Six Months Later
"Where am I?" Sasuke asked, opening his eyes and only seeing darkness.
Sasuke felt for his face and realized a bandana was covering his eyes. He took off his bandana and couldn't see a thing. He realized the room was dark, so he stood up and felt for a light switch. He turned on the lights and noticed Sakura was helping Naruto with his bandana.
They were in a janitor's closet and had stuff such as kunais, flash bangs, and rope and first aid kit strewn about.
"How did we end up here?" Naruto asked.
"I don't know, but there is a note attached to the door to the room," Sakura answered.
Sasuke grabbed the note and read it out loud. "Congratulations on being selected for the Chūnin Exams. This is the first exam. You are in the middle of Training Ground Forty-Four and must get to one of the training ground's many gates which is guarded by various Chūnins. After defeating the gate's guardian, you must infiltrate Konoha and reach the Hokage Tower which marks the end of the first exam. You have a scroll which can summon your sensei in case of emergencies and a flare to signal your forfeit."
Naruto and his teammates gathered what they could – kunais, rope, flash bangs, and first aid kits – and sealed them in scrolls. They then walked out of the janitor's closet and into a hallway. They took the stairs to the ground floor and walked out into the forest.
Naruto created shadow clones and dispersed them throughout the forest. He would dispel a clone if a clone saw danger. They heard screams and rushed to the aid of Team Eight – Hinata, Kiba, and Shino – who were being attacked by a large bear.
Sakura launched a flash bang at the bear, momentarily distracting the bear. Naruto spawned several clones and took the chance to pin the bear down. While Naruto pinned the bear down, Sasuke used a kunai to impale the bear's heart, killing the bear.
"Thanks for the save," Kiba said.
"How about we split the bear between both teams?" Sakura asked.
Everyone nodded.
The next day, Teams 7 and 8 split up. Naruto spawned his clones like usual and started walking with his teammates. An hour later, he stopped him and his teammates.
"One of my clones were dispelled by a kunai," Naruto explained.
Just as he finished speaking, a man with very pale skin, golden eyes with slitted pupils, purple markings around his eyes and fang-like teeth appeared from the bushes.
"Sasuke, you are mine," the man announced.
"Who are you?" Naruto asked.
"My name is Orochimaru," the man replied.
"Shit!" Sakura replied. "He's an S-ranked missing-ninja."
Sakura immediately used the scroll to summon their sensei, who arrived in a poof of smoke. Ayo saw Orcohimaru and paled. She immediately poured water from her canteen onto the ground and manipulated the water to form two humanoid creatures – one with a horn protruding from its forehead and one with a third eye on his forehead.
"Water Release: Great Guardians technique," Ayo announced.
"You think those two can stop me," Orochimaru replied.
Orochimaru lunged at the four only to be stopped by the two creatures. He was wedged between the two creatures and tried to punch and kick his way to freedom only for the creatures' bodies to reform each time he struck.
"Wind Release: Wind Cutter Technique," Naruto announced, using his chakra to manipulate an external source of wind and create one to several blades of wind.
Naruto used the several blades of wind to cut Orochimaru's head off. Sasuke created a mini fireball and used it to sear the edges of Orochimaru's head, preventing his head from regenerating. Sasuke then set Orochimaru's headless body on fire. Sakura impaled Orochimaru's head with a poisoned kunai.
"I will be taking Orochimaru's head back to the Hokage," Ayo said. "I will leave you guys to finish the rest of stage one."
It was the third day when Sasuke and his team reached the gates. They encountered a portly man guarding the gate. The portly man was reading a book and snickered as he flipped the pages.
"I have an idea on how to get past him," Naruto announced. "Humor me."
"I'm listening," Sasuke and Sakura replied.
"Hey, fatso," Naruto shouted. "Why are you reading porn in public?"
The portly man looked up from his book only to be clobbered by Sakura's fist. He lost consciousness allowing Naruto and his team to get through the gates. Naruto and his team transformed into civilians and quickly made their way to the Hokage Tower.
"I have some good news and some sad news," the Third Hokage announced at the conclusion of the first stage. "Orochimaru and his team has infiltrated Konoha. He is a S-ranked missing-ninja. His team killed Team Guy's team during the first stage. The good news is that Orochimaru is dead thanks to Ayo and her genin team."
There was stunned silence.
"Those who are grieving Team Guy's death are entitled grief counselors," the Third Hokage continued.
"We are Orochimaru's team, and we surrender," a man wearing glasses – Ayo identified him as Kabuto – shouted.
The Third Hokage motioned for the Anbu to capture and arrest Orochimaru's team. He gave the participants two days to rest before the second exam will begin.
