Hey guys! Time for chapter 4! I am surprised that I actually have gotten this far, I did not expect that this story would actually do this well. Please review! Thank you and enjoy the chapter! Warning, this chapter has mentions of rape.
~Peter~
High King Peter:
I accept your offer King Peter. I do not however accept to not harm your sister till then. She has a very pretty face you know. I think I will put her to good use until then. My guards have already had their fun with her, it is my turn soon.
Lord Miraz.
"We need to find Caspian now." Peter muttered.
"Yes. We do."
~Susan~
"Aslan, what are we doing?" She asked, curious. He had led her to a clear spring which gathered into a small pond with crystal clear water and beautiful flowers surrounding it.
"Wait dear one." Aslan breathed on the water and an image begun to form,
"What are we going to put in the letter?" A voice came from the pure water. She smiled brightly. It was Caspian.
"Pete, I am going to work on the summons, you and Caspian can write to Miraz." This one was Ed, her smile faded; they were going to... war?
"Aslan-" She started but he cut her off with a gentle 'shhh.' She stared intently at the water again and another image appeared, it was a... letter?
High King Peter:
I accept your offer King Peter. I do not however accept to not harm your sister till then. She has a very pretty face you know. I think I will put her to good use until then. My guards have already had their fun with her, it is my turn soon.
Lord Miraz.
By the time she finished reading the letter her blood was boiling, how dare he! How dare that cunning little Telmarine! He had spoken as if she was a mere object, an accessory to show off! But then Peter entered her mind... she knew that he would not take it well at all, Their going to war! She instantly remembered. The thought horrified her, Their going to war for me! She felt nauseous. The last time they went to war for her, thousands of Narnians lost their life, children never hugged their fathers again, Women never saw their husband again, young women never kissed their lovers again. Her stomach churned,
"Aslan, we have to stop them, please!" She begged, but he only shook his head,
"I am sorry my child, but the future cannot, and must not be changed."
"Alright." She said without emotion. She turned back to the beautiful pond, watching the next scene unfold.
By order and law of the High King, all men, willing and able to fight are requested to join the Narnian army. Lord Miraz of the Telmarines has greatly wronged her and we are asking you will fight for her. You will be required to gather by Aslan's How. This is where we will train and practice till Miraz's army arrives, if you die, you die with honor. Long Live Aslan!
It was the summons, no doubt written by Ed. He rolled up the summons and walked out of the room. She sighed,
"I don't understand Aslan, why can't we at least give them a sign, a sign that I am alive? Please Aslan, I can't just stand here and watch my brothers go off to war!" Her voice was filled with emotions.
"Is it only your brothers lives you fear for?" He watched her intently, his amber eyes looking into her heart, she sighed. There was no hiding from the fact that it wasn't just Pete and Ed's life she was worried about.
"Well, no." She said looking down at the soft ground.
"Its alright dear one, I understand exactly how you feel, but I must warn you again. Do not make any decisions you might later regret. Now let us go, we have a guest waiting to meet you." With that they left the beautiful pond and set off to find their Narnian.
~Caspian~
He moved alongside the walls of the how, staring at a carving on the wall of Peter, Edmund, Susan and Lucy. His heart longed for some comfort to know that she wasn't dead, that she was still alive somewhere out there; that there was hope. He clenched my fists as he saw the next carving; The Telmarines invading. Catapults were flinging stones everywhere knocking down beautiful stone pillars which would have taken decades to create.
"Are you so glad of that magic horn now boy?" He swiveled around and faced Nikabrik. Glenstorm had told him all about Susan's horn, then he had given it to him to keep. "Your Kings and Queen have failed us. Your army will be dead in the first hour of battle, you have no chance of getting her back."
"What do you want? Congratulations?" He asked bitterly,
"You want your precious queen back? So do we. You want her love? We can get it for you." With that Nikabrik started walking down the hall of the how, and casting one more glance at the picture of Susan on the wall, he followed.
"You tried one ancient power," He started referring to Susan's horn, "It failed, but there is another power, greater still. One that kept even Aslan at bay for near a hundred years." He tore my gaze away from Nikabrik and saw where he led him. The stone table. A deep and savage growls came from the shadows, He placed my hand on the hilt of my sword by reflex, and unsheathed it, running down the steps.
"Who's there?"
