She opened her eyes and the world came into focus. She was still laying there, her blood collected in a pool around her, and Gibbs holding her face in his hands. She was still unable to contemplate what was going on.

She was pale and sweaty and couldn't move. Like she was frozen yet the world moved around her. Before fading back out of consciousness she heard sirens, they were far but steadily getting closer and closer.

She felt her cold body being lifted off the ground. Warms hands wrapped around her and she felt pressure on her thigh.

Blinking open her eyes, she saw Nick's figure above her.

"Ellie, Ellie. You're going to be fine." He coaxed softly. Although he wasn't sure if he believed it.

She was lowered onto a platform and slowly wheeled onto an ambo. Paramedics rushed around her, first wrapping her leg in gauze and then placing a small cup over her nose and mouth. She breathed slowly, focusing on the ceiling above her, and felt the warm hand slipping away from her.

Nick slowly retreated from the ambo and Gibbs climbed up with her, Nick being too distressed to accompany her to the hospital. Just before the doors closed Nick yelled.

"Wait. Wait! She's pregnant." He gasped "Please, she's pregnant, she has to be ok." Nick began to feel tears pushing their way through his eyes.

Mcgee and Gibbs turned to face him. Pregnant. Normally they would have shot into a million questions but in the tensity of the situation, the only reply was from Gibbs.

"Don't worry Torres," Gibbs whispered before the doors closed and Mcgee and Torres were left there, shell shocked.

"Female, mid-thirties, GSW to the upper leg, sufficient blood loss in the field, tachycardic!" The paramedic shouted to the incoming trauma team.

Gibbs ran next to Ellie's bed until the team hit the large white double doors.

"I'm sorry sir, you have to wait here."

Gibbs knew this situation all too well, having been to the hospital multiple times. He let go of her cold hand and backed away.

Torres and Mcgee showed up 10 minutes later, they immediately spotted a blood-covered Gibbs and ran over.

"How is she, where is sh- is she in surgery?" Nick spat out twenty questions a second, barely taking a second to breathe.

Gibbs put his hand on Nick's shoulder, steadying him. "They took her into surgery. There's nothing you can do Nick."

Nick hated those words. Nothing you can do. Almost as bad as seeing her small figure, cold and bloody. He sat down, the room swirling around him, and tried to breathe. But the air wouldn't come in. He buried his head in his bloody arms and felt Mcgee's hand on his back.

Mcgee had almost as many questions as Nick. Mostly about her condition but he had been itching to ask about what Nick had said. Knowing now wasn't the time he tried to focus on other things. Suddenly he felt the urge to call his wife and kids, so he scurried off to a corner to call Delilah.

Two hours later a surgeon came out, ripping off her gloves and walking over to the agents. They all stood up.

"Family of Eleanor Bishop?" she asked

Without thinking twice they all answered, "Yes."

"She's out of surgery, there was a lot of bleeding but luckily the bullet went through and through and we were able to patch her up quick." The doctor smiled. "You can see her now, although I do advise you go in one at a time."

Nick stepped forward, not turning around to check with coworkers, and followed the doctor down the hall.

Hi again, I know I just posted but I was excited to share this chapter. Don't worry, nothing is gonna happen to Ellie or Nick, this entire story revolves around them so without them it wouldn't make any sense. It's a little tricky to work around this next part so it may not be updated tomorrow. Thank you guys for all the love on this story it's so sweet to hear from you guys. :)))
