Nick and Ellie had just finished at lunch and were taking a walk through a nearby park. The sweet smell of flowers floated around them. Ellie wore a silky summer dress with a color resembling the light pink tulips near the park benches. They walked hand in hand through a small path, Ellie's dress tickling her legs as the wind blew a slight breeze.

Nick cleared his throat nervously as they neared the ledge overlooking a small pond. He rested his hand on the cold metal bars and quickly turned to face Ellie.

He kissed her softly on the cheek and she returned it with a cheesy smile, "What was that for?" she asked giggling.

Without answering he kneeled down on the rock path, simultaneously finding the small box in his left pocket. He slid it out slowly and presented it in front of her, opening it with a diminutive flick of his finger.

Ellie, in a state of shock, almost missed the words pouring out of his mouth. "Eleanor Bishop, will you marry me?"

For what felt like an eternity Ellie stood there, eyes wide, hands covering her mouth. Nicholas Torres. The man of her dreams, down on one knee in front of her, asking her to tie her life to his forever. Her mind shot back to the day they met, the dimly lit alley, Gibbs by her side, guns pointed. The man she had met was stubborn and self-absorbed and lacked compatibility and teamsmanship. And yet not four years later the man in front of her was completely different in her eyes.

She snapped her eyes back open, oblivious to the fact that she had even closed them, and took a deep breath.

She said in a voice so pure and light, "Yes."

Mcgee sat at his desk overlooking a mound of paperwork, he groaned and shook his arm, peering at the watch on his wrist. Where the hell was Torres? It was 10 to 3 and he and Ellie had been out to lunch for nearly three hours. He took it as a sign that things had either gone horribly wrong or astonishingly perfect. He prayed it was the latter.

As he was contemplating this the sound of the elevator went off and the doors opened, Ellie and Nick walking out of it. Immediately the rest of the team shot their heads up and gathered around, hoping for good news.

Ellie and Nick walked hand in hand but as Ellie's other hand was in her pocket, no one could spot a ring. They stationed themselves in the middle of the bullpen and shot each other a knowing glance.

Ellie pulled her hand out and displayed a ring so shiny it could blind an entire crowd. Kasie jumped up from her place on Nick's desk and squealed in excitement. They all drowned the two in a group hug, taking note not to disturb their fellow office mates.

Later that night Nick and Ellie sat in bed, exhausted from an evening of spreading the news. They had facetimed Jack, Abby, Ellie's parents, Tony and Ziva, and Ellie's brothers back to back before diving face-first into their bed overrun with pure fatigue. Ellie sat snuggled in Nick's arms, turning the ring around on her finger in total hypnotism.

Nick had already fallen asleep beside her and she could hear his soft snores. She smiled to herself and turned the light out, snuggling deeper into his warmth.

Hey guys, this story is sadly coming to a close. I think that there will be two or three more chapters left until it's officially done. Then I can get to work on some new fanfictions, I am in the process of one right now and will release chapter 1 a few days after closing off this story. It is a Chicago Fire fanfiction and will be centered around Sylvie Brett. I just want to say again thank you for all the feedback I have gotten on this story, it truly warms my heart. I have gotten some amazing name suggestions and I'm so excited to reveal which one I have chosen. Anyway thanks for reading and get ready for Tuesday's new episode of NCIS, I'm super excited!
