A Moment of Peace : Prologue
Arc 1 :
Chapter 2 : Preparations for War
Tsunade was pacing back and forth in the restaurant as she and Orochimaru were waiting for Jiraiya's arrival from the Hokage's tower. As promised, they had set their place of dining in the famous meat restaurant there is in Konoha, The Akimichi's Den. It was established just after the village was founded and of course when the Akimichi Clan joined Konoha along with other prominent clans such as the Inuzukas, the Hyuugas and the Uchihas.
It was supposedly a restaurant for only the Akimichi's but it soon allowed people of all clans and civilians to eat it as it produced quite a hefty chunk of monetary gain for the Akimichi's.
As known nationwide, the Akimichi, Nara and Yamanaka Clans were closely tied as even the Konoha's Council approved of its union, seeing as the advantage of having the Ino-Shika-Cho's prowess' was definitely one for the keepsake as their history together contributed much of Konoha's victory throughout the wars it has been through.
The main prowess of the combination was to wreak havoc in the enemies' formation all while disrupting the balance and therefore making weak spots for the shinobis to force their way through while using that same advantage gained by the combination of the Ino-Shika-Cho.
Their attack wreaks the most damage when absolute trust is gained. The Nara Clan usually handles the weight and the rolling of the Akimichi's all while controlled by the Yamanakas as they control the direction of the incoming spinning ball of death.
"Tsunade, why don't you sit down and take a sip first before worrying about Jiraiya." teased Orochimaru as he was currently having the time of his life now teasing her as he knew that Tsunade was in the state of being in denial when it comes to her feelings for his white haired of a best friend.
"M-Me? Worry? Jiraiya?? Hell no! why would I?" stammered Tsunade as she denied the accusation by her snake friend. Orochimaru chuckled before teasing her yet again,
"Oh Jiraiya!" he called out as he waved at the entrance.
"J-Jiraiya?" she said before turning her head towards the entrance door. As she kept looking at the entrance all while tilting her head and all, it was then that she realized that she had been duped.
'That snake bastard!' she said inwardly as she prepared a right hook to connect with that pale white face of his.
"You basta-"
"Hey you guys, sorry I'm late!" she got cut off before an incoming voice was coming through from the entrance door. Both turned their heads towards the door before seeing the white haired teammate of theirs.
"Jiraiya."
"J-Jiraiya"
Both greeted back before Jiraiya walked towards them and pulling himself a chair then sitting down.
"So, what did I miss?"
"Ah! That hit the spot surely!" commented Jiraiya as he enjoyed whatever that was currently inside his stomach. Orochimaru chuckled at him and Tsunade still adopting the worried and pity face that was plastered into her face ever since the start of the dining in.
"Well, It was a good eat out guys but I'm going to head out to my labs to inform them of the latest tasks. See you all soon." said Orochimaru before turning back his face from them while smiling innocently at both Jiraiya and Tsunade as he knew that it was a matter of time until both of them hook up.
"Alright man, catch you soon Orochimaru!" Jiraiya said as Orochimaru waved him while his back still facing them. Jiraiya then turned his face towards Tsunade before placing his hands on her shoulders,
"What's wrong Hime? You do know that if you keep frowning like that, you'll be then stuck with it right?" he teased before getting a jab from the blonde before retorting,
"That's not scientifically possible, you doofus" she then bonked his head yet again with a smile now plastered unto her face.
Jiraiya smiled after seeing her beautiful grin as he then said,
"That's more like it, you look even more beautiful when you smile, Tsunade-hime." he said sincerely as he looked into her eyes, losing himself to her teal eyes. For some reason, Tsunade for the first time of her life, felt a pang on her heart that as a result made her blush deep red.
"Well that and your boobs will usually pop up too. Hehe" he slyly remarked before a trail of blood went trailing down his nose. Tsunade lost all the sentimental feeling as the only feeling left in her heart was a total beatdown of this man.
Tsunade sighed before uttering something along the lines of 'pervert' and 'die' to which elicited a response from the white haired as he backed off for a bit before smiling as he then said,
"Ne, Tsunade?"
"What is it you goddamn perv-"
"I'm sorry in advance." he said before smashing his lips against hers creating a shockwave of emotions coursing through her from the passionate kiss of Jiraiya's. She opened her eyes before seeing the never-serious Jiraiya looked this serious. Tsunade finally knew that his love was in the purest form and not for perversion which was the only thing that made her to constantly refuse his confessions.
Jiraiya on the other hand mustered out as much of his feelings for her that he could ever muster into that one kiss. As Jiraiya saw the beautiful teal eyes of hers staring right into his, he bit her lower lips before earning a hiss from the blonde as she had her eyes furrowed and as of that moment, he took the advantage and rummage her insides. His tongue licked every nook and cranny of inside as she then moaned in pleasure at such a pleasant kissing experience.
It was truly a sensation she had missed and as such she could feel her nipples perked up in response to the electrifying shockwaves coursing through ever parts of her body.
Tsunade then ravaged Jiraiya's own in response as she let all of her emotions go with this kiss that will surely tell Jiraiya of her own feelings towards him. Jiraiya was in cloud nine as this time his feelings were now reciprocated and as such Jiraiya took it even further and nibbled on her ear after breaking of the kiss.
Tsunade felt two hands caressing the sides of her face as Jiraiya placed his very warm hand while kissing the life out of her as she felt the incoming surge of heartfelt emotions oozing from her white haired teammate. Although she felt extremely pleased, she would hold onto that for quite awhile as her competitive nature couldn't let herself be that easily conquered like a basic skank. She had a reputation to uphold.
