Lucy POV
It was a Saturday evening and I was heading to the Fairy Tale Festival that Natsu's family always celebrate every year. People dress up as fantasy characters like princesses, fairies, townspeople, horses, etc. I had decided to go with the princess.
I wore a pink dress that looked beautiful on me. Natsu was dressed as a dragon and Elizabeth was a fairy. I have to say I am impressed with Natsu's makeup artist. They did a great job designing him and his dragon costume. He looked like a realistic half-human and half-dragon.
They had added scales, wings, and even fire to him. They had to put some type of chemical on him to make it not effective. I was surprised he was able to fit in the car with those wings. They were huge, but Natsu wanted to pull up in his dragon car.
I didn't argue since Elizabeth and I thought it was cool. When we arrived there were a lot more people than I had expected. I noticed some people that walked by had looked familiar. Most of them I had gone to school with.
As I looked at how they dressed, you would think Natsu went overboard, but the others had gone to the extreme. This must of been a serious celebration. The three of us had gotten out of the car and to go walk around.
Almost everybody that was there was from high school and town. Most of the people had known Natsu and me, but they definitely had known Natsu. Turns out he did a lot of damage to some properties. At one point it surprises me that Natsu would damage property, but at the same time, it doesn't phase me because I know why he would do it.
I'm betting that he had gotten himself into some fight with Gray. He, I, and Elizabeth were walking on the side looking for a game Elizabeth could play. She wanted a specific toy from one of the games. "What toy do you want again Liz?" Natsu questioned her again as she jumped up and down.
"I want the red fire dragon," she said desperately pointing towards the direction. "Why do you want that one?" I sweetly asked her trying to chime into the conversation. "Because the dragon reminds me of my daddy," she said as I couldn't help but aww.
She's getting the dragon because it reminds her of Natsu. That is so cute! I can't wait to have kids so I can experience moments like this. Wait, what am I saying? I looked at Natsu who had picked up Elizabeth and put her over his neck: "Then let's go get you that Fire Dragon Liz!".
I put my hand behind just in case she almost fell. I didn't want her to have a big bump on her head and have his family along with Lisanna and me make a big fuss about it. Thankfully she was safely on top of him.
"Hey Luce?" he called my name as I looked at him. "Yes, Natsu?" I shyly answered him. "Do you want anything specific from any booth?" he asked as I shook my head. "I don't know if I want anything specific, but we're here for Elizabeth," I said declining his offer.
"Bullshit, you can have fun here too, so do you want to do anything?" he asked with hope in his eyes. I couldn't deny him whenever he showed me those eyes. "I know you're not too fond of rides so we can take the trail in the forest," I said pointing towards the forest where he had looked.
"Perfect!" he said with relief. I cocked my eyebrow up at him because it sounded like he was looking forward to it too. Not that I had a problem with it: it was cute! "I'll just have somebody watch Elizabeth," he said looking at her.
She winked at Natsu and Natsu had tried to wink back at her. Okay, that was weird! We had made it to the section that had the stuffed animal Elizabeth was looking for. "You know, turns out we might have some fun tonight," Natsu said showing an evil grin.
I know what's about to come next. "How are you doing Ice Princess!" Natsu said mischievously waving at Gray Fullbuster who was a volunteer for the Dunk Tank. When Gray noticed Natsu it had seemed like he mentally cursed in his head.
Natsu had looked at Juvia who was dressed as a mermaid along with Rainbow. "Hey Juvia how many rounds for the Fire Dragon?" he asked her as Juvia had to turn around a look at the options.
"Um since it is a big prize this requires three strikes in a row," she mumbled. "But mommy I thought you had to get nine strikes in a row to get a big prize," Rainbow said correcting Juvia until Juvia covered her mouth.
"Shh Sweetie," she whispered to her. "But that's what you and dad said," she mumbled through her mouth. Juvia sighed giving up on trying to quiet down Rainbow. "But since Mr. Dragneel is a good friend of ours we decided to give him a discount," Juvia said still trying to wing it.
