not here."
"Are you sure?" The gunslinger asked. "But Dilek said it is here."
"Maybe she is lying."
But then out from nowhere Idea appeared with the sapphire on her forehead. "She is not. It is still here. But lost." She grabbed a wounded mortal and peeked into his mind. She saw visions of people in gliders, flying around the city. And then an image of a woman in blue flying around with them. She appears to have the jade as a necklace.
"I know where it is now." Idea grinned.
Donovan took the samurai to the inn where he could stay for a while. He was soon greeted by the owner Caitlyn. She approached the two men. "Can I help you, gentlemen?"
The knight said. "He needs a place to stay."
"Uh huh… and does he have money?"
The the knight turned to the samurai, appears to be glaring underneath the helmet. The samurai apologized. "I'm sorry." But then suggested. "I can stay with the horses."
The innkeeper sighed. "Fine. I give you three days."
The samurai thanked her and also the knight.
"Alright. Keep yourself warm, warrior." The knight said. "But I might also ask. What's your name? Your name is not Warrior, right?"
"Just call me Jack."
The knight liked that name. "Jack. Good name. See you around, Jack."
The innkeeper showed the samurai to his room and prepared his bed. "If you need anything, just pull this string. It tugs a bell, okay?"
The samurai nodded. As she left, he looked around his room and find something strange. He has never tried sleeping in a common room before. He can only comment. "This is nice."
Soon he laid down and rest.
Later, in the burning city of New York, Aki popped out from the sky and fell to the pavement hard. But with her demon blood, she survived the fall and got up easily.
She looked around and found destruction everywhere.
"Where is that samurai?"
Soon, a large entity approached her after witnessing her decent from the sky. "And who are you, young lady?" He calmly walked towards her but remained cautious.
Aki threatened the man. "I am Aki. Daughter of Aku! You mortal better bow before me and I will show you mercy!"
However, the man laughed. "Oh my! Aku? The demon born from the Black Mass. The spawn of Ultimate Evil! Aku who once sought to devour all of creation! Aku who has been defeated by a mere mortal. Is that the Aku you are referring to?"
Furious for insulting her father, Aki attacked the man displaying her demonic powers.
Unfortunately, the man simply dodged her attack. As she passed him, he grabbed her in midair and threw her back to where she was. Back to the pavement.
Aki growled. "Who are you?"
Soon the planes flew past them and dropped nukes behind the man. He approached the woman and lend her a hand. "The name is Mors." The blast from the nuke hit them and Aki flinched. Second later, she noticed she was fine and turned back to the man. The two were covered with red energy that protected them from the nukes.
Aki looked down and there she saw the red stone glowing in his iron gauntlet.
The Daughter of Aku meets the One Armed Man.
Witnessing his power and might, Aki's cheeks turned red.
"Hi…"