Jiraiya was releasing his whole pent up emotions into that very kiss as he deepened it before a moment later breaking it off as he looked upon the innocent looking eyes that were onto his. It was as if the world has paused for a moment, causing the both lovebirds to gaze onto each others' orbs.
"Tsunade, I-" before he could complete the next word, Tsunade grabbed ahold of his arm as she dragged the sage into a dark alleyway just behind of the Akimichi's den. As both were now invisible to public's eye, Tsunade hopped onto Jiraiya as he grabbed her with both of his hands now supporting the plump ass of the princess as she then slammed her lips onto him, shocking the dear life of him to the core.
Jiraiya couldn't believe it. His eyes were widened to a point where it actually left him speechless of the action that Tsunade did. Before he could think any further, Tsunade broke off this kiss as she then said sultrily,
"Is this all that you can offer, Jiraiya? My disappointment is immeasurable, indeed."
Jiraiya was taken aback by her judgement before smirking to her and replied,
"Oh this means war, Hime. I'll ravage every part of your mouth and claim it mine."
Now back to his senses, Jiraiya squeezed the plump ass of her while eliciting a soft moan.
"You naughty man. Now take me, Jiraiya.." muttered Tsunade softly waiting to be claimed by the same man that had captured her heart.
"Your orders are my command, Hime"
On cue, Jiraiya returned her kiss as he deepened his kiss yet again but this time forcefully breaking through the barrier that was harbouring the insides of her mouth to which he had successfully ploughed into. Tsunade groan as she lost the battle of wills as now, the tongue of her partner was crashing through her insides to every nook and cranny, leaving no spot unclaimed.
For the first time in her life, she felt like a true woman. A woman that can feel the butterflies in her stomach whenever her partner was with her and the things that all women do that makes them crazy about their men. It truly was endearing.
Jiraiya kept ploughing through her insides all while massaging her ass that he had craved ever so long to even touch them. It never crossed his mind that he would be massaging her thick ass anytime soon. God do work in mysterious ways.
Tsunade gathered all her courage and tried to resist as she placed her hands onto the rock hard abs of her partner as she trailed even further down, feeling the stiff and erected dick as she encompassed it around her right hand while leaving her left hand free to touch his chest.
Jiraiya groaned after feeling a contact on his nether region. His domineering characteristic took ahold of him as he took his hands of her butt and groped her breast with his right hand while his left was supporting the weight. He fondled it through and through, making sure to hit that sweet spot he had discovered from thoroughly reading anatomy books of the opposite gender, never knowing that it would prove him well in this very moment.
Tsunade had her back arched right after Jiraiya had hit her spot leaving her quite pleased as she uttered a soft moan that went anything but unnoticed by her partner. Jiraiya felt a sudden surge of motivation as he wanted to hear those very same moans and as such, doubled his assault on her mounds.
The sage pinched the perked up nipple through the shirt, very successfully managed to elicit yet another series of moans from the blonde beauty and as such continued on for a few moment.
Tsunade then broke of the kiss and distanced apart from him before both were yet again eyeing in amazement of each others orbs. Before Jiraiya could peck her lips further, Tsunade halted with her hand on his lips while saying,
"Jiraiya, let's continue this in my place. You wouldn't want anyone else eyeing a piece of this body hmm?" she joked making Jiraiya nodding in agreement.
"Tsunade, I love you." Jiraiya confessed sincerely as he looked into her eyes with pure passion.
Tsunade for the first time in forever, loved every single word that came out of that mouth. Her lips raised up and showed him one of her most sincere smile as she replied,
"Do you really need an answer after what I showed you just now?" asked Tsunade smirking at Jiraiya as he only nodded.
"Fine. I love you too, Jiraiya. Now get me on a bed and fuck me okay?" she teased as she was then picked up bridal style and before Jiraiya would shunshin he commented,
"You don't have to tell me twice, Hime." he smirked.
The world was in for one of a hell of a shock after hearing what's on the news tomorrow.
Last night was quite the night for both Jiraiya and Tsunade as all of those years of pent up frustrations went into the drain with a plethora amount of sexual intercourses. They were fucking like rabbits as floors were creaking, sheets were stained and moans were shouted loudly for the public ears.
It was now morning as both of them were currently seen in bed together with their bedsheets covering the upper torso but with close inspection, both were buck naked with no clothing whatsoever. Jiraiya turned his head facing his love of his life while witnessing the cute yawn that she did. Her head were unto Jiraiya's arms as she snuggled it adorably with her hands that made Jiraiya smiling at her vulnerable state.
Jiraiya had really thanked the gods at this point for paving him the way to Tsunade's heart after all these years and although it would only last for a few more days, he would treasure it as far as his life would take him. As long as his limbs could function well, he would drag them back to Konoha even if it meant for him to be crawling.
"Hime, how I wish I could stay like this forever with you." Jiraiya muttered albeit with a soft tone as he lifted his body up and leaned onto the headboard.
His seemingly light-toned words had woken up the blonde beauty resting beside of him. She then yawned yet again before directing her gaze to her lover with pure admiration and love. Tsunade outstretched both her arms, silently asking him to get her up to which he gladly assisted.
As both were now leaning on the bed's king-sized headboard, Tsunade initiated the first move as she without any warning, embraced her king as she hugged ever so tightly. To be quite frank, she had heard Jiraiya's dilemma seeing as she was only pretending to be asleep after all this while and not wanting to admit it but she actually loved his charming gaze at her as she 'sleeps'.
"I know that you will return back to me, Jiraiya. I'll sure as hell pray to any divine being there is, pestering them to bring you back in my arms." she said to Jiraiya lovingly as she then hugged him even tighter, not wanting to lose any more precious moments with him.
