Chapter 3
Its been a few days since Draco and Myrtle talked and that made Myrtle nervous.
After the bathroom incident, Ron and Hermione dragged Myrtle back to the Infirmary to get Madam Pomfrey to restore her voice, but once Myrtle step foot into the Infirmary, she panicked and dashed out and ran to the library to took Ron and Hermione forever to find Myrtle since Harry doesn't really go to the library on his free time – only when he needs to.
In the end, Myrtle is still mute and she feels a bit bad for making Harry's friends worry, but she knows she won't be able to act as Harry and fool everyone. Heck, she walks with her head down most of the time since she is now the infamous Harry Potter. People are giving her weird looks, but thankfully, Harry's friends are telling people that she isn't feeling well and that seemed to tame their curiosity for the mean time.
Currently, classes are over for the day and everyone is gathered at the Great Hall for supper. Myrtle is seated with Harry's friends which also includes Ginny, Dean, and Seamus who keep giving her concerned glances.
"Mate, when are you going to snap out of whatever trance you're in? Quidditch practice starts in a few days and we can't have you being like –." Ron gestures wildly to Harry "– like this!"
Myrtle's head snapped up from her food to look at Ron before shrinking into her seat and shrugging.
Ginny, who is sitting to Harry's right, scoots closer to Myrtle and attempted to link her arm with Myrtle's who shoved her away and stood up.
"Trouble in Paradise, I see."
Myrtle looked to the edge of the table and sighed in relief to see Draco strutting over with a playful smirk on his face.
Ginny stands up as well and glares at Draco along with the other Gryffindors.
"There's nothing wrong at all. Why are you in the lion's den? Want to get eaten?"
Some Gryffindors 'oo-ed' while others made lion noises which made Draco chuckle and hold up his hands in mock surrender.
"I'm not here to cause any trouble."
Most of the Gryffindors scoffed in disbelief.
"Honest. I'm just here to collect… a certain… Gryffindor."
At this point, Draco was face to face with Myrtle. She was struggling not to smile and roll her eyes at Draco's dramatic antics and saw him discreetly wink at her.
Myrtle was about to step forward when she felt someone yank her back.
"Harry isn't going to go with you! Why should he?"
Ginny was attempting to drag Myrtle back to the table when Myrtle got fed up with Ginny and shoved her back causing her to fall back.
Draco smirked as he leaned against the wall and surveyed the suddenly silent Great Hall.
Myrtle walked up to a teary-eyed Ginny and glared down at her and mouthed, 'Don't ever make decisions for me. I am my own person!' before turning around and grabbing Draco's arm and they left the hall together.
Myrtle and Draco made their way into the Dungeons and headed into Professor Snape's classroom. Once they got there, Myrtle released his arm and turned around to hug him.
Draco blushed a bit before hugging Myrtle back and patted her on the back gently.
"Alright, alright. I informed Severus about your condition and he told me to bring you here immediately." Draco explained as he walked Myrtle to a chair to sit down. "I'm absolutely positive he know exactly what is going on. Don't worry, we'll resolve this soon, okay?"
Myrtle glanced down at Harry's hands before she slowly nodded.
Draco sighed and grabbed a seat and bought it closer to Myrtle then took a seat. After a moment, Draco nodded to himself before grabbing his wand and chanted, "Finite Incantatem" and directed the spell to Myrtle.
She sighed loudly and slouched in her chair while glancing at Draco from the corner of her eyes.
"Why must you be so dramatic? Especially in a hall full of students? Do you know how many people stare at me on a daily basis? His friends are soooo annoying!" Myrtle was up and pacing around the room while gesturing exaggeratingly with her hands at this point. "Especially that ginger girl! Minnie? Jinny? Anyway, she has a majorly HUGE crush on Harry! It's so obvious! She won't leave him – no me – ALONE! WHEN WILL THIS END –?!"
She was at the climax of her rant when she bumped into Snape and closed her mouth before scrambling over to Draco and hiding behind him.
"This certainly isn't Potter. It is almost disturbing to see him in this state… almost." Snape muttered while examining Potter head to toe. "I have a strong assumption as to how this happened. Follow me into my office – both of you."
With a twirl of Snape's robes, the two students followed Snape into his office and stood in front of his desk while Snape went into a cupboard in a darkened corner of the room. He returned with a vial and placed it onto the center of his desk.
"Do you recognize this potion, Draco?"
Draco carefully picked up the potion and fondled it for a bit before placing it back.
"Yes. It's the Draught of Peace potion that we brewed a week ago in class – why is this important?"
Snape sighed and sat at his desk gesturing the occupants of the room to sit down as well.
"When this class was in session, Potter and Longbottom managed to brew an almost perfect Draught of Peace… almost."
Myrtle and Draco exchanged worried glances at each other.
"As you both may know, this potion is very delicate. Even the slightest alteration can change the results drastically. With this potion in particular," Snape nods his head to the vial on the table "a small amount of hellebore and powder moonstone got mixed in and caused Potter's soul to weaken. This, in turn, made his body more vulnerable to other spirits to enter his body, and that brings us to our current problem."
The Slytherin and Ravenclaw leaned forward in their seats.
"I cannot have an antidote made for Potter."
AN: Oooo, why not Snape?
Guess Myrtle is going to be stuck as Harry for awhile longer!
Have a nice day!
