Mors

The Knight Donovan ran throughout the castle, looking for Samurai Jack. He ran through a hallway of corpses and debris that blocked his path. He got lost for a few times until he found the great hall. As he ran, he called out the samurai. "Jack! Jack! We need to get out of here!" Unbeknownst to him, four entities were moving above him, watching over the knight.

The samurai drew out his katana and quickly laid his blade near Mors' neck.

The man froze as he felt the cold steel near his jugular. "What are you doing?"

"I know what you are doing." The samurai said. "You built that gauntlet to wield those gems and used it to shape the world. I heard the stories about it."

Mors was surprised. He has never met the man before he hired him. How could he know about the gauntlet? With his high-level of intelligence, he can tell the samurai does not live in his world. To be exact, he is not in his own time. "You're from the future."

The samurai did not answer. He slowly raised his sword up, forcing Mors to stand up. "Remove the gauntlet."

"Alright. Alright." Mors said as he calmly removes it. He dropped it on the floor.

"Now kick it to that side."

Mors did what the samurai said. "Okay. I did it."

The samurai made sure Mors doesn't do anything or move a muscle. He wanted to make sure he stops him from collecting the gems thus not starting the catastrophe that Oblitus once told him about. "Easy. Easy."

But then the knight entered the room and yelled at the samurai. "Jack! We need to get out of here!"

On that moment of distraction, Mors moved away from the samurai and called out his gauntlet. It flew towards him and permanently locked on to his left arm.

The samurai turned back and saw Mors and his golden gauntlet united.

The man smirked as he clutched his fist and attracted the six gems into his device. The samurai ran as fast as he could to get at least one of them. The gems flew to Mors' gauntlet and fused inside its compartments. "I got them all!" Mors cried out but then he saw one compartment empty.

He turned and saw the samurai holding the Eye of Horatius. The gem of Time.

Donovan saw the samurai holding the orange gem and Mors wielding the five glowing gems attached to his golden gauntlet. Confused, he yelled to the both of them. "We should not be here! This place is attacked by-" He was then cut off mid-sentence as four men burst open the door behind the knight, throwing him between the samurai and Mors.

The four men are the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. War, Famine, Pestilence, and Death.

Before they could strike the three mortals with their world-ending weapons, Mors stepped forward and used the full power of the gems. He used the red stone; the Heart of Pyralis, projecting a powerful red beam to the four horsemen. Famine was hit but the others evaded and began their attack.

Donovan conjured his flaming sword and blocked the bleeding and screaming sword of War. He panicked. "Jack! Help!"

The samurai dodged Death's cold scythe and blocked the second swing with his katana. Two blades clashed and created a strange power knockback that pushed the two away from each other.

Meanwhile, Mors faced Pestilence and its rotting bow. The man clutched his gauntlet and used the red stone again to blast horseman away, sending back to the great hall.

The burst of power launched the samurai out of the castle and he landed safely on a sandhill. He has never felt that power before. He remembered his last encounter with the horseman that he could take them out easily with his sword. But this time, they have strong energy around them. The samurai then recalled, Oblitus did something with his katana and wrapped it with his essence and turned it into the Celestial Sword.

"Oh, great."

Donovan on the other hand has a fair sword fight against War. Both displayed great mastery of the sword. The knight knew the battle will be a tie. He then shaped his sword into an ax and threw it to War. His opponent flew backward against the wall. When he succeeds, it's his chance to escape and went after the samurai.

Pestilence fired its bow wrapped with a disease that rots the flesh quickly. But its arrow did not hit Mors as he used the purple gem; the Wanderer's Amulet, to transport the arrow back to the horseman. When his foe is down, Mors then goes after the samurai. He disappeared with the power of the amulet.

The samurai stood up with his legs shaking.

Donovan arrived and checked on him. "Are you okay, Jack?"

"I can still fight." He assured him.

But the knight shook his head. "No. We must not fight. These are Horsemen of the Apocalypse. They are here for a reason."

The samurai looked down at his hand hold the orange gem. Donovan saw it and said. "Let it go, Jack. This thing can kill us both."