The reason why she won't even bother with attempting to make him quit the mission is due to his renowned stubbornness and also loyalty out of this forsaken village. Although she was the sole heiress of her grandfather's village, she can't seem to love it as it kept on taking away her loved ones slowly, one by one. Now its latest victim was none other than the man currently seated beside her.
Jiraiya chuckled at her before pushing her, successfully breaking the hug and pecked her on the lips as a sign of appreciation of her blessing towards him.
"You think a simple peck will leave me satisfied, Jiraiya? It would take me more... and let me tell you more than that." she said sultrily before placing her hands onto his already excited dick.
"Heh, mistake on my part to consider you as an average woman. I almost had forgotten that you were...my woman." he said proudly as he can't get enough showboating the world that he had bagged the Konoha's Princess.
"But unfortunately, I have matters to attend to in an hour time..." Jiraiya said as he looked towards the clock on the wall. It also had plastered a disappointing look from Tsunade if her frowning was one to be judged by. Jiraiya smiled before continuing,
"Unless, you want to join me shower and perhaps...have a quick fun time there?" suggested Jiraiya teasingly as he then saw a glint in his lover's eye as she nodded heavily to such a suggestion.
Although Jiraiya mentioned something along the line of being 'quick', it was anything but that, as it lasted two hours of hot steaming sex from the bathtub to the shower and even on the sink itself.
It truly was a lovers quarrel as the sounds they were making inside were none other than loud.
"... and thus I believe that the formation should look like this, how is it Jiraiya-sama and Sandaime-sama?" explained Shikaku as they were currently planning on the formation of the Konoha shinobis that were participating in a battle with the three nation enemies.
Shikaku was by far the best tactician and strategist offensively and defensively as his stunts usually ended up in Konoha winning in most fights and at the very least lessened drastically of the casualties caused within their own men.
Once, he managed to reduce the casualties of a supposed 40 percent to a measly 10 percent, just by positioning them differently and dragging the wartime longer thus sacrificing their war participation to be longer in exchange for lesser lives lost.
And to think that it was his first ever command after the retirement of his predecessor, Shikage Nara, Shikaku's father.
The plan that he had orchestrated was nothing more than pure genius as his general war tactics consisted of three main things.
Firstly, to avoid what is strong and strike what is weak.
Meaning that Konoha shinobis would be stationed according to their specialties as he split the fights into three parts which were, fight against Iwa, Kumo and Ame.
To fight Ame shinobis, he would station more lightning and wind affinity users against them meaning most of the Sunagakure's shinobis were to be placed there. Shikaku had also suggested that the lightning and wind affinity users to average shinobis should be at a ratio of 65 to 35. To satisfy the 35, he had asked most of them to be close to mid range so as to counteract the suiton techniques which most of the times were mid to long range jutsus.
The same concept goes to both Iwa and Kumo fights as for Iwa it would be comprising mostly of water and fire while Kumo is focused more towards users of earth affinity as it would have less impact of a damage if they were to coat themselves of rock armor.
But all the previous plans will not work unless they separate the nations' troops which brought him to his next point,
Supreme excellence consists in breaking the enemy's resistance without fighting.
It was most certainly a near impossible fight to attack the enemies head on as not only do they have more than enough manpower to knock them down, they also had superior individuals that could singlehandedly take out a quarter of their already short manpower into dusts. It was then that Shikaku thought that one of the ways to commence, Operation: Scorched Earth.
Such an operation would divide shinobis into small teams all with the purpose of destroying anything that might be of use to the enemy then retreating after taking it down. Targeting the food supply would leave them in a good spot as after some time, it would lower down the morale of the shinobis all with the purpose of starvation that would either make the enemy retreat or forced to consolidate with other armies to which Shikaku had another separate plans for those situations.
With this, they would also have to cast away their pride and use underhand guerrilla tactics that involves ambushes on troops, a simple hit-and-run tactic that would slowly bring them down to their knees.
Lastly, the importance of out-thinking your enemies rather than to out-fight them.
His plans had already proved this point but it is more towards the council than anything as he would need of them to approve the usage of unconventional guerrilla warfare tactics since he knew that it will not be easy for them to cast away their pride away even though they were no samurais.
But alas, it would do them greatly in winning the war score generally as by moving the Iwa, Kumo and Ame to the side, they could easily take over more provinces and even attack Kiri while they are surrounded with Konoha's soon to be fortresses residing in each Earth, Lightning and Rain country.
Both Jiraiya and the Sandaime nodded along as they were briefed of the plans that Shikaku had been concocting ever since a few days ago. They agreed that using guerrilla warfare tactics would do them good in the long run as in a battle of attrition, they would surely win if they had truly destroyed every essential supplies of the enemies.
The councils were a bit skeptical and felt a loss in pride for using underhand tactics but the lure that Shikaku had set up had really enticed them greatly. Having full control of the whole elemental nations in their palms as they set forth for world domination.
It was one of the reason why Shikaku said that as it was greatly known that the councils were warmongering individuals that had ambitions of world domination.
"Although I've been meaning to ask Shikaku, what are the chances of it going into our way?" asked Jiraiya as he would some kind of assurance as that would really depend on his answer for it to be accepted. Hiruzen merely nodded too wanting to know as well as the percentage of their winning in the upcoming battle.
"It will be a 40-50 at best, Jiraiya-sama. We cannot conclude our winning too fast seeing as they have powerhouses that could wipe out the battlefield if they'd wanted, being jinchuurikis and all." concluded Shikaku as he took into account such powerful beings in the enemies' arsenal. It was then that a proverbial light bulb popped into Jiraiya's head and Hiruzen seeing his student's widening of eyes made him intrigued as well.