"Nah it's okay, I'll do the nine strikes in a row," Natsu said emphasizing the word strikes. "Wait, how about you just do six and we'll give you any prize over here?" Juvia quickly said trying to hustle Natsu down into a deal.
"But I want to do nine and see Gray fall in the water," he said pulling out his wallet. "Daddy it does seem like a good deal," Elizabeth said trying to go with the deal Juvia offered. Natsu looked at Elizabeth then at Gray and sighed. "Okay...I'll do six and take two prizes," he said as Juvia smiled.
"Excellent!" she smiled as Gray looked shocked. She went over to talk to Gray and it seemed like he disagreed with what was about to happen. Somehow Juvia had got him to stop complaining and he looked more afraid of her instead of Natsu who was fin to drop him in the cold water.
Natsu paid Juvia the money and had six balls in his hand. "Are you ready Gray?" I asked with an evil smile. "No-" Gray had answered before Natsu threw a ball at the red target making him drop into the water. "Good cause I am," Natsu said stretching his arm out.
"Hey Lucy can you hold my phone and wallet please?" he nicely asked me. "Sure!" I said as he took it out and handed both of them to me. After that Natsu had thrown his second ball at the red target. Gray once again had dropped into the water.
It was kinda funny to see Natsu getting a little revenge on Gray. His phone had made an alert sound and I curiously looked down at it. It was a person that name was titled 'Mystery Girl' with a ring beside her name. I logged into Natsu's phone to check his messages. I had come to find out that Natsu messaged this girl before we left the mansion.
Natsu: I can't wait to see you
Mystery Girl: U2 I have a surprise for you, just come meet me in the forest by the hill like last time.
By the hill like last time. Who did he meet by the hill? I know it can't be Lisanna because she was by the pond, so that meant Natsu has another admirer. When I looked up Natsu was on his last hit and he seemed fired up about it. I turned off his phone and watched him do his last hit.
He threw it as hard as he could and had Gray drop into the water for the last time. "Oh yeah, I'M ALL FIRED UP NOW!" Natsu yelled in excitement. "Now you can pick two prizes," Juvia said gesturing towards the prize section. "I'll take the big Fire Dragon and small white snowman," he said pointing at two stuffed animals.
Juvia went to go retrieve the two stuffed animals to bring them back to Natsu. It took her a while because they were at the top but she was able to get them down. "Here you go Natsu!" she smiled. Natsu handed the fire dragon to Elizabeth and gave me the other stuffed animal.
"Thank you, Daddy!" "Aww thank you, Natsu!" I smiled at him as he gave us both his toothy grin. "No problem, I can't forget about my two favorite girls," he said making Elizabeth smile. I gave him back his phone and wallet and he started to look through them.
"Hey Luce, I gotta go meet up with somebody real quick, I'll be back to take you on the trail," he said kissing me on the cheek and quickly leaving. You motherfucker! I looked down at Elizabeth to see she was hugging onto her stuffed animal in joy.
I can't blame her I would be doing the same thing. I looked in the direction Natsu had left and wondered if I could catch him in the act. I walked around with Elizabeth around the trail area because I didn't want to go in there with her.
I didn't know if he could be doing something with the woman. Plus I didn't want Elizabeth to catch her dad doing something bad. Elizabeth was playing a game where she had to throw a ping pong ball into a bunch of bowls of water. In return, you get a goldfish.
I kept looking in the direction until my focus was cut off by an arm that was around my neck. "Lucy long time no see," I looked to my side to see it was Guildarts. "Guildarts, glad you could make it," I said smiling at him.
I encountered Guildarts a couple of times but I never talked to him like that. "Yeah, I thought my old lady was going to keep me in all night," he chuckled. "So where's Natsu at, he's usually here creating damage?" he asked looking around the area.