"I am hunger." It replied. "I am thirst;" Out of the shadows a werewolf stalked toward him. "I can fast a hundred years and not die. I can lie a hundred nights on the ice and not freeze," From the other side of the stone table a hag was approaching him as well, "I can drink a river of blood and not burst," The werewolf continued in a raspy voice, occasionally growing louder. He glanced back at Nikabrik wits on end. "Show, me your ENEMIES!" He shouted, springing forward. He reeled back and raised his sword, it was hideous. It had mangy, matted fur and clotted blood. Various scars were running down its body and a long scratch trailing down his eye.
"What you hate so will we, No one hates better then us. Whom you love so will we. We desire only what you want." The hag finished in her oddly high voice.
"And you can guarantee Susan's return?"
"Unscathed." The hag spread her hands and bowed, He nodded finally and sheathed his sword.
"Let the circle be drawn!" She cried. Circling around him both the hag and the- the werewolf scratched a circle into the soft dirt, chanting something in what he assumed to be the old language. Suddenly the hag cried out in a loud voice and plunged a spear she had produced into the ground. Frost spread through the air and I got a bad feeling in my stomach. Ice climbed the two pillars as if it was alive, coming together to form a clear mirror. My eyes widened and the woman formed. Jadis.
"Wait. This isn't what I wanted!" He cried stumbling back a step. He had read all about her, the cruelest enemy the Narnians ever faced. What have I done, what am I doing? He knew that Susan would rather have been captive at Miraz's castle and dead rather her oldest enemy return,
"One drop of Adams blood and you free me, then I am yours my king..." His eyes blurred, Her voice is so soft... Then he shook himself, he was not going to get trapped under her spell. Behind him, the werewolf grabbed him and held his arm out, though he struggled it was too strong for him. The hag drew a knife and placed it on his out stretched palm,
"No!" He shouted, the hag pulled back the knife, cutting my palm easily. he groaned and struggled more, desperate to get away from the spell. He could feel the witches magic growing stronger over him steadily and I knew that once it fully overcame him there would be no escape. The witch put her hand to her mouth then extended it out of the ice, toward him. The spell was more powerful now... No Caspian... Resist... You can't give into her... But it was too strong now.
His vision blurred and he stood on his own now, reaching toward her. I will free my queen and take revenge on her foes. I will free my queen and take revenge on her foes. I will free my queen and take revenge on her foes. A voice steadily chanted in his head,
"Stop!" A voice shouted far behind him, but had had no intention of, I will free my queen and take revenge on her foes. I will free my queen and take revenge on her foes. I will free my queen and take revenge on her foes. Behind him the fighting noised were growing nearer and he heard his allies yelp with pain. Anger pulsed through veins but he needed to free his queen first.
He heard Queen Lucy shout in pain and his heart melted and a tiny part of his soul escaped the spell for a moment. Now the battle noises were practically beside him but so was his queen, I stretched my arm up as far as it would go, his blood dripping onto the dusty floor. "Come on... Come" Jadis urged. Her voice... I will free my queen and take revenge on her foe., I will free my queen and take revenge on her foes. I will free my queen and take revenge on her foes. Suddenly something cannoned into him and he was shoved roughly to the hard stone ground,
"Get away from him!" He heard Peter shout, he groaned softly and shifted, resting his injured hand over his chest.
"Peter dear," The witch crooned, "I've missed you..." He raised his throbbing head, slowly sitting up. "Come, just one drop. You know you can't do this alone." He knew her voice was tempting him. For he could see him lower his sword. He crouched down expecting the worst. But then a sword abruptly stabbed through the ice cracking it and he got to his feet expecting the worst, she was free. But moments later she screeched loudly. A horrible sound and the ice shattered in front of him, he raised his hands to his face, shielding it from any falling ice. When the room finally stoped shaking from the impact he looked up, there stood Edmund. Sword raised. Looking every bit of king he would have in the Golden Age.
"I know," He said looking straight at Peter, "You had it sorted." He finished coldly, storming away. He didn't understand the remark yet knew that it was better left that way. He turned to Peter who was staring at the the portrait of Aslan. He turned my head to look at the carving and my heart lurched, he looked painfully disappointed in him though he was just a carving. Turning his head to Peter again he bowed his head in apology. He opened his mouth to speak but quickly closed it again and left.
~Peter~
"Your lucky, you know." He said as Lucy sat beside him.
"What do you mean?"
"To have seen him... I wish he'd just given me some proof!"
"Maybe we're the one's who need to prove ourselves to him." But that was all she managed to say before Edmund interrupted her with grave news.
"Pete... you better come quickly." He quickly stood up and he followed Ed outside, to where Caspian was already standing, and before us was the entire Telmarine army ready to attack.
I know, I know. This chapter is much shorter then the other. I had more, but decided to delete it because it didn't make sense and didn't really fit in with the plot.
