Chapter 10
Later that evening, Rin came into Kagome's room as she finished dressed for dinner.
"Well you look happy. I'm guessing the talk went well?"
"Yea it did! My lord listened to me and we came to a compromise." She sat on the bed combing the pup's freshly washed hair.
"What is it?" as Kagome continued brushing her own hair.
"I can continue to learn medicine as long as I'm with you. Wherever you go, I go. Is that ok with you? I-I don't want to burden you…" feeling her hands shake.
"Of course you can! You are my daughter. I'd be happy to keep my children together!" Smiling at the nervous girl. "But what about Haruka? Did you tell him about Kohaku?"
"Papa said he would rather Kohaku as my husband than Haruka! I couldn't believe my ears! He does want to formally speak with him so I've sent a message to the village to come once he gets it!" She gushed. "He would speak with Haruka so I don't have to worry!"
"Papa?!" Kagome looked stunned.
"Lord Sesshomaru will be making the announcement that he will officially adopt me as his daughter on the day of the ceremony! Isn't that great! I've dreamed to call him papa! But it's a secret for now!"
"I'm so happy for you Rin! I'm sure that stoic demon lord must be thrilled as well!" Giving Rin a kiss on her cheek.
"What about you Kagome? What will you decide? Papa wants Zuki to stay here. I've never seen him this way. He loves him like his own. It would break his heart if you leave."
"I didn't know he felt like that. I wish he would have told me. I-I have to think about it before I give him a decision." Getting up to go to her wardrobe closet. "Can you help me pick something? You know I suck at this!" Kagome giggled.
