Another challenge: As the world caves in, based on the song of the same name. Is a drabble, but could be part of a full-blown fic one day, we'll see. Featuring the lovely Moonclaw and the mysterious Batwing. To da reviews:

DarkCrystal666: Yay fellow poets unite! And omg thanks for reading Invisiblekit you definitely didn't have to I appreciate your reviews so much!

succulentsofa: Aw thanks I don't consider myself a poet but I'm glad that line stood out to you. I was definitely aiming for a common theme within the poem, and I'm glad you noticed that!

Mintflight0245: Thank you! It was very tricky I'm glad you liked it. I can't wait either!

The rabbit sat in front of the two toms, among them neither had taken a bite. Moonclaw didn't think either of them ever would. The silver tom knew it was silly, thinking of eating when at any moment that privilege could be cruelly snatched away by the jaws of death. It was funny. He felt like he was starting to accept it. There would be no looking past tomorrow. This was his last sunrise. Would he ever see the sunset? The stars before he shone among them? He stared skyward, eyes watering.

"Thinking of when you'll join StarClan?" Asked Batwing, staring at Moonclaw instead of staring up as well. Moonclaw kept his head tilted up, but looked sideways at Batwing.

"More or less." Moonclaw admitted after a brief pause. "I'm thinking of what it'll be like, you and me, up there."

Batwing smiled grimly, giving a short laugh. "Oh, I won't be up there." The black tom didn't look at Moonclaw now, instead gazing at the horizon, where the sun was emerging like a bright butterfly out of its cocoon.

Moonclaw turned to look at Batwing, not feeling alarmed as much as angry. And perhaps a little bit of sadness. "Bats…"

Batwing gave him a pointed look, and allowed Moonclaw's tail to intertwine with his, which was huge for him. "You know there's only one cat who can get away with calling me that."

"It doesn't matter." Moonclaw said in a breathy whisper. "At least I got to say it once." He leaned closer to Batwing, who stiffened, but didn't move away. After a few moments, he relaxed into Moonclaw's pelt on his.

Moonclaw wanted to ask Batwing why he didn't think he'd dwell among the stars, in fact, there were so many things he wanted to ask the black tom and this might be the only time left to do it. But despite the cat pressing against him being shrouded in mystery, and in fact sometimes it really hurt that Batwing kept so many things from him, this moment trumped all that. The fact that they were here, together, waiting for their lives and world to end was worth letting the secrets go. This moment was enough.
