The seemingly hundreds of machines in Ellie's room beeped in rhythm. She sat up in bed, her hair slick with sweat and a breathing tube draped just above her upper lip. When Nick saw her he swallowed harshly, trying to ease his aching throat.

Ellie opened her eyes, immediately smiling at the sight of Nick.

"Nick," she croaked.

He shuffled over and took her hand. Their eyes met and for a minute everything was ok.

Ellie's eyes suddenly filled with panic and she sat up straighter. "The baby.." she started

Nick shushed her and smiled sweetly. "The baby is fine, you're fine. Everything is going to be ok." his eyes welled up with tears.

Ellie sighed and let a tear dribble down her cheek.

She heard a small knock at the door and they both turned their heads. The door creaked open and the team peaked their heads through. Nick turned to Ellie and she nodded, wiping away her tears and sitting up straighter.

The team shuffled in, crowding around her. Nick scooted in to make room, careful to give Ellie space. They all immediately said their piece and stated how glad they were that she was ok. When they were all done they stood silently.

"So.. a baby?" Jimmy broke the silence.

"Jimmy!" Mcgee yelled, secretly glad that someone asked.

Ellie let out a small laugh and met Nick's eyes.

"A baby," she whispered, smiling.

Within a few days, Ellie had been discharged and sent home to recuperate. Nick stayed with Ellie for the weeks following her accident. On the second week, Nick was asked to come into work for a case. Ellie assured him that she would be fine and he left in a flurry out the door. Although he loved being with her he had gone a little stir crazy and could only imagine how Ellie was feeling.

He walked into the bullpen and was immediately hit with a load of paperwork on his desk. Mcgee, kindly enough, had helped with a portion of the work but the remainder towered over him like a comically large stack of pancakes.

He cleared enough space on his desk for his bag and set it down. He swiveled around in his chair when Mcgee walked in.

"Torres, how's Bishop?" Tim asked, taking a sip from his coffee.

"Going crazy, yesterday I had to lure her back into bed after she decided she wanted to clean the entire apartment at 7 am." Nick laughed.

Mcgee almost did a spit take, "Wait, so are you guys like living together now?"

Jimmy heard the conversation get interesting and wandered into the bullpen, almost like a moth drawn to the light.

Nick honestly didn't know how to answer this. He admitted that the timeline of their relationship was screwed up but they never discussed moving in together, it sort of just happened. Thankfully he didn't have to answer because Gibbs stormed in ready to share a new case with the team.

It took me forever to write this one chapter and I honestly can't explain why. I hope that you enjoy it and I'm sorry if the story is getting a little boring, I am trying to come up with some new stuff to include that will hopefully blow your mind. But if you guys haven't seen what you want to see in this story please please leave some suggestions. I will try and post more in the coming weeks because I know we are all sad that NCIS has taken another three-week break. Hope you enjoy and happy reading :)