"You seemed to have an idea popped in your head, Jiraiya. Care to share?" asked Hiruzen curiously as he needed as much upper hand as he could in this unfair battle. Jiraiya nodded in response before dropping the bombshell,
"Atop of having sealers with their suppressing seals, why don't we use the Uchiha's prowesses? If they could imitate what Madara did to the nine-tails, surely victory is going to be on the palm of our hands as that would leave average shinobis." he said before looking towards the thinking Shikaku that was now seen rubbing his chin.
After a moment Shikaku nodded at such a viable option to which now every head turned towards the current Uchiha Clan head, Kagami Uchiha.
Kagami was now being left in a hard spot. He knew that they have such abilities to do so but only a few shinobis managed to master such a complex and risky jutsu including himself. Not only would it require a strong body to use its near to destructive jutsu but also the need for a mangekyo-level sharingan.
"It would be hard to create teams of Uchihas that could subdue the clan as it needs certain...requirements." Kagami said cryptically to both Jiraiya and Hiruzen as both of them nodded in understanding
'Mangekyo huh?' they thought in unison.
"Surely you can make them meet those requirements can't you Kagami?" added Danzo as he eyed Kagami with his deadly stare. Kagami glared at him for the unlawful discovery of the Uchiha Clan's secret.
'It seems that even in the Uchiha Clan, there seems to be a mule' he sighed before speaking yet again,
"Due to certain circumstances and to preserve our clan secrets we will not reveal such secrets for the public knowledge." he started before getting protests of yelling that were shushed by the killer intent of the Sandaime as he let his close friend continue although with an apologetic eyes.
"But we will be able to compromise on the minimum number needed to secure this victory. How many will you need, Shikaku-san?" he asked as he didn't have much of a choice but concede some of his shinobis capable of subduing the tailed beasts. Shikaku yet again was rubbing his chin while thinking the possibilities that could secure the victory.
"To bring to a stalemate, we need three capable Uchiha shinobis. To bring a win but with more casualties, five will be needed and finally to achieve absolute victory, ten would surely do so." Shikaku concluded before looking into the eyes of Kagami.
"Then ten it is then. I will update you on the names later on, Sandaime-sama." Kagami said as he leaned back into his chair.
Hiruzen nodded and shared his appreciation to his close friend for aiding him. Jiraiya then asked yet again of the winning percentage,
"Now it's a much better 55 percent victory, Jiraiya-sama." replied Shikaku as he calculated the percentages in his mind.
"Not much, but that will bring relief to our forces, at the very least." Hiruzen said adding his own two cents before continuing,
"Thus, everything that had been said here will be our current plan for the upcoming battle in Ame's territory. Jiraiya, I will give you the best 100 sealers as you'd asked and please pick up your second-commander-in-chief's details on my desk after this adjourned meeting. Anything else before we conclude this meeting?" he asked while looking around as he saw shrugs of individuals before finally signaling that the meeting was adjourned.
"Jiraiya-sama, Uzumaki Shori at your service," he said as he saluted his commander in respect as he got the chance to be under the wing of the famed Toad Sage of Konoha. He himself had great achievements and good skills as he was named the youngest commander that had lead his armies to great victories. Although it was small scaled, it still showed his great capabilities in handling the pressure of war and its intensity.
"Ah so you're that Uzumaki kid under my wing. I guess we'll definitely be 'Shori' (victorious)" he joked before getting the deadpanned look coming from his second chief in command. Jiraiya sweat dropped at getting a boring kid that would have to be by his side the whole time.
'Aw man, I just had to get a serious lieutenant huh? Kami why?!'
It had been approximately five hours ever since the commencement of Jiraiya's training program and safe to say it was the most daunting and exhausting training every Konoha shinobi had ever done thus far in their whole life of being on the field.
Jiraiya took care of the higher ranking shinobis, meaning from chunin to a number of anbu that was authorized by the Hokage while Shori, his second in command were to cater the genins and prepare them to be quick on their feet as mostly their tasks would be informing the HQ and updating of the current situation in the battlefield.
Shori was a prodigy in the making as even though he is no more than 17 years of age, all his teachings would be what senior instructors would have recommended and not only that, he had also singlehandedly cater each and every single genin that he had under his supervision and personally teach them jutsus that would do them great in accordance to their affinity as he thought them most C to B ranked jutsus which as a result made the newly minted genins pass out in exhaustion every single time.
Jiraiya had left his own blueprint of training exercises and targets that he had aimed to achieve by the end of the day to Shori and when he briefly scanned the situation under his supervision, he felt proud as a result after seeing that Konoha and Uzu had someone that can take care of them in the future. He felt a sense of relief after seeing someone of his calibre imparting his already vast knowledge to the younger ones, that will hopefully have no need for it seeing as they had achieved peace by then.
It was his goal ever since he became chunin as he went through his maturity age and with the guidance of his adopted father, he himself was influenced by his peaceful dreams that he had too. Before getting to lose himself to his thoughts, he was interrupted by a voice.
"Jiraiya, you aren't even going to plan on visiting me huh?" said a certain blonde female that had soon caught Jiraiya's gaze. The white haired sage turned his back around only to face the only one true female that he had been wanting to meet even way before the start of the training program.
"You know that that wasn't the case right?" he replied as he moved closer to her before capturing her lips and kept on kissing her plump lips for a few seconds before breaking off. Tsunade sighed before saying,
"Well, you'll never know. Already tired of me after a day isn't that uncommon you know."
Jiraiya took this into offense before instantaneously hugging her with all of his might while showcasing his immense love for her during that one hug. The atmosphere suddenly was filled with nothing but seriousness as Jiraiya said,
"Don't ever say that Hime! You don't know how much you mean to me right now. You are my only motivation in me doing this god forsaken mission and coming out of there alive."
