Chapter 12: Vincent Goldman Arrives

Claire stormed over to where Goldman, Lansdale and Davis were. Doctor Radames and Moira followed. He had been in Control of Sheena Island, an island owned by Umbrella before he was president of WilPharma. This island became home to the second Raccoon City incident due to a biohazardous outbreak occurring not long after Racoon City. Its subsequent destruction prevented it spreading. Goldman was the only survivor and had claimed that someone named Ark Thompson had started it. He weaved a tale stating that Ark had infiltrated the island and released some stolen t virus. Apparently when Goldman had confronted him, Ark had tried to murder him. So, he was forced to kill Ark to survive before he manged to launch the island's self-destruct and escaped the island via his private helicopter. He became CEO of WilPharma not soon after having sold out Umbrella. He was yet another reason why Claire did not trust WilPharma since she was sure Goldman still had ties to Neo Umbrella or at least Spencer. He had only sold out the small fry employees or already abandoned Umbrella Strongholds. She did not put it pass him to be linked to this attack or the India one in the first place.

Doctor Radames asked Goldman, "What are you doing here Goldman?"

Goldman said smugly, "We have been contracted in bring the vaccine to all the survivors of this incident. Isn't the right Senator."

Davis said, "Yes President Graham and Lansdale agreed to bring in WilPharma and utilize the t-Vaccine on the soldiers and any survivors." Doctor Radames and Claire both looked annoyed while Lansdale and Goldman looked smug.

Lansdale then said to Davis, "Well I need to be off since I am no longer needed, and The President and I need to have a chat about the current situation. See you Senator and Be seeing you Vincent at our weekly lunch." Lansdale promptly left ignoring Claire and Doctor Radames.

Goldman said looking very happy, "Miss Redfield, it seems that despite your best efforts, we have managed to dispatch the vaccine."

"A vaccine that was already to go." Claire said with undertones of suspicion.

Goldman said proudly, "We are always ready to deploy the vaccine to prevent what happened at Raccoon City and Sheena Island from happening elsewhere."

Davis then stated, "It was a good that they were ready despite you needless meddling in aiding TerraSave in preventing the deployment the cure."

"In fact, Miss Ashford was made to help develop it as part as her punishment." Goldman said smirking, "So don't worry it is perfectly safe. I personally oversaw everything Miss Ashford did. I assure you that she did not make nothing that I told her to." Something in his tone hinted that he did something terrible to her. Something terrible while she was prison. Making Claire glad she got Alexia out of their grasp. Something worse than forcing her to work on the vaccine. Thankfully, that did also mean that it should work as Alexia was very intelligent. Their conversation was interrupted by a male scream. Everyone rushed over to the tent where Alexia was. They found an enraged Alexia strangling Frederic Downing. Before Claire could tell her to drop Frederic, Goldman simply said, "Miss Ashford." Alexia froze. She looked over and saw Goldman. She dropped Frederic who ran over to behind Goldman. Alexia's eyes were filled with fear at the sight of Goldman. Claire eyes narrowed at Goldman who did not show that he noticed her stare. Claire had never seen Alexia fear anything. Steve, Wesker, Chris, Leon and other monsters never managed to inspire fear into Alexia. Yet a normal man caused her fear. Goldman must have done something to her if she feared him. Goldman stated annoyance evident, "Now Miss Ashford. You must behave yourself." Claire had enough and stood in front of Alexia and Goldman.

"Goldman you should leave." Claire said coldly. They stared at each other. Frederick took the opportunity to led Davis over to the trucks. Doctor Radames coughed.

"Very well." Goldman stated. He walked off still oozing smugness. Claire then turned her attention to Alexia. Alexia's sole attention was on Goldman. Her fear filled eyes continued to look in that direction even after he had disappeared.

"Alexia" Claire said. Alexia looked at her. Claire could see the fear remaining in her eyes. Claire did not like seeing Alexia like this and her protective instincts flared up. Claire promised rather dark, "Goldman won't hurt you now. I promise you that." She would kill that man if he dared to lay a hand on Alexia. She would have killed Steve if she had the opportunity. Heck she would have killed Chief Irons for kidnapping Sherry if old William Birkin did not get to him first. Chris would be horrified to know that Claire was so willing to do this, but Claire would do anything to protect those that she cared about. Her girls, Moira, Sherry and Alexia. Her fear filled eyes filled with love and adoration washing away the fear at Claire's promise. She gave her childlike smile. Once again it made Claire happy that the woman saw Claire as the centre of her world. Meaning that Claire could kept her happy with relative ease. Alexia's single-minded focus on Claire was a good thing since it meant Alexia was not focused on revenge or trying to destroy the world. It could have been Alexia chasing them through the facility trying to kill them. Thankfully, that was not the case and in some ways was glad Steve practically killed Alfred. Since it allowed her to save Alexia form Alfred's grasp.

The voice of Moira interrupted them with, "What is that?" Claire glanced over to Moira to see that she had found what appeared to be a syringe half filled with something strange. Doctor Radames took it off her with a frown. They were interrupted by the sounds of an explosion. Claire rushed out of the tent to see that the truck had blown up after being thrown into the terminal building. A tall bald man wearing black tinted sunglasses, a long while coat with the crest of Il Veltro on it, black gloves and white boots was standing in front of a busted open truck. The other trucks were in the same state. It appeared the trucks contained these strange men and not the vaccine. Fredrick, Davis and Goldman were nowhere in sight. Claire then heard screaming and gunfire. She glanced behind her to see large men (not as large as the one in white) that she thought she recognized wearing black trench coats and black fedoras causing chaos. These large men wore black gloves, black tinted glasses and black boots. The crest of Il Veltro was on the coat. Claire gasped as she recognized them as Tyrants since they resembled the tyrant who was in Raccoon City that she and Leon nicknamed Mister X. The Mister Xs (Claire had nicknamed Veltro Tyrants) turned their attention to Claire and her group. The bigger Tyrant (Claire named Mister V) then turned his attention to them. He advanced towards them.