"You don't understand! This thing is what I'm looking for. I need this to get back home!" The samurai explained but it will be a long one for the knight. No time to tell everything to the knight. "I'm sorry. But I have to take this."

Before Donovan could say something, War came and Death followed. The two horsemen watched the two mortals and their eyes looking at the orange gem on the samurai's hands. The knight whispered, "Drop it, Jack. Now."

The samurai ignored and went on using it. He slammed the gemstone into his katana giving it power as Oblitus did before. After the transformation of his sword, he attacked the two horsemen. Donovan hated how the samurai was stubborn but he was forced to give cover for him. He conjured a powerful beam of flames, separating War and Death.

The samurai faced War and swung his sword to its bleeding sword. Both locked blades until Mors emerged beside them and attacked the two using the yellow gem; Dilek. He created two golden dragons to attack the two. War got eaten and the samurai leaped upward, avoiding its jaws. Soon Mors teleported by the purple gem and grabbed his hand that holds his katana. "This is mine!"

Mors used the red stone to incinerate him.

But in just a second, the samurai used the time gem to reverse everything 15 seconds back. When it happened again, the samurai can determine where to strike. He swung his sword where Mors will appear and pushed him back.

Donovan was fighting Death until the reaper paused and turned to the samurai and Mors who both have the gemstones. Seeing the horseman's actions, the knight figured something out. Death plunged itself between the samurai and Mors, trying to take the gemstones at once.

However, Mors doesn't want the gemstones to be taken easily and so he used the green gem, the Jade of Mahatma, to summon souls of the dead to distract the Horseman of Death. The samurai on the other hand have other plans. If he leaves with the Time gem, Mors will never get the full power of the six and so the catastrophe will be averted.

Unfortunately, the samurai did not know he is in a paradox on a multiversal level.

Mors used the purple gem and pulled the samurai close to him and the blue gem to knocked him out of consciousness. "Finally!" He said as he took the last gem from the katana and placed it on his gauntlet. It is now complete. No one is going to stop him and his plan.

"Not so fast." Donovan placed his hand on the back of Mors and conjured the largest fire sword he has ever made; the Sword of Surtr. It pierced through Mors and ignited him entirely.

Engulfed by the hellish flames, Mors struck the two away from him as he tried to remove the flames. Once the samurai released, Donovan took the time to drag his friend away from the burning foe. He placed him on a minecart and pushed him to the trail the leads to the outside. The knight stayed behind to keep the fire burning.

Mors howled in agony but he soon turned his focus on the gems. He used all of them at once. He moved his fingers and snapped.

There was silence after that. But soon the samurai heard the birds chirping above him and it made him open his eyes. He saw the bluebird looking at him, curious. He sat up and vision blurry. He tried to remember what happened but soon he saw the mountain is gone. "What happened?" He stood up and looked around, the forest around the mountain was burning and wildlife fleeing for their lives. He saw dead animals lying on the ground, their bodies half-burnt with skeleton coming out.

The samurai looked up at the sky and saw Mors flying upward and into space. He appeared to be heading towards the sun.

"What is he doing?" He tried to move but then came across the knight's scorched helmet lying on the ground. Donovan is gone. The samurai felt the sudden change of the atmosphere when Mors has the six and it made him sick. That kind of power in the hands of a mortal like Mors. The uncertainty of what he will do with it.

Soon... the sun exploded.

Its solar energies were scattered to the entire star system and struck the world. Debris flew and struck the samurai, scarring and bruising him. Then the heat came and the surface of his skin burned. That catastrophe ended that world. The samurai can hear the distant screams of people from afar as the world ended.

He failed to stop Mors.

He failed to save those people.

As the world was burning and slowly disintegrating, the samurai vowed that he will end Mors no matter what. He just needed a second chance. He pleaded the gods like Odin, Rama, or Ra for help.

But someone else gave him that chance.

Next thing he knows, the burning stopped and he heard a familiar voice talking to him. "Whoa. How long were you out there?" It was Oblitus, the entity of forgotten, who pulled him back. The samurai looked down and saw the shocked faces of Ami and his people.

The samurai muttered, "Mors." Then fell down to the ground, exhausted.
