Moving on
A cold chill sent shivers down her back. That was more than unusual, normally the cold didn't bother her. Yet she stumbled along walking right into the familiar building only lit by candles. Once inside she sat alone at a table. The nearest bar hadn't given her the distraction she was looking for, in her hands was her phone, she placed it in front of her staring at the screen. It had been over a week now. "Still waiting for a call back sister? Careful now, you're looking desperate." Quickly her eyes snapped to Tea who had sat down with her.
"Working overtime won't help you avoid him forever. Careful, you're looking pale." The rude remark got a smile from her younger sister. "I thought I'd have a drink or two."
Tea nodded looking over waving over a nearby waitress. "I thought we've talked about this. You call before you stop by? Most of your exs still eat and bring family here." Mai ignored her as she was handed a glass of wine. Tea sighed, "Joey's here tonight.."
"He's not an ex."
"No. He wasn't. But he was something." Her eyes drifted around the room. "Icing your heart just only means eventually it will have to melt. Your desperation is proof that it already started." The two fell silent. Tea kept her eyes all about, shortly later she noticed someone walk in. Quickly she stood. "I have to go. Stay. Enjoy, I'll give you a ride home in a bit alright."
Mai looked over to the mystery person, "Who's that?"
Tea shrugged, "He hasn't said much. Comes in daily, owns a company that specializes in technology, new in town, apparently he's supposed to be working out some type of contract to merge companies with Kaiba."
Mai smiled handing Tea her phone, "Interesting." Tea rolled her eyes as she watched her sister make her way over to the new guy.
"Mai at it again?" Joey asked standing next to Tea. "… I've got a bad feeling about that one…"
Tea smiled as she picked up the items left on the table her sister left. "Thanks for your input, but I think she's no longer your problem. Besides, if I were you, I'd be more worried about when she finds out you're dating her secretary."
"I'm serious Tea. This doesn't seem right…. Just… keep an eye open okay?" Mai walked towards them, joey turned to leave.
"Well how'd it go?" Tea asked smiling noticing the grin on her sisters face.
"Drinks tomorrow night." Mai replied picking up her purse and quickly finishing her glass.
"Does he have a name?"
Mai thought for a second, "Nope. Wouldn't give it to me. Don't worry I didn't give him mine either. But he has an interesting accent…. Anyways I'm off to go home. See you when you get back?" Mai quickly walked out the door.
Tea stood confused, that was the oddest moment ever. She heard an unfamiliar ring, she looked down. Mai's phone was ringing. She answered it. "Hello?"
"Tea?" A confused Bakura responded.
Tea laughed. "Yeahhh it's me. Mai left her phone, she's currently trying to chase after some guy who hasn't given a name."
Of course Bakura snickered. "She would… other besides that she's been fine?"
"Yeah of course. I'd let you know if she wasn't. Do you want me to have her call back?"
"It's nothing important, but sure."
