Grass, trees, blue skies, clean air, pure light. It felt like he stepped into a different time. 'home,' he stepped into his home. So many trees so much green. He hadn't seen so many trees and grass in years! He looked at the girl holding his hand who was smiling like an idiot.' It is real.' He lightly squeezed her hand to get her attention.
"yes Inuyasha?" she asked him looking up towards him.
'I want to run. Please let me run' he silently begged her. Letting his eyes show her his pleading question.' Please'
She knew what he wanted. Who wouldn't want to be free after being stuck where she found him? She smiled even bigger at him." Go." She let go off his hand and gave him a light push.
That little push was all it took. Inuyasha didn't hesitate. He took off so fast Kagomes hair got swept up like she was standing in the middle of a tornado, leaves and dirt flew up around her create a slight fog around her. She laughed. He ran.
Inuyasha leapt from tree to tree, leaping off the branches. He felt the grass and dead leaves crunch under his naked feet. The wind tossed his hair out behind him. Making him seem like he had silver glow about him. The dirt puffed up around him as he landed on the soft ground only to leap back into the trees. He breathed in the fresh air, the smells of the animals around him. He kept this up until his lungs burned and he could no longer breathe. He landed in front of Kagome his chest heaving as he struggled to breath.
"do you feel better now?" she laughed out at him.
Inuyasha looked down slightly ashamed at his antics,' acting like I'm a damn pup.' He scolded himself.
Kagome laughed again at his face, "oh don't be so serious! If I could run like you id do the same thing! Now come one ill show you the house." She smiled at him and grabbed his hand and began dragging him into the house.
Inuyasha stared at their joined hands. He had expected her to scold him for acting so foolish, but once again she surprised him. Sighing to himself he let her pull him through the door into the home.
"well, it's a rather large house for just us. But its ok. Just means we have more privacy." She smiled at him as she walked him to the kitchen.
'privacy?' ice swept through his veins. 'privacy...does she mean? No don't jump to conclusions. She surprises you every time.' He chastised himself.
'so, this is the kitchen. You're welcome to anything you want."
'anything?' Inuyasha was shocked. Again.
"this is the living room. T.v is there. Watch it whenever you want. I never have time for it. To many chores around here...ha ha" she laughed out loud.
'really? I can watch it?' he felt like he was being overloaded with everything.
"and up the stairs," Kagome gripped his hand and led him up the steps," this door is the bathroom, it's yours to do as you want with. I have my own" she told him nonchalantly.
'my own bathroom?' too much.
"we have 4 bedrooms; this one is mine." She pointed to a door. "those two are for guests. "and this one is special." She smiled at him.
He didn't like that. Not one bit. Special was always bad. So bad.' I knew it. I fucking knew it!' he yelled at himself. Nothing is this good. Fucking nothing!
Kagome felt a yank on her arm. She turned back towards Inuyasha who looked terrified. She pulled on his hand," well come on now. There's nothing to be afraid of." She smiled at him trying to be reassuring.
'she can't, I thought she was different. All this time I was being played. I'm such a fool.' Inuyasha lowered his head a small whine slipping from his mouth. His eyes widened as his collar sent a shock through him making him go rad rod straight.
Kagome yelped as the shock from his collar traveled down his arm into hers," OUCH! Son of a bitch!" she yelled as she yanked her hand away from him.
Inuyashas heart constricted,' I fucked up, she got hurt. I deserve what she's going to do to me. 'Inuyasha shrunk away from her and backed himself into a corner his arms came up to his face anticipating a strike.
"damn it that hurt!" Kagome yelled as she brought her hand to her chest, "Inuyasha are you...Inuyasha?" Kagome finally noticed how Inuyasha had hid himself away from her. Instantly her hurting hand become an afterthought. "oh Inuyasha. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to yell. Its ok I'm not mad." She said gently as she approached him her hands up in mock surrender.
Inuyasha kept his face hidden from her,' I'm so god damn pathetic. I don't want to be afraid, fuck' he growled to himself. Another shock coursed through him. He clenched his eyes in pain and his legs buckled.' Damn it!' losing his temper Inuyasha banged his first against the wall causing a large clawed hole to appear. 'no!' he panicked and dropped down to the floor at Kagomes' feet. 'please don't punish me I'm sorry.' He silently begged.
Kagome gasped and jumped slightly away from Inuyasha when his fist went into the wall next to him, and she immediately felt bed for her fear she felt of him. She sighed and her eyes began to water," oh Inuyasha. Don't apologize. Its ok. I'm not mad." She reached for him and made to touch his hand which still hid his face. He flinched from her.