At this point, Tsunade had her eyes welled up at such a heartwarming comment and then brought her head on his left shoulder as she then said,
"Let me stay like this for a moment please, Jiraiya" muttered Tsunade as she cried softly on his shoulders.
Jiraiya let her be like that for a few moments as he knew that under the thick and confident self or her lies and very vulnerable and emotional being. It wasn't that hard to figure out since he had been there for her even before Dan came into her life. He knew every secret of hers even if she kept it as a secret.
His eyes had never been for someone else but her...well hers was the only one he truly loved.
-Timeskip 3 Days-
The time had finally arrived. The moment of truth between who out of the participating 6 countries will end up having the table tipped on their end instead of the other. A full blown war between the Konoha-Suna-Uzu allies against the coalition-led party of Iwa-Kumo-Ame.
As troops were rallied on the field just outskirts of Konoha, all three allied nations stood there with a morale that could bring down even the heavens as they stood there proudly wearing their hitai ate. Whether it being an Uzu shinobi, or Suna or even Konoha, they put away their differences away and shared the only thing that they all wish to achieve following this upcoming battle, peace.
They will etch the images of their families, friends, neighbors and even the wildlife on their hearts as they will protect each and every single living being that they hold precious. They may or may not return back but they sure as hell know that their contributions on the field could mean the attainment of peace and that is something that they were willing to gamble on, their lives.
Jiraiya stood atop Gamabunta as he then looked from left to right, back to front of the brave shinobis that were standing right in front of him with pure conviction and determination to bring Konoha back to winning ways and to crush those heathens that dare stand on her way. With a loud voice Jiraiya yelled,
"Everyone!" his voice echoed as all the ruckus and noise were brought down to a minimal as he then continued,
"As we currently stand here on this very field, will mark the start of a historical moment that will go into the history books as the nation who had won against all odds..."
"With this very fight, we will be one step closer to a world of peace that all of you had dreamt of!" Jiraiya shouted with an expression that showed his patriotism and also his desire for peace. It seemed like not only him shared the same vision as his adopted father but also the very same people who stood in front of him as he speak. Their voice were amplified to a loud degree to the point where it actually shook the ground breaming not able to handle their tenacity as they shout for peace. That moment had Jiraiya smiling as he knew that with these people and their mindsets will no doubt bring peace to this war torn world powered by the greed of people.
"And so, these very enemies that dare threaten our lands are no more than vile ransackers as they hope to expand their territory and rummage every city of their wealth and forcibly take them for themselves!"
"Our goal for this war is to defend. Defend our land, our territories and also our people that are at great risks if we were to fail. Do you want that?!" asked Jiraiya harshly as the shinobis downright denied that as they shout their throats off with a series of 'no' and 'hell no's. Jiraiya smiled at their conviction before finally ending his speech.
"And that is all that I need. I want all of you to protect the weak ones and be their guardian angels! Thus, I ask all of you to raise up your weapons and hands and with that let us advance!"
"ARGHH!" they yelled as their advancing towards the main battlefield had started. The very same march that will forever be one of the start to a fiercest fight the elemental nations had ever seen.
And with that the commencement of the second half of the Shinobi World War had begun.
'Jiraiya, come back to me please. You're going to have a baby to take care of you know.' said Tsunade inwardly as she dropped the news of her being pregnant with the same white haired sage's child.
Tsunade had not yet told anyone, not even Jiraiya so as to not put a more heavy burden to his already weighted shoulders. Instead she had told her most trusted apprentice that she had picked up as an orphan back during her solo missions.
- Flashback -
It has been quite awhile since Tsunade was sent away on a mission without her teammates tagging along but as the progression of the war had intensified even further with the deaths of few important figures in enemies' nation.
It was something that she could've guessed after her 'instincts' were becoming more and more wary of the so called peaceful period. She guessed it was one of the many benefits in being in her grandfather's blood line.
Tsunade sighed as she looked upon the war-torn battlefield that had corpses and organs scattering around while some even were hanging on the branches of the trees but that was only the tip of the iceberg as her eyes was focused on only one thing right in front of her, a hole that was even bigger than a normally average kind of a big boulder, maybe even twice the size.
As per request from her sensei, she was tasked with a small number of shinobis that will be under her care to scavenge for the still alive shinobis as the Hokage was desperate in finding out the situation happened in that specific battlefield as not even a gust of wind entered his ears of this seemingly brutal battle that had singlehandedly destroyed so many of his shinobis deaths.
It was also for Tsunade to use her abilities in assuming how the battle went by scanning the surroundings as it was something that she had always been able to do with her intelligent brain.
The blonde Senju had a gist of what happened but she needed the confirmation if anything.
'Damn Jinchuurikis!'
It was the only logically possible situation that could've occurred in this 'crime scene'. A massacre was an understatement, really. This was genocide, something that would've caused Tsunade to regurgitate were it not for her vast experience in this field.
Although the same couldn't be said to those accompanying her as they were clutching their stomach hard while some even throwing up at a bush to their side.
The battlefield was in enemy territory, most specifically a few distances away from the boulder-known nation, Iwagakure.
That was also another crucial piece of evidence as Iwa had two Jinchuurikis that would make them the prime suspects. It was known that both five and four tailed beasts were in the palm of their hands. The hosts to both tailed beasts were from the prestigious Kamizuru Clan, the same clan that produced Iwa's very own Shodaime Hokage. The Kamizuru Clan has been dominating the political and military aspects of Iwagakure wholly. Most policies that were legislated were mostly giving the very same clan extra rights and monetary gains as a result from occupying a an abundant amount of seats under the Iwagakure's government as it exceeds 75 percent leaving the remaining 15 be distributed amongst the civilian and shinobi clans.
