I've gotten into writing Disney X-Men stuff, so here's a new one.

Disclaimer: Pinocchio belongs to Disney, and X-Men and any other Marvel characters I use belong to Disney and their respective creators.

Prologue: When You Wish Upon a Star

Rogue was getting her daughter Marie ready for bed.

"Ready for bed, sweetie?" Rogue asked.

"No!" Marie said giggling. "I wanna see Daddy, Grandma, and Grandpa."

"Well look there." Rogue said as she looked out of the window. "The wishing star. Now try and make your wish, and the wish will come true."

"Really?" Marie asked as she hugged a stuffed wolf her grandmother had given her.

"Of course sweetie." Rogue said. She then sung to her as she got her into her bed and tucked her in.

When you wish upon a star
Makes no difference who you are
Anything your heart desires
Will come to you

If your heart is in your dream
No request is too extreme
When you wish upon a star
As dreamers do

Fate is kind
She brings to those who love
The sweet fulfillment of
Their secret longing

Like a bolt out of the blue
Fate steps in and sees you through
When you wish upon a star
Your dreams come true

"What did you think of that?" Rogue asked as she sat down on Marie's bed.

"It was pretty." Marie said.

"Yeah, but I bet you don't believe it, about a wish coming true, do you?" Rogue asked.

"No." Marie said.

"Well I didn't either, sweetie." Rogue said with a smile. "I may be someone in her thirties singing to her daughter, but would you like Mommy to tell you what changed her mind?"

"Yes!" Marie said excitedly.

"Okay, calm down sweetie." Rogue said with a giggle as she pulled out a photo album and turned to the first page.

"One night, a long time ago, when I was still a little girl, I had run away from an orphanage and ended up in a small town called Bayville."

"Yay!" Marie said as she clapped her hands. "That's where we are!"

"Shh." Rogue said with a smile. "Let Mommy tell the story, dear."

"It was a beautiful night." Rogue continued. "The stars were shining like diamonds high above the roofs of that sleepy old town. It was as pretty as a picture. As I walked down the street, there wasn't a soul to be seen. The only light came from a local wood-carver and farmer's house that belonged to a couple called the Hudsons. I walked over and looked in. Everything was made of wood, and there were tons of clocks. I also saw a fire in the grate and figured that it shouldn't go to waste, so I walked in."

Ooh, Rogue, what were you doing breaking and entering.

Rogue: Quiet, I'm trying to get my daughter to sleep, and she won't if you keep interrupting the story.