"Unfortunately, he's busy down the trail," I said as he widens his eyes. "Oh, do you need me to watch Elizabeth while you go handle your business with him?" he asked with kindness in his tone. "Umm, that would be great!" I perked up as he smiled. "Good luck!" he said winking at me for some odd reason.
I handed him my stuffed animal, which he seemed unsure of, and I began walking down the trail. With all these secrets, I was going to finish this with Natsu once and for all. He's been seeing this mysterious girl behind my back.
I picked up my dress a little so I wouldn't get the bottom dirty. I can't afford to have this dress looking messy. I started to slowly jog down the path because I didn't want Natsu or the woman to hear me. I was going to give this mysterious woman a small introduction of myself.
I finally was able to get close to the hill. I was hidden behind some trees so Natsu and the woman couldn't spot me. "I can't believe this is going to happen," I heard the woman's voice. Her voice sounded so familiar like I have heard it before. "Yeah I know, I've been nervous about it for months," Natsu said to the woman while playing with a small black box.
Why does he have a small black box? Is that for the girl? "I'm surprised that you had called," she said as I tilted my head. I came from my hiding space and started to walk up the hill without them noticing me.
"Yeah, I was too!" Natsu said quite nervous. "You sneaky motherfucker!" I said as Natsu had noticed my presence. "Lucy!" he said with his eyes widening. The woman's back was facing me and when she turned around to face me, I didn't take a second to realize who she was and I had punched her in the face.
"BITCH!" I shouted at her. She was on the ground and I didn't see who she was until she looked at me. I was shocked to see it was Lisanna!
"Lucy," Natsu said in disbelief of what I had done. "SHUT UP!" I yelled at him as he silenced. "And you, how could you do this to me Lis? I thought you were my friend and that we came to a complete understanding of each other," I said heartbroken that someone who I thought was my friend was after Natsu again.
She was rubbing her face and trying to get up off the ground. "Lucy it's not what you think," she said finally getting up. I punched her again and she fell to the ground once again. "Save it, I'm tired of all the lies. You being so secretive and trying to hide another woman from me," I yelled feeling the tears slide down my cheeks.
"Natsu you said you were over with Lisanna and trying to move on with me and Lisanna you are trying to start a family with Bickslow. If you two love each other so much then stop trying to fucking hide it with all the affairs," I yelled in anger.
"Lucy, Lisanna, and I are not together," Natsu said speaking over me. "Then what's with all the secrets, proposal, hiding your phone, and staying out late?" I asked frustrated until he turned me around. He made me look up at the sky and right on time the fireworks came on.
There were a couple of them that had popped and the last one asked: 'Will you marry me Lucy Heartfilia?'. I was so confused until I turned around and looked at Natsu on one knee with the box open. "Ohhh, that's what this was all about," I said in realization.
"Well I guess I'll leave you two alone," Lisanna said walking away from us. "Sorry, Lisanna!" I apologized. "It's okay," she said waving it off as she left. Once she was out of sight I had looked back at Natsu to see he was nervous.
"Umm, I'm sorry Natsu for everything. My attitude and trust in you had got down the drain for the past couple of weeks. I had thought you were cheating on me," I sadly said looking down. "Luce...you know I'll never cheat on you, you're the love of my life," he said raising my chin.
I couldn't help but have a few tears fall down my cheek. "And to continue that love, I want to show the whole world that you are mine and only mines for eternity. I know I may be annoying, I'm hard to deal with, and I know I can be horny at times," he said as I tsk at the last part. "But one thing I will promise you is that I'll always try to make you happy," he said as I smiled at him.
"So what do you say Lucy Heartfilia, will you make me the happiest man and marry me?" he asked again. I looked at his green eyes and said "Of course I'll marry you!" I said wrapping my arms around him.
He had kinda picked me up and swung me around. He put me down and took my hand so he could put the ring on my finger. I was so excited that I couldn't contain myself.
We both began kissing again, but I sensed that this time it would be more than just kissing. Natsu and I took a step apart to catch our breaths.