They also had monopolized almost the essential needs of the citizens residing there and one of them was the monopolization of water. A necessity that became of essential need to both the civilians and also the clans. As a result, revolts were popping left, right and center but their strength could barely compete the Kamizuru's and the village troops' own.
Yet another policy that they had managed to gain was the monopolization of having the rights to become hosts of the tailed beasts for 30 years, that was how they had put conditions on the contract that unsurprisingly gone unchallenged by the council as they opposition was thwarted by a significant 85 percent as those who had sucked up to the Kamizuru's had also agreed to the shameless monopoly that they had yet again managed to do.
Yet and yet again Iwagakure was slowly being integrated into the Kamizuru Clan's dominance.
"Jin Kamizuru and Ten Kamizuru" uttered Tsunade as she accused those two of the carnage that they did in this one-sided battle.
"Tsunade-sama!" yelled one of her companions that made Tsunade turning her head after which she allowed her to speak as she was almost breathless from running that Tsunade has assumed to be quite far.
"We found a survivor, Tsunade-sama! It's a young girl." reported the kunoichi as she had a gloomy face after seeing the unfortunate child that had to see such a carnage that will surely traumatize her. Tsunade too adopted a gloomy expression after hearing the report before asking her to lead the way to the kid.
As they had walked for quite a distance, they finally saw a kid wrapping herself with a towel that was handed to her by the medic nins to cleanse herself of the blood splatter that she had from head to toe.
Tsunade winced after looking the dead and apathetic eyes of the kid before walking towards her while kneeling on the ground reaching eye level with the traumatized kid.
The ones attending the child began whispering to her to tell what happened to the towering blonde kunoichi that kneeled in front of her.
"What's your name, child?" asked Tsunade with a guilty look before she hand-combed her hair to get rid of the unsettledness of the child. The child remained her dead look as she then opened her mouth like a robot,
"Onuka.." she uttered while intentionally leaving out her surname which left a pained look from Tsunade yet again.
"So Onuka-chan, do you want to tell me what happened here?" Tsunade said carefully not wanting to bring back painful memories.
"Iwa shinobis attacked us when we all going to the nearby shrine for our annual mass praying. It happened so...fast" she started while maintaining her dead expression. She then took a deep breath before continuing, making yet another hurtful expression from Tsunade.
"They took everyone else's life leaving no one behind but..me" she concluded as a teardrop fell down from her right eye and even then she was still maintaining a cold pressed look.
It was then that the experienced blonde kunoichi deduced that she had ticked all of the boxes of being a patient with extreme PTSD - Post Traumatic Stress Disorder - as the child was under a severe emotional distress while recalling the grueling memories ,the difficulty of experiencing positive emotions and to top it all of, the overwhelming guilt that was clearly seen by Tsunade even though the child's exterior look said otherwise.
Tsunade then comforted the child as she embraced her for a hug in hopes of reestablishing the feeling of positiveness so as to influence her already solemn attitude. Tsunade had promised to herself that she was not going to leave this poor child alone to fend for herself to the wolves as her motherly instincts came to play.
'I swear to bring this child back on her feet. I ask from you, Onuka-chan's parents to help her along the way.'
Ever since then they were stuck together like a daughter to her mother as even the career paths collided as the young Onuka had sworn to become a medic like her adopted mother and help those who had experienced the same situation as her. It was later that the world of the shinobis came to realize the beginning of a medic nin that will soon revolutionize the arts of medical ninjutsu to a higher potential.
-End of Flashback -
"Tsunade-sama, y-you're pregnant? H-How?" Onuka asked curiously as she was excited due to the fact that she will become someone's sister.
Tsunade smiled at her young apprentice as she patted her head before replying,
"It's the child of Jiraiya's, Onuka-chan" she revealed before eliciting a surprised gasp from the young Onuka as she couldn't believe that the man that Tsunade has cussed out a whole lot to her had became the father to her own little sibling.
"I-I'll become a s-sister?" she asked as tears threatened to fall out of her eye sockets. The next sentence made all river fall loose as Tsunade replied,
"You will become a sister to your little sibling growing inside my tummy, Onuka-chan."
Onuka then released her tears as she hugged Tsunade, the person who had gave back her life and purpose and now even giving her a chance to be a sister to her younger sibling.
The older blonde kunoichi returned her hug as she smiled brightly while patting the back of her adopted daughter as she cried heavily while muttering a series of 'Thank you's.
They stayed like that for a few moments before Tsunade breaking the hug and asked of her,
"So, Onuka-chan."
"Hmm?"
"Do you think it'll be a boy or a girl?"
"Hmm, my instincts told me that I'll have a little cute brother." she answered as her eyes glint in happiness as she couldn't wait to pinch the hell out of her younger brother.
"Ohoh? What makes you think that it's a boy not a girl? I'm betting my luck on a baby girl, you know!"
"It's settled then." said Onuka before earning a confused look from the blonde to which she asked,
"What do you mean it's settled, Onuka-chan?"
"The gender! It's going to be a boy after all, since everything that you'd bet would always turned out to be the other possibility." she chuckled before Tsunade caught on to her slight diss on her bad luck.
Onuka was now laughing at her adopted mother as she realized what she mean but that all stopped when Tsunade had her very own glint in the eyes that she had always feared as it meant pain and suffering.
"Oh? You sure are enjoying dissing me huh, Onuka-chan?" Tsunade said threateningly before locking her eyes into the fearful brown orbs of her apprentice. She then continued,
"I guess I'll let you on worm catching duties right away huh, Onuka-chan" said Tsunade before Onuka gulped at the task she was ordered to do that just so happen to be one of her phobias, the phobia of worms.