"now we were doing so good Inuyasha. Please don't shy from me now. Accidents happen its ok." She pleaded with him this time not giving him a chance to run away by grabbed his hand." Look at me Inuyasha." He kept his eyes down turned." Inuyasha look at me." She said a bit more forcefully. He complied.
'I guess sometimes I'm going to have to act like an actual owner with him.' She sighed to herself as she closed her eyes a second to collect herself." I am not angry, nor am I hurt. Now why did you suddenly become afraid of me?" she asked him none too kindly. There was time later to make up for being harsh with him. She needed to get ahead of this before it was worse.
Inuyasha looked at her surprised by her hard words. Not thinking about it just doing as he was told pointed to her then the door which was now to her back and shook his head no.
Kagome tilted her head at him slightly confused, "me and the room I was taking you too?"
He nodded his head yes slowly," well what about it?" she asked him.
This time he grabbed her hands and set them on his chest making her blush and pointed to the room again shaking his head no.
"I don't understand Inuyasha." She pleaded with him in a desperate tone," I'm trying here but I don't know what you are trying to tell me." Her pleading tone growing more irritated.
Inuyasha began to panic again. Thinking fast to try and tell her he took his hands and began caressing her cheeks and lips. He left Kagomes' hands on his chest,' please understand, I don't...i can't do that.' He pleaded and begged with her silently,' please!'
Kagome blush deepened as his fingers made contact with her lips, she felt a slight stirring in her pants and knew she shouldn't be feeling that way right now. Just then it smacked her like a ton of bricks," oh no! oh Inuyasha no!" she yelled out in a desperate voice. She clasped his both hands and let the tears fall from her face." Oh god no! Inuyasha I couldn't do that to you! You thought I was taking you in that room to...to..um..be intimate with me?" she cried.
Inuyasha wasn't expecting to have Kagome suddenly fly into his arms a sobbing mess of tears and snot. She was crying again. His chest hurt. 'please stop.' It hurt so bad. 'stop crying.' It felt like someone was crushing his heart.' Stop crying for me. Please stop.' He brought his arms up around her. 'stop. Crying...' he pulled her closer burying his nose in her hair.'…pl.e..ease..ss..top.' he broke. Tears escaping from his eyes and he silently sobbed into the small head of raven hair that smelt of Raindrops, Sunflowers and parchment. Gripping her like a life line Inuyasha wept.
The odd couple sat together on the floor of the hallway for a good hour just crying and holding each other before they could compose themselves.
Kagaome separated herself from Inuyasha and wiped her face clean of the tears she just cried for him. She looked up at Inuyasha and saw the embarrassed look he was giving her. She smiled and stood up and turned from him allowing him time to collect himself. She turned back around when he tapped his shoulder.
Kagome smiled at him and took his hand, "ok now I need you to trust me and don't panic. Its a surprise for you. And has nothing to do with me." She pulled him gently towards the door and pushed towards it," open the door Inuyasha." She smiled at him as she let his hand go.
Inuyasha looked hesitantly at the door handle, 'ok, your over 600 years old. Grow some god damn balls.' He swallowed, reached for the handle and opened the door. He peered in the door and was confused. Inside was a large bed, dresser, nightstand and a t.v stand with a t.v on it. He turned back towards Kagome his eye brows knitted together.
Kagome laughed and pushed passed him into the room. She swung around towards him with arms wide open," It's yours! This is your bedroom! And ONLY yours." She emphasised to him.
Inuyasha stood still with wide eyes.' Mine? I have my own room?' he looked at her disbelief apparent on his face.
Kagome giggled and grabbed his hand yanking him into the room." Yes, its yours. This is all yours! We can go out tomorrow and buy whatever you want to personalize it! Oh, and get you some of your own clothes!" she laughed out.
Inuyasha was floored. He never had his own room. He walked past her towards the bed and touched the light blue blanket. 'it's so soft.' He turned back around his hand still touching the bed. He pointed to the bed and back at himself.
Kagome laughed again," yes its yours. The whole room is yours. No one can hurt you here. This is your home now Inuyasha. You can be yourself here. No fear. No pain. I will do everything I can to keep it from you." she smiled a sincer smile hoping her would trust her words.
'I'm home? Really?' Inuyasha stared at her not sure how to react.
"I know today has been tough. A lot has happened in the small 6 hours I've known you. I'd like to think we can be friends. Family even. I'll never let you be taken away and sold back into slavery to be hurt again. I swear it" Kagome swore as she walked to him and pulled him into a hug.
Inuyasha stood stiff for a moment before he wrapped his arms around her back pulling her close. He nuzzled his nose into her hair breathing in her calming pure sent.' Home.'