"Tsunade-sama, anything but that please!" she begged to her master as Tsunade began walking away from her heading to the hospital just right in front of her.
"I expect a hundred worms to be collected in two hours dear Onuka-chan! I'll be in my office awaiting for the worms, see you later!" she said before waving her hands to her young apprentice silently smirking at her.
Onuka dropped to her knees before comically crying at her own demise.
The allied troops of Konoha-Uzu-Suna forces or what they call themselves as the, Allied Powers, began their march to a place near the Iwa borders as they plan to carry out the so-called Operation: DC, cryptically abbreviated from "Divide and Conquer" as troops were placed in three different locations as they separated themselves in hopes to divide the enemies from consolidating with their allies.
Jiraiya followed Shikaku's plan as it meant that since the troops of the Axis Powers - the official name of the coalition-led nations of Iwa-Kumo-Ame - were stationed in the center of the three supposed battlefields ; Iwa's, Ame's and Kumo's borders respectively.
Jiraiya had received intel from his scouts that majority of the Axis' troops were stationed in Kumo (center of the three battlefield spots) with almost a measly 20 percent of their own shinobis were protecting their homelands as planned by the Axis', Jiraiya thought.
It was so clear to see that the Axis wanted to end the battle right away by attacking full force of their targeted fortress that were it to be captured, would surely settle 80 percent of their fight as they had territorial advantage over the three nations of the Allied Powers.
The reason why they had wanted to capture said fortress known as the Renbi Fortress, was so that they could cut whatever supplies from coming through to the three members of the Allied Powers as slowly but surely will starve them good all while depleting their morale before striking them whilst they were at their weakest.
That was the summary of the Axis' plan in conquering the three great nations of the Allied Powers.
They took advantage of the opportunity when Konoha had to sacrifice even more of their shinobis in battling the rebellious Kirigakure that had set their own target of capturing a crucial trade centre that had produced its custodian, Konohagakure, with many monetary gains as it expanded their economic stature after being easily vassalized by Konoha as it was a direct order from the Professor.
After racking up ideas and thoughts, Hiruzen had come to a conclusion to implement an idea still new to the elemental nations by vassalizing small countries and nations that will be a semi-independent country that owes allegiance to their lord and in this case their lordship being Konohagakure no Sato.
By the general idea of vassalization, in exchange for protection, the vassal ought to offer regular financial tribute and military assistance. The idea of vassalization originally was to force a vassalization of a country through a peace treaty or through means of diplomacy. With the measly size of Wave Country, they agreed to the conditions set by the envoy of Konoha and as a result will prove to be one of Konoha's most accomplished decision as they revolutionize the art of diplomacy to the point where subduing an enemy and force monetary gains by militaristic or diplomatic means.
The Wave country was one of the many affairs that Konoha had accomplished that has proved to be of great boon to the nation as a few years later in, the newly-made vassal had developed greatly through the venture of capital funds offered by their lordship. Not long after, it was nicknamed as The Centre of All Trades. Merchants come and go while tourists visit the highly developed and invested of a village that had many landmarks that proved to be popular that has even reached the other end of the map.
It had also become prime targets of Great Villages to conquer the wealthy and heavily protected country of Wave.
Kirigakure had always ended up being the poorest out all the big five Hidden Villages for as long as it has been since the start of a never ending civil wars that had constantly appeared ever so frequently. Their council had probably suggested in taking the wealthy village in the country of Wave as a way to reestablish their fallen economy and to stabilize it after being inflated for so many years to the point where even rice was hard to obtain by wealthy individuals.
It was a do or die situation for Kiri.
On Konoha's end, the Sandaime had deployed Sakumo Hatake to be the one overseeing their war with Kirigakure as Sakumo had proved too many times of his usefulness in important battle. Sakumo Hatake was also a newly-made husband to his wonderful wife just a few months ago and to his surprise he received notice from his newly-wedded partner that she was expecting with only a few weeks in.
Sakumo couldn't be more devastated at not being with his wife, especially during her time of need. Although completely dissatisfied, he couldn't do anything but return back to his lovely wife and hopefully be right on time of the expected delivery. He prayed to the heavens above desperately, as he couldn't bear to miss the arrival of his own child.
This was the harsh reality in becoming a shinobi, no one can know how long they could stay in this very earth as survivability rate for a shinobi especially during a time of war, was as minuscule as they could be.
But atop all of his worries, the safety of the village now falls on his hands and as such he had to uphold the responsibility given to him even though it was a heavy onus for a single person.
"Jiraiya-sama, we've prepared your tactics beforehand all while staying true to your words of not informing the troops." said the red haired lieutenant of the famed Jiraiya while kneeling on the ground as way of respecting his seniority on him.
"Great news. Now I want you to ready up the troops to march into Iwa's land as we solely will focus our attack on the boulder-headed fools." ordered Jiraiya as he then heard a soft 'Hai'.
Although already heard of the order, he stayed put in his very kneeling position as he looked upon the eyes of his to Jiraiya's own.
"It seems like you have questions to curiously ask, my cute lieutenant?" teased Jiraiya secretly knowing exactly what kind of question will be asked but he remained his quiet as he await for the words to come out from his lieutenant himself.
"You know exactly what question lies in my head, Jiraiya-sama." he looked at his superior with a deadpanned look to which Jiraiya responded as he mocked ignorance.
"You overestimate me too much, cute little Shori." the lieutenant could only release a sigh before reluctantly ask,
"Why not tell the troops of the plan? Won't it cause disorder if they were to be ignorant of the plan?"
'There it is.'
Jiraiya grinned in response before looking directly into Shori's orbs as he answered cryptically,
"The most powerful commanders do not disclose their plans as seeming chaotic comes from being in good order."
The red haired of a lieutenant furrowed his eyebrows clearly not catching the cryptically said sentence. It was then that Jiraiya insisted him to carry out the tasks given to him and gather the troops. The clearly frustrated Shori nodded reluctantly before carrying out his recently given task.
"You'll soon come to understand, Shori.."
'A pincer attack. Spy amongst our ranks. Utter destruction awaits them.' summarized Jiraiya as he recalled back his plans all while calculating his best shot in reducing as many troops that he can as he planned to entirely annihilate the very 20 percent that Iwa had foolishly stationed guarding his entire village. It was then that Jiraiya recalled his sensei's own words
Attack him where he is unprepared; come forth where he does not expect you.
"Loud and clear sensei." Jiraiya muttered all while reminiscing the lessons taught by his adopted father as he smirked in satisfaction knowing everything will come to plan.
The Allied Powers were just moments and meters away from the main battlefield as they marched on with their enthusiasm still in tact seeing as their hands couldn't do anything but fidget at the prospect of impaling and slicing the heads of the damnable Axis' troops with their swords. Although for most would even think twice for thinking those thoughts but for those partaking in this war, they would go so far even as to throw away their moral compasses to the bin if it meant saving the lives of their families and loved ones.
As they were marching forth, already seeing the soon to be bloodied battlefield, they shouted war cries loudly but went all silent as they saw the clenched fist of Jiraiya, signaling the halt which left the men clearly puzzled at their commander.
"Good. All scouting units, you may go and oversee the three locations of the battlefield right away." he ordered and right that instance, the scouting squads obeyed as they dash towards their tasked locations before leaving the foot-soldiers alone.
"And now to all of you, listen well!" Jiraiya started before making himself visible to all by stepping on a boulder.
"We will be changing our course of actions." he said before getting exclaims and surprised gasps from the troops as he was then hit by series of questions that he replied with a smile of his own before it was quickly dwindled down by Shiro.
Jiraiya looked at Shiro's expression as he was currently assessing his own lieutenant while looking for his surprised face. It all came to naught as Shiro kept his usual unreadable making Jiraiya clicking his tongue for not getting his entertainment.
'He sure keeps his emotions well tch!'
"Trust me, oh troops of the Allied Powers. This was a ploy for the spies hidden amongst our ranks if what my hunch said was true." he explained while eliciting shocked sounds coming from the men in front of him.
"But fret not, my hunch was only a complement to the original plan that I had set upon. The ultimate plan was to divide the Iwa's forces from the main enemy armies in the main battlefield." revealed Jiraiya as the soldiers then understood fully of the ploy that their commander has planned.
This would no doubt bring certain victory to them as to catch the enemies off guard.
It has been quite a while now since Orochimaru had left his lab for a few days since the eating-together meeting. Although most would dread to stay at a lab doing stressful things, Orochimaru was a strange man indeed as he was seen...smiling?
The snake summoner had been far too ecstatic at the green light his sensei had given him so as to advance and develop further his experimentations to a higher degree. An antidote had proved him to be of nuisance as he tried getting his summons to provide him every poison and toxins that they have as he wanted to compare and hopefully correlate some aspects of the antivenom as he then extracted the snakes' blood, resulting in obtaining their antibodies. It is a well known procedure that to produce an antidote, one must extract the antibodies from the host's animals' blood and thus resulting in an antivenom that counteract venom produced by any venomous animals and in this case, he tried to get any venom that at least have some of the salamanders' antibodies.
Although there has been little to no progress, Orochimaru just couldn't give up the opportunity that was given to him once in a lifetime and to a certain degree save his comrades but he sure as hell could not bother to care for the latter as the only people Orochimaru treasures albeit silently was Tsunade and Jiraiya. The rest could die and not even earning Orochimaru's gaze on their caskets.
"Hanzo, you bastard. Just how strong is your venom..." he said before smiling widely at the battle that he was currently facing that proved to serve him much more adrenaline than physical battles itself.
"Tsunade-sama, code purple! Four more are recently admitted!" yelled a nurse as she called out her superior that seemed to be stressed even before the call out itself. Tsunade looked at the nurse before nodding as she grabbed her recently tailored green haori before ordering a senior medic-nin to take care of the problem.
She could've gone there by herself but she was more preoccupied with the solving of an antidote herself as she and her snake friend was tasked to do what people might see as an impossible task. She inhaled a few breaths to calm herself down before eyeing back the papers of observation that Orochimaru had done after investigating the venoms and the antibodies of multiple snake poisons.
It was then that Tsunade's eagle eyes proved a great boon to her as she saw some chemical similarities that she could counteract using another solution if what her chemistry knowledge was correct. She then quickly took note of the discovery before calling her apprentice, Onuka to get her certain chemicals into multiple vials to test out the discover whether it was a fail or a pass. She crossed her fingers silently as she continued on writing bits of information while waiting for the vials to arrive.
Jiraiya had separated the troops into three divisions, Division Alpha, Bravo and Charlie as he quoted the names from an oversea military book that he read as his past time.
The three divisions were tasked differently as the Charlie Division were to be stationed just within the battlefield near the Ame's borders with a head count of 15 percent of the whole troops. Bravo meanwhile, was stationed at the main battlefield with just around 35 percent of the whole army. Lastly, the remaining 50 percent of the Alpha Division was the one leading the fight as they ironically march quietly.
The ones leading the armies was none other than Shori Uzumaki, Asahi Uchiha and Jiraiya Sarutobi. It was these names that will soon enough reach to the heavens as they become the leading commanders that was soon to be nicknamed as the Three Great Generals of the Heavens.
